Harry Potter Stars Used 2 Runaway From Their Bodyguards

by Abbey on Nov.22, 2010, under Actor, Actress, Entertainment

Daniel RadcliffeEmma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint used to hide from their bodyguards

The trio – who played Hermione Granger, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise for almost ten years – hated having to be followed wherever they went and so would to try and make an escape as often as possible.

Emma said: “I hate having bodyguards and when we were younger, Dan, Rupert and I used to try to hide from the people trying to keep an eye on us.”

Now the stunning actress – who is juggling her acting and modelling careers with studying at Brown University in America – has learned to accept attention from fans and prefers to go out without any bodyguards as she is often able to go out without being disturbed.

She added: “Now it’s like ‘Really, I’m fine.’ I take the train and the bus and, if I don’t dress up too much, I’m usually fine. Occasionally people stop me but I’d rather deal with that than not go out at all. That’d be really tragic.”

What Rupert Grint Wanted 2 B?

by Alice on Nov.21, 2010, under Actor

Rupert Grint Rupert Grint wanted to be an artist

The ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ star is a big fan of “disturbing” painters and admits he would have pursued a creative career path if his acting career hadn’t taken off.

He said: “If it wasn’t for ‘Harry Potter’ I’d probably be doing art, because I’ve always been into it. I’m regularly drawing, painting, sketching or doodling. It’s pretty much a hobby of mine.

“I quite like surreal artists, like Salvador Dali or Otto Dix. Otto’s paintings are quite disturbing, which is probably why I like them!”

As well as enjoying art, Rupert – who plays Ron Weasley in the film series – also likes to play golf in his free time, and enjoys playing against his ‘Harry Potter’ co-stars.

He explained: “I first got into golf because my dad and a couple of friends played it. A lot of the people on the ‘Harry Potter’ set play golf too, like the twins – James and Oliver Phelps – so I’ve played with them a few times. It’s a really good way of chilling out.”

Is Rupert Grint Looking 4 Love?

by Abbey on Nov.08, 2010, under Actor, Entertainment, Love

Rupert GrintRupert Grint is looking forward to finding love

The 22-year-old actor – who has played schoolboy wizard Ron Weasley in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise since 2001 – admitted being a star from such a young age has hindered his progress on the relationship front, as being so busy made it “difficult” to find romance.

He explained: “It was quite difficult to sustain a relationship, because I was so busy. I went out with people, but never anything too serious. It wasn’t that easy.

“Now it’s something I’m really looking forward to.”

The British star also revealed kissing co-star Emma Watson – who played Hermione Granger – in the final film was “a bit strange”.

He added to The Times magazine: “It was quite a tricky kiss, a bit strange, but quite sweet really.

“It was just one shot, but we had about six takes. It was all right, yeah. Easy after the first take.”

Rupert recently admitted he had found it hard to adjust to life post ‘Harry Potter’, despite the hit movie franchise having taken over his life for many years.

He said: “I haven’t quite adjusted to life without ‘Harry Potter’. I’m really sad actually, I’ve missed it. But I think it’s a good time really to kind of move on. It has been a long time. After ten years, I do kind of want to stretch a bit more and explore different characters and do different things.”

Rupert Grint — “I’m really sad”?

by Abbey on Oct.27, 2010, under Actor, Entertainment, Films

Rupert Grint Rupert Grint “hasn’t adjusted” to life after the ‘Harry Potter’ movies

The 22-year-old actor – who portrayed wizard schoolboy Ron Weasley in the films – admits the films took over his life for years, but he “misses” them enormously.

He told Parade.com: “We had like a big wrap party when we finished and it was really nice to see everyone again from all the films. I haven’t quite adjusted to life without ‘Harry Potter’. I’m really sad actually, I’ve missed it. But I think it’s a good time really to kind of move on. It has been a long time. After ten years, I do kind of want to stretch a bit more and explore different characters and do different things.”

While he loved his time in the films, Rupert admits he doesn’t like how he is portrayed in the final movie ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II’, and has compared the balding red hair he is given with ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ star Donald Trump.

He explained: “I don’t age gracefully in the last film when all of us get older. My hair is still red but I have a lot less of it. It was quite a shock when I saw myself in the mirror. I felt like I was looking at Donald Trump because they gave me that comb over that he has. I did get a lot of ribbing from everyone, I must admit.”

Why Rupert Grint Had Trouble Adjusting…‘Harry Potter’ Movies?

by Alice on Oct.03, 2010, under Actor, Entertainment, Films

Rupert Grint had trouble adjusting to small film sets after working on the ‘Harry Potter’ movies

The flame-haired actor – who plays wizard Ron Weasley in the long-running series based on the novels of J. K. Rowling – was confused when he worked on British projects ‘Cherrybomb’ and ‘Wild Target’ because he had been used to big budget environments.

He told Total Film magazine: “It was quite an adjustment going from ‘Harry Potter’ to doing the low-budget films. It threw me a little – it’s just such a different way of making a film.

“But I prefer the pace of low budgets because it’s much more in the moment.”

The 22-year-old star also reveals he is due to star in a biopic about British ski jumper Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards, but is nervous about it because he has never strapped on a pair of skis in his life.

He said: “It’ll be great if it happens but we’ll see. I’m looking forward to the challenge because he’s such a big character.

“I’ve never skied in my life, so I guess that might be a problem – but I’m sure I’ll pick it up.”

Rupert Grint — “I woke up in a graveyard”

by Kavy on Jun.01, 2010, under Actor

Rupert Grint once got so drunk that he passed out in a graveyard.

The 21-year-old actor – who stars in new comedy ‘Wild Target‘ alongside Bill Nighy and Emily Blunt – admitted he could at times be just as big a party animal as his character in the movie, who wakes up hungover inside a sofa cover in one scene.

He told BANG Showbiz: “I really overdid it once when I woke up in a graveyard. I’d been at my mate’s house, we’d been asleep, then there was alcohol involved and we went out.

“A graveyard really isn’t the nicest place to wake up!”

Despite his impromptu night sleeping next to the tombstones, Rupert – who is best known for his role as Ron Weasley in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise – thinks he has been very fortunate to have managed to keep his partying out of the public eye and not go off the rails in the way many other former child stars have.

Speaking about his ‘Harry Potter’ co-stars Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe – who play Hermione and Harry respectively – he said: “No I’m pretty lucky, I’ve stayed out of it… We all stayed out of it. We kept quite low-key, that’s the way to do it.”

Rupert Grint Hates Watching The Old ‘Harry Potter’ Movies

by Kavy on May.31, 2010, under Actor

Rupert Grint hates watching the old ‘Harry Potter’ movies.

The actor – who portrays Ron Weasley in the wizarding franchise – feels as though his life has been one “big home movie“, and he can’t stand seeing himself go through puberty on-screen.

He told BANG Showbiz: “It is weird I suppose. I’ve not known any different… it’s the way I’ve grown up. You get used to it. It’s weird – like having a big home movie. If the old films are on TV I’ll glimpse slightly, but I’ve never watched one all the way through.”

The 21-year-old star admits he is concerned about being typecast by the series which is why he decided to take on a completely different role in his new comedy ‘Wild Target‘.

He said: “I guess it was one of the reasons I did ‘Wild Target’ because it was kind of a way out… ‘Harry Potter’ is coming to an end, it’s the last one, then it’s all done. It’s a weird feeling because we’ve been so long in this bubble and now we have to walk away from it all. It’s important to do different things and stretch out.”

Rupert also compared his transition through the movies as “graduating” through school and coming out the other side a better actor.
He said: “I hope so, I didn’t know how films were made at first, so you just learn as you go, like a school and all the amazing people you’ve worked with, and now it’s like graduating.”

Rupert Grint Will Never Dye His Hair…

by Abbey on May.28, 2010, under Actor

Rupert Grint is a “proud ginger”.

The actor – who portrays Ron Weasley in the ‘Harry Potter‘ franchise – says fans always recognise him because of his distinctive red locks but insists he will never dye his hair as it would be a “betrayal”.

He told BANG Showbiz: “Do I get recognised? It’s embarrassing; I think it’s my hair. It’s mad, yeah I can go out, but I get recognised all the time… I’ve always been quite a proud ginger so I couldn’t dye it and betray the other gingers.

“Getting recognised is strange, it’s not an easy thing to get your head round, but I’m getting used to it.”

Despite his repeated attempts for some private time with friends, the 21-year-old star is easy to spot because of his unusual vehicle – a customised ice cream van.

He said: “It was always my dream to have one, it’s a fun thing to drive around in. I’ve been everywhere in it but it’s not practical because you do get queues of girls wanting ice cream and I have no stock!”

Rupert Grint Felt “uncomfortable” Being Near-Naked In Front Of Co-Star

by cyan on May.26, 2010, under Actor

Rupert Grint felt really “uncomfortable” being naked in front of Bill Nighy.

The actor – who had to strip off for a scene in the bath in the new comedy ‘Wild Target‘ – admitted he wasn’t very body confident about wearing just underwear in front of his co-star.

He told BANG Showbiz: “It’s quite embarrassing where I had to stand in the bath, I had a jock strap kind of thing, it was weird because it wasn’t water, it was milk… to make the water look cloudy so you couldn’t see anything – we were in a bath of milk.

“Thankfully there weren’t many people on set just me and Bill. He didn’t really say very much, but yes it did feel just a bit uncomfortable for the both of us.”

While the 21-year-old star – who is best known for portraying wizard Ron Weasley in the ‘Harry Potter‘ films – felt awkward about being near-naked in front of his co-star, he isn’t worried about audiences seeing him naked – even though he admits his body isn’t in the best shape.

He added: “It’s embarrassing, I’ve never been to a gym or really done any sports… but I’m not lazy as I’m always working or busy doing something.”

Emma Watson Turns To Daniel Radcliffe When She Needs Support

by cyan on May.05, 2010, under Actress

Emma WatsonEmma Watson turns to Daniel Radcliffe when she needs support.

The ‘Harry Potter’ actress – who plays class swot Hermione Granger in the movie franchise – can always rely on her co-star to make her feel better when she’s feeling down.

She told Vanity Fair magazine: “At the end of the day, when something goes badly, he’s the one I turn to and talk it over with.”

However, she does admit Daniel, who plays Harry, has his faults, saying: “Some of the most interesting conversations I’ve had have been with him. Daniel is incredibly articulate… but he doesn’t budge, so it drives me crazy. I’ll be stumbling into the trailer in the morning, and he’ll be playing something just very loud and abrasive.”

Emma also revealed she found it difficult to hug Daniel in the first ‘Harry Potter’ movie because she was so young.

She said: “You cannot imagine as a nine-year-old girl how embarrassing it is even just to hug a boy. You just don’t do that.”

Emma, 19, is equally as close to Rupert Grint – whose alter-ego in the films is Ron Weasley – and knows she can always rely on him to make her laugh.

She said: “I’d go to Rupert when I needed cheering up. He’s just fun.”

“Harry Potter’ Star Daniel Radcliffe Wants To Start A Family

by Alice on Dec.02, 2009, under Actor, Actress

Daniel Radcliffe

The ‘Harry Potter’ actor – who played the title character in the wizard franchise – is determined to settle down and start a family and plans to take time away from the film industry when he does become a parent.

He said: “I’ve got kids to have at some point. They’re going to keep me busy if I do – which I hope I do at some point. I’m not planning on it soon, but that’s one of the things I’m really looking forward to doing.”

The 20-year-old actor – who is in an on/off relationship with Laura O’Toole – is not the only ‘Harry Potter’ star wondering about life after the film series finishes.

Daniel’s co-star Rupert Grint – who portrays Harry’s best friend Ron Weasley – is scared about spending the rest of his life in the “real world”.

He explained: “It is quite scary when this all ends because we’re stepping out into the real world – it is quite a bubble I suppose, we’ve had these films to do every year and it’s become quite a routine. I’m definitely going to miss it. It’s been a great 10 years.

“I am quite keen to move on and see what else is out there.”

Daniel and Rupert – along with their co-star Emma Watson, who plays their witch friend Hermione Granger – are currently working on the final two installations from the film series.

‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I’ is due out next year, and ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II’ will be released in 2011.
