Boyzone are set to release another album by the “end of the year”

The group released their last LP ‘Brother’ – which was dedicated to their late bandmate Stephen Gatelet, who died of natural causes in October 2009 – in March 2010 but now want to start on the follow-up record after being astonished by the positive reception they received on their recent tour.

Singer Ronan Keating said: “We’re in talks right now to do an album before the end of the year.

“We played in Glasgow the other night and it was incredible. Probably the best we’ve ever done. The tour’s been absolutely amazing. We played about 20 nights in huge arenas.

“It’s been new faces at every venue.”

Before he can work on a new Boyzone album, Ronan is currently promoting his latest solo work, ‘When Ronan Met Burt’, covers of tracks penned by Burt Bacharach, who also produced the record.

The 34-year-old star felt “honoured” to work with the legendary songwriter.

Ronan said: “It was a great honour to be asked to work with him – and some of the best musicians in the world – on some of the best songs that have ever been written.

“He spends a lot of time in Europe, touring and collaborating with people, so he’s paying attention. He’s 82 but totally in touch with what’s going on.”

Ronan Keating and his wife Yvonne have sparked speculation they have reunited

The couple – who split in May amid allegations the Boyzone star had cheated on the former model – have been spotted holding hands in Sydney, Australia, accompanied by their children Jack, 11, Marie, nine, and five-year-old Ali.

As well as dining together, Ronan – who is currently a judge on Australian talent search show ‘The X Factor’ – and Yvonne were pictured riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle before the 33-year-old singer accompanied his estranged spouse to a local tattoo parlour, holding her hand as she underwent an inking on her hip.

A spokesperson for the couple declined to comment on whether they had rekindled their romance.

However, friends of the pair recently admitted Yvonne’s decision to spend time Down Under with her estranged spouse was an indicator of her desire to reunite with the singer.

A source said: “Their love is strong and Yvonne wanted to give it a second chance and decided to follow him to Australia.

“That time together has done them the world of good and Yvonne has been able to forgive him. It’s what he thinks is best for the children.”

Stephen Gately’s family will scatter his ashes on the first anniversary of his death

The ceremony will be held at a secret location in Ireland on October 10 and will be attended by his bandmate Keith Duffy, who has revealed he will be laid to rest in “one of his favourite places”.

The rest of the band – Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham and Shane Lynch – will be in Australia at the time.

Stephen died at his home in Majorca aged 33 from an undiagnosed heart condition.

His bandmates were heavily involved in the arrangements for his body to be returned to the group’s native Ireland and stayed with him overnight at St Laurence O’Toole’s church in Dublin, where his funeral was held, because they didn’t want Stephen to be alone.

They also organised a 12-hour wake for him which was attended by fellow Irish boy band Westlife, members of Take That and Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish.

After the wake Shane said: “We gave Stephen the farewell he deserved. We all deal with grief in our own way, and this was our way.

“It was a brilliant night, fitting for a brilliant person. We will never forget him.”

The band also named their fourth album ‘Brother’ in tribute to him.

Stephen’s civil partner Andrew Cowles received £1 million from his estate after his death, as he did not have a will, although Andrew has said he wanted the money to go to either his family or charity.

The Boyzone singer – whose 12-year union with former model Yvonne was rocked by revelations he had had an affair with a dancer – has been working as a judge on Australian TV talent show ‘The X Factor’ and says the break from their native Ireland has given the couple the chance to repair their fractured relationship.

Ronan – who has children Jack, 11, Marie, nine, and Ali, four, with Yvonne – said: “We’ve been left to our own devices but we are now a happy family. It’s all good, thank God.”

Friends of the couple are thrilled that Yvonne has agreed to give the ‘Life is a Rollercoaster’ hitmaker a second chance and believe their temporary move Down Under is the best thing that could have happened.

Ronan Keating is trying to “repair” his marriage by moving house.

The Boyzone singer – who recently separated from former model Yvonne following revelations of an affair with 26-year-old dancer Francine Cornell – is hoping to put the couple’s problems behind them by making a fresh start in the property in Malahide, Ireland.

A source revealed to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Ronan and Yvonne actually started house hunting in February.

“An offer was put in before news of his fling emerged. Contracts have only been exchanged recently though.

“They have sped up the moving process as Ronan is desperate to make a fresh start and repair their marriage once and for all. He is so regretful for his indiscretions and really does not want to lose his family life.

“The mansion is a way of creating fresh memories and rebuilding lives.”

Removal vans have been seen at their Dublin home over the weekend and taken the couple’s belongings to the new property, which is located three miles away from their current abode.

Earlier in the week the pair are believed to have put on a united front when they dined together with their three children Jack, 11, Marie, nine and Ali, four, at a lavish Chinese restaurant.

Although he is ambitious to break into acting, Ronan has no plans to quit music and is loving working with Boyzone again, who were rocked last October when member Stephen Gately died suddenly.

I don’t want to eliminate that possibility but currently Boyzone is my priority. I just love to work with the guys.”

The group – consisting of Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham and Shane Lynch – performed at Ronan’s Emerald and Ivy Ball in Battersea, south London, on Saturday night (21.11.09) where Stephen’s grieving husband took to the stage to pay tribute to the late pop star.

Also during the evening Ronan performed alongside Take That star Gary Barlow.

The pair sang a rendition of ‘Back For Good’ – which Take That topped the UK charts with in 1995 – to the cheering audience.

The bash is an annual event in aid of the Marie Keating Foundation which Ronan and his family set up when his mother Marie died of breast cancer in 1998.

It raised £650,000 for charity Cancer Research UK.

Stephen died aged 33 from an acute pulmonary oedema, a build-up of fluid in the lungs, while on holiday with Andy at their villa in Majorca on October 10.

Since his shock passing, his bandmates have regularly spoken out about their devastation at losing their long-time friend.

Ronan recently admitted: “I just feel worn out. I haven’t been sleeping. My brain doesn’t work. My heart’s broken. You just feel crushed. I’ve had good days and bad days.

“The bad days are horrible, it’s like the walls are coming in on top of you. Anxiety I think is what they call it.

“We’ve all been feeling the same way since Stephen passed. Mentally I’m absolutely exhausted.”

Ronan said: “We didn’t want him to be alone in the church and nor did his mother Margaret because he was afraid of the dark.

“We got four sleeping bags and laid with him. It was the most moving experience of my life. It was beautiful. We sat on the pews and we sat on the floor.”

The four singers were determined to stay as close to their late bandmate as possible, and even shunned comforts offered by the priest.

Ronan explained to Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “At one point the priest came up and said, ‘Lads, won’t you lie up on the alter? At least it’s got carpet down.

“But we wouldn’t go up there. It was the only time we’d ever had stage fright.”

Ronan – a devout Catholic – admits Stephen’s sudden death has caused him to question his religious beliefs.

He said: “I just don’t understand t. Where has he gone, why was he taken? I question my faith constantly but I’m a believer so I try to think there must be some sort of logic behind it, that God wanted him.”

He added to Britain’s Observer newspaper: “I’ve never before thought about going to get help with counsellors. For the first time ever I think I should.
“When I lost my mum it was the hardest thing at the time I’d ever known in my life but because she was sick for two years and we were told three months before she died that she had three months left, subconsciously you build a wall, your defence mechanism goes up and you prepare yourself for that.

The Irish group – Ronan Keating, Shane Lynch, Keith Duffy and Mikey Graham – are still mourning the loss of their bandmate, who died of natural causes last month, but are focusing on their work as it makes them miss the singer less.

Ronan told UK TV show ‘GMTV’: “The four of us are sticking together a lot because when we are together we feel like he is in the room almost.”

The singer also spoke about the group’s decision to release a new album, insisting is what their friend would have wanted and believes it is an appropriate tribute to the late star.

He added: “We are going to make a record. There were two songs Stephen had already put vocals on, so we are going to release it for Ste-o. I think it will be out in the first quarter next year.

“More than anything we are so excited about making the record for Stephen, for the fans.”

His bandmate Keith said: “It’s not about Boyzone – we’re putting it out for him because we know he would have wanted that and we think people are really going to like it”

Keith also admitted he broke down in tears the first time he heard the material they are working on.

He said: “I listened to it for the first time with my mum and we ended up bawling.”
