Kim Kardashian is recording an album. As in music. As in singing … TMZ has learned.

We’re told Kim’s recently been in the studio with top notch writer/producer/performer The-Dream, whose hits include Rihanna’s “Umbrella” and Beyonce’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).”

So how’s it gonna sound? One person who’s been inside a recording session tells us, “Kim’s got a really good voice.”

No word on a song list, but a cover of “Baby Got Back” seems inevitable

Rihanna uses the web to keep in touch with her boyfriend.

The ‘Rude Boy’ hitmaker and her baseball player lover Matt Kemp chat online when she is away on tour to keep the spark alive in their romance.

Rihanna – who is currently in Paris, France, on the European leg of her ‘Last Girl on Earth’ tour – told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I’m really happy right now. It’s an amazing city. I love it. It would have been so cool if he was here. I was hoping he would be able to come to London but he’s working. And I’m touring and shooting videos for my next single so it’s going to be seven weeks before I see him again.

“We have to make do with Skype and phone, but I miss him. And this is the most romantic town. I can’t wait to see him again.

“It’ll probably be when I get back to America that we can hook up properly.”

The 22-year-old singer also revealed she now has a doctor on the road with her monitoring her injured ribs.

Rihanna – who suffered the injury while performing in Zurich, Switzerland – said: “One thing knocked something else out and it went on from there. I went to hospital just to check it and it’s OK. I have a doctor on tour now to watch out for me.”

The ‘Umbrella’ singer seems to be falling for hunky Matt and recently admitted she is having a lot of “fun” with the sportsman.

She said: “It’s new, and it’s fun, and it’s nothing too serious, you know. I don’t want anything that’s going to take up so much of my energy and time right now in a bad way. I just want to have fun, and that’s what it’s about.”

Rihanna wants to collaborate with La Roux.

The ‘Umbrella’ hitmaker – who was assaulted by then-boyfriend Chris Brown last February – was keen to record a track with the duo’s singer Elly Jackson, but the British star admits she is still waiting to be approached.

Elly said: “I’ve had three or four offers for collaborations in America. Big, big artists. Rihanna was very interested for a time. “That was weird. My A and R man said, ‘Rihanna’s going to call’ but that was the last I heard of it. She didn’t call! It was around the time of er, troubles in her life.”

Despite never receiving the offer, Elly – who is joined in La Roux by producer Ben Langmaid – admits she would never have accepted it anyway. She added: “To be honest, do I really want to work with Rihanna? Not really. I’m more interested in what the phone call would be like.”

While the ‘In For The Kill’ singer is reluctant to work with Rihanna, she does have other collaborations lined up. She added: “I’ve just spoken to Giggs, the rapper, and I’m hopefully doing a track with him and Liam Howlett from The Prodigy. Liam’s made a beat and me and Giggs are going to cover it.”

Rihanna was rushed to hospital after performing in Switzerland on Monday night (19.04.10).

The ‘Umbrella’ singer played a sold-out concert in Zurich but after leaving the Hallenstadion venue just after midnight she was taken to the Hirslanden private clinic via a blacked-out Mercedes.

The 22-year-old pop star was then quickly escorted into the accident and emergency department by her driver, bodyguard and assistant to be treated for a mystery ailment.

Alenka Ambroz, head of the clinic’s corporate communications, told Blick: “Rihanna arrived at the accident and emergency unit. We’re not going to give any details.”

She left the hospital at around 2.55am, over two and a half hours after being admitted, and was taken back to the venue.

It seems Rihanna’s mysterious medical problem hasn’t had any long-lasting effects though as she was able to take to the stage in Lyon, France, last night (21.04.10).

Rihanna’s ‘Last Girl On Earth’ tour is her most ambitious yet and features a number of costume changes and rigorous dance routines.

She recently said: “We’ve never done a tour to this capacity. The production is unbelievable and so are the costumes, we just took it to a whole new level. We just keep growing.”

The “Unfaithful” hit maker Rihanna will kick off the “Last Girl on Earth” tour on July 2 in Seattle, Washington.

The “Russian Roulette” singer, who is on “American Idol” this week, explained that performing on the FOX show was worth the trouble.

“It’s my first time performing on ‘Idol’ and it’s a little nerve-wrecking because we’re in the middle of our tour rehearsals and it’s a really time-demanding experience and we just had to fit this in there.”

ET’s Kevin Frazier joined Rihanna exclusively at “American Idol” as she rehearsed for her live performance.

She also explained the tour title to Kevin and said “We just came up with what we’re going to do right here, right now. I like to think about myself as the last girl on Earth because sometimes people make decisions based on the outlook of others and, you know, to me, my life is my life. It’s my world, and I’m going to live it the way I want to. That’s how I think about everything, that way I’m focused on me, and my work. It’s a really narrow space, a focus.”

Rihanna is very exited for her song “Rude Boy” hitting No.1, and said “I can’t believe ‘Rude Boy’ of all songs was the biggest song on this album, and that’s the one that I really wrote the most on.”

The ‘Russian Roulette’ singer – who had a difficult 2009 after being assaulted by then-boyfriend Chris Brown in February – plans to get rid of as many of her bad habits as possible next year.

She said:  “I want to stop shopping, being late, start waking up early, stuff like that.”

Although her career is going from strength-to-strength, the 21-year-old star has vowed not to let her work get in the way of spending time with her loved ones.

She added: “I’d like to see my mum and grandparents more. I don’t have a lot of girlfriends, but the one I do have is around me all the time.”

Career-wise, the ‘Umbrella’ hitmaker also has a number of achievements she would like to accomplish in the coming decade.

She explained: “I want to learn the drums and I want to work with Depeche Mode so bad.”

She is quoted by The Sun newspaper as telling friends: “JLS are super-talented and super sexy. It would have been cool if Marvin had come over and said hi.

“Maybe next time. Or if they are ever over in the States we could hook up.”

However, Rihanna faces competition for Marvin’s affections after he recently confessed to having a crush on Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole and The Saturdays singer Rochelle Wiseman.

Rihanna – who, like Cheryl has worked with Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am on her latest album ‘Rated R’ – said: “Cheryl is cute and incredible. I think I could help break her in the US. She’d wow them – I’d love to have her on tour, in Europe or America.”

‘Fight For This Love’ singer Cheryl has crossed paths with Cheryl several times in recent weeks.

Rihanna performed on UK TV talent show ‘The X Factor’, on which Cheryl is a judge, and also appeared as guest performer on a forthcoming show dedicated to the singer entitled ‘Cheryl Cole’s Night In’.

Rihanna, 21, also revealed she would love to play next year’s Glastonbury Festival, following in the footsteps of her mentor Jay-Z who performed at the world famous music event in the summer of 2008.

She said: “My tour is going to be a huge production. I would love to play Glastonbury. Even if it’s not headlining, but my tour stars in the spring so it may clash.”

Rihanna’s ‘Rated R’ European tour will start in Belgium next April and visit the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland before she performs nine dates in the UK.

The ‘Russian Roulette’ singer has revealed she has a naughty streak and gets a thrill from trying new things which have an element of risk.

She said: “I’m a bad girl and I like dangerous stuff!”

The 21-year-old beauty is also keen to move into acting hopes to transfer her love of danger onto the big screen soon.

She explained: “Hopefully – we are working on that idea right now.”

Although she agreed to perform at the private party, Leona has previously turned down other lucrative earning opportunities. Last month, it emerged Leona had been offered over $1.5 million to appear naked in men’s magazine Playboy.

Although she was “flattered” to have been asked to appear in the pages of the publication, Leona is simply too shy to strip off for a shoot.

He said: “We really should have had some Rihanna Rocawear umbrellas when that song became a hit. We could have made a load of money on those. I’m still kicking myself.”

Jay-Z – who is married to Beyonce Knowles – believes the signature umbrellas would have helped him on his way to fulfil his dream of making Rocawear a $1 billion company.

He added to Women’s Wear Daily magazine: “The goal is to make Rocawear a $1 billion company. It may take us more time than we would like since the economy is in the shape that it’s in, but I’m confident that we will get there.

“People want a quality product, which is what I want Rocawear to be known for – we make a damn good pair of jeans, that’s why people buy them.” At the height of the song’s success, fans started taking umbrellas with them to Rihanna’s concerts so they could copy her dance routine.

The ‘Umbrella’ singer has been asked to sing at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi to help revellers see in 2010 in what will be her first performance in the Middle East.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: “She was supposed to perform back in May but she cancelled in the aftermath of the assault. This is a make-up date.”

Rihanna had been due to perform in Dubai earlier this year, which would have been her first show since she was attacked by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in February.

However, she cancelled the concert as she felt she wasn’t ready to return to the stage.

Rihanna will not be the first star to earn a vast amount of money for a one-off concert.

On New Year’s Eve 2006, George Michael was paid $2.6 million to perform 13 songs at a party for Russian nickel magnate Vladimir Potanin and a few months later was given around $2.5 million to sing at the 55th birthday party of Sir Philip Green, the owner British fashion chain Topshop.

Last year, it was revealed Amy Winehouse was paid $1.6 million to perform in an old Russian bus garage for Daria ‘Dasha’ Zhukova – the girlfriend of Chelsea Football Club owner, billionaire Roman Abramovich.

The Rolling Stones were paid around $7.3 million for playing at the 60th birthday bash of billionaire David Bonderman.

The singer debuted tracks from her forthcoming album ‘Rated R’, including ‘Wait Your Turn’ and ‘Hard’, and was joined on stage by rapper Jay-Z for ‘Run This Town’ and ‘Umbrella’.

The 45-minute show at the 02 Academy Brixton was attended by music industry guests and competition winners, but also broadcast live across the internet on the Nokia website.

A guest at the concert told BANG Showbiz: “She may have been away for nine months, but she has certainly not lost anything when it comes to her voice. She sounded incredible, hit every note and completely owned the stage.

“She also had two backing dancers dressed in hijabs. She pulled off some very sexy moves – she even grabbed a mannequin’s crotch at one point!”

Dressed in a provocative leotard and sporting a shock of dyed blonde hair, Rihanna was backed by a live band, showcasing a new, more rock orientated sound for her new LP.

The 21-year-old pop star recently revealed she sought solace in the recording studio following the vicious assault by Chris – which left her battered and bruised and resulted in Chris being sentenced to six months of community service, 12 months of domestic violence counselling and five years probation.

She said: “When I was given time off in March it was a little crazy. Being at home was driving me mad.

“I couldn’t go anywhere. It was, like, ‘Look at the poor victim!’ So I called my label and said, ‘I’m ready.’ ”

The slender ‘Umbrella’ singer is set to perform in London next week and amazed organisers with her requests for her favourite calorific treats, which totalled more than 7,000 calories, and also included crisps, microwave lasagnes, friend noodles, chicken drumsticks – and an apple.

A show source said: “When it comes to the big US stars, we’re used to getting ridiculously healthy requests. Rihanna was a breath of fresh air. There was none of this carb and gluten-free nonsense.”

The singer is set to release ‘Rated R’ later this month and admits she has felt massively nervous about performing songs written in the aftermath of her assault at the hands of former boyfriend Chris Brown.

The ‘Umbrella’ singer was partying at Los Angeles nightclub The Bank at Wonderland when American Football Braylon Edwards and his teammates sent the expensive drink over to her table.

However, Rihanna refused to accept the gift because she had no idea who they were.

While Rihanna is bought drinks when she goes out, Kiefer Sutherland buys his fans a beverage.

The ‘24’ actor stunned bar staff when he bought all of their customers a drink after he and some crew members of the hit US drama series popped into The Spot in San Pedro, California, after finishing a shoot at seven in the morning.

According to an employee, Kiefer was enjoying scotch and cokes and decided to buy everyone in the venue – about 30 people – leaving him with a $500 bar bill.

The ‘Umbrella’ singer – who was left battered and bruised after her ex-boyfriend attacked her in February at a pre-Grammys party – says she had convinced herself it wouldn’t happen again and wanted to give their relationship another go.

She told US TV show ‘Good Morning America’: “I was so far in love, so unconditional that I went back. It’s humiliating to say this happened. To accept that? It’s a traumatising experience.

“I stayed. I even went back after he beat me, which was wrong. But again … I’m a human being, and people put me on a very unrealistic pedestal. And all these expectations, I’m not perfect. Also it’s pretty natural for that to be the first reaction. … It’s completely normal to go back. You start lying to yourself. The minute the physical wounds go away you want this thing to go away. This is a memory you don’t want to have ever again.”

Meanwhile, Chris blames his lack of anger management on the attack but still couldn’t believe he had assaulted her.

He said: “My thoughts are like, ‘Why did it happen?’ Like, ‘What was I thinking? What is wrong with you?’ That’s what I’m thinking with myself.

“That’s what my thoughts are, basically, now.”

Chris attacked Rihanna in his car as they left a pre-Grammy Awards party in February, repeatedly punching her in the face and biting her arms.

He pleaded guilty to assault and in August was sentenced to six months of community service, 12 months of domestic violence counselling and five years probation.

The judge also issued a restraining order which requires him to stay at least 100 yards from Rihanna for five years.

The ‘Umbrella’ singer – who was left bruised after her then-boyfriend assaulted her in his car after a pre-Grammy Awards party in February – believes the horrifying ordeal has made her stronger because it was so unexpected.

She said: “I’ve definitely emerged stronger. Going through a rough experience like that makes you tougher and to get through it takes a lot of guts. I’m naturally a survivor, but it’s been hard. Just when you think somebody was perfect and that it can’t happen to you, it does.”

Rihanna, 21, has never spoken about the incident until recently, and says she has finally opened up because she feels she has a duty to those who look at her as a role model.

She explained to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “With any big life experience, it makes you more resilient. Many people go through something real like this. To sufferers, it’s almost as if you’re not allowed to talk about it.”

“I like to think that from the beginning of my career, people have looked up to me. Hopefully this story is something else that people can take inspiration from. I want to send a message to young women who have been through this sort of violence that there is help out there.”

The ‘Umbrella’ hitmaker was astonished by the attention she attracted after she was abused by her then-boyfriend in February, likening it to that of which the ‘Womanizer’ singer received following her well-publicised breakdown in 2007.

She said: “I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears. That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day.”

Despite the horrific attack and subsequent publicity it generated, the 21-year-old singer is trying to remain positive and wants to be a role model for other women experiencing similar ordeals.

She added: “The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that.

“I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard.

“Domestic violence is a big secret. No kid goes around and lets people know their parents fight.

“Teenage girls can’t tell their parents that their boyfriend beat them up. You don’t dare let your neighbour know that you fight.

“It’s one of the things women will hide, because it’s embarrassing. My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery.”

Chris attacked Rihanna in his car as they left a pre-Grammy Awards party in February, repeatedly punching her in the face and biting her arms.

He pleaded guilty to assault and in August was sentenced to six months of community service, 12 months of domestic violence counselling and five years probation.
