Taylor Momsen has apologised to her parents for claiming they ruined her childhood

The 17-year-old Pretty Reckless singer has previously said she appeared “miserable” because her parents forced her to work constantly since she was two years old but after they were hurt by her comments she has begun to backtrack.

She told Kerrang: “I love my mom and dad. Maybe I didn’t have the childhood people think you should have, but I still went through the ages. I was still a child. Maybe it wasn’t a conventional one, but you know… I like where I am now, so it’s OK. I think my parents have learned by this point that none of [what they read] is probably true, and words can be put in your mouth.”

The controversial ‘Gossip Girl’ star also admitted she finds fame difficult to deal with, comparing it to high school but on a much larger scale.

She said: “If you think about it like high school or college then you’ve got your circle of friends – my band [guitarist Ben Phillips, bassist Mark Damon and drummer Jamie Perkins] are my friends – then outside of that there’s going to be people that don’t like you, there’s going to be people that talk about you, and there’s going to be people that go ‘Wow! Look how big her shoes are!’ no matter where you are.

“This is just high school on a massive, massive scale. So I ignore what people say and focus on my music and doing what I do.”

Nicole Richie didn’t invite Paris Hilton to her wedding because she only wanted to have guests “who care” about her

The socialite tied the knot with long-term partner Joel Madden on Saturday (14.12.10) in front 130 of her closest friends and family, but her former best friend was notable by her absence.

Explaining why Paris wasn’t invited, Nicole said: “We only wanted to celebrate with the people who we love and who care about us.”

Nicole and Joel – who have two children, Harlow, two, and 15-month-old Sparrow, together – married at the Beverly Hills estate of her father Lionel Richie, and the 29-year-old beauty admits her dad was delighted by the couple’s union.

She told Germany’s In magazine: “My dad calls Joel my Prince Charming. And that’s what he is!”

Nicole – who wore three different Marchesa gowns on her big day – was also delighted to have children involved in the ceremony, which was held under a tent transformed to resemble a French garden.

She added: “Joel let me organise my dream wedding.

“Harlow didn’t sprinkle the flowers, she just kept putting handfuls of them on the floor. Sparrow was the ring-bearer.”

Sources have previously insisted Paris – who has been friends with Nicole since they were just two years old – was not upset about not being invited to the nuptials.

One insider said: “She and Nicole aren’t close anymore, but there are no hard feelings there. They just grew up and apart.”

Eva Mendes says marriage is “boring” to her

The ‘Other Guys’ star has been in a relationship with Peruvian filmmaker George Augusto since 2002 but insists she has no plans to tie the knot, not now or in the future.

She said: “No, no, no. I don’t know if I want children, but the idea of marriage sounds very boring to me. I have to be honest. And no disrespect, because I think marriage is a beautiful institution … I am extremely romantic but I think there is that little rebel inside me that is anti-establishment. It’s just one more fun thing I can rebel against.”

Although she isn’t keen on walking down the aisle herself, the 36-year-old actress loves going to other people’s nuptials.

And when she attends a wedding, Eva can’t stop herself from hitting the dancefloor and showing off her unique moves.

She added in an interview with Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “I love going to a wedding. I do this thing – I call it wedding dancing. I don’t know what happens to me but I just dance in a way that I’ve never danced before. I’m the best person to have at your wedding but I just don’t ever want to be the actual person getting married.”

Kate Winslet believes she could “get married” to her new boyfriend

The 34-year-old actress has completely fallen for male model Louis Dowler, who is also 34, and has been contemplating their future together.

A friend told Britain’s Grazia magazine: “As far as Kate is concerned, they could go all the way together – get married, have kids. She’s the happiest we’ve ever seen her, he really brings out a wonderful, carefree side to her that we haven’t seen for years.”

Kate separated from her film director husband Sam Mendes after almost seven years of marriage in March and the break-up reportedly hit her hard.

But Louis – who started dating the ‘Revolutionary Road’ star in July -has brought a smile back to the Oscar winner’s face and she has never been happier.

A source said: “It wasn’t that long ago that Kate was heartbroken. But we’re all so happy to see her back to herself – and looking sensational.”

It was recently reported that Kate had asked Louis to live with her while she films her new movie ‘Contagion’ in Chicago, because she doesn’t want to have a long distance relationship with him.

A source said: “They have discussed the idea of Louis going with her while she films so they won’t have to endure a long-distance relationship at such an early stage in what seems to be something pretty serious.”

The British screen beauty currently lives in New York’s Greenwich Village with her two children, six-year-old son Joe, whose father is Sam, and her nine-year-old daughter Mia from her relationship with ex-husband Jim Threapleton.
