Celebration: Leo And Lively
by Kavy on Aug.30, 2011, under Birtday
Blake Lively flew to Australia at the weekend to celebrate her birthday with boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio
The ‘Gossip Girl’ star turned 24 last Thursday (25.08.11) and decided to jet Down Under to see her Hollywood heartthrob beau in Sydney – where he has been shooting his new movie ‘The Great Gatsby’ – on Saturday (27.08.11).
The couple – who have been dating since May – enjoyed a meal at exclusive restaurant Aria and were seated at one of the eatery’s best tables which boasts a panoramic view of Sydney Harbour.
A source told Australia’s Daily Telegraph newspaper: “[Blake] looked gorgeous and they looked very much like a couple. They seemed to be having a really nice time and were definitely enjoying the view.”
Blake is still in Australia with Leonardo, 36, and on Tuesday (30.08.11) the couple enjoyed a trip to Featherdale Wildlife Park in Doonside, western Sydney.
The pair saw a variety of animals and were even allowed to get up close and personal to some baby crocodiles during their visit.
Featherdale marketing manager Kellie Ames said: “We weren’t told who it was. We only knew when they arrived. I made sure I was the one who escorted them when I saw it was Leo. I’m a big fan of his movies.
“They were both so nice and down to earth. Leo was asking about the endangered animals. They loved the koalas and the wombats. We also brought out baby saltwater crocs. Neither of them seemed scared one bit. They were very calm.”

Leo’s Gift 4 Blake’s Father
by Alice on Aug.26, 2011, under Actor
Leonardo DiCaprio has given Blake Lively’s dad a colouring book for his birthday
The ‘Inception’ actor presented the 24-year-old actress’ father Ernie, who was celebrating his 64th birthday, with the item during dinner at Madeo restaurant in Los Angeles, and the actor was thrilled with his artistic gift
A source said: “Blake’s father loved it.”
The 36-year-old star – who split from supermodel Bar Refaeli in May after dating her for five years – is said to be “smitten” with the ‘Gossip Girl’ actress.
Another source added: “[They] are so smitten it’s crazy. I bet they get engaged in the next six months!”
The pair – who have been spotted on a number of luxurious dates around Europe – were recently seen spending time at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, with a group of friends after the ‘Green Lantern’ star attended the MTV Movie Awards.
Leonardo – who missed celebrating Blake’s 24th birthday yesterday (25.08.11) due to his ‘Great Gatsby’ filming commitments in Australia – treated her to a helicopter ride to Saint-Paul de Vence, France, where they enjoyed a $500 lunch earlier this year.

Separate Ways: Leonardo DiCaprio And Bar Refaeli
by Lisa on May.15, 2011, under Breakup
Leonardo DiCaprio is getting over his split from Bar Refaeli by partying with friends at the Cannes Film Festival
The ‘Inception’ star and the Israeli-born supermodel – who have been dating for over five years – ended their relationship recently and Leonardo immediately took off for France with pals including actor Jamie Foxx.
A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “Leo’s gutted about the split with Bar. This time it’s for real and there’s no hope of them getting back together. He wanted to go to Cannes and get away from it all.
“Jamie hired a super yacht for the trip and it’s been a case of partying until dawn, gaggles of girls and lots of mischief.
“They’re getting through champagne like it’s going out of fashion.”
Although Leonardo, 36, and 25-year-old Bar have previously called time on their relationship, splitting for six months in 2009 after dating for four years before reuniting last year, pals have revealed this break-up is serious after they both realised neither of them are ready to settle down.
A source said: “It was amicable, they’re still friends and they are still talking. They just grew apart and went their separate ways.
“Neither are ready to settle down, and both have busy careers that have been taking them in different directions.”

Guess Who Is Hollywood’s Top Earner 2010?
by Lisa on Feb.02, 2011, under Actor, Actress, updates
Taylor Lautner has beaten his ‘Twilight’ co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in 2010’s Hollywood Top 40 Earners List
Compiled by Vanity Fair magazine, the rankings revealed the 18-year-old actor raked in an estimated $33.5 million for his various movie appearances throughout 2010, making him the ninth-highest earner in Hollywood.
As well as pushing last year’s number nine Robert Downey Jr. into tenth place, Taylor beat both Kristen and Robert – who received $28.5 million and $27.5 million for their respective film roles over the past 12 months – who landed in 13th and 14th places.
Vanity Fair’s contributing editor Peter Newcomb explained: “He’s perhaps the highest-paid teenage star right now. When they first negotiated their contracts, they were getting paid a lot less.
“Then, with the immense success of the film, the agents went back and renegotiated the deal – Lautner’s deal in particular was really bumped up.”
With ‘Avatar‘ director and producer James Cameron securing the top spot in the rankings with an estimated yearly earning of $257 million, Johnny Depp – who raked in $100 million in 2010 – was listed as the highest-earning actor, taking home $40 million for his role as the Mad Hatter in ‘Alice in Wonderland’ alone.
However, despite being pipped to the post by her ‘Twilight’ co-star, Kristen Stewart’s estimated $28.5 million earnings made her the highest-ranking female star in 2010.
Vanity Fair Magazine’s Hollywood Top 20 Earners 2010
1. James Cameron – $257 million
2. Johnny Depp – $100 million
3. Steven Speilberg – $80 million
4. Christopher Nolan- $71.5 million
5. Leonardo DiCaprio – $62 million

All- IN -All Review — INCEPTION
by Lisa on Jan.06, 2011, under Actor, Actress, Entertainment, Films, Movies
Christopher Nolan must have felt pressure to ensure his next film topped the level of success that The Dark Knight achieved. With Inception, Nolan delivers.
Directed, written and co-produced by Nolan, Inception stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Inception is a science fiction film that tells the story of Dom Cobb (DiCaprio), a man known known as an “extractor.”
Cobbs job is to steal secrets from peoples dreams as they sleep. Asian businessman Saito (Ken Wantanabe) hires Cobb to plant an idea into his business rivals mind. Saito hopes that this will force his rival Robert Fischer JR (Murphy), to break up his business empire.
Cobb is a man who blames himself for the death of his wife, played by Marion Cotillard. It is while he is on this job that he must face his deepest fears, or face spending eternity trapped in a dream like state.
Compared with Nolans previous films, Inception is a complex film. At times confusing, audience interest is kept alive by strong performances from the cast.
Cillian Murphy puts on a notable performance. His potrayal of troubled business heir Robert Fischer JR is believable. Towards the end of the movie, you cannot help but feel sympathy for the character. Although only on screen for a short period, Murphy adds emotional depth to the film.
Ellen Page also brings a lot to the film as dream architect Ariadne. Inception is a more spohisticated and mature role for Page, as opposed to her role in Juno.
And of course, there is the performance by Dicaprio. He plays Dom Cobb as a serious, yet haunted individual. His best bit is when he witnesses the death of his wife.
Look out for small performances from Michael Caine and Pete Postelwaite as well.
Apart from the acting, the films biggest strength is its soundtrack.
Having worked with Christopher Nolan before, Hans Zimmer illustrates the world of Inception with synthesizers, deep trombones and the occasional piano solo.
Zimmer lives up to expectations. His motifs and themes add dimension to the world of Inception. Inception is Zimmers best work yet.
The action scenes are well filmed. The climactic action sequence is entertaining, albeit a little confusing.
Nolan uses the idea of a time delay to enhance dramatic effect. This is where an event that lasts only a few seconds in normal waking time equates to several hours in dream time.
This is most effectively used in a scene where a white van, with the main characters inside, falls over a bridge is used to heighten tension as the characters struggle to complete their mission while asleep.
Special effects are used sparingly in the movie. The effects are used to enhance the story rather than deter from it.
They are used at their best when Cobb first shows Ariadene the dream world they have entered.
Entire streets fold up, buildings crumble and objects explode as they navigate their surroundings. Much of the effects where used in the trailers to promote the film.
The most disappointing aspect of Inception is the complex plot. However, with the DVD release, this problem can be resolved with multiple viewings and the ability to rewatch scenes to make more sense of them.
The current DVD release of Inception contains extra material including a short documentary staring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, in which he explores the world of dreams and the subconcious.
Also included is the usual TV/Trailer spots and a selection of soundtrack scores from the movie. The DVD contains no director/actor commentary.
Overall, Inception is a better film than The Dark Knight. It is by far Nolans best work yet. Inception may always be overshadowed by The Dark Knight, however it is a more serious and ambitious movie. The strong performance from the cast compensates for the confusing plot. Zimmers score is his best work so far. I am going out on a limb here, but Inception is perhaps one of the most defining movies of the decade.

Reese Witherspoon On Vampire Edward Cullen
by Abbey on Dec.07, 2010, under Actor, Actress
Reese Witherspoon thinks Robert Pattinson is “extraordinarily attractive”
The 34-year-old actress – who was previously married to Ryan Phillippe and dated Jake Gyllenhaal - worked alongside the British hunk on the set of new movie ‘Water for Elephants’ and believes the hype around him is justified as he is very good looking.
She said: “The only thing I can compare it to is when Leonardo DiCaprio was in ‘Titanic’. It was that kind of fervour about a person. The women lining up outside the set – it was unbelievable – till 5 o’clock in the morning waiting to just glimpse him.
“He’s extraordinarily attractive, I’m not gonna lie! Every day there would be like, 50 people staked out. There would be people camped out in the hallways of our hotel. All day, all night long, it didn’t matter. People were there to try to catch a glimpse.”
However, the blonde beauty believes the best thing about the 24-year-old star – who is believed to be dating his ‘Twilight’ co-star Kristen Stewart – is he is a hard worker who is not “a bad boy”.
She told MTV News: “Robert is such a great guy from a great family. That’s the thing that’s so funny. He’s not really this bad boy, he’s just a great guy and really worked hard on ‘Water for Elephants’. We really worked long hours, long days. He looks totally different in the movie.”

Gerard Butler — Celebrity 2 Find Fame In A Toilet..?
by Abbey on Sep.05, 2010, under Actor, Entertainment, Films
Gerard Butler has his own shrine – in a public toilet in America
The ‘Bounty Hunter’ actor has become so popular in Melvindale, Michigan, that a local store is giving tours around the bathroom, because the Scottish hunk once relieved himself there.
A source told National Enquirer magazine: “Turns out the place where the locals go to have a brush with fame is located in the back room of the Ace Sprinkler Company – and it’s the store’s one and only toilet!
Gerard, who’s in the Detroit area shooting ‘Machine Gun Preacher’, stopped to the use the restroom one day and later posed for pictures
with the owner’s two daughters. Once he went back to work, the gals invited all their friends to take a tour of the place where he relieved himself, and it’s been the talk of the town ever since!”
Gerard is not the only celebrity to find fame in a toilet. ‘Inception’ actor Leonardo DiCaprio recently had to hide in a public bathroom after soccer fans watching the World Cup in South Africa saw him pop into the room. The toilet cubicle was suddenly inundated with members of the public desperate to catch a glimpse of the star.

Defendant in DiCaprio Case Claims Cover-Up

Defendant in DiCaprio Case Claims Cover-Up
The woman accused of slashing Leo DiCaprio’s face with a drinking glass was in court this morning lashing out at the actor, claiming he started the physical altercation and the whole thing is a cover-up.
Aretha Wilson’s lawyer asked the judge for a toxicology report on the actor the night of the incident, as well as his medical records.
The lawyer claims the case is a cover-up — that Leo didn’t even report the incident for 3 days, and the 5 witnesses are telling inconsistent stories.
In addition to the toxicology report (Leo went to the hospital that night for stitches and doctors may have done a toxicology), the lawyer wants Leo’s rap sheet.
As for what started the fight at the home of Rick Salomon, Paris Hilton’s sex tape partner, Wilson’s lawyer says his client said to Leo, “You guys are a bunch of f*gs. Why don’t you go butt f**k each other.” The lawyer says that set Leo off and he approached Wilson in a threatening way.
Leo’s lawyer, Blair Berk, says, “These are outrageous lies and a classic case of trying to re-victimize a victim in a violent assault.”
Berk adds, “That this woman became a fugitive from justice for 5 years to avoid responsibility and that Mr. DiCaprio has fully cooperated with the prosecution from day 1 should say everything. This woman has a long criminal history of violent criminal attacks on others and should be given no attention whatsoever.”
Berk’s bottom line — “Mr. DiCaprio simply wants justice.”

Leonardo DiCaprio (born November 11, 1974) is an American actor and film producer.
His first role was on the sitcom Growing Pains, but his breakthrough film performance came in This Boy’s Life. This was quickly followed by What’s Eating Gilbert Grape; his performance as the mentally handicapped brother of Gilbert (Johnny Depp) brought him nominations for the Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. DiCaprio has also been nominated for two BAFTAs, three SAGs, and seven Golden Globes. He is a Golden Globe and a Silver Bear winner.
He gained international fame for his role as Jack Dawson in Titanic, and has starred in many other successful films including Romeo + Juliet, Catch Me If You Can, Inception and Blood Diamond, for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor. Another Academy Award nomination came for his role as Howard Hughes in The Aviator, directed by Martin Scorsese. Leonardo has also worked with Scorsese in Gangs of New York, The Departed and Shutter Island. This working partnership brought comparison to the earlier working relationship between Scorsese and actor Robert De Niro, who also benefited from roles in Scorsese films early in his career.

“It’s what I love” Playing An Evil Character — Says Dakota Fanning
by Kavy on Jun.10, 2010, under Actress
Dakota Fanning loves playing an evil character in ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’.
The 16-year-old actress – who portrays cruel vampire Jane in the blood-sucking movie franchise – admits she liked being able to transport herself into a nasty character.
She said: “She definitely takes pleasure in using her power which is inflicting pain on others, which is not a normal thing! So yeah it was cool to get to transform myself into more of an evil character which I haven’t done before.”
The teen star also confesses acting is the only career for her, although she would like to continue with her education alongside film commitments.
She said: “I do want to go to college, I want to be able to act and go to college at the same time. But it is absolutely what I want to do with the rest of my life. I can’t imagine doing anything else. It’s what I love.
Discussing her dream collaborations, Dakota claims Jodie Foster is a big inspiration for her due to her career longevity.
She told website NY1: “I’ve always wanted to work with Jodie Foster, I really admire because just because she’s started young and she’s continued and it’s just something I want to do. I want to constantly challenge myself. I hope by the end of my life I’ve been able to do all genres.

Leonardo – who starred in the movie with Kate Winslet – said: “At first I hated the way I was turned into a pretty boy, as if that was all that was expected of me.
“It made me almost want to stop acting for a while because the attention that was focused on me was not where I wanted to take my career.
“I didn’t want to do romantic films or anything which just exploited my image or appearance. I also kind of had to be more careful about the friends I was hanging out with. I was living a pretty big life for a while and then that just gets tiresome.”
Leonardo has also revealed children could be on the cards for him and girlfriend Bar Refaeli.
The ‘Shutter Island’ star admits family has become more important to him since the death of his 93-year-old grandmother Helene Indenbirken in 2008.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Family is something I’m starting to think about more and more, especially now that my grandmother is no longer around. It makes you think about the importance of things and how important it is to be part of a family – to have some meaning apart from your work.”

Is Leonardo DiCaprio & Bar Refaeli Willing To Settle Down
by Alice on Feb.18, 2010, under Actor, Actress
The ‘Shutter Island’ actor and the Israeli model recently denied reports they were engaged but his latest co-star believes they are made for each other.
Emily said: “I didn’t know he wasn’t married! I’m sure that he will, yes, and be very happy.”
Leonardo’s good friend, Roberta Armani – niece of Giorgio Armani – also believes the pair are good for each other because they are so similar.
She said: “They are very similar. Not only do they look alike, they are both very lively and warm. No pretences at all.”
Leonardo and Bar split last June but rekindled their relationship last November after he took her for a luxury holiday in the Bahamas.
A source said: “They stayed in their own villa. They were shacked up together all weekend.”
Their break-up was believed to have been because Bar – who first started dating Leonardo in 2006 – wanted the romance to be more serious, prompting the ‘Titanic’ actor to call time on their relationship.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s Understanding On ‘Nut’ Case
by Alice on Feb.17, 2010, under Actor

The ‘Sutter Island’ star – who has been acting since he was 15 but hit worldwide stardom when he starred in 1997’s ‘Titanic’ – says it’s important to keep grounded when experiencing fame and success because it can be taken away very quickly.
He said: “Just because you’ve done a good performance once, doesn’t mean you’re always going to be good. That’s why some of the greatest actors in the world have gone a little bit nuts. They’re saying to themselves, ‘What happened? You used to love me?’ It’s an easy trap to fall into. You just have to realise that when you’re hot, you’re hot, and when you’re not, you’re not.”
The 35-year-old heartthrob says his friends help him stay down-to-earth as they won’t let him act like a star.
He told parade.com: “I know this is going to sound lame, but one of my favourite things is hanging out with my friends. They take me away from the world of show business and keep me grounded. It brings me back to who I am. When I didn’t want to go out in public after all the craziness surrounding ‘Titanic’, they sort of pushed me out the door. They were like, ‘Are you going to hide out like a little hermit?’ ”

Leonardo DiCaprio – Uses His Friends As Cheap Therapy
by Alice on Feb.13, 2010, under Actor

The Hollywood star – who plays US Marshal Teddy Daniels in his new movie ‘Shutter Island’ – admitted he has to turn to his pals and act like a “complete idiot” every now and then in order to escape the complexity of the characters he plays.
He said: “I go out and have a drink every once in a while. Ooh I know that’s controversial, isn’t it? I sometimes go on a vacation, too.
“I take what I do very seriously, and when I’m on the set that’s all I focus on, so my vice is to hang out with my friends and talk about absolutely nothing of importance whatsoever and act like a complete idiot because I’ve got to filter out a lot of the serious stuff I’m dealing with all the time.
“It’s like therapy to be a complete idiot with my friends, and it’s just fantastic.”
The actor revealed that playing Teddy – who arrives on a remote island to investigate the disappearance of a murderer from a hospital for the criminally insane – was the “deepest” he’d gone with a character and says he is now searching for some lighter roles.
He said: “This year is going to be the year of really taking care of myself because I’ve reached 35 and I’ve taken a lot of things seriously, maybe too seriously at times, so I’m going to make sure that whatever I do next and whatever choices I make are really right for me. And we’ll see where that takes me.”

Gisele Bundchen & Tom Brady And Their Unamed Baby
by Alice on Dec.15, 2009, under Model

The boy was born six days ago on December 9 but still hasn’t been given a moniker because the couple changed their mind about his name just days before he entered the world.
Tom said n a radio interview: “We thought we had a name picked for about six months and then, about two days before he was born, Gisele said, ‘I don’t like that name any more.’ So, it was kind of back to the drawing board. I tell you, we’ve got about seven or eight choices. But I’ve been practicing I’ve got to be home for more than two hours to sit down so we can talk about it.”
Brazilian model Gisele previously dated Leonardo DiCaprio and surfer Kelly Slater before getting together with Tom in 2006. The pair married in February 2009.
Although Tom knew the sex of the child, Gisele chose not to find out before the birth.
Earlier this month, Tom, 32, said: “I’m the only one that knows at this point. My dad asked me. I haven’t told him. Gisele doesn’t know. It’s a pretty good feeling knowing something that no one else does.”

Zac Efron Says It Would Be “weird” To Try An Action Film
by Alice on Nov.23, 2009, under Actor

The ‘High School Musical’ star – who became a teenage heartthrob after appearing in the Disney movie franchise – would love to try his hand at as a screen hero but fears his career could be over if the role wasn’t perfect.
He said: “I would love to try an action film at some point, but not too soon. I think that can be a kiss of death. There’s got to be a real role that I can bring something unique and specific to, a way for me to do it believably. Until then, I think it would just come across as weird.”
The 22-year-old star also revealed he is in awe of actor Leonardo DiCaprio – despite disliking him when he was growing up.
He admitted: “I think Leonardo DiCaprio’s done a great job. I was dead set against the guy when I was growing up, kind of force-fed his image from ‘Titanic’. Since then, through very hard work and incredible performances, he’s done a complete 180. Now he’s one of my favorite actors. He’s at the top of his game.”
Meanwhile, Zac has revealed he plans to return to college to continue his studies.
He said: “I know at some point I will go back and study, but at this point I’m definitely focusing on working as hard as I can on film.
“I’ve always wanted to do Broadway. Finding that right role is a challenge. I wouldn’t want to just do it to do it. I would want to make sure it’s something special.”

Will Ferrell Is The Most Overpaid Stars As Per Forbes Magazine
by Alice on Nov.22, 2009, under Actor, Actress

The ‘Elf’ actor and comedian topped the annual list by Forbes magazine, which calculated how much moviemakers earn per dollar paid to their lead actor.
After the last couple of funnyman Will’s films – ‘Semi-Pro’ and ‘Land of the Lost’ – bombed at the box office, his rate of return has dropped to $3.29 for every dollar of Will’s fee.
This contrasts greatly with the other end of the scale, which saw Shia LaBeouf named as the Best Actor for the Buck in August, earning studios an average of $160 for every dollar he was paid.
Behind Will on the Most Overpaid list was British actor Ewan McGregor, while Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson all made the top ten.
However, Will could turn his box office figures around as he recently revealed he wants to make a sequel to ‘Anchorman’, one of his most successful films to date, about a 1970s newsreader.
The 42-year-old star said: “Yeah we’re trying to figure out when and how we should do that. We’re going to meet with all the guys and see if we can actually pull this off.
“With Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd, they’re in different places with their careers it’s a lot harder to get us all together.”
Although he did add: “And believe me, I’m not taking a pay cut, no way, absolutely not!”

Forbes magazine’s top ten Most Overpaid Stars:
1. Will Ferrell
2. Ewan McGregor
3. Billy Bob Thornton
4. Eddie Murphy
5. Ice Cube
6. Tom Cruise
7. Drew Barrymore
8. Leonardo DiCaprio
9. Samuel L. Jackson
10. Jim Carrey

Leonardo DiCaprio Spent $1,400 On Beauty Products At Los Angeles
by admin on Nov.12, 2009, under Actor

The 35-year-old Hollywood star stunned fellow shoppers at Los Angeles’ Blue Mercury store by splashing out on facemasks, moisturisers, eye creams, anti-wrinkle lotions, soap and toners – with his publicist later insisting the haul was a gift for someone else.
However, fan and fellow shopper Bonnie Lockhart was unconvinced.
She said: “Leonardo asked a lot of questions and seemed to be most concerned about wrinkle creams.”
The heartthrob is taking extra care of his appearance ahead of action movie ‘Inception’ – for which he has to shed 30lbs before filming starts.
A source told RadarOnline: “Leonardo has gained weight recently and looks almost a bit flabby, which isn’t good, especially as the camera adds pounds.
“There’s an action scene coming up at the end of the year in which he needs to appear emaciated, so the pressure is on.”
Although Leonardo – who plays Jacob Hastley in the film, which is about an officer worker who becomes involved in a blackmail scandal – is finding it hard to cut out calorific treats, he is determined to be in top shape for the scene.
The movie source said: “He is following a strict diet and is embarking on a rigorous workout regime. Leonardo is a pretty determined kind of guy and when he sets his mind to things he always achieves them. Though this is going to be hard for him, you can guarantee he’ll succeed.”

Nicolas Cage’s Extravagant Purchase Of A Dinosaur Skull
by cyan on Nov.10, 2009, under Actor

The ‘National Treasure’ actor – who has been forced to put several of his properties on the market after failing to pay millions of dollars of tax – filed a lawsuit in October claiming Samuel Levin, his former manager led him “down a path of financial ruin”.
The 45-year-old American actor – whose films have grossed a collective $3.9 billion – owes $6 million in back taxes from 2007 and it is only now his extravagant purchases have come to light.
The most bizarre purchase was in 2007 when he outbid ‘Titantic’ actor Leonardo DiCaprio for a $276,000 skull claimed to be from a prehistoric beast.
He also owns a jet, two yachts, three castles, two islands in the Bahamas and a number of mansions.
His most expensive car – out of a fleet of 50 – was a $495,000 Lamborghini whose former owner was the shah of Iran.
Cage is a superhero fan – he had to sell his comic collection in 1997 for $1.6 million – and even named his son Kal-El, four, after the Man of Steel.
