Naomi Watts (born 28 September 1968) is a British-born, Australian raised actress. Naomi began her career in Australian television, where she appeared in commercials and series, including the soap opera Home and Away, Brides of Christ and the family sitcom Hey Dad..!.

Naomi is known for her roles in films such as Mulholland Drive (2001), The Ring (2002) and 21 Grams (2003), for which she received worldwide attention and an Academy Award nomination. She has also starred in King Kong (2005), where she acted along with Jack Black and Adrien Brody, Eastern Promises (2007), and The International (2009).

Naomi’s career began in Australian television, where she appeared in commercials and series, including the soap opera Home and Away, the award winning mini-series Brides of Christ and the family sitcom Hey Dad..! She was featured in a supporting role in the acclaimed 1991 Australian indie film Flirting, starring future Hollywood up-and-comers Nicole Kidman and Thandie Newton. As Watts made the transition from Australia to the United States, she landed a supporting role in the cult 1995 film Tank Girl, playing the part of “Jet Girl”.

Cheryl Cole is “scared” of Botox.

The 26-year-old singer has no problem with getting older and can’t understand why women her age or younger have the painful anti-wrinkle treatment to keep them looking flawless.

She said: “I try not to worry. I’ve got a few older friends and I always hear them going, ‘How old? 26? Ah, you’re a baby’, and I’m kind of like, ‘Maybe I should embrace it and not worry about looking old’. It scares me when I think that someone women have Botox at 25.”

As well as avoiding cosmetic treatments, the pop star – who recently separated from her soccer star husband Ashley Cole – has also admitted she will not be undergoing any new fitness or beauty regimes in readiness for the summer.

Discussing how she gets herself ready for beach holidays, she told more! magazine: “I just put on a bikini! I wouldn’t put that pressure on myself – you go on holiday to relax. It freaks me out when people ask me that. I’m like, ‘Prepare for the beach? That’s the one time I can scrape back my hair and slob. Don’t ask how I’m prepared! Now I’m worried!”

Naomi Watts didn’t think she had the “personality” to make it in Hollywood.

The ‘Mulholland Drive’ actress struggled to get her big break in the entertainment industry and admits the constant knock backs took their toll on her confidence.

She explained: “You know it’s true what people say about looks. You must have more than just looks, you must have personality too. I didn’t have that confidence and it affected the way people perceived me.

“I’d been slogging away in Hollywood for five years getting nowhere. At castings I was constantly told I wasn’t talented enough, I wasn’t right, I wasn’t beautiful enough, I was nowhere near sexy enough.”

Despite her struggles, the 41-year-old star refused to give up on her dream and was inspired by the successes of her close friend, ‘The Hours’ actress Nicole Kidman.

She added to She magazine: “I thought about quitting acting and took other jobs – in restaurants, on magazines – but nothing gave me the same feeling. I was often down to my last $200. Nicole actually gave me hope. She’d tell me that it would only take one film, one casting and everything would change.”

The ‘Taking Woodstock’ actor has joked he is envious of his partner of four years, Naomi Watts – who he two children with  – because she dresses up in glamorous outfits when she appears on the big screen.

The 42-year-old star is currently rehearsing for ‘A View from the Bridge’ Broadway show, where he will star alongside Scarlett Johansson – who is married to Ryan Reynolds.

When asked if it is awkward to be busier than their partners, Scarlett quipped: “I don’t think Naomi is going for the same roles as Liev!”

When Liev confessed to wanting “a couple of roles she’s played,” Scarlett jokingly suggested it was so he could “wear the heels and the jewellery.”

Liev confirmed: “Yeah!”

While he longs for a more feminine role, the actor-and-director feels there is no time for jealousy now he is a father to two-year-old Alexander and Samuel, one.

He told America’s Time Out magazine: “Kids make a big difference. You want to be there all the time, and when you’re both working, it’s hard. You gotta negotiate with each other and support each other in that regard.

“I think it’s harder when both of you are really busy. Like in any profession, it’s difficult. You want to make sure you have time to invest in your family. It’s a challenge but it’s worth it.”
