Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z are reportedly set to renew their wedding vows next year

The superstar couple – who married on 4 April 2008 – recently had a romantic break in Paris, France, and while they are keen to start a family together in the future, they want to prove their love for each other first by renewing their vows on their fourth wedding anniversary.

A source told Now magazine: “In Paris, Beyonce told jay she wanted to have another wedding ceremony before seriously considering babies. Jay jumped at the chance to prove again he’s committed forever.

“Bey saw a couture wedding dress she wants while they were there, but the cute thing is they’re both superstitious about the number four – which is why they married on the fourth day of the fourth month. They’ll have four years of marriage behind them next year and they want to make it a big one. They’ve set aside over $1 million for it. Expect bling like you’ve never seen before.”

While they are busy planning their vow renewals, the couple celebrated their three year anniversary with a romantic trip to Paris, where no expense was spared.

The source continued: “They combined work with their anniversary and Jay pulled out all the stops to make it special. They flew in his private jet and stayed at Le Meurice hotel, which overlooks the Tuileries Palace Gardens. It’s the most expensive hotel in the city by far. Their suite had a private kitchen, a glass enclosed dining room and huge open-air terrace.”

Jay-Z surprised Beyonce Knowles with a trip to the Bahamas for their third wedding anniversary

The millionaire rapper delighted his wife of three years with the luxury break, ensuring their villa was filled with their favourite white flowers and champagne on ice, as well as laying on candle-lit seafood dinners on the beach.

Despite their romantic holiday, the couple were happy to spend time with other people and were particularly happy to find the 29-year-old singer’s ‘Austin Powers in Goldmember’ co-star Verne Troyer was staying nearby, so they invited him to join them for the evening.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “They bumped into Verne on a jaunt out one day. They were really surprised to see him.

“They had a laugh then he joined them for the rest of the day and dinner that evening.”

Once the couple – who married in April 2008 – have finished celebrating their anniversary, Beyonce is due to head back to the US to prepare to release her fourth album, reportedly scheduled for late June.

It’s not the first time Jay-Z has lavished expensive gifts on his superstar spouse, reportedly buying her $350,000 worth of designer handbags and purses last Christmas.

The 41-year-old star was seen in the Hermes boutique on Madison Avenue, in New York City, on Christmas Eve (24.12.10) where he picked out a selection of Birkin bags.

The ‘Halo’ singer has also treated her husband, splashing out $2 million on a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport car for his 41st birthday earlier that month.

The ‘Coming Home’ rapper – who already has five children, Justin, 17, Christian, 12, Chance, four, and four-year-old twins D’Lila Star and Jessie James, by three different women and is an informal stepfather to another child, Quincy Jones Brown, the son of his on/off girlfriend Kimberly Porter – admits the news the couple are expecting their fourth child together has made him broody.

Diddy – who is close friends with soccer player David – said: “I last saw Beckham a couple months ago. We are both proud fathers. That’s what our friendship is about, not being stars or artists.

“We ask how are kids are doing. I’m so happy he’s got another on the way. I hope he has as many as me. I want more.”

Although he is currently single, the 41-year-old music mogul – who has never married and has dated a number of beautiful women including Jennifer Lopez – hasn’t given up on the idea of finding true love and admits he is slightly envious of fellow rapper Jay-Z’s happy marriage to Beyonce Knowles.

Eminem leads the 2011 Grammy nominations, with nods in 10 categories

The ‘Not Afraid’ rapper is in the running for some of the most prestigious prizes at the annual ceremony, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Record Of The Year.

Singer-and-songwriter Bruno Mars got the second most nominations when they were announced last night (01.12.10) with seven, while Lady Gaga, rapper Jay-Z and country act Lady Antebellum all scored six.

Bruno – who, among his nominations, is up for Best Male Pop Vocal for his hit ‘Just the Way You Are’ – said: “It’s just been a great year, incredible, incredible year, and I can’t believe this is happening to me.

“We’ve worked so hard trying to make a living doing music and the fact that we’re here right now is incredible, incredible.”

Another track co-written by Bruno – Cee Lo Green’s ‘F**k You’ – was nominated for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year, and Cee Lo said he never realised the track, which was edited to ‘Forget You’ for the radio, would be such a hit.

He said: “It wasn’t meant to be a radio song. It was meant to be something with flair and first impression and it really took on a life of its own, and I had no idea it would become what it is today.”

In the Best Newcomer category, Justin Bieber found himself nominated alongside his fellow Canadian, rapper Drake.

He told LL Cool J – who hosted the nominations show at Club Nokia in Los Angeles: “It feels amazing – I can’t believe I’m in this position! I don’t know what to say!”

Among the performers at the nominations show were Katy Perry - who opened proceedings with ‘California Gurls’ - Justin Bieber, rapper B.o.B and indie group Train.

The 53rd Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on 13 February 2011.

Beyonce Knowles is reportedly pregnant with her first child.

The ‘Halo’ singer – who is married to hip-hop superstar Jay-Z – was said to be shocked when she discovered she was expecting, but is now thrilled with the news.

A source told Us Weekly magazine: “B was shocked. She loves kids, but she wasn’t ready to be a mother just yet. She really wanted to get her album done and tour the world again.”

Another insider added: “She now knows this is a gift from God and she’s so happy.”

Friends of the couple – who married in 2008 – have expressed their delight at the news, saying they will make wonderful parents.

Record executive Kevin Liles – a close friend of Jay-Z – said: “Jay has been all about family since I met him, and he’s always going to be. I wish them the best.”

Beyonce’s sister Solange added:

“She’s got the most beautiful heart. She’ll be a great mom.”

In 2008, Beyonce said she “isn’t ready” to have children.

The 29-year-old beauty revealed: “I know I want kids but I have never been a girl who sees a baby and goes, ‘Oh! I want one!’ But when I do eventually have a child, I can only pray he is as amazing as my nephew Jules. He’s just the best. He is also a lot of work!

“I’ve seen the reality of having a kid and I know I’m not quite ready for it yet.”

The eccentric singer reportedly splashed out thousands of dollars on the raunchy gift and a matching underwear set, which she presented to her while singing ‘Happy Birthday’.

A source said: “Gaga wanted to give her something special. The whip was made out of hundreds of diamonds and leather.

“When Beyonce received it she squealed with excitement.”

The ‘Poker Face’ star handed over the saucy gifts backstage at Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z’s concert in Detroit last week, with the ’99 Problems’ hitmaker also making an effort to mark his spouse’s birthday.

The source added to The Sun newspaper: “The dressing room was decorated with balloons and banners and a lot of champagne had been put on too.”

Lady Gaga’s eccentric present was likely to be inspired from her prison-themed music video for single ’Telephone’ – which starred Beyonce.

Jay-Z plans to get fat

The 40-year-old rapper – who ‘retired’ from music in 2003 to take up the position of CEO of Def Jam records before making a comeback –already has a “Marlon Brando retirement plan” in mind for himself and wife Beyonce Knowles in the future.

Explaining he wants to live on a private island, employ a “genius chef”, smoke cigars, drink fine wines and get fat, the ‘99 Problems‘ star said:  “That’s what I enjoy. That’s the payback for all the hard work.

“Beyonce will be on the island too. But I don’t think she plan to get as fat as me. I’m gonna be fat.”

The music mogul – real name Shawn Carter – also revealed one of the high points of his career was when U2 frontman Bono invited him and Beyonce to holiday at the ‘One’ hitmaker’s home in St. Tropez, France.

Jay-Z is the highest-earning man in hip-hop.

The ’99 Problems’ rapper – who is married to singer-and-actress Beyonce Knowles – has topped Forbes list of hip-hop ‘Cash Kings’ for the third year out of four. After he raked in $63 million in the last 12 months, thanks to his ‘Blueprint 3’ world tour and other ventures including his record label, fashion line, and stakes in the New York Nets basketball team, Broadway music ‘Fela!’ and a chain of sports bars.

Ryan Schinman, chief of Platinum Rye, America’s largest buyer of music and talent for big corporations, said: “Jay-Z is in a league of his own right now. There are very few artists of any genre, not just hip-hop, who’ve created such brands for themselves.”

Music mogul P. Diddy came in second in the list, although grossed less than half of the money earned by Jay-Z at $30 million.

Senegalese artist Akon – who has recently worked with artists including Whitney Houston and David Guetta – was third in the list, earning $21 million, partly from revenue generated by his Konvict clothing range.

Lil Wayne, who is currently serving jail time for weapons charges, made $20 million, while rapper-turned-actor Ludacris took $16 million, just behind Dr. Dre on $17 million.

Troy Marshall, vice president of promotions at Interscope records, added: “There’s a lot of cross-branding and cross-marketing that’s going on these days. Those are very important components for artists as far as spreading the message of their music and spreading the message of their brand.”

Other artists making the top 10 include Snoop Dogg, Pharrell Williams and Kanye West.

50 Cent – the only other person to have topped the list in the last four years, making £150 million in 2008 – saw his position slump to 14, after making a relatively-low £8 million in the last 12 months.

Beyonce Knowles believes being a feminist has helped her have successful relationships with men

The ‘Halo’ singer – who is married to hip-hop superstar Jay-Z – says she’s always had good friendships with females and thinks that has played a big part in her never falling for the wrong type of man.

She said: “I think I am a feminist in a way. It’s not something I consciously decided I was going to be; perhaps it’s because I grew up in a singing group with other women, and that was so helpful to me. It kept me out of so much trouble and out of bad relationships. My friendships with my girls are just so much a part of me that there are things I am never going to do that would upset that bond. I never want to betray that friendship because I love being a woman and I love being a friend to other women. “I think we learn a lot from our female friends – female friendship is very, very important.”

While her personal relationships are very important to her, Beyonce admits she sometimes finds it hard to balance everything in her life.

She told You magazine: “For me, balance is always really hard to find. I love so many different things, and to have the discipline to turn certain things away and focus on one thing at a time so that I can give it 100 per cent is really hard. “Probably the biggest challenge in my life is time – making sure I have time to be a wife, to be a singer, to be a songwriter, to be an actor and still have time for my clothing line and now for my perfume. I am like any other woman who has a child, who has a husband, who has a job. I think it’s the hardest thing about being a woman because we have so many responsibilities.”

Jennifer Aniston Allegedly Victim of Dangerous Stalker

TMZ has learned … Jennifer Aniston just got a restraining order against a man who was arrested after prowling around a place she frequents — and the man had a sharp object, duct tape and is considered violent.

According to the docs, Jason Peyton was found on July 15, “laying-in-wait in a location he believes she frequents with a ’sharp object, a bag, a roll of duct tape and written messages about [Aniston].”

Aniston’s lawyer says in the docs … Peyton spent 8 days trying to find her and when he was taken into custody cops found carved messages in the paint of his car saying, “I LOVE YOU JENNIFER ANISTON.”

According to the documents, obtained by TMZ, “Peyton is an obsessed, mentally ill and delusional stalker — with a history of violence and criminal stalking — who drove cross-country in his delusional ‘mission’ to locate and marry [Aniston], with whom he believes he is in a relationship.”

After being arrested, the 24-year-old Peyton was placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold.

According to the restraining order, Peyton must stay 100 yards away from her home, places of work and vehicles.  Peyton must also stay clear of her employees, agents, managers and other reps.

The way cops found out Peyton was in L.A. looking for Aniston … he left a note for his dad on June 25 in Pennsylvania, stating he was going to California which his dad knew meant he was looking for Aniston, so the father gave cops a heads up.

As for Peyton’s violent past – it includes stabbing himself and hitting his mother with a golf club.

Peyton, who has been institutionalized before, was ordered to take antipsychotic drugs but authorities say he stopped taking them in March.

Peyton believes he’s related to Oprah, Nelson Mandela, Jay-Z, Jennifer Lopez, Courteney Cox, Bill and Melinda Gates, President George Bush (both of them) and Donald Trump.

LAPD’s Threat Management Unit is involved in the case — translation, it’s serious.

U2 have earned $130 million over the last 12 months.

The Irish rockers – who were recently forced to scrap a number of concerts after frontman Bono suffered a back injury – netted the staggering sum between July 2009 and June 2010 thanks to selling over 1.3 million tickets for their epic ‘360’ tour, boosting their earnings further with merchandise sales and strong radio play for their extensive back catalogue.

Although U2 were named the Top Earning Musicians of 2010, according to figures compiled by Forbes magazine, veteran rock group AC/DC came a close second, earning $114 million from a tour which grossed $226 million – $2.3 million per night.

Beyonce Knowles was named the highest earning female of the year, taking third place with a stash of $87 million, thanks to a world tour, sales from her House of Dereon fashion line and endorsement deals.

Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z also featured in the list, taking the sixth spot after raking in $63 million from record sales, a tour and his stakes in the New Jersey Nets basketball team, 40/40 nightclub chain and hit stage show ‘Fela!’.

He was beaten by Bruce Springsteen and Britney Spears, who amassed $70 million and $64 million respectively.

Eccentric singer Lady Gaga was a new addition, featuring at number seven with $62 million earnings, thanks to CD and download sales, her ‘Monster’s Ball’ world tour and endorsement deals, narrowly beating her idol Madonna, who took eighth place with $58 million.

Country star Kenny Chesney landed at number nine after filling his bank with $50 million, while the final spot was tied between Black Eyed Peas, Coldplay and Toby Keith who all earned $48 million.

Beyonce Knowles narrowly escaped serious injury after her car door was ripped off by a taxi in London.

The ‘Halo’ singer opened the door of her Mercedes after deciding to pop into top store Harrods en route to a restaurant in the UK capital’s Knightsbrige area.

Shoppers looked on in horror as the taxi collided with the car’s door, ripping it off its hinges and missing Beyonce by just a matter of centimetres.

The pop star – who was travelling with her hip-hop guru husband Jay-Z - looked visibly shaken after the incident.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “It was terrifying to watch. It all happened so quickly, the taxi came out of nowhere.

“She seemed very shaken and was lucky to be alive. A couple of seconds difference and God knows what could have happened.”

Beyonce, 28, and Jay-Z, 40, were on their way to a romantic meal at Japanese eatery Zuma when the singer decided to make her impromptu stop.

After the accident, the couple were forced to dump the damaged car – and were sent a replacement to take them to the restaurant.

She was later seen looking happy and relaxed after leaving Zuma with Jay-Z.

Oprah Winfrey has been named the world’s most powerful celebrity.

The TV star – who fronts ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ and is the president of media company Harpo Productions – has topped the annual Most Powerful Celebrity poll conducted by Forbes magazine, knocking Angelina Jolie off the top spot with earnings of $315 million last year.

The 56-year-old star was previously named top of the coveted list in 2007 and 2008, before Angelina – who is now in 18th position – took over from her in 2009.

The 2010 figures also include a number of new stars, with Lady Gaga flying into fourth place with earnings of $62 million, behind Beyonce Knowles with $87 million in second, and film director James Cameron in third with $210 million earned last year.

The Forbes Most Powerful Celebrity list looks at wealth, TV/radio popularity, press rank, web rank and social status – with even twitter followers being taken into consideration.

The 2010 poll placed ‘Twilight’ star Robert Pattinson on the list for the first time, in 50th position following the success of the vampire movies, and after earning $17 million last year.

His co-star and rumoured girlfriend Kristen Stewart came 66th after earning $12 million from the franchise and working on new movie ‘The Runaways’.

Despite a tumultuous year in her personal life, Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock was placed eighth in the poll after pocketing $56 million in the past 12 months. She was just behind golfer Tiger Woods, who was placed fifth, Britney Spears, sixth, and rock band U2 - consisting of Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. – who were placed seventh.

Justin Bieber has been nominated for a Black Entertainment Television (BET) award.

The 16-year-old singer’s speedy rise to super-stardom, aided by R&B star Usher, has earned him a nod in the Best New Artist category at the upcoming ceremony, because he’s thought of as a “crossover” artist.

Stephen Hill, BET’s President of Music Programming and Specials, said: “Bieber has crossed the colour boundaries the same way that hip-hop has crossed the boundaries the other way for a number of years. He’s had rhythm in his music. He makes the type of music our audience likes.”

The awards – which generally only recognise black entertainers, singers, actors and athletes – will see Justin battle it out against fellow rising stars Nicki Minaj, B.o.B, Young Money and Melanie Fiona.

Rapper Jay-Z has the most nominations with five and will compete with wife Beyonce Knowles for Video of the Year, Best Collaboration and the Viewers’ Choice accolade.

Other nominees include Alicia Keys, Rihanna and Kanye West.

Queen Latifah is set to present the ceremony which will air live on June 27 from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Katy Perry the “Waking Up in Vegas” singer is on the highlights again, on Saturday night the pop star celebrated blogger Perez Hilton’s birthday party at Paramount Studios in L.A.

In this grand event Katy made a sensational appearance on the back of an elephant singing “Happy Birthday” to her friend, while guests like Audrina Patridge and Lindsay Lohan watched.

Earlier in the evening the Pop star appeared live on Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards at L.A.’s Pauley Pavilion and was excited about unleashing her new songs, speaking to MTV News at this event she said, “It’s so exciting. It’s coming out this summer. It’s a summer record.”

While presenting the Kids Choice award for Favorite Movie Actress to Miley Cyrus, the podium blasted Perry with green slime. Tina Fey and Steve Carrell were also slimed, while winning the “slimetime achievement award.” Among the music awards, Black Eyed Peas were named Favorite Music Group, Jay-Z won for Male Singer and Taylor Swift was named Favorite Female Singer. Swift’s “You Belong With Me” was named Favorite Song. Justin Bieber and Rihanna both performed as well.

She also had her eye out for one man at the show: Justin Bieber. “Also heard Justin Biebers gonna b here 2night,” she Tweeted. “Can’t wait to tap that.” Later, Perry took to Twitter where she posted evidence that she had smooched the young singer. “Told you I would tap that,” she wrote. “Yummy.”

The ‘Poker Face’ singer took home trophies for International Album,
International Breakthrough Act and International Female Solo Artist.
Show host Peter Kay quipped: “She’s won every international awards
apart from International Male!”
Accepting her first award, Gaga said: “Thank you so much, I love my
fans, thank you so much for everything,” before reeling off a list of
people who she wanted to thank.
By the time she accepted her third award, for Best International
Album, she was in tears.
She said: “I was really excited about winning the first two awards,
but this one means more because I worked so hard on this album for so
long, and when I think about all that I went through and all the years
of struggling and my fans – they were the first ones to recognise my
abilities.”
Gaga also performed a song at the event – which she dedicated to
recently deceased fashion designer Alexander McQueen.
British boyband JLS were the surprise winners of two awards, taking
home British Single for their debut ‘Beat Again’ and British
Breakthrough Act. In a triumph for hip hop, ‘Bonkers’ rapper Dizzee
Rascal was named the British Male Solo Artist.
Accepting his award, he thanked his record label, saying: “Whoa, it’s
about time! Big up to all the Dirtee Stank family, Big up to all the
fans!”
Elsewhere, Florence and the Machine picked up the accolade for British
Album, while Lily Allen was named British Female Solo Artist.
Accepting her award in a bright ginger wig, she said: “I wore an
orange wig so it would make it harder for the cameramen to find me and
see the look of disappointment on my face. But that backfired.”
When urged to hurry her speech she replied: “No f**k off, I’m not
leaving, f**k off,” before thanking her family.

Liam Gallagher outraged the BRIT Awards tonight (16.02.10), throwing
his trophy in the crowd and snubbing his brother.
The former Oasis singer appeared to collect the award for BRITS Album
of 30 Years, a publicly voted accolade for the best album since the
event started.
Liam appeared onstage briefly to collect the trophy, and thanked the
band’s line up – apart from his brother Noel, the band’s main
songwriter and second vocalist.
Referring to one of the group’s hits, Liam said: “I’d like to thank
Bonehead, Guigsy, Alan White…. the best bands in the f**king world
live forever.”
He then threw his microphone and the award into the audience and
walked offstage.
Oasis split last year after a fallout between the volatile Gallagher
brothers, and while Noel is recording a new solo album, Liam has
formed a new band with the rest of the group’s members.
Backstage at the event, he said: “I don’t know if we deserved it
because there has been loads of great albums over the last 30 years.
“But if they’re gonna give it to us then I’ll play the game and turn
up and get it.
“Now can we go and take loads of Class A drugs?”
The missing microphone caused panic among the award organisers, and
while the show was at an advert break, one of the stage team pleaded
for its safe return.
He announced: “We need this mic back. Please, if you have the mic will
you return it, as one of our artists will not be able to perform
without it.”
The microphone thrown by Liam was given back and the show went on.
Other performances at the event included rock band Kasabian, who
performed their single ‘Fire’ on a stage which was partially engulfed
in flames. They later won the award for British Group.
Cheryl Cole – who is currently undergoing troubles in her marriage to
footballer Ashley Cole, after he was caught sending lewd messages to
other women – also performed her single ‘Fight For This Love’ singing
through what appeared to be gritted teeth as she did a dance routine
reminiscent of Michael Jackson.

The ‘Umbrella’ singer has pledged to offer the Girls Aloud star – who recently launched her solo career – a spot supporting her on her American tour next year.

Rihanna – who, like Cheryl has worked with Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am on her latest album ‘Rated R’ – said: “Cheryl is cute and incredible. I think I could help break her in the US. She’d wow them – I’d love to have her on tour, in Europe or America.”

‘Fight For This Love’ singer Cheryl has crossed paths with Cheryl several times in recent weeks.

Rihanna performed on UK TV talent show ‘The X Factor’, on which Cheryl is a judge, and also appeared as guest performer on a forthcoming show dedicated to the singer entitled ‘Cheryl Cole’s Night In’.

Rihanna, 21, also revealed she would love to play next year’s Glastonbury Festival, following in the footsteps of her mentor Jay-Z who performed at the world famous music event in the summer of 2008.

She said: “My tour is going to be a huge production. I would love to play Glastonbury. Even if it’s not headlining, but my tour stars in the spring so it may clash.”

Rihanna’s ‘Rated R’ European tour will start in Belgium next April and visit the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland before she performs nine dates in the UK.

The rapper and wife Beyonce Knowles flew their closest friends – including Oprah Winfrey, Kanye West, Alicia Keys, Mary J Blige, Kate Hudson and Ne-Yo – out to the Dominican Republic, paying for their private jet travel and luxury suites themselves.

The bash, held last Friday (04.12.09), had a ‘Scarface’ theme, with the venue decked out like the home of Tony Montana, and partygoers were treated to Dom Perignon champagne and caviar.

The hosting couple’s parents were the guests of honour at the party, which was held in a villa at the resort of Casa de Campo.

However, the rapper – real name Shawn Carter – made sure he continued to be the centre of attention, performing his hit ‘Empire State of Mind’ with Alicia Keys and P. Diddy.

Following a touching video display of messages from his friends, Jay-z saw the evening come to a climax with a big fireworks display at midnight, with synchronized swimmers dancing alongside in the villa’s pool.

The following day, guests were treated to a brunch barbecue – with Beyonce showing off her culinary skills behind the grill, before a group of revellers took to the seas on a private yacht.

The 40-year-old music mogul told fellow rapper Jay-Z he thought the former Eurovision singer looked “mean” and “amazing” in the girl group’s latest video ‘About A Girl’ – in which she appears in a pair of skin-tight leather hotpants.

A source said: “He thinks Jade is amazing and loves her voice. He’s hoping to be in London in March and will be looking her up.”

However, Diddy may find it difficult to get Jade’s attention – she has previously claimed the Sugababes’ busy schedule stops her from meeting men.

The singer – who joined the pop trio in September after founding member Keisha Buchanan left – recently said: “I still haven’t got a boyfriend. You know what is mad? You actually do not have the time.”

Jade rose to success through BBC talent show ‘Making Your Mind Up’, which led her to represent the UK at the Eurovision Song content. She came fifth with the song ‘It’s My Time’.

The music mogul – who personally signed the pop beauty to his label Def Jam Records and runs his own clothing line Rocawear – admits he made a mistake by not cashing in on her 2007 single when it was riding high.

He said: “We really should have had some Rihanna Rocawear umbrellas when that song became a hit. We could have made a load of money on those. I’m still kicking myself.”

Jay-Z – who is married to Beyonce Knowles – believes the signature umbrellas would have helped him on his way to fulfil his dream of making Rocawear a $1 billion company.

He added to Women’s Wear Daily magazine: “The goal is to make Rocawear a $1 billion company. It may take us more time than we would like since the economy is in the shape that it’s in, but I’m confident that we will get there.

“People want a quality product, which is what I want Rocawear to be known for – we make a damn good pair of jeans, that’s why people buy them.” At the height of the song’s success, fans started taking umbrellas with them to Rihanna’s concerts so they could copy her dance routine.

However, the rain protecting items were eventually banned from shows to stop audience members from injuring themselves.

The ‘Empire State of Mind’ rapper has been signed up to star at the 2010 ceremony where he will perform a medley of his biggest hits and a duet with a surprise artist – believed to be his wife Beyonce Knowles, Alicia Keys or Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

A source told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “Jay-Z is confirmed as one of the key performers. In weak years there have been problems securing the big international artists. But knowing Jay-Z was there will help to secure other big acts.”

It has already been revealed ‘Bodies’ star Robbie Williams will close the awards show after being receiving Outstanding Contribution To Music prize, for his work with Take That and as a solo star.

Robbie has already won more BRITs than any other artist and will be presented his 16th honour at the event which takes place at London’s Earls Court Exhibition Centre on February 16 2010.

British comedian Peter Kay has also been signed up to host the ceremony.

The hip-hop star celebrated the landmark day with Jay-Z, Bono, Nelly and Denzel Washington at the Garden of Eden-themed bash held at New York’s Plaza Hotel last Thursday (19.11.09).

P. Diddy – real name Sean Combs – had invited 500 people to celebrate with him and treated them to gallons of champagne and Ciroc vodka – which is his own brand of the spirit – and a silver confetti drop.

There was also a private performance from the American gospel singer Al Green.

P. Diddy – who is one of the richest hip-hop stars with an estimated net worth of $346 million – decorated the venue with a $30,000 orchid display, a black dance floor and a black chandelier.

A source said: “He really pushed the boat out for this one – and then some. It was an amazing party and Diddy was on great form.”
