A source told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: “Jennifer and Marc couldn’t see eye-to-eye on the subject. She’s always been more into the church than him. He wasn’t a huge fan and it caused problems.”

When we were first married, most of the time, and even before the babies were born, we were able to go everywhere together. I wasn’t working as much. So we kind of had that. I went on tour with him a few times in the first few years of our marriage, and we did a film together. It’s hard, and we’re figuring it out. It’s tough.

The ‘On the Floor’ hitmaker – who split from her husband of seven years Marc Anthony, the father of her three-year-old twins Max and Emme, earlier this month – celebrated at the Scarpetta restaurant inside in Fontainebleau hotel in Miami with friends and family, and enjoyed the evening despite her recent personal troubles.

A source told People: “Jennifer looked radiant in a purple and silver evening dress. And when they brought out her birthday cake after the meal, she began to sing.

“She was very happy. The whole group had a blast, staying for hours. They closed down the restaurant.”

It was the second party Jennifer had to celebrate her birthday, which was yesterday (24.07.111), in two days.

She enjoyed a night at the Wine Cellar of the Forge on Miami Beach on Friday (22.07.11), where she was “chatty” with other revellers at the event and enjoyed an extensive menu of lobster peanut butter and jelly and chocolate souffle.

A source added: “Jennifer and her group arrived at around 9pm and went directly to the private wine cellar for a pre-birthday dinner. It was very secluded and beautiful among the bottles with bold vibrant labels.

The source told Star magazine: “Jen told him she wanted out of the marriage late last year, but he begged her to stay. “She stayed, but she was miserable until finally she couldn’t take it anymore.”

The ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing’ singer announced the shock split from her musician husband of seven years last Friday (15.07.11), but friends admit they had fought with each other for some time.

A source told usmagazine.com: “They had a very up and down marriage, they would get into heated, horrible fights. “Then, they would also go through times where they were extremely loving and romantic. It was a roller coaster with them from the beginning.”

Jennifer Lopez thinks it is “horrible” her first husband is trying to sell a “personal” video

The 41-year-old singer’s former partner Ojani Noa – who she split with after less than a year of marriage in 1998 – has been banned from releasing the tape, which reportedly contains 27 hours of footage, and she admits it is upsetting he would try to in the first place, but says it is not a “sex tape”.

She told Culture magazine: “My first husband has tapes of us from our life. It’s horrible. It’s horrible someone would try to sell personal things, but there’s nothing on it. There’s no sex tape.”

The intimate video recently went missing, with Ojani’s girlfriend Claudia Vazquez claiming his manager Ed Meyer took it from their house without permission.

However, the recording has since been recovered, with Ed handing it over to Jennifer’s attorney Jay Lavley via a safe deposit box at the City National Bank in Century City, California.

He said: “Now there is an evidentiary chain. Before they just wanted me to hand it over to Jay Lavely and he would just put it in a drawer. We went with a bank so people will be photographed coming in and out and there is no tampering.”

Jennifer Lopez is hoping to embrace her Latin roots for her new show

The ‘American Idol’ judge and her husband singer Marc Anthony will travel to 21 countries across the Americas where they will ask local people to help them find “world’s most extraordinary talent” for ‘Q’Viva! The Chosen’.

Jennifer said: “With this show we hope for the first time to unite all of the Latin cultures and make something that makes everybody proud. This is like me being able to really, really go, ‘I am Latina, and this is who we are! Isn’t it fabulous? Isn’t it amazing? Doesn’t it bring tears to your eyes and make you want to dance and smile and jump and stay up all night?’”

The couple will work with tour director Jamie King and according to Jennifer, will travel to “places people wouldn’t normally look, where all of this rich talent lives and wouldn’t normally be discovered,” including clubs, bars, dance studios and festivals.

Marc added they hope to be “literally guided by the [local] people, leaving no stone unturned”.

The people discovered on their travels will be brought to Hollywood, where they will be mentored by the stars to create “the ultimate live show.”

Jennifer explained: “It really is a show for the 21st century. It’s unprecedented in that it’s global and it’s local. We’re going to do our best make the most amazing show that the world has ever seen.”

Jennifer Lopez doesn’t have facial treatments

The singer-and-actress insists she keeps her skincare regime to a minimum and credits her appearance to lots of sleep, drinking water and relaxing.

She said: “I try to get enough good sleep, about seven or eight hours and I drink a lot of water.

“I don’t have facials or treatments. I don’t like messing with my face or my skin too much. I don’t do scrubs or peels or anything like that, I just do the basics. I use moisture masks a lot though.

“If I have a red-carpet event, I’ll do a face mask in the morning. And I’ll take a nice bath to relax myself because I think the better you feel, the better you look. Then I’ll have a coffee and take the day slow. I don’t like to rush.”

Jennifer – who is married to Marc Anthony – also admitted she struggled to get back in the exercise habit following the birth of her twins Max and Emme, now three.

She added to Company magazine: “After I had the babies, I wasn’t motivated at all. I did a triathlon, which was a goal I had set for myself before having them. I did it because I’d said I was going to do it and it was for charity. After that, I stopped exercising totally for a while.

“I was tired, the babies were my life and I just wasn’t motivated. It took a lot of mental energy to get focused again.”

Jennifer Lopez says giving birth is the most “empowering” thing she has done

The 41-year-old singer-and-actress was inspired to launch her own charitable organisation The Maribel Foundation – which is named after her husband Marc Anthony’s sister, who died from a brain tumour – after giving birth to twins Max and Emme, now three.

She said: “What’s the most empowering thing I’ve ever done? God. Probably giving birth. And as a direct result of that, setting up a charity with my sister Lynda.

“It was a dream we had for a long time. Once we had babies we were ready to say, ‘Let’s do it’. We’re not claiming to change the world in one day, we’re just going to do our little part.

“We always said we’d help women and children’s health and education and now it’s happening.”

Jennifer also believes that the more women are happy with themselves, the more likely they are to take in interest in their appearance.

She said: “A part of how you take care of yourself on the outside reflects how you feel within.

“If you become empowered on the inside, it will get reflected on the outside. I don’t believe for one second that’s a superficial thing, it is important.”

Jennifer Lopez has to “work harder” to maintain a trim figure since she became a mother.

The singer-and-actress – who has three-year-old twins Max and Emme with husband Marc Anthony – admits she never used to have to watch what she ate but now finds it more difficult to stay slim without effort.

She said: “I’ve always been athletic and really enjoyed that. And I’ve never been a big eater which always works in my favour.

“But since I had the babies, it’s been harder. Your body does change. Not too drastically, but I definitely have to work harder and watch what I eat more.

“I’ve never had to work on my stomach before – it was like, concave, I was a lucky person – but since the babies, I do. I really have to work on it.”

The ‘American Idol’ judge also revealed her skin is her favourite feature, but she is unsure whether she will undergo cosmetic surgery in the future if ageing starts to take its toll.

She said: “What do I like best? That’s a hard one. Probably my skin. I’m very happy with my skin – it’s holding up well.

“I don’t know if I’d have surgery. I don’t know how I’ll feel in my 50s and 60s. I can only speak for me and I don’t feel like it’s something I want to do. But when things have changed, I might feel very differently. I reserve the right to change my mind.”

Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are going to bring “heat” to the new series of ‘American Idol’

The two singers have joined Randy Jackson on the panel after previous judges Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres left the show but Randy thinks this year’s contestants are even more talented than in previous seasons and says the new series will be better than ever.

He said: “It’s gonna be hot. You’re gonna love it. I’m telling you, trust me. There’s lots of new talent.

“Heat, that’s what they’re going to bring. Watch, you’re going to love them. Steven is mad cool. I love him.”

Along with a new panel Randy joked he has some other changes planned for the show, including a live performance and album collaboration between him, TV host Mario Lopez and rapper Lil Wayne.

He added in an interview with RadarOnline.com: “Mario’s gonna sing. We’re gonna do a hip hop album with Mario. Me and Mario and Lil Wayne are doing this crazy album. The only problem, we just gotta call Lil Wayne first.”

Jennifer Lopez has previously revealed she is excited about the talent so far – even though the lengthy audition process did take its toll.

She said: “We’ve put a bunch of people through – probably more than they have in the past.

“We have about 15-20 real superstars, people who could be recording artists.

“I’ve cried. We get a lot of elation when we put them through and devastation, almost, when they’re not. But it’s been a ball.”

Jennifer Lopez is to be sued by her ex-husband’s girlfriend

Claudia Vazquez – who is in a relationship with Ojani Noa, the singer-and-actress’ spouse for just under a year until January 1998 – is planning to file a $10 million lawsuit against the star in Los Angeles later today (15.12.10).

The case will allege that Jennifer misstated facts to the court to obtain a restraining order against her former spouse – who she has been trying to prevent making their old home videos public – which then interfered with a motion picture contract between Claudia, Ojani and Ed Meyer, who had been set to produce the tapes.

Ed said: “We believe that this entire lawsuit against Ojani and I over the movie and the ‘Sex Tapes’ Home Videos enters around Jennifer Lopez’s hatred for Ojani Noa dating Claudia Vazquez.”

According to Ed, Jennifer – who has two-year-old twins Max and Emme with her current husband Marc Anthony – “hates” Claudia and embarked on her initial legal battle as a result of a personal vendetta against her.

He added to RadarOnline.com: “Vazquez has met Jennifer Lopez on many occasions. They hate each other. Jennifer Lopez called her a ‘w***e’ to a Univision reporter last year.

“She met Jennifer Lopez the first time when Jennifer walked in on Claudia Vazquez and Ojani Noa having sex in the Hancock Park mansion that Ojani lives in. Jennifer was dating Ben Affleck at the time.”

Ojani and Claudia have been dating for 10 years.

Jennifer Lopez will be the “tough” judge on ‘American Idol’

The singer-and-actress has joined the panel along with Aerosmith frontman Steve Tyler and insists she hasn’t been going easy on the pop hopefuls since the auditions began.

Jennifer, 41, described her judging style as “tough, easy and fair,” adding: “I really want to put them through the wringer in the sense that I don’t want to let anybody really great go because they’re nervous or whatever and not get to see what they could’ve been.

“We working with them a little more than maybe you’ve seen in the past. We give them more of a chance.”

The show started filming auditions at the end of September in Los Angeles, and has recently moved to New Jersey where J.Lo warned prospective contestants she is looking for more than just vocal talent when she judges them.

Their look and style are also very important to her – although she won’t give out any specific tips as to what she’s looking for.

She said: “It’s definitely part of a package when you’re going to be an artist, but I can’t tell you what that would be because it’s a very personal, individual thing.”

Tyler has also been trying to judge the contestants “fairly”, but has advised anyone whose audition isn’t successful not to direct their frustration at the judging panel, which also includes Randy Jackson.

He said: “Don’t get mad at what we say. Get better!”
