Lindsay Lohan attended a Coldplay concert in Los Angeles last night (03.08.11) as a special guest of frontman Chris Martin

The troubled actress – who was recent released from house arrest, served in lieu of jail time for taking a necklace from a boutique and violating the terms of probation set for her 2007 conviction for driving under the influence (DUI) – is a huge fan of the British rockers and reached out to Chris for tickets as the pair have been “good friends” for years, according to gossip website TMZ.

Lindsay – who brought her younger sister Ali to the gig, where they enjoyed prime seats near the stage – later tweeted: “I love Coldplay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! W/my sis (sic)”

Coldplay paid tribute to the late singer Amy Winehouse during the band’s encore, where they performed a slower version of her hit ‘Rehab’, before singing their own song ‘Fix You’.

Lindsay is not Coldplay’s only famous fan. Chris’ wife Gwyneth – who has two children, Apple, seven and Moses, five with her musician spouse – recently revealed she is having trouble getting hold of their new LP, which is due to be released later this year, despite her close relationship with the band.

She wrote on twitter: “Who do I have to bang to get an advance copy of the new coldplayalbum? I mean, really.(sic)”

Lindsay Lohan has settled an unpaid bill for stereo equipment

Earlier this week, it was reported Stephen Clark had taken legal action against the troubled actress alleging she had failed to pay for a sound system and its instillation into her Californian home, but he has now cancelled the lawsuit after she handed over the cash for his work.

Stephen – who had sued for $1,180 – told gossip website TMZ: “She paid and I cancelled the small claims file.

“Lindsay is actually really nice and I think my invoice got mixed up or something … It’s all good now!”

The case was the latest in a string of problems for Lindsay, who had the equipment installed while she was under house arrest.

The ‘Mean Girls’ actress was freed on 29th June after serving 35 days of house arrest for the theft of a necklace from an upmarket boutique and for violating the terms of probation set for her 2007 conviction for driving under the influence (DUI).

Last week, Lindsay – who has also started 480 hours of community service at the Los Angeles Downtown Women’s centre as part of her sentence – appeared in court for a progress hearing, where she was ordered to find an individual therapist.

However, during the hearing, the 25-year-old actress’ lawyer insisted she hadn’t been able to have the mandatory psychological treatment due to “financial issues”.

Paris Hilton is “very excited” to have rekindled her friendship with Lindsay Lohan

The heiress was joined by the troubled actress at her Malibu beach house over the weekend and is said to be thrilled to have finally buried the hatchet with Lindsay, who she has had a turbulent relationship with for over five years.

A source said: “Paris is very excited. She loved seeing her again.”

Other guests at Paris’ low-key party were stunned when Lindsay entered the room as few had realised there was no longer any animosity between them.

The insider told gossip website TMZ: “Everyone was so surprised when Lindsay walked in and we thought they didn’t get along. But they immediately gave each other a big hug.”

Lohan Settles Up with 2007 Car Chase Victim

Lindsay Lohan is making progress with her laundry list of legal problems — TMZ has learned, she finally struck a settlement with the woman who claims the actress terrorized her in a 2007 car chase.

Sources close to Lindsay tell TMZ, the actress’ car insurance company ultimately coughed up the dough for a financial settlement with Tracie Rice — the woman who sued Lindsay back in 2008, claiming the infamous Santa Monica car chase was “one of the most frightening experiences of my life.”

The lawsuit was dismissed on Wednesday.

As we previously reported, Lohan was busted for DUI during the incident … after cops learned she was hammered when she commandeered someone else’s car while three young guys were still seated inside.

The three guys gave TMZ an unbelievable blow-by-blow soon after the incident  — their lawsuit against the actress is still ongoing.

Lindsay Lohan — ‘I Support The Judge’s Decision’

No doubt Lindsay Lohan supports what the judge said today in her sentencing because it really turned out “best case scenario” for the actress.

Lohan just released a statement saying, “I am glad to be able to put this past me and move on with my life and my career. I support the judge’s decision and hold myself accountable for being in this situation.”

Lohan added, “I have already started my community service at the Downtown Women’s Center and thank everyone there for their warm welcome.

She concluded, “I hope to be able to fulfill my obligation without any press attention. I think the media spotlight should be on issues such as homelessness and domestic violence instead of on me.”

Judge Stephanie Sautner gave Lohan 120 days in jail — that’s the sentence for her probation violation … so Lindsay won’t do additional time for the theft.

And TMZ has learned the Sheriff’s Department will probably let LiLo do her time at home with an electronic monitoring device — and she’ll only have to stay there for 14 days.

Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Holley, tells TMZ, “Lindsay and I would both like to thank Judge Sautner and t he L.A. City Attorney’s Office for their fair handling of this case.”

Lindsay Lohan has been ordered to undergo psychological counselling

The troubled actress has also been sentenced to three years probation, attend The Shoplifter’s Alternative programme, pay fines of $180 and stay away from jeweller Kanofie & Co. after pleading no contest to stealing a necklace from the store.

Lindsay – who has previously repeatedly insisted she did nothing wrong – did not appear in court this morning (11.05.11) to hear the sentencing.

Last month, the actress was deemed to have breached the terms of her 2007 probation – which was set following a driving under the influence conviction – because of the theft charges.

She was sentenced to 480 hours of community service and 120 days jail, for which she must turn herself in on June 17.

The 24-year-old star – who began her community service last week – has made an application to serve the jail term under house arrest, a move which is expected to be approved.

Lindsay recently admitted she has “made a lot of poor decisions” and has feared her numerous arrests and rehab stints would ruin her career.

She said: “I’ve made a lot of poor decisions in the past and I’m dealing with the consequences of those decisions so there were times when I was concerned but I’m a fighter and I know that I have a lot of work to do to gain the respect back and I’m willing to do the work that I have to do to be an actress.”

Lindsay Won’t Get Additional Time for Theft

Sources connected with Lindsay Lohan tell TMZ … Lindsay will NOT get any additional jail time for pleading no contest to misdemeanor theft.

Sources tell us … after meeting with the City Attorney and Lindsay’s Lawyer, Shawn Holley, Judge Stephanie Sautner set Lindsay’s plea and sentencing for Wednesday at 10 AM PDT.

Our Lindsay sources say … Judge Sautner will not impose any additional jail time over the 120 days she has already received for the probation violation.

As TMZ first reported, Lindsay will probably be allowed to serve her sentence at home, with an electronic monitoring device.

We believe cameras will be allowed to shoot Wednesday’s hearing — Judge Sautner has allowed cameras in the past when no testimony is being taken. Although Lindsay won’t be there, we will.

Lindsay Lohan May Dodge Jail

Lindsay Lohan is poised to avoid jail entirely, despite her 120-day sentence … TMZ has learned.

TMZ broke the story … Lindsay will plead no contest to misdemeanor theft, and it’s likely the judge will not increase the 120 day sentence — in other words, once she serves the 120 days, she’s home free.

Now here’s the twist. TMZ has checked with the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department — which runs the jail where Lindsay must serve her sentence. We’re told for non-violent, misdemeanor offenses, the Sheriff’s Department routinely allows inmates to serve their time at home, provided they wear an electronic monitoring device.

We’re also told the L.A. County Probation Dept. is down with non-violent, misdemeanor offenders serving time at home.

Judge Stephanie Sautner has made it clear — Lindsay will be treated just like any other defendant, and people in Lindsay’s shoes simply don’t get put behind bars.

Ironic, isn’t it. She’s accused of stealing a necklace, and a bracelet will set her free.

Lindsay Lohan Puts Actions Behind Words

Lindsay Lohan is backing up what she said on “The Tonight Show” — that she’s a big girl who is finally taking responsibility for her actions — because she’s going to start doing community service this week.

Sources tell TMZ … Lindsay will begin her 360 hours of community service at the Downtown Women’s Center in Los Angeles this week.

Lindsay told Jay Leno she’s not going to make excuses for her actions and will accept the consequences of violating her probation.

Lindsay’s lawyer, Shawn Holley, was there when Lindsay was on the stage. Interestingly, Holley’s hubby, Dorian Holley, was also there — he’s the lead singer of the “The Tonight Show” band.

We’re told the producer of “Gotti: Three Generations” was also in the audience to show his support.

One other thing … Lindsay is also required to perform 120 hours at the L.A. County Morgue — we’re told “she’s not so crazy about that.”

Lindsay’s Lawyer Scribbles Hasty Appeal

Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer was so blindsided by Judge Stephanie Sautner’s decision to throw Lindsay in jail Friday … she scribbled an appeal on what looks like a stationary store legal form and jammed it through the system so her client could get out of the pokey.

TMZ obtained the form … filed by Shawn Holley minutes after the judge sentenced Lindsay to 120 days in jail for the probation violation.

Holley’s name and address is scribbled at the top of the form, as is Lindsay’s name in the document.

And, the standard form didn’t make sense because it says the defendant is indigent, so Holley drew a line through it. On the other hand …

By filing the notice of appeal, it allowed Lindsay to bail out while the appeal is pending.

Sometimes, done beats perfect.

Lindsay Lohan — “Blindsided” By Jail Sentence

If you were shocked Lindsay Lohan got sentenced to jail yesterday, you’re not alone — sources close to LiLo tell us no one was more shocked than she was.

Lindsay was sentenced to 120 days in jail yesterday by Judge Stephanie Sautner she was bailed out of Lynwood Correctional Facility after spending five hours inside.

Sources close to Lindsay tell us she was under the impression she’d be going home after the hearing … and was “blindsided” when she got sentenced. We’re told Lindsay described the situation as “ridiculous” and “f**ked up.”

According to our sources, Lindsay spent her Saturday with her sister, Ali, and her brother, Michael Jr.

We’re told Lindsay is glad she’s not behind bars (for the moment) and is looking forward to appealing.

Lindsay Lohan’s Friend — I’m No Accomplice!

Lindsay Lohan’s friend is adamant he wasn’t playing decoy when Lindsay allegedly stole a $2,500 necklace back in January — sources tell TMZ, he just wanted to chat fashion with the store owner.

As we previously reported, Sofia Kaman — the owner of the L.A. jewelry store Lindsay allegedly stole from — testified that Lindsay’s friend Patrick distracted her several times while Lindsay was in the store, hitting her with obscure questions about jewelry … while Lindsay made off with the goods.

But sources tell us, Patrick’s a fashion enthusiast who even owns his own clothing line — and was simply expressing genuine interest in Sofia’s company.

Lindsay Betty Ford Clash — Violent 911 Confrontation

TMZ has obtained the 911 call made by Lindsay Lohan during the nuclear argument she had with Betty Ford staffer Dawn Holland — an argument Holland says turned violent.

It all went down on December 12, when the staffer — Dawn Holland — claims she busted Lindsay and two other girls jumping a wall at Betty Ford at around 1 AM. — after curfew. During the 911 call, Lindsay and Dawn were both on the line on separate phones. Lindsay says, “She’s freaking me out!”

When Dawn tried to make Lindsay take a breathalyzer, she says “Lindsay Lohan pushed me and hit me with the phone.” Dawn claims she knows the other two girls Lindsay was with were drunk, “wreaking of alcohol.”

During the call, Dawn claims she grabbed the phone to talk to the dispatcher … but Lindsay ripped the phone from her hand … spraining Dawn’s wrist in the process.

As we first reported, the Riverside County District Attorney declined to prosecute Lindsay over the incident.

Lindsay Lohan says she was NOT loaded on grandpa’s cough medicine — aka booze, hooch, or liquor — when she busted her butt in NYC … telling TMZ flat-out, “I was NOT drinking, nor do I drink!”

LiLo is on the defensive after being photographed going down hard outside the Motor City Bar on Wednesday — because some people had the audacity to think Lindsay Lohan falling down outside a bar may mean she fell off the wagon.

Lindsay D.A.: Selling Surveillance Tape Means Nothing

The prosecutor in the Lindsay Lohan case tells TMZ … the fact that the alleged victim/jeweler may be selling views of the surveillance video online will have no bearing on the criminal trial.

Danette Meyers tells TMZ …she isn’t fazed by Kamofie & Company purportedly selling views of the video for $2.99 a pop.

Meyers says, “The issue is whether Lindsay stole the necklace, period.”

Meyers believes the defense will try and take advantage of the online sale, but she says, “That will just add around 30 minutes to cross examination. That’s it.”

Meyers doesn’t think the jewelers’ credibility will be harmed by the $2.99 deal. Lindsay has said the necklace was a loan and she didn’t steal it. Meyers says it gets back to the issue, If she didn’t steal it, “Why then did Lindsay return the necklace to the police?”

And sources say the owners of Kamofie & Company “got a raw deal” and haven’t seen a penny of profits from the sale of the video, at least not yet. The sources say the owners were taken advantage of, and the contracts they made for the sale of the tape are now being reviewed by lawyers.

Lindsay Lohan — Different Case, Same Attitude

Lindsay Lohan is rubber and everyone else is glue — because, once again, she feels her latest legal troubles will just bounce right off of her… this according to sources close to LiLo.

As TMZ first reported, the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office is once again pursuing possible assault charges against Lindsay stemming from the alleged altercation she had with a Betty Ford employee back on December 12, 2010.

Sources close to Lindsay tell TMZ … she was completely aware the DA had begun interviewing witnesses in her case, but she wasn’t worried at all. We’re told Lindsay is confident those witnesses — all her friends, by the way — will see things Lindsay’s way.

We’re also told … Lindsay thinks of the D.A. in Riverside County like she does Kamofie & Company — just someone else trying to make a name for themselves by going after her.

Lindsay Lohan got back into the New York club scene last night — hitting at least two different bars — but we’re told she wasn’t served one drop of alcohol.

Sources at the super high-end 1-Oak nightclub tell us LiLo was definitely inside the joint … but didn’t order a single drink … and was not seen sipping on anything alcoholic.

Lohan was also spotted at the Simyone Lounge — but Lindsay tells us, “I did not drink … period. I do not drink … period.”

Lohan added, “I went to SL with my friend who owns it.”

Lindsay Lohan isn’t taking any chances with the tsunami warning issued for Southern California — TMZ has learned she’s evacuated her Venice apartment and is heading for higher ground at The Peninsula Hotel.

Lindsay Lohan: I Ain’t Pleading to Nothin’

Lindsay Lohan is steadfast …. she’s not plea bargaining her felony grand theft case.

We got Lindsay Tuesday night going to her agent’s office and asked if she’d accept a plea deal — which the judge has already said would involve jail time. Lindsay appears to nod in the negative.

It’s an interesting situation … we’ve learned Lindsay’s lawyer, Shawn Holley and prosecutor Danette Meyers are meeting with Judge Keith Schwartz Wednesday to discuss a plea bargain. Judge Schwartz has made it clear — any plea deal will put Lindsay behind bars … the only question is for how long.

Lindsay must appear in court on Thursday. If she doesn’t accept a plea deal, the case will assigned to Judge Stephanie Sautner for trial, and the stakes for Lindsay then go up dramatically.

Lindsay Upset With ‘SNL’ Over Miley’s Insults

Lindsay Lohan has fired off a letter to “Saturday Night Live” honcho Lorne Michaels — explaining she was disappointed with him for allowing Miley Cyrus to take digs at her on the show … TMZ has learned.

Sources close to Lindsay tell us … she had considered Lorne a mentor and a father figure … and felt betrayed that he would let Miley mock her on TV … so LiLo sent an email to let him know she was upset.
