Taylor And Her Career Choice
by Abbey on Aug.16, 2011, under Artist
The former ‘Gossip Girl’ star – who has been in movies ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ and ‘Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams’ – has no plans to appear in any more films or TV shows, admitting she just wants to concentrate on her music career with ‘Make Me Wanna Die’ rockers The Pretty Reckless.
When asked if she had any acting roles lined up, she told Elle magazine: “I quit acting, actually. I quit ‘Gossip Girl’ and now tour and am in a band and that’s pretty much all I want to do. Hopefully I’ll be able to only do that for the rest of my life.”
In May, it was confirmed the blonde beauty would not be reprising her role as ‘Gossip Girl’ series regular Jenny Humphrey in the fifth season of the show – which stars Ed Westwick, Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Chace Crawford – along with Jessica Szohr, but it was reported the pair could make guest appearances in future episodes.
Earlier this year, Taylor explained music has always been the main passion in her life.
She said: “[Music] is all I ever wanted to do with my life. I wanted to make records and tour, so it’s very exciting that our first record is coming out and people can actually hear it.”

Taylor Momsen — In Search Of Love?
by Kavy on Feb.18, 2011, under Actress, Artist, Singer
Taylor Momsen wants a boyfriend
The Pretty Reckless singer – who played Jenny Humphrey in TV drama series ‘Gossip Girl’ - is currently focused on her music career but admits she would like to settle down in future.
When asked if she is looking for love, she told BANG Showbiz: “Do I have time to meet guys? Well, at the moment not particularly, I don’t have a boyfriend right now.
“I love what I’m doing and I’m really proud of the record and excited about the tour, which is all positive. But, you know, I’m a girl. It’s not a priority for me but I’m a chick and every girl wants a guy. There’s no-one off the top of my head who takes my fancy though.”
The 17-year-old star – who debut LP, ‘Light Me Up’, is out now – also admitted travelling the world with her band has not been as fun or glamorous as she initially expected it to be.
She explained: “The thing people don’t understand is that touring or travelling or whatever you do in my position means you go to all these cool places all over the world but you see everything from a car window. You don’t get to see much of the city or meet people at all. It’s different to how I would have thought it would be. It’s not just about the parties.”

What Taylor Momsen Hates?
by Kavy on Feb.05, 2011, under Actress, Artist, Entertainment, Singer
Taylor Momsen hates adopting other artists’ style
The Pretty Reckless singer is a big fan of gothic rock but insists the music featured on the group’s album ‘Light Me Up’ comes from her own ideas and inspiration.
She said: “Musically, I grew up among a lot of gothic rock but I don’t like to take on the style of other artists too much, that’s not the point of it. “You know, the record is very much written about my life and what I know, what I feel, what I’ve experienced and all that stuff. It’s a very honest record, I guess.”
The 17-year-old star is looking forward to going on the road with her band – but warned fans to be ready for a surge in volume. She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: “Hopefully we’ll have a lot of fun, it’s all about us and the fans having a good time. We’re going to rock it out! We’re going to have a couple of upcoming and local bands supporting us which is really important to us. In terms of The Pretty
Reckless though fans should prepare themselves for it to be loud!” The Pretty Reckless’ album, ‘Light Me Up’, is available in the UK now and the US from Monday (08.02.11). They will embark on a US tour in support of the record from 11 February.

Momsen 2 Mom & Dad
by Kavy on Jan.14, 2011, under Artist, Entertainment, Singer, updates
Taylor Momsen has apologised to her parents for claiming they ruined her childhood
The 17-year-old Pretty Reckless singer has previously said she appeared “miserable” because her parents forced her to work constantly since she was two years old but after they were hurt by her comments she has begun to backtrack.
She told Kerrang: “I love my mom and dad. Maybe I didn’t have the childhood people think you should have, but I still went through the ages. I was still a child. Maybe it wasn’t a conventional one, but you know… I like where I am now, so it’s OK. I think my parents have learned by this point that none of [what they read] is probably true, and words can be put in your mouth.”
The controversial ‘Gossip Girl’ star also admitted she finds fame difficult to deal with, comparing it to high school but on a much larger scale.
She said: “If you think about it like high school or college then you’ve got your circle of friends – my band [guitarist Ben Phillips, bassist Mark Damon and drummer Jamie Perkins] are my friends – then outside of that there’s going to be people that don’t like you, there’s going to be people that talk about you, and there’s going to be people that go ‘Wow! Look how big her shoes are!’ no matter where you are.
“This is just high school on a massive, massive scale. So I ignore what people say and focus on my music and doing what I do.”

Taylor Momsen Talks About Fame
by cyan on Dec.29, 2010, under Actress
Taylor Momsen feels like a “product”.
The 17-year-old singer-and-actress – who appeared in her first commercial when she was just three years old – believes she has learned more about herself and her career as she has got older.
She said: “You get more insight as you get older, on everything.
“I kind of woke up one morning and was like, ‘Oh I see what’s happening, I get everything.’
“I woke up and was like, ‘I get it, I’m a product.’ “
The Pretty Reckless singer – who achieved widespread fame aged 14 after starring in US drama series ‘Gossip Girl’ – wasn’t prepared for fame but insists she doesn’t worry about living her life in the spotlight or what other people think of her.
She added: “Fame just kind of happens overnight. No one prepares you for it. On ‘Gossip Girl’, I was just going to work, doing what I’ve always done, and then all of a sudden you’re like, ‘Woah!’
“But you get used to it. You ignore it – because whatever people say about me doesn’t bother me at all. If you’re in high school or college or at work, someone’s not going to like you. It’s inevitable. But it doesn’t mean anything.”

Taylor Momsen — “If it’s a good sex tape…”
by Alice on Oct.15, 2010, under Actress, Artist, Entertainment, Singer
Taylor Momsen likes watching sex tapes
The 17-year-old wild child – who has been criticized in the past for her provocative outfits and outrageous behavior – admitted while she has a couple of personal favorites, she doesn’t think the Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee effort is very good.
She said: “If it’s a good sex tape, I’ll watch it. I like some adult stars. I have a couple of favourites. But I will say this, that Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson video wasn’t very good. I wouldn’t f**k Tommy Lee.”
The Pretty Reckless frontwoman also revealed she found it “funny” that reality TV star Heidi Montag picked up ‘Blackout’ – a song Taylor wrote at the age of eight – for her single.
She added to Revolver magazine: “I wrote a pop song called ‘Blackout’ when I was 8 and recorded it with a producer as a demo.
“Heidi Montag from ‘The Hills’ just recently sang it and put it out as her single. I’m like , ‘OK, dude, you’re singing an 8-year-old’s words, but that’s cool,’. It’s so funny because I didn’t shop it or anything and I get this call going, ‘Did you write a song for Heidi Montag?’ and I’m like, ‘What?”’

Why Taylor Momsen Is Obsessed With Fire?
by Alice on Sep.07, 2010, under Actress, Artist, Band, Entertainment, Singer
Singer-and-actress Taylor Momsen loves setting things on fire – but sometimes takes her habit too far.
The singer-and-actress stuns her bandmates in the Pretty Reckless with her desire to incinerate random objects, though they think she occasionally goes too far.
Guitarist Ben Phillips revealed: “Taylor loves setting things on fire, so this is great. Taylor thinks we’re some rock ’n’ roll bada*ses. In the studio, there was this pit where the owner would burn stuff. We’d burn old keyboards, computers, stuff them full of TNT and set them on fire. Taylor loves fire…
“I shouldn’t say this. One morning, Taylor got into the studio really early – she’d just had her dog neutered and brought in the bits. Which she then burned. We were grossed out.”
Despite her unusual habit, the 17-year-old star insists she is not a bad person or as difficult as she has been perceived, arguing she is just a typical teenager.
She told heat magazine: “I do smile when things are funny. I’m quite moody, I’m a teenager and I’m PMS-ing all the f***ing time, what do you expect? I am quite moody and I have an interesting life and I get my picture taken 24/7, and it’s not always pleasurable. I am really moody, but I’m not a mean person. I’m actually nice.”
The ‘Gossip Girl’ actress also defended her reputation for wearing “provocative” clothing, insisting she is being “rock ‘n’ roll”.
She said: “I’m 17. Aren’t I supposed to be provocative? I don’t really understand what the problem is. I know I dress provocatively on stage, but it’s just rock ’n’ roll. Like, I don’t really understand what the big deal is.”

Why Taylor Momsen Says “Sharing a toilet with 50 bands is pretty nasty”
by Abbey on Aug.28, 2010, under Actress, Artist, Band, Entertainment, Singer
Taylor Momsen hates sharing a toilet
The singer-and-actress admits that there are huge differences between her role in US drama series ‘Gossip Girl’ and touring with her band.
The Pretty Reckless, particularly when it comes to matters of hygene, She said: “The f***ing port-a-potties—on a movie set, you don’t deal with that! Sharing a toilet with 50 bands is pretty nasty.”
The 17-year-old star had no problem with making the transition from TV to music, but admits it could be harder for her fans to accept.
She told Interview magazine: “I’d say that the challenge isn’t on my end, actually. I’ve been singing and writing songs my whole life, but people didn’t know that. It’s up to the public to transition to that reality.”
The blonde beauty also thinks her group’s album ‘Light Me Up’ is quite “dark”, but reflects how she sees life. She explained: “It’s not really a happy record; if anything, it’s sad…..the words are definitely coming from me, and reflect my personal views on certain situations. I write about what I know, what I live, what I observe. Darkness is a subjective word; it depends what your viewpoint is and how you live life.”

Why Taylor Momsen Says “I’m not looking to be Miley f***ing Cyrus”?
by tmz on Jul.07, 2010, under Actress, Band, Singer
Taylor Momsen hates being compared to “Miley f***ing Cyrus”.
The ‘Gossip Girl’ star is now fronting her own band The Pretty Reckless and admits it makes her mad when people say she is the new Miley just because she acts and sings and is a teenager.
Taylor, 16, fumed: “I’m not looking to be Miley f***ing Cyrus. I don’t care about the fame. I do it because I love music. I like making records and if people like them, then we’ll go along for the ride.”
Although the blonde star wants to avoid comparisons with Miley, 17, she insists she doesn’t have a problem with her personally, just the Disney show ‘Hannah Montana’ that catapulted her to fame.
She added to this month’s UK issue of FHM magazine: “I’m not dissing Miley personally. However, I do think the Disney bubblegum s**t that the world is living right now is pathetic. I thought we passed that repression. I don’t know Miley, but musically we’re different. To compare us because of our age is silly.”
Taylor – who writes all her own songs and plays guitar – believes a lot of people will be shocked by her band’s album.
She said: “People will be surprised by the record. I mean, it’s a rock record. I get that there is this blonde thing from ‘Gossip Girl’ and they’re expecting pop s**t, but it’s a rock band and its heavy. Our record is a life record. It confronts everything head on. It’s death, love, drugs, sex, religion, politics.”
