Nicole Scherzinger’s perfect date night is having a meal cooked for her by her boyfriend

The ‘Poison’ singer – who has been in a relationship with Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, 25, for three years – prefers having a quiet evening in at home to going out, especially if she doesn’t have to step into the kitchen herself.

She told FHM magazine: “I’m just a normal girl at home. I’m a homebody. I would much rather stay at home than go out.

“Given the choice, I’d rather have a man that can cook than a man who can dance. I love my food. Nothing fancy – I’m not exactly a super cook – I just appreciate the effort.”

The 32-year-old pop beauty also revealed she hates meeting over-confident men, and, although she is very happy in her relationship, she is attracted to guys who can make her laugh.

She said: “It’s totally unattractive when a man is too into himself. Confidence is attractive, cockiness is not. I like a guy with a sense of humour.”

Nicole Scherzinger isn’t ready for marriage

The ‘Poison’ singer doesn’t think the time is yet right for her and British Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton to tie the knot because they are perfectly “happy” as they are.

Asked if she would like to wed Lewis, she said: “Erm. No, I don’t. I mean, right now we’re just really happy where we are.”

The Pussycat Dolls star also revealed she doesn’t worry about Lewis when she watches him drive at incredibly high speeds in grand prix races.

She added in an interview with heat magazine: “I guess it’s hard for me to comment, because I couldn’t possibly imagine what it’s like for him. I don’t have anything to compare it to. I have my, you know, Mercedes, which I don’t go very fast in.

“But I’m extremely supportive of him and his career and very proud of him. I’m always going to be his number one fan.”

Although they are both very talented in their respective fields, the 32-year-old pop star has revealed he is a much better cook than her.

She said: “I tried to grill a steak once for my sister and it was horrible. It was burnt on one side and frozen on the inside.

“I definitely don’t think I could do what my boyfriend does, that’s for sure.”

A source told Britain’s Hello! magazine: “The reason they split in January was because they were hardly spending any time together, but crucially they never fell out of love. It was just before Valentine’s Day during a tearful heart-to-heart that they decided to give their relationship another go.

“Nicole agreed after laying down strict guidelines to put more romance into their relationship. One of those was that she didn’t want any interruptions when they dine out, meaning Lewis agreed to leave his BlackBerry at home. They also thought it would be an idea not to read tabloid stories about each other.”

The final part of the plan was that Lewis spoke to Nicole everyday – rather than just textinhg – while Nicole, 31, has agreed to reschedule her diary to spend more with her 25-year-old beau.

Nicole and Lewis confirmed they were back together after they were spotted holding hands and kissing at the Grove Shopping Centre in Los Angeles.

An onlooker said: “They were all over each other while chatting to fans. They were both completely smitten.”

Nicole, 31, also joked with a shop assistant when she was asked if there was anything particular she was looking for, saying: “This year – my wedding dress.”

The pair split in early January after 20 months together, with both blaming their hectic careers for the separation.

The Pussycat Dolls singer has been dating the British Formula One ace for nearly three years, but they have reportedly not seen each other in three weeks and shelved plans to spend Christmas together.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Lewis and Nicole have had a few problems for a while now. They love each other dearly but have incredibly busy schedules.

“Nicole was in London last week and was desperate to hook up with Lewis but she was busy in the studio while he is on a European training camp and couldn’t come back.

“Hopefully after a month apart, they will come to their senses and give things another go.”

Despite the claims, a spokesperson for Lewis insisted the couple are “perfectly fine”.

Meanwhile, Nicole recorded the theme song to forthcoming musical ‘Love Never Dies’ – the sequel to the hugely popular ‘Phantom of the Opera’, by composer Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber – while in London.

A source said: “Andrew is a huge fan of Nicole and her voice. He has always said she could become one of the biggest stars on the planet with the right songs.”
