Shania Twain Wedding: Is That a Gun in Your Pocket?

Shania Twain didn’t exactly have a shotgun wedding yesterday in Puerto Rico … but it sure was a pistol — as in what the guards were packing on the beach during the ceremony.

A guy who lives near the mansion where Twain tied the knot tells TMZ he stumbled upon the nuptials at the beach … and was quickly shooed away by several armed security guards.

In the video you can see an a guard with a pistol tucked in his belt roaming back and forth while the ceremony goes on behind him.

We’re told the security was so tight, if you wanted to walk past the wedding… you had to go into the ocean to get around.

Beats getting shot.

Nicole Richie didn’t invite Paris Hilton to her wedding because she only wanted to have guests “who care” about her

The socialite tied the knot with long-term partner Joel Madden on Saturday (14.12.10) in front 130 of her closest friends and family, but her former best friend was notable by her absence.

Explaining why Paris wasn’t invited, Nicole said: “We only wanted to celebrate with the people who we love and who care about us.”

Nicole and Joel – who have two children, Harlow, two, and 15-month-old Sparrow, together – married at the Beverly Hills estate of her father Lionel Richie, and the 29-year-old beauty admits her dad was delighted by the couple’s union.

She told Germany’s In magazine: “My dad calls Joel my Prince Charming. And that’s what he is!”

Nicole – who wore three different Marchesa gowns on her big day – was also delighted to have children involved in the ceremony, which was held under a tent transformed to resemble a French garden.

She added: “Joel let me organise my dream wedding.

“Harlow didn’t sprinkle the flowers, she just kept putting handfuls of them on the floor. Sparrow was the ring-bearer.”

Sources have previously insisted Paris – who has been friends with Nicole since they were just two years old – was not upset about not being invited to the nuptials.

One insider said: “She and Nicole aren’t close anymore, but there are no hard feelings there. They just grew up and apart.”

Prince William and Kate Middleton will invite 100 members of the public to their wedding via a random draw

The couple – who will tie the knot in a lavish ceremony at London’s Westminster Abbey on April 29 next year – want the British people to be deeply involved in the celebrations and are delighted their plan of inviting a selection of ordinary citizens has been approved.

A source involved with the St James’s Palace planning committee revealed: “William and Kate wanted the British people involved at a deeper level than simply holding street parties.

“They were crystal clear on this from the outset and were delighted when the idea of a random selection was mooted.

“Those lucky enough to land an invitation will only find out when it drops on their door mat. Can you imagine? It’s like winning a Willy Wonka Golden Ticket for your front-row seat in history.”

Along with receiving an invitation to the royal ceremony, the lucky 100 guests – who will mix with a host of international royals and heads of state expected to include US President Barack Obama – will also attend the reception which will reportedly be held at Buckingham Palace.

The source added to The Sun newspaper: “The fortunate few will become the envy of their neighbourhood.

“They will rub shoulders with royalty and world leaders – what a thing to tell your grandchildren.”

It has not yet been decided how the invited members of the public will be chosen.

Meanwhile William’s younger brother, Prince Harry will take on the role of Supporter for his brother.

A royal source said: “It will be an incredibly emotional day for Harry as well as William.

“They will both be thinking about how proud their mother Princess Diana would be if she had lived to see this wedding. People sometimes forget what those boys have been through. William couldn’t have chosen anyone else.”

Royals usually choose two Supporters or Best Men but it is unclear if William will follow this tradition.

The source explained: “William is very much his own man. He is undecided if he will go for another Supporter or who that will be.”

If William does choose it is likely his best friend Thomas van Straubenzee will share the duties with Harry, 26.

‘Sister Wives’ Wedding — A Semi-Private Affair

“Sister Wives” star Kody Brown has every aspect of his life filmed for a reality show — but TMZ has learned when he got hitched to wife #4, he made certain accommodations for people who aren’t as camera-ready as he is.

As TMZ first reported, Brown married Robyn Sullivan a few months back. TLC’s cameras were not allowed in the actual religious ceremony, but they did film the reception. But we’re told once inside the reception, guests who didn’t want to be on camera were given certain locations where no filming was to take place.

As for the particulars of the reception, sources tell us there were about 200 guests … mostly other polygamists. They served finger foods, open faced sandwiches, relish trays, and lots of varieties of cheesecake.

One of the plural family guests had their son and daughter sing a song for everyone — “We Are Families,” perhaps?

Russell Brand and Katy Perry’s wedding will last a week

The couple – who have been dating since September 2009 – have sent out invitations to their friends and family for the ceremony, which will take place in India later this month.

The white embossed cards said: “Meet you in Delhi in October. Dates to follow. Please allow seven days for this event.”
The pair – who got engaged at the Taj Rambagh Palace hotel in Jaipur on New Year’s Eve last year (31.12.09) and were blessed in a spiritual ceremony in the country days later – are reportedly planning a Hollywood-meets-Bollywood theme and have enlisted celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss to arrange their big day.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Expect the most vibrant wedding of the year. It will be a mix of traditional Hollywood glamour with Katy’s hair and dress, plus Indian touches like henna art on her hands and feet, an Indian tiara and hair brooches.

“About 75 to 100 guests will be staying at a resort in India and the ceremony is going to be held at an ashram.”
And guests at the glitzy bash will include comedian David Walliams, singers Morrissey and Rihanna, rocker Noel Gallagher and presenter Jonathan Ross.

LeBron James Leaving Miami for New York

LeBron James won’t be spending tonight drowning in Miami mimosas (that’s one part Cristal, one part ultimate betrayal) … because according to his publicist, King James is heading to New York for a more important celebration.

LeBron’s publicist tells TMZ the Miami Heat’s newest megastar has a wedding to attend in New York this weekend — between fellow NBA star Carmelo Anthony and former MTV VJ La La Vazquez – and has plans to fly out later today.

As for why LeBron made the quick trip to Miami this morning — his publicist tells us he was only in town for “business reasons” … and has no plans to hit the town tonight.

There will be plenty of time for that if they let him out of NY.

Nicole Richie is ready to start finalising plans for her wedding

The TV star-and-fashion designer – who is engaged to Joel Madden – is free of work commitments and is focused on getting everything in place for her big day.

Nicole – who recently completed a tour of Europe to promote her new fashion range Winter Kate and her House of Harlow jewellery collection – told US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres: “I’ve been on the road. I just got home, and so it’s really going to be now that’s the time for me to sit down and think about what I want.”

Although the 28-year-old beauty is ready to start organising her nuptials she and Joel – who raise two children together, daughter Harlow, two, and six-month-old son Sparrow – are yet to pick a date.

When asked by Ellen if she had a day in mind, she replied: “Not yet, but soon.”

Earlier this week, Nicole claimed Joel has no say in their forthcoming nuptials.

The Good Charlotte rocker admitted Nicole is the one in charge of the plans, saying: “It’s the same thing as our engagement, we’re kind of doing it at our own pace. We have no idea right now.”

Nicole – who revealed their engagement last month – then quipped: “Like he has any say.”
