Nick Cannon finds fatherhood “amazing”

The ‘America’s Got Talent’ host and wife Mariah Carey became parents to twins Moroccan Scott and Monroe in April and the presenter is loving every minute of being a dad.

He said: “There is no ‘worst’ part at all. Everything is amazing about fatherhood. The best part is when they communicate with you and they recognise you. It’s the best.”

While Nick enjoys his work, he admits he hadn’t realised how difficult he would find going out without the twins and his 41-year-old wife.

He told America’s OK! magazine: “It’s the toughest thing in the world – leaving my family in general, not just my children, but my wife.

“Knowing that she is there with them being mommy, I don’t want to miss any of those moments!”

Nick is impressed with Mariah’s weight loss since giving birth and even believes she will be able to shed the pounds to regain the figure she had when she was 20 years old.

He said: “She is getting it off. She is about to be 1990 again!”

Mariah Carey is “done” with having children

The 41-year-old singer – who gave birth to twins Moroccan Scott and Monroe in April – has threatened to “kill” husband Nick Cannon if he makes her give birth again.

He said: “I want some (more), but I think my wife’s done. I tried to say, ‘Yo, let’s go for another round!’ and she’s like, ‘I’ll kill you!’”

In celebration of the birth of the twins, the TV presenter gave his wife a pink and white diamond necklace to commemorate the happy occasion.

Speaking to TV show ‘Extra’, Nick added: “It says Moroccan and Monroe in pink and white diamonds. My wife has so much jewellery, so I’ve got to be really creative when I give gifts.”

However, the ‘America’s Got Talent’ host admitted the tots are both living up to their names, with his son adopting a “tough” character and his daughter already showing “diva” tendencies.

Nick, 30, said: “My son Roc lives up to his name. He’s a tough guy. He’s already crawling. And then my daughter, she’s just a diva.”

Mariah Carey Twins Probe — Case Closed

The L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services has just wrapped up it’s interview with Mariah Carey and has concluded there is no merit to the investigation — sources connected with DCFS tell TMZ.

We’re told DCFS social workers interviewed Mariah and spent time with the twins — and concluded the children were in a healthy and safe environment.

The investigation was triggered by an anonymous phone call to DCFS complaining that Mariah drank a Guinness beer while she was breast feeding.

As we reported, Mariah was informed by a hospital staffer that drinking a dark beer would assist her in lactating. We’re told Mariah informed social workers she simply followed the hospital staffer’s advice and drank the Guinness, never hiding the fact that she consumed the drink.

We’re told Mariah’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, was present during the DCFS interview today.

Our DCFS sources say officials have concluded there is no merit to the complaint.

Children’s Services Visits Mariah Carey

Social workers from the LA County Department of Children and Family Services will arrive at Mariah Carey’s house any moment to conduct a formal interview with the singer — after receiving an anonymous complaint that she drank a beer while breast feeding … TMZ has learned.

DCFS launched the investigation after someone complained Mariah drank a Guinness in the hospital after giving birth to her twins. We’re told DCFS social workers will ask Mariah about the incident and interview others in the house as well.

The investigation is curious because hospital workers were closely monitoring Mariah and fully saw what was going on in her room. Sources tell us someone from the hospital told Mariah it would be beneficial to drink a dark beer — like a Guinness — to assist her in lactating.

We’re told Mariah took the advice and drank a Guinness and in no way hid what she was doing from hospital staff — assuming it was fine to do.

Several people connected with DCFS are privately critical of the agency for honing in on anonymous tips against celebrities … and devoting “extensive resources” when the agency should be looking at serious cases of abuse.

Mariah Carey likes to sit in the nursery built for her unborn twins and stare at the ceiling

The ‘Hero’ singer – who is expecting a boy and a girl with husband Nick Cannon – has created a room with her decorators which celebrates their individuality while also incorporating some of her own taste, and she loves it so much she often goes into it to think about the children’s’ future.

She said: “I wanted to create a beautiful, tranquil, cosy environment for the babies. Everything matches, but pieces are individualised to celebrate the twins as separate entities.

“The ceiling has orangey-pink clouds in a blue sky with golden stars twinkling. It’s based on two songs I wrote that are fan favourites, ‘Underneath the Stars’ and ‘Close My Eyes’

“Sometimes I just sit in the nursery and stare at the ceiling because I love it so much. To me, it symbolises wanting my children to dream as big as possible and to let their imaginations be unbridled.”

Mariah is expecting the twins to arrive within the next few weeks, and hopes she will be able to learn from them as they grow.

She told Life & Style magazine: “Being a mother is probably the hardest job in the world. I feel like, in a lot of ways, children come into the world to teach us.

“It’s going to be a delicate balance between raising them around glitz and glamour and keeping them grounded. One thing I’m sure of is that I’ll be grateful for the twins every day, no matter what.”

The 41-year-old singer recently revealed the twins had different personalities, with the boy taking after Nick while the girl was more like Mariah.

She said: “You can tell the personalities a bit. In viewing our ultrasounds, our boy is all ready like Nick, like, ‘Here I am, take my picture or don’t, and our girl is coyly facing the other way, like, ‘No pictures,’ waiting for a proper debut.”

Mariah Carey’s new song will raise money for human rights issues

The singer – who recently admitted she felt “horrible and embarrassed” about being paid $1 million to sing for the son of Libya’s Colonel Gaddafi – plans to donate the proceeds from her new song ‘Save the Day’ to human rights causes and may even set up her own charitable foundation.

This is not the first time the pregnant pop star – who is expecting twins with her husband Nick Cannon – has donated money to charity, her singles ‘Hero’ and ‘One Sweet Day’ have generated millions for good causes.

Mariah released a statement yesterday (04.03.11) admitting her embarrassment at giving a private performance for family members of dictator Gaddafi – who has been linked to terrorist activity and accused of running a brutal regime over his people for 40 years – at a party in the Caribbean in 2006 and vowed to be careful about who she works for in future.

She said: “I was naive and unaware of who I was booked to perform for. I feel horrible and embarrassed to have participated in this mess.

“Ultimately we as artists are to be held accountable. Going forward, this is a lesson for all artists to learn from. We need to be more aware and take more responsibility regardless of who books our shows.”

Mariah Carey has come up with a unique way to deal with her pregnancy cravings

The 40-year-old singer is currently pregnant with twins and her husband Nick Cannon revealed he is in more danger than his wife of putting on weight during the pregnancy because she keeps cooking food and then refusing to eat it.

He explained: “I think she’s figured out brilliantly that when she craves stuff she doesn’t necessarily have to eat it. When she cooks, she cooks everything from scratch and then the cravings go away. So I get stuck with eating all the food. I’ll be gaining weight during this pregnancy.”

Nick, 30, also revealed he is in awe of his wife and admitted she is handling expectant parenthood much better than he is.

He told RadarOnline: “She’s holding up beautifully. To see this strength! It’s a different type of strength to carry around two babies. She’s not even concerned with her aches and pains which I’m sure are great. She’s so nurturing right now. It’s wonderful. It’s amazing to see.”

The ‘We Belong Together’ singer – who is believed to be expecting her first child with husband Nick Cannon – has recorded her second festive LP, entitled ‘Merry Christmas II You’, and will release it on November 2.

Produced by ‘American Idol’ judge Randy Jackson, James Poyser, Jermaine Dupri and award-winning composer Marc Shaiman the LP will feature Yule-tide classics such as ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’, ‘The First Noel’ and ‘Little Drummer Boy’, as well as four original songs composed by the pop beauty.

A new version of Mariah’s most famous seasonal track ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ – which featured on the album ‘Merry Christmas’ – will also appear on the album.

Despite having been first released in 1994, ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ continues to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 Recurrent Singles chart each Christmas, hitting the number one spot every year from 2005 to 2008.

It is still not clear whether Mariah and Nick will be preparing for the patter of tiny feet by Christmas time.

Although she is widely rumoured to be pregnant, the singer refuses to publically confirm or deny the news.

Last month, she posted on her website: “I appreciate everyone’s well wishes. But I am very superstitious. When the time is right, everyone will know.”

The ‘Hero’ hitmaker – who was pictured on stage in Brazil earlier this week with an apparent baby bump – and husband Nick Cannon have allegedly told friends how “overjoyed” they are to be expecting their first child together, despite refusing to publicly confirm the happy news.

A source told RadarOnline.com: “Nick has been telling friends how excited he is to be a dad.

“Mariah has tried so hard to get pregnant. She’s very excited. She wants to wait as close to full term as possible before going public with the news to her fans.”

Following her show in Brazil, Mariah – who recently dropped out of her next movie, ‘For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf’, citing medical reasons – tweeted she had found the performance tough for “personal reasons”.

She posted: “Seriously, I really do love it here, beautiful people inside and out! Tonite was tuff 4 me 4 personal reasons, but U got me thru! L4L. (sic)”

Nick has refused to be drawn on the pregnancy speculation this week, insisting it is a matter for his wife to tell her fans.

He said on his radio show: “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it time and time again – when my wife feels like talking about whatever she wants to talk about, you will hear it directly from her.”

The ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ actor – who recently married long-term partner Penelope Cruz in a secret ceremony – felt like a teenage girl when he met the ‘Inglourious Basterds’ star because he couldn’t believe how handsome he was.

He told Elle magazine: “I had the great opportunity to meet Brad Pitt a couple of times… what a beauty. He is beautiful and his physicality is so amazing to see.

“But the beauty really comes from different places – the way he talks, the way he’s interested in what you’re saying. And that body is like – wow! It’s amazing, no? He really made me feel very, like… I don’t know, like, I could fall in love with him!

TMZ has learned Mariah has ordered Kenneth Bordewick, her interior designer, to bid on an ornate living room set owned by Michael at Julien’s Auction, which will be held tomorrow in Vegas.

Michael bought the furniture to fill the London mansion he was supposed to live in during the run of the “This Is It” tour.

According to the auction house, the living room set — which MJ bought for $200,000 — could fetch $1 million.  The open bid — $150,000.  The proceeds — minus commissions — will go to Jackson’s estate.

You gotta believe Mariah will put old lady plastic covers on the furniture, in case Nick has an accident.

Vet to Mariah Carey — You Owe 30K for Doggy Style

Mariah Carey ran up a $38,000 tab with a veterinarian who claims she cared for MC’s pups 24/7 and even delivered one of ‘em … this according to a lawsuit filed by the vet.

Dr. Cindy Bressler sued Mariah in Manhattan today — and in the suit she says she provided “extraordinary services” for Mariah’s three Jack Russell terriers … Cha-Cha, Dolomite and JJ. Bressler claims she’s only been paid $8,000 of the 38K bill.

Dr. Bressler’s attorney tells TMZ the vet was in charge of grooming and feeding the doggy divas while Mariah was in L.A. promoting “Precious.“  According to the attorney, Bressler also brought tiny Dolomite into this world — delivering the pup last year.

Mariah’s rep hasn’t gotten back to us yet.

Mariah Carey’s new perfume was inspired by her husband Nick Cannon.

The singer says Nick’s proposal gave her the ideas to create Lollipop Bling, her new “sweet” fragrance.

She said: “The inspiration for Lollipop Bling was Nick’s marriage proposal to me. He first surprised me with a ring-pop – romantic, fun and young-at-heart – like me!”

Mariah is releasing Lollipop Bang through Elizabeth Arden in conjunction with Topps Candy Company next month.

The singer was recently described by Nick as the “diva of all divas”.

The rapper-and-presenter said his superstar spouse lives up to her demanding reputation but that’s one of the things he loves about her.

Nick revealed: “Imagine if you’ve got the diva of all divas. If we’ve got to be somewhere at five or six o’clock, I tell her it’s time to go at noon so she gets those five hours to do what she needs to do.

“But we’re both kids at heart. She is the funniest person ever and she has a great sense of humour. We connect at a spiritual level.”

The rapper-and-presenter claims his spouse is the funniest person he knows and he would love for them to show off her comedic talents in a joint venture.
He said: “I’d love to do a film with Mariah. But it would have to be a comedy. She’s the funniest woman in the world, she just cracks me up all the time.”
Mariah’s most recent big screen outing was as a dowdy social worker in ‘Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire’ and she admits she felt “tortured” by the role, although she believes it has made her a better person.
She said: “It was definitely a commitment to be seen looking that bad. I love Lee Daniels, the director, but he’s a sick man. He wanted to torture me.
“But you know, it freed me in a lot of ways. I don’t worry about certain things in the same way any more.”

The 40-year-old singer admits she has always been self-conscious about her appearance after somebody at her record company pointed it out.

She said: “I remember starting out and being at a record company at 19 and having someone tell me, ‘This is your good side and this is your bad side. Don’t ever let anyone take pictures of you from that side. You look terrible from that side,’ and so on. It created this whole complex – like I didn’t already have a complex!”

Mariah – whose mother is Irish-American and her father was an African-American of Venezuelan descent – says she has always been insecure about her looks because she’s mixed-race.

She said: “I felt very different as a bi-racial person. Growing up where I did, being half-black and half-white was a weird and difficult thing because I didn’t quite fit in either place and I moved around a lot. So when I went from that to this world it was like, let’s create an inferiority complex before we make this person go on TV and try to have confidence. So it was all about building self-confidence.”

Gabourey Sidibe felt “inspired” working alongside Mariah Carey.

The American star – who made her acting debut in ‘Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire’, in which she plays troubled teenager Claireece ‘Precious’ Jones – admits it was a dream come true working with Mariah, who played her dowdy social worker.

Gabourey said: “I’ve bought Mariah’s albums and I saw her live recently. I’ve been inspired by various people such as Mo’Nique, Mariah and Mary J. Blige.”

The 26-year-old actress was equally impressed by British star Dame Helen Mirren when she met her at the recent Golden Globe Awards.

She told The Sun newspaper: “It pretty much rocked my face off. She is really awesome. She is the nicest lady.

“Oh man, the Golden Globes was a lot of fun. It was so fun because it was packed, but packed with celebrities. It was like leaving a baseball game and finding the person you happen to be crunched up against is Leonardo DiCaprio.”

The role for the movie required an overweight teenager, and plus-sized Gabourey fitted the profile, however, she isn’t worried about her frame being a disadvantage in Hollywood.

She said: “I love the way I look. I’m never going to be a size two. I’m just not structured in that way. I am not worried about Hollywood trying to change me. They haven’t changed yet – for now people seem to like me as I am.

The ‘Boys and Girls’ hitmaker surprised herself with her tearful response when she encountered the singer because she is usually so calm around other celebrities.

She said: “When I was little I listened to my mum’s music. I sang all the big ballads by Mariah Carey. I met Mariah – she had a party in London and I got to meet her. I thought I’d be fine as I’ve met so many people but I shook her hand and started welling up. ”

The 19-year-old British star is still embarrassed about the incident and wishes they had had a more notable encounter.

She said: “I had a weird dream last night. I was robbed at gunpoint. The 39-year-old singer admits she has struggled with confidence issues her whole life and especially when she was a teenager who wanted to be liked.

She told Paper magazine: “I have had very low self-esteem my whole life. When I was 12 or 13, I remember walking up the driveway, and this guy who was 20 – which may have been highly inappropriate – said to me, ‘I like your pants,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, that looks good? Oh, OK, I will wear tight pants now.’ ”

Mariah – who is married to TV presenter Nick Cannon – admits she struggled to get over her breakdown in 2001 following her critical and commercial flop film ‘Glitter’ and album of the same name and complaints of being “overworked”.

The pop diva claims people lost perspective and became intensely interested in her life, which is why she felt the need to step back from the public spotlight to recharge.

Mariah – who checked into hospital in 2001 – explained: “I didn’t have the right support system around me. It was after September 11. A lot of people taking shots at me had no place to go. We are friggin’ ADD, this country (America).”

The ‘Bad Romance’ singer astonished reality TV mogul Simon Cowell with her requests, but they were eventually vetoed by health and safety officers. She will instead perform on the UK TV talent show this Sunday (06.12.09) surrounded by scantily clad male dancers.

A source said: “Simon wanted her on the show because he knows she will put 110 per cent into the performance.

“She is always way out there with her costumes and dance routines. But not even he was prepared for what she had in mind.

“He thought the animals request was a joke but then realised it was Lady Gaga. Simon is an animal lover and wasn’t against having the lambs running around, but he said no because of health and safety.”

The eccentric singer also recently had a request to have lions accompany her to the MTV Video Music Awards turned down.

British health and safety officers also cracked down on singer Mariah Carey’s diva demands last month when she appeared to turn on a shopping centre’s Christmas lights in London.

Mariah requested 20 white kittens and 100 white doves to accompany her at the extravagant switch-on ceremony at the Westfield shopping centre, but health and safety officials denied her wishes – because animals are not allowed inside the complex.

The singer-and-actress will receive the coveted honour at the Californian event in January in recognition for her portrayal of a dowdy social worker in ‘Precious’.

Festival chairman Harold Matzner said: “We’re delighted to be able to present the Breakthrough Performance Award to the extraordinary, very beautiful and versatile Mariah Carey, who, in a critically acclaimed role, completely transformed herself from a glamorous music icon to a forthright social worker for the role of Ms. Weiss in Precious.”

Previous winners of the prize include Jennifer Hudson, Marion Cotillard and Freida Pinto, who all went on to win an Oscar for their performances.

The ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’ singer amazed presenters of UK TV show ‘GMTV’ with her diva-like antics, which also included being lowered onto a sofa by two people, with more members of her entourage being placed in the studio to check camera angles.

‘GMTV’ host Kate Garraway revealed in her column in New! Magazine: “I’ve heard a lot of rumours about Mariah being a diva over the years and it turns out it’s all true!

“While Mariah was very nice, the amount of people she had in her entourage was hilarious. They outnumbered the entire ‘GMTV’ crew! She had two people to lower her on to the sofa, in case her dress got crushed, one person to walk in front of her backwards at all times in case she fell over and several people behind the camera making sure she was going to be filmed from the right angle.

“Have you ever heard anything like it? Oh, and she brought her own toilet roll as well.”
