Naomi Campbell is reportedly engaged

The British model and her long-term boyfriend, Russian billionaire Vladislav Doronin let off £50,000 of fireworks while on holiday in Greece and “hinted” they were now set to wed.

A guest at the Elounda Beach hotel in Crete, where the couple moored their boat, said: “Naomi and her boyfriend set of £50,000 worth of fireworks over a 20 minute period.

“She was brimming with excitement and hinted they were engaged. She was telling guests it was time to celebrate ‘their little secret’. Naomi had the most incredible ring on. Everyone was commenting on how genuinely excited she seemed.”

Fellow holidaymakers also got to enjoy the display in the Mediterranean Sea, with the guest adding it was the most amazing they had ever seen.

The visitor told the Daily Star newspaper: “She said they were celebrating something that would send their message to the stars with a spectacular display of fireworks.

“People came out of the hotels all around the bay and up the mountain to watch. It was the most incredible display I’ve ever seen.”

The 41-year-old beauty has previously professed a love of strong men, admitted she is attracted to people who know their own minds.

She said: “I like men that are strong. I like the men to wear the pants. I like strong men that know what they want, know what they are doing, that tell me what to do. I cannot tell Vlad what to do.”

The supermodel had been accused of punching limousine driver Miodrag Mejdina in the back of the head yesterday (02.03.10), but according to the New York Police Department (NYPD) officers are not interested in speaking to her about the incident.
A police spokesperson told Radar Online: “There were no arrests in the Campbell matter, and we have no intention of talking to her.”
The 39-year-old supermodel allegedly become enraged with her 27-year-old driver – who had been hired for the day – as he drove her through Manhattan, New York, and fled the vehicle on foot when he stopped to report her to authorities.
In response to the claims, her representative Jeff Raymond said: “There shouldn’t be a rush to judgement. Naomi will cooperate voluntarily, and there is more to the story than meets the eye.”
New York police issued a ‘harassment report’ over the incident because no officer witnessed what took place. It does not carry any penalty.
Authorities later confirmed the driver had decided not to pursue the matter, meaning Naomi is unlikely to face any charges.

The 40-year-old fashion designer – whose celebrity fans include Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell – was found dead at his London home just days after the death of his beloved mother and just three years after his close friend Isabella Blow took her life.

A source at his London office confirmed to the Mail Online: “It is a tragic loss. We are not making a comment at this time out of respect for the McQueen family.”

McQueen – who was born in London’s East End – was named British Designer of the Year on four occasions between 1996 and 2003 and made clothes for a whole range of high-profile stars, including Britain’s Prince Charles.

He was also awarded a CBE as well as being named International Designer of the Year at the Council of Fashion Designer Awards.

Late style icon Isabella – who killed herself in May 2007 after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer – was widely credited with discovering him as a young designer, helping him on the way to his global success.

However, McQueen – who was openly gay and once described himself as the “pink sheep of the family” – was forced to deny rumours there was a rift between the pair at the time of her tragic death.

He said: “It’s so much b******s. These people just don’t know what they’re talking about. They don’t know me. They don’t know my relationship with Isabella. It’s complete bulls**t.

“People can talk; you can ask her sisters.… That part of the industry, they should stay away from my life, or mine and Isabella’s life. What I had with Isabella was completely disassociated from fashion, beyond fashion.”
