Simon Cowell reportedly split from fiancee Mezhgan Hussainy last month

The music mogul – who recently said he was “not sure” if he was still engaged to the make-up artist – is said to have called time on their relationship a few weeks ago although the break-up was amicable.

A source told The Mail on Sunday newspaper: “Simon and Mezhgan split up in August. He called it off and she wasn’t that surprised or even very bothered about it. Mezhgan told her friends she knew it had been coming for a while. She offered him the ring back but he has insisted she keep it.

“As with all his exes, he is being very generous, but he is already dating again and he has been on a dinner date or two with a mystery British brunette.”

Mezhgan – who put on a united front with Simon at the premiere of the US version of ‘The X Factor’ last week – is now living in Simon’s $5 million Beverly Hills home after moving out of the house they once shared.

The property is dubbed his “girlfriend graveyard” by friends because it is where his former lover Terri Seymour went after the pair separated in 2008.

Sources claim one of the reasons the couple – who got engaged last February after a whirlwind romance – split was because Mezhgan didn’t get on that well with Simon’s beloved mother Julie.

One said: “Simon knew it wasn’t going to end in marriage. There were commitment issues on his part and the added problem that Mezhgan didn’t get on all that well with Simon’s mother Julie.

“The pair would often argue about how Mezhgan spoke to him.”

Simon Cowell’s fiancee wants him to hide his “protruding nipples”.

The music mogul – who is famed for his plain white T-shirts and high-waisted trousers – has allegedly been forced to take fashion advice from his make-up artist fiancee Mezhgan Hussainy because she’s fed of seeing his oversized ‘man boobs’ bulging out of his tight tops.

A source told the National Enquirer magazine: “Mezhgan started helping Simon pick out his clothes, and it’s made a huge difference. She detests those tight T-shirts he used to wear. She’s got great taste and, fortunately, it’s starting to rub off on Simon.”

Simon’s make-over is certainly set to be a hit with his friends.

Dannii Minogue, Simon’s fellow judge on UK TV talent show ‘The X Factor‘ has previously blasted his “uncool” and boring dress sense, and urged him to stop wearing T-shirts.

She said: “He’s letting the side down a bit. We just need him to ditch the boring trousers and T-shirts.

“It’s so much fun dressing up. I think it’s a really important part of the show – the contestants come along expecting a special day.”

Mezhgan Hussainy is “too nice” for Simon Cowell

Simon’s fellow ‘X Factor’ judge Louis Walsh has joked the beautiful make-up artist is too good for the music mogul, but claims the relationship has had one unusual effect on his 50-year-old pal.

He joked: “I looked at some pictures of Simon when he was on ‘Pop Idol’ all those years ago and he looks older then than he does now. Maybe it’s down to Mezhgan’s make-up skills. You decide.

“She is a lovely woman. She deserves better. She is too nice for him.”

Louis, 57, is very excited about the upcoming nuptials, and is especially looking forward to seeing what the couple will be wearing.

He said: “I am sure it will be camp. I can’t wait to see which one is wearing the gown!”

Simon’s ex-girlfriend Sinitta recently claimed the ‘American Idol’ judge was going to have a Salvador Dali-themed wedding, with decor inspired by the Spanish surrealist painter’s famous melting clocks from his best-known work ‘The Persistence of Memory’.

She said: “What Simon wants, Simon gets. The theme of the wedding is Miracles Do Happen – Simon getting married just goes to prove it.

“It will be a pretty surreal do – Salvador Dali-inspired. There’ll be angels and all sorts everywhere.”

Sinitta has promised not to upstage Mezhgan Hussainy at her wedding to Simon Cowell.

The ‘So Macho’ hitmaker, who has previously dated the music mogul, insists she won’t try and stand out by wearing an attention-grabbing outfit, like the infamous palm leaf dress she wore on UK TV talent show ‘The X Factor’.

She said: “What will I wear to the wedding? Oh my gosh. It’s going to be Mezhgan’s day so I don’t think I’m going to be trying to upstage her. The after-party however…”

Despite reports claiming Sinitta is helping her close pal plan his wedding, she insisted she is just going as a guest who will be “proud” of her friend.

She told BANG Showbiz: “It’s not me organising it, it’s actually another friend. I just get to turn up and support my little boy Simon. I’m just gonna turn up and keep pinching myself that it’s actually happening. I’m really pleased. It’s a big deal.

“I was like, ‘Simon, you are going to end up a very, very, very, very old man, with all of us chicks all around you’. They are in love and it’s cool.”

Amanda Holden, who works with the music mogul on UK TV show ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, claims her friend is “different” since he started romancing the make-up artist.
She said: “He has always been relaxed and he is always very tactile with me, or whatever girls sit next to him, but he’s different.
“He’d lean back in his chair at the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ auditions and look at Mezhgan. It’s very sweet.”
Amanda has given her seal of approval to Mezhgan, saying they hit it off straight away and have quickly developed a strong bond.
Amanda added: “She is lovely. She is a real girl’s girl. She’ll come and hug me and say, ‘Oh you look fantastic, where did you get those shoes from?’
“She just wants to be your friend, which I think is lovely because some girls can be horrid to other girls. She’s not like that – she’s smashing.”

The music mogul has been persuaded by the ‘Bleeding Love’ singer – who he mentored on UK TV talent show ‘The X Factor’ in 2006 – to support Sir Paul McCartney’s Meat Free Mondays campaign, in which people give up eating animal products once a week.

Leona – who met the Beatles legend at the end of last year to discuss getting Simon involved – said: “Anything I ask Simon to get involved in regarding my charity and environmental concerns he always does. He’s cool like that.”

Simon – who recently got engaged to make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy – joins other committed vegetarian stars Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, Kevin Spacey and Woody Harrelson in supporting Paul’s cause.

Leona is a long-term vegetarian and has even banned meat from being served on her upcoming tour because she is so against the butchering of animals.

She said: “The meat industry is polluting the environment. I’ve banned meat from all photo shoots to the tour itself simply because I don’t support the meat industry.”
