Johnny’s Art Kollection
by Alice on Sep.23, 2011, under Actor
Johnny Depp has an oil painting of Keith Richards surrounded by cigarette papers
The 48-year-old actor has amassed a huge collection of artwork and a collection of rare manuscripts in his mansion in Hertfordshire, East England – including three paintings of the Rolling Stone legend he created himself, one of which is surrounded by Rizla rolling papers – and even gave one book to Bruce Robinson, the director of his new film ‘The Rum Diary’.
He revealed to The Sun newspaper: “I don’t know how Johnny gets everything done. With the books, it isn’t just a first edition of T. S. Eliot, it’s the manuscript. He showed me the first edition of ‘Les Fleurs Du Mal’ inscribed by Baudelaire. I couldn’t believe it. Then when I got home, I found Johnny had slipped it in my suitcase.”
Johnny has long had a close relationship with the 67-year-old rocker – who plays his father in two ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ films – and has previously revealed he loves getting drunk with him.
He said: “He’s a fascinating man, you know. I’ve known him for a long time. To get periods on set where it’s just him and me hanging out, sitting around and yakking about music, movies whatever, was a real pleasure.
“I’m a wine man and I do like a good glass of red. So I would have my glass of wine and Keith would have his usual.
“I’ve no idea what it is, because it looks like nuclear waste and it’s a combination only he would know.”

Why Johnny Gave Hats 2 Sandra’s Son?
by Abbey on Sep.16, 2011, under Actor
Johnny Depp has given several hats to Sandra Bullock’s toddler son
The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor has nearly 1,000 hats and after his partner Vanessa Paradis ordered him to get rid of some, he decided to give a few to 20-month-old Louis to wear when he’s bigger.
A source told National Enquirer magazine: “Sandra thought it was the sweetest thing. She told Louis often cries if she doesn’t put a hat on his head and that’s why he’s rarely seen without one. Johnny promised to send more.”
Earlier this year, Vanessa ordered Johnny – who has previously been voted Hat Person of the Year – to get rid of his hats because they were starting to overtake their Paris home.
A source said: “He has hundreds of hats – two rooms in their Paris apartment packed with them.
“Vanessa wants some closet room but Johnny’s hats are taking up too much space. She told him point-blank, ‘Johnny, you get those hats out of here or when you’re gone, I’m going to throw them all in the trash.’
“He was horrified. He loves his hats and he is constantly buying more.”
Vanessa’s ultimatum came after her partner – with whom she has two children, Lily-Rose, 11, and eight-year-old Jack – came home with a hat he’d bought from a homeless person, but Hollywood star has now agreed to find somewhere else to store his headwear.

Where Johnny Watched GQ Awards?
by Lisa on Sep.08, 2011, under Actor
Johnny Depp snubbed other guests as he sat in a private room to watch the GQ Men of the Year awards on a TV screen
The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor requested an “expensive leather chair” to sit in and asked for “expensive, vintage red wine” to drink as he watched the ceremony unfold at the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden on Tuesday night (06.09.11).
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Johnny likes his privacy and wanted to watch the ceremony in peace. He had all his home comforts surrounding him and just sat back and took it all in.
“The organisers weren’t fussed by his demands. As far as they were concerned, Johnny would have got anything he asked for.”
The 48-year-old star did make an appearance in front of the other guests – who included Charlize Theron, Emma Watson and Kylie Minogue – to present Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, whose audio book ‘Life’ he voiced, with the Writer of the Year prize.
While receiving the gong, Keith revealed his autobiography is set to be turned into a movie and he admitted the biggest problem facing filmmakers could be finding a suitable actor to portray him.
He said: “There are feelers out at the minute [but] I’m in no rush right at the moment. Also, how are they going to find me? The idea of a succession of Keith Richards coming down is horrifying.”
Johnny famously based his ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ character Captain Jack Sparrow on the legendary rocker and has previously indicated he would be interested in portraying him on the big screen.

Gusee Who’s The Highest Paid Actor — 2010
by Kavy on Aug.02, 2011, under Actor
Leonardo DiCaprio has been named the world’s highest paid actor
The ‘Inception’ star toppled Johnny Depp from the top of Forbes magazine’s list, earning an estimated $77 million in the financial year 2010 – which runs to May this year – compared to the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star’s $50 million.
Leonardo’s films ‘Inception’ and ‘Shutter Island’ took nearly $1.2 billion at the worldwide box office in 2010, with Forbes magazine saying in addition to upfront fees of around $15 million for each film, Leonardo also picked up a share of the profits.
Johnny wasn’t able to match Leonardo, despite starring in the year’s biggest grossing film, ‘Alice In Wonderland’, which made $1.024 billion at the box office, as well as ‘The Tourist’, which wasn’t received well by critics but proved an international success taking $278 million worldwide.
However, the actor – who previously topped the list after earning an estimated $75 million in 2009 – could return to the top spot next year, after staring in the fourth film in the hugely successful ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ series.
Third placed on the list was Adam Sandler, who made $40 million, closely followed by Will Smith and Tom Hanks with $36 million and $35 million respectively.
Leonardo’s earnings were over double that of the highest paid female stars – as recently estimated by Forbes for the same period – Sarah Jessica Parker and Angelina Jolie, who made around $30 million each.
Forbes magazine’s list of highest paid actors for financial year 2010, top five:
1. Leonardo DiCaprio ($77 million)
2. Johnny Depp ($50 million)
3. Adam Sandler ($40 million)
4. Will Smith ($36 million)
5. Tom Hanks ($35 million)

Vanessa Paradis On Ageing
by Abbey on Jun.05, 2011, under Entertainment
Vanessa Paradis doesn’t worry about ageing
The 38-year-old singer-and-actress – who has children Lily-Rose, 12, and nine-year-old Jack with long-term partner Johnny Depp – has accepted her appearance will alter as she gets older, and isn’t concerned about doing anything to change it because she considers her achievements more important than her looks.
She said: “What do you wanna do? You can pull what you’re gonna pull… But it’s always going to be there – the age and the lack of limberness.
“It’s not about that. It depends what you’ve achieved in your life and where you are at in your life. And it’s not like I’m that old that I can’t look at myself in the mirror. I’m not there yet.”
Vanessa admits she feels more comfortable with herself now than she did in her twenties.
She added to Britain’s Vogue magazine: “I do, for sure, feel much better in my shoes than I did when I was 20.
“Just because you’re more at ease – at peace with yourself. Not that you’ve given up anything. But you’re more accepting of the way you are, and who you are. But I know so many women who feel like that.”

Captain Jack Sparrow’s Psychedelic X-perience
by Lisa on May.22, 2011, under Actor
Johnny Depp has revealed it was a “psychedelic experience” to find himself on the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disneyland
The 47-year-old actor stars as Captain Jack Sparrow in the movie franchise based on the popular theme park ride and Johnny revealed he and co-star Geoffrey Rush (Captain Hector Barbossa) found it surreal when they realised they had been incorporated into the attraction.
He said: “It’s pretty psychedelic actually. I suppose you could make it even more psychedelic, but we probably shouldn’t go into that. But yeah, the idea of wandering through this ride and, suddenly, there you are, three times over. Geoffrey had a similar experience. He had to go and get his head round it as well. It’s quite an honour in a weird way, that what you helped create becomes this forever object.”
Along with seeing his character on the theme park ride, Johnny revealed he often finds himself slipping back into character especially when his kids 12-year-old daughter Lily Rose and nine-year-old son Jack are around.
He said: “I can’t shake Jack [Sparrow]. He won’t leave me alone and keeps showing up at odd times. In fact he arrived this morning when I was getting the kids ready for school. I had to shoo him away.”

Johnny And His Hats In Trouble
by Lisa on May.18, 2011, under Actor
Johnny Depp has been ordered to get rid of his hats by Vanessa Paradis
The 47-year-old actor – who has previously been voted Hat Person of the Year – is known for his love of headwear but his long-term partner is furious with how out-of-control his accessories collection has become.
A source said: “He has hundreds of hats – two rooms in their Paris apartment packed with them.
“Vanessa wants some closet room but Johnny’s hats are taking up too much space. She told him point-blank, ‘Johnny, you get those hats out of here or when you’re gone, I’m going to throw them all in the trash. ‘

The insider added to National Enquirer magazine: “That was the last straw. Vanessa was livid. She told Johnny he has until the end of the year to clear out the hats.
“But he’s way too fond of them, so he’ll move the bulk of the hats to one of their other homes.”

Captain Jack Sparrow’s Atmosphere
by Lisa on May.16, 2011, under Actor
Johnny Depp created a relaxed atmosphere on the set of the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise by holding rehearsals at a bar
The 47-year-old actor stars as rum swilling pirate Captain Jack Sparrow in the Disney films and co-star Geoffrey Rush has revealed Johnny was so determined to make everyone comfortable from the start that he got them out of the studio and into his bar, The Viper Room – which he has since sold – for a read through.
He said: “I can’t deny the scale of it. I remember when we were all about to sit down for a table read through at the Disney offices once and Johnny decided we should do it in his club, the Viper Room, instead, so as we would feel on a human scale.
“So if there is a relaxed atmosphere on set, I think it is down to him. He says he sees it as an independent film that happens to have a s**tload of money attached to it.”
Geoffrey revealed he only understood the enormity of the budgets involved while shooting a scene for the third movie, when a crew of 800 people were involved in shooting a short scene.
He explained to Seven magazine: “For six actors to have a dialogue on the beach meant there were 800 people to provide lunch for, stunt men, people to rake the sand between takes and so on. So at that point we did feel pressure not to screw up.”

Johnny Depp N-joyed With His Fans Last Night
by Lisa on May.13, 2011, under Actor
Johnny Depp sent his fans into hysterics at the UK premiere of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ last night (12.05.11)
The Hollywood superstar – who returns to his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the fourth instalment of the Disney franchise – spent almost two hours chatting to his screaming followers and signing autographs and some were so overcome with meeting their idol they broke down in tears.
A source told BANG Showbiz: “Johnny was great with his fans and was happy to sign autographs and greet everyone he could.”
Johnny was joined on the special blue carpet at Westfield London’s Vue Cinema by his glamorous co-star Penelope Cruz, who looked stunning in a long white lace Givenchy gown.
The Spanish beauty – who gave birth to son Leo in January – is making her debut in the franchise and said it was a dream come true because she had always wanted to be a pirate when she was little.
Penelope – who plays Angelica – said: “I loved playing a pirate as when I was a little girl I always used to play pirates so it’s like a dream come true!”
The 37-year-old actress was also overwhelmed with the reaction she got at the UK premiere.
She said: “The welcome I’ve had in London today has been amazing and I thank everyone.”
Other stars from the movie to attend the premiere included Ian McShane, who plays Blackbeard, Geoffrey Rush, who reprises his role as Barbossa, and British newcomer Sam Claflin, who takes on the part of Philip.
‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ is in UK cinemas in Disney Digital 3D and 2D from May 18.

Captain Jack Sparrow’s Music
by Lisa on May.11, 2011, under Music
Johnny Depp is writing music with Steven Tyler
The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ actor – who has previously played guitar on tracks by Oasis and Shane McGowan – has struck up a friendship with the Aerosmith rocker and says their collaboration is a “dream come true”.
He told US TV show ‘Extra’: “We’ve been hanging out here and there. He’s someone I’ve admired greatly for such a long time. The idea of writing songs with him is a dream come true.”
Steven recently admitted he would love to see Johnny play him in a movie of his life and the 47-year-old actor would jump at the chance to portray the rocker.
He said: “I would give it a shot, why not.”
Meanwhile, Johnny – who reprises his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ – has admitted he was pleased Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards agreed to return to the franchise as Captain Teague – because spending time with the legendary musician makes him feel like he is in a rock band.
He said: “To be able to bring him back into the ‘Pirates’ fold, where he most certainly belongs, was a gas.
“Just spending a couple days sharing a trailer, it was as close, I suppose, as being in a rock ‘n’ roll band with him as you can get.”

What Scared Johnny
by Lisa on May.09, 2011, under Actor
Johnny Depp was scared of bugs when he filmed ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’
The 47-year-old – who plays Captain Jack Sparrow in the Disney film franchise – shot several jungle scenes in Hawaii, and although his Australian co-star Geoffrey Rush was comfortable with the assorted creepy crawlies, Johnny approached them with caution.
Speaking on British breakfast TV show ‘Lorraine’, he said: “There were some strange noises in the jungle, Geoffrey comes from Australia – everything there is poisonous, everything, even the beer at times. So yes, there were some really strange creatures out there in the wilds of Hawaii. Things with like a million legs and pinchers and stuff like that. I had some trepidation. I’m still scared.”
Meanwhile, Johnny has revealed he didn’t give his co-star Penelope Cruz much baby advice on set, except promising her parenthood would be the “best ride of her life”.
Penelope and her husband Javier Bardem became parents to son Leo in January and although the 37-year-old actress was pregnant throughout filming last year, father-of-two Johnny mainly kept his own experiences to himself.
The Hollywood heartthrob – who raises daughter Lily-Rose, 11, and eight-year-old son Jack, with his long-term partner Vanessa Paradis – revealed: “The funny thing is when Vanessa and I were expecting our first people were giving us all kinds of advice saying it was gonna be this and it was gonna be that but nothing stands up to what you truly experience when your first kid arrives so all I could tell her was, ‘Just understand that this is going to be the best ride of your life.’ ”

Penelope’s Reaction On ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’
by Alice on May.07, 2011, under Actress
Penelope Cruz “screamed” when she was offered a role in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’
The Spanish actress had previously worked with the movie’s star Johnny Depp on ‘Blow’ and director Rob Marshall on ‘Nine’ and was overjoyed to be given the chance to team with the pair again.
She said: “Rob and I were eating together and he turned to me and said, ‘I have this question to ask you but I don’t know if I’m brave enough to ask as you may say ‘No’.
“‘Well Rob, you have to ask me,’ I said. And he turned and asked, ‘Would you like to do ‘Pirates’ with me and Johnny?’ I heard this and screamed. A very good scream.
“I really love Rob and have longed to work with him again. I want to kiss his feet.”
Penelope also described her previous experience working with Johnny as “very rock ‘n’ roll.”
She said: “Johnny is a great friend, so genuine and unique. My memories of ‘Blow’… Wow that was such an extreme period. It was a wild set, very rock ‘n’ roll. I had missed working with him.”
Penelope also spoke of how her career choices have changed as she has established herself as an actress, admitting in her early days she never turned down work.
She explained to GQ magazine: “When I started, when I was 16 or 17, I never even considered not doing a project. I just wanted to work. I knew who some of those I would work with would be pleasant, and others would be these huge assholes.
“But now, if there’s one thing I can afford to do, having worked so hard for all of these years, it’s that if I go into a meeting with someone that is offering me a movie and I can clearly see they are going to be an asshole, I will not do the movie. No matter what it is.”

Jack Sparrow’s Drinking Partner

Johnny Depp loves drinking with Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards
The 47-year-old star is thrilled to have developed a close friendship with the rocker – who reprises his role as Captain Jack Sparrow’s father in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End’ – and loved hanging out with him on the set of the new swashbuckling adventure – despite being unsure about his friend’s tipple of choice.
Johnny said: “He’s a fascinating man, you know.
Johnny – who has children Lily Rose, 11, and nine-year-old Jack with partner Vanessa Paradis – says his son still loves to see him as his ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ character Jack Sparrow – until his friend, ‘Iron Man’ star Robert Downey Jr., comes over.
He added in an interview with Radio Times magazine: “Oh yeah, he’s still into Captain Jack. But at the same tie he sees me every day, so he’s super used to Papa.
“And you know, Bob Downey, who is an old friend, comes over to the house for dinner and Jack’s like, ‘Oh my God!’ So then Captain Jack becomes secondary to Iron Man.”

Johnny’s Big Tip

Johnny Depp thrilled staff at a British pub when he left £700 in tips
The actor is shooting his new film ‘Dark Shadows’ at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, which is just outside London, and although he staying at a £1,000-a-night, five star hotel in Ascot, Johnny has preferred to spend his evenings in local pub the Thatched Tavern.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: “Johnny is staying at the five star country manor house estate in Coworth Park in Ascot.
“Instead of choosing from the four hotel restaurants, including one which is Michelin-starred, he decided to hang out at a nearby pub with locals.
“Johnny chose to have dinner and drinks in the Thatched Tavern pub a mile-and-a-half up the road from his hotel. On the first night he left a £300 tip for pub staff, followed by £400 the night after.”
Along with splashing his cash, Johnny – who is staying in the English countryside with his partner Vanessa Paradis and their two children Lily Rose, 12, and Jack, nine – has delighted staff with his down to earth attitude.
A source added: “Obviously everyone was really excited to hear Johnny Depp was in the village. But he kept himself to himself in the pub. He wasn’t attracting any attention or trying to get noticed.
“He seemed really nice and said he loves the English countryside. The girls in the pub said he was nothing but charming.”
This is not the first time generous Johnny has handed out a huge tip, the 47-year-old actor previously delighted staff at a Chicago eatery when he left a whopping $4,000 gratuity.

Nostalgic Johnny
by Kavy on Apr.25, 2011, under Actor
Johnny Depp still has “Peter Pan” moments
The 47-year-old star – who has daughter Lily-Rose, 11, and son Jack, nine, with his long-term partner Vanessa Paradis – thinks he has become a better person as he has got older, but admits he doesn’t always feel like he has fully grown up, comparing himself with the fictional character who had a never ending childhood.
Johnny said: “I’ve managed to change in a few regards. I’m not as selfish as I used to be and I’m more sensitive.
“But for heaven’s sake – you can’t take yourself too seriously. I haven’t actually quite grown up yet. At least once a day the Peter Pan in me takes over.”
Johnny – who played ‘Peter Pan’ creator J. M. Barrie in 2004 semi-biographical film ‘Finding Neverland’ – insists his family are his number one priority, and he is grateful that his movie success means he doesn’t have to worry about providing for them.
He said: “Vanessa and the kids are the only thing I need to be happy. Everything else isn’t priority.
“I don’t think I have to worry about being able to feed my family and myself.”
The actor will next be seen reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow for the fourth time in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ but he revealed that Disney bosses almost fired him before he had even finished filming the first movie because they were unhappy with his portrayal of the character.
He explained to Germany’s Playboy magazine: “Back then, when the Disney bosses saw the first samples they started to panic and didn’t want anything to do with that freak – which is what they called me. They thought my Jack Sparrow was too gay, too stoned, too spaced out.”
However, after shooting the first take he realised “the whole crew was wetting itself with laughter” and decided he “had to take the risk”.

Johnny Depp’s daughter is obsessed with Justin Bieber
The Hollywood star has had to start accepting her 11-year-old daughter Lily-Rose is becoming interested in boys and the Canadian pop heartthrob in particular.
Johnny first realised she was a ‘Belieber’ when he told her he had met the ‘Baby’ singer.
He revealed: “Unfortunately, Lily Rose is now severely interested in boys. That’s horrible for me as her dad. I recently met Justin Bieber at a press conference. When I told her that, she changed her colour several times. Jack is like me when I was eight. Totally obsessed with World War II.”
The 47-year-old actor – who also has an eight-year-old son Jack with his long-term partner Vanessa Paradis – can’t believe how mature his daughter is for her age and claims she is already showing she shares her mother’s talent for music.
The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star added: “She is almost 12 and she’s incredible mature for her age, almost frightening smart. She writes little poems and I can picture her starting to write her own songs soon. She has the voice of her mother.”

Terrified Vampire And Irrational Fear — Robert Pattinson
by Lisa on Apr.20, 2011, under Actor
Robert Pattinson is terrified of circuses because he once saw a clown die
The ‘Twilight’ hunk was left traumatised after a stunt went wrong during his first ever visit to the big top with his parents when he was a young boy.
The 24-year-old star told US TV show ‘The Today Show’: “The first time I went to the circus somebody died. One of the clowns died. His little car exploded. The joke car exploded on him. Seriously.
“Everybody ran out. It was terrifying. It’s the only time I’ve ever been to the circus.”
Robert is not the only star who shuns the circus – P. Diddy and Johnny Depp both suffer from Coulrophobia, a fear of clowns. Diddy has a ‘no clowns’ clause written into his contracts, and was once deemed unsuitable to appear on US TV show ‘Fear Factor’ by a therapist because of his irrational phobia.
Speaking of his own fear, Johnny has said:
“There’s something about the painted face, the fake smile. There always seemed to be a darkness lurking just under the surface, a potential for real evil. Something must have happened when I was a kid.”
Other celebrities with strange phobias include Billy Bob Thornton, who has a fear of antique furniture and Nicole Kidman, who has previously admitted to an irrational fear of butterflies.

When Johnny Felt Like A Freak?
by Lisa on Mar.12, 2011, under Actor
Johnny Depp felt like a “complete freak” growing up
The ‘Rango’ star – who has children Lily-Rose, 11, and eight-year-old Jack with long-term partner Vanessa Paradis – used to shut himself away when he was younger because he never felt like he fitted in.
He admitted: “When I was growing up I felt a complete freak. Very strange. I felt weird at five. At the age of 12 it was me against the world.
“I remember locking myself in my bedroom and playing my guitar. It seemed like I was in there for two or three years.”
However, the 47-year-old actor has learned to accept himself since finding love with Vanessa 12 years ago, and admits he views his life in two stages, before and after meeting the French singer-and-actress.
He explained: “The most important thing is that Vanessa has made me not have to pretend any more about who I am. I feel comfortable with myself.
“My life is divided in two. In the time before I met Vanessa, I was searching for something.
“Since our time together I have found it. She keeps me calm. There were times when I was burning inside.”

Johnny Depp has praised Angelina Jolie’s “shockingly great” parenting skills
The ‘Tourist’ actor admits his co-star – who raises six children, Maddox, nine, Pax, six, Zahara, five, Shiloh, four, and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, with her partner Brad Pitt – does a fantastic job of juggling her mothering duties with her career, and thinks he would “probably be in prison” if he had so much to deal with.
He said: “She is such a versatile, wonderful person who can portray anything. She is a down to earth, clever, funny, woman and shockingly great mother.
“She is very calm even if she’s surrounded by paparazzi. I don’t know what I would do. I could’ve been in prison by now!”
The 47-year-old star – who has been in a relationship with French actress-and-singer Vanessa Paradis since 1998 – also joked that he “can’t remember” the intimate scenes he shot with Angelina in ‘The Tourist’.
When asked how he felt performing such raunchy scenes with the actress at a press conference in Tokyo, Japan, he said: “I didn’t tell my family that I was shooting the film. Taylor Lautner has beaten his ‘Twilight’ co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in 2010’s Hollywood Top 40 Earners List
Compiled by Vanity Fair magazine, the rankings revealed the 18-year-old actor raked in an estimated $33.5 million for his various movie appearances throughout 2010, making him the ninth-highest earner in Hollywood.
As well as pushing last year’s number nine Robert Downey Jr. into tenth place, Taylor beat both Kristen and Robert – who received $28.5 million and $27.5 million for their respective film roles over the past 12 months – who landed in 13th and 14th places.
Vanity Fair’s contributing editor Peter Newcomb explained: “He’s perhaps the highest-paid teenage star right now. When they first negotiated their contracts, they were getting paid a lot less.
“Then, with the immense success of the film, the agents went back and renegotiated the deal – Lautner’s deal in particular was really bumped up.”
With ‘Avatar‘ director and producer James Cameron securing the top spot in the rankings with an estimated yearly earning of $257 million, Johnny Depp – who raked in $100 million in 2010 – was listed as the highest-earning actor, taking home $40 million for his role as the Mad Hatter in ‘Alice in Wonderland’ alone.
However, despite being pipped to the post by her ‘Twilight’ co-star, Kristen Stewart’s estimated $28.5 million earnings made her the highest-ranking female star in 2010.

Vanessa Paradis’ Confessions

Vanessa Paradis doesn’t want to “please everyone”
The French singer-and-actress – who has children Lily-Rose, 11, and seven-year-old Jack with partner Johnny Depp – was upset when she once heard a TV presenter criticise her vocal ability but learned to accept not everyone will enjoy her work.
She said: “A TV presenter was once talking about people he couldn’t stand and one of them was me.
“He said my voice was too quiet; as a singer, that’s a pretty bad thing to hear. But then you can’t please everyone, and I don’t want to.”
The 38-year-old beauty – who shot to fame as a singer aged just 14 – has also spent time as a model for brands such as Miu Miu and Chanel, but doesn’t think it overshadows her other work.
She revealed: “I started in music – and modelling and acting came later, so I don’t think that side of things has made people in the music industry take me any less seriously.
“Anyway, I started at an age when I didn’t look my best – I was only a teenager.”

The 47-year-old actor spent several months in the Italian city with his family while shooting ‘The Tourist’ with Angelina Jolie and he was reportedly so besotted with the stunning location, he has bought the 17th century Palazzo Dona Sangiantoffetti.
According to local newspaper La Nuova Venezia, the Hollywood star outbid an Arab prince for the empty building which is one of the only available homes overlooking the famous Grand Canal.
Johnny – who has two children Lily-Rose , 11, and eight-year-old Jack with his French partner Vanessa Paradis – has previously spoken of his love for the city and revealed he loved to explore late at night when the streets were quiet.
He said: “My experience of Venice really happened between 10pm and 2am when the streets closed and I was able to walk around and experience the poetry of Venice, the ghosts of Venice, all those wonderful dark alleys.
“For an actor being able to film within the confines of that magical city certainly helps… The city’s magic shone through completely.”
While the actor and his family spent most of their time at their estate in France, he also owns a home in Hollywood and a 45 acre island in the Bahamas.

Did Really Ricky Gervais Cross The Line @ GG?
by Kavy on Jan.18, 2011, under Actor, Award, Entertainment, updates
Ricky Gervais has been slammed by Golden Globe organisers for his “unacceptable” remarks during the ceremony
The British comedian caused controversy when he mocked a number of stars including Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp, Robert Downey Jr. and Steve Carrell while hosting the awards show on Sunday (16.01.11) and Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) president Philip Berk – who was also the subject of jibes by the host – was unimpressed.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “He definitely crossed the line. And some of the things were totally unacceptable.
“Any of the references to individuals is certainly not something the Hollywood Foreign Press condones.”
The HFPA has reportedly been inundated with angry phone calls from agents claiming their clients were offended but Philip claims his organisation were unaware of what Ricky would say.
He said: “I had absolutely no idea what Ricky was going to say so anything I heard was heard the same time you heard it. When you hire Ricky Gervais you expect the unexpected.”
While Ricky, 49, admitted he was unsure if he would be asked back to host the event for a third time – after also taking charge in 2010 – he claimed he loved the experience and was happy with his performance.
When asked if he had fun, Ricky replied “Oh absolutely. For three hours every year, Hollywood is scared to death of me. It’s great.”
A number of celebrities took to twitter to show their support for the comic.
Legendary broadcaster Larry King writing: “The folks who put on the Globes have no right to complain about Ricky Gervais. He does what he does. Why should it surprise them? You agree?”.
Actress Elizabeth Banks added: “I thought RG was hilarious. Actors can take it. We have thick skins.”
Hugh Hefner responded to a joke Ricky made about the age gap between himself and his 24-year-old fiancee Crystal Harris, saying: “the Golden Globes was a blast. They made fun of everyone, including Crystal & me. A great night. (sic)”

The Bulldog Story : Johnny Depp
by Alice on Jan.13, 2011, under Actor, Actress, Entertainment
Johnny Depp had to be rescued from Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s dog
The 47-year-old actor – who starred with the actress in ‘The Tourist‘ – is not a fan of canines, but agreed to watch the pooch so the couple could go on a romantic date, but soon regretted his kind gesture.
He recalled: “Foolishly I was persuaded to look after their dog Jacques for a night. He’s a huge bulldog. At first I had a terrible feeling, because Jacques smelt horrible.
“But then I told myself, ‘Come on, you will survive one night’. Everything was cool – until I sat down on the bed to take my shoes off. Jacques pounced on me from behind and kept jumping around on me.
“He’s not small. Around 175lbs of dog was hurled at me, which felt like about 300lbs. I shouted for help and luckily someone came to take that beast off me.”
Despite the incident, Johnny did not let it affect his relationship with the couple – who raise six children together – and he and long-term partner Vanessa Paradis, 38, enjoyed being able to socialise with them after filming ended for the day.
He told German magazine TV Movie: “We often went for dinner with them. It was great. I’ve known Brad since the end of the Eighties. It was great to see him as a man and amazing father.”

Johnny Depp On Life-style
by Lisa on Jan.10, 2011, under Actor
Johnny Depp wants to “run away” from modern life
The ‘Tourist’ actor – who has children Lily-Rose, 11, and eight-year old Jack with long-term partner Vanessa Paradis – believes developments in technology and a shift in favoured forms of entertainment have lead to people losing their sense of self.
He explained: “Sometimes I’d like to run away screaming from our technology-obsessed world, the invasive media, the madness of reality TV.
“We’ve lost touch with the simple things of life. We’re losing our individuality.”
Johnny, 47, lives in the south of France with his family, but he and Vanessa, 38, own a Caribbean island where they can retreat for some privacy, which the actor says is crucial to keep him sane.
He told Red Bulletin magazine: “The island might sound extravagant but I need somewhere I can breathe easily or just sit around and chat without someone taking my picture.”
The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor used to be famed for his wild partying, and he credits meeting Vanessa 12 years ago with helping him turn his life around.
He said: “Anything I’d done before was kind of an illusion.
“My daughter, the birth of my daughter, gave me life.
“Now, my greatest hope is that I’ll be fair to the people I love.”
