‘Harry Potter’ triumphed at the Teen Choice Awards last night (07.08.11), winning six prizes

The final movie in the series, ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2′ won the Choice Summer Movie accolade, while Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the titular character, picked up the Choice Summer Movie Star Male gong and his co-star Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger, won the female equivalent at the ceremony at the Gibson Amphitheatre, Los Angeles.

Taylor Swift was the biggest single winner on the night, taking home six prizes including Choice Music Female Artist, Country Music Female Country Artist, Choice Red Carpet Fashion Icon Female and Choice Music Country Single for her hit ‘Mean’.

Accepting her Ultimate Teen Choice surfboard onstage, the 21-year-old singer joked: “It’s been a long time since I was a teenager, like two years.”

Selena Gomez nabbed five surfboard statuettes, including Choice TV Actress Comedy for her role as Alex Russo in the ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ and Choice Music Love Song for ‘Love You Like a Love Song’ – beating her boyfriend Justin Bieber who achieved four wins.

The 17-year-old singer appeared on stage alongside his friend Sean Kingston, who was making his first live televised appearance since recovering from a jet-ski accident that left him needing two bouts of heart surgery and incapacitated with a broken jaw and shattered wrists.

Other multiple award winners included ‘Glee’, ‘The Vampire Diaries’ and ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’, which picked up a hat-trick of gongs including Choice Movie Actor Sci-Fi/Fantasy for Taylor Lautner’s portrayal of Jacob Black.

Emma Watson’s first crush was on her ‘Harry Potter’ co-star

The actress – who started as character Hermione Granger in the film franchise ten years ago, when she was aged 11 – admitted to fancying her co-star Tom Felton, who played her on-screen nemesis, Draco Malfoy.

Emma told Seventeen magazine: “For the first two movies, I had a huge crush on Tom Felton. He was my first crush.” The star – now 21 – said it didn’t make things awkward on set, and she is able to laugh about it with Tom, who is now 23. She added: “He totally knows. We talked about it – we still laugh about it. We are really good friends now, and that’s cool.”

Emma – who has recently been romantically linked to her ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ co-star Johnny Simmon, and has previously dated One Night Only singer George Craig – admitted she is not very good at playing hard to get with boys she likes. She added: “I’m a terrible game player. I’m so impatient – it’s one of my worst traits!”

“I’ll pretty much say to a guy, ‘I like you – let’s go hang out.’ But my friends are like, ‘You can’t do that! You have to string this guy along.’
“And I’m just like, ‘No! I won’t! I just want to go on the date!’ – I definitely haven’t figured it out yet.”

Emma Watson cut her hair cut short to mark entering a “new phase” in her life

The ‘Harry Potter’ star – who plays Hermione Granger in the series, which completed shooting on its final film earlier this year– has recently had a drastic new short crop and admitted it was a symbolic gesture, to mark her leaving her character behind.

She told the Daily Mail newspaper: “I’m 20 now, so I’m not a child any more. I’ve been on Harry Potter for ten years now, so I felt the need to mark the end of it in some way – I needed some way to say to myself, ‘Right, you’re entering a new phase of your life now’. I needed a change, and that’s what the haircut is about.”

Emma, who played Hermione from the age of nine, added her father was initially worried about her new look, but that her pixie-like hairdo has since grown on him.

She said: “When I first told him that I was thinking about doing it, he said, ‘Don’t get carried away. You’re not Audrey Hepburn yet.’ But he loves it now, and so he’s eating his words.”

Emma, who is also the face of fashion chain Burberry and attends Brown University in the US, admitted she finds it difficult to juggle her life as an A-list actress and a hardworking student, but she puts in as much effort to both as she can.

The actress added: “I’m not going to lie. I have to just work really hard when I’m at university and earn my professor’s respect and trust that I’m hardworking, take it seriously and that I will come up with the goods somehow.

“You have to be really organised with your time. I tell professors in advance that I have to leave for this period of time, and I hope they’ll understand.”

Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint used to hide from their bodyguards

The trio – who played Hermione Granger, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise for almost ten years – hated having to be followed wherever they went and so would to try and make an escape as often as possible.

Emma said: “I hate having bodyguards and when we were younger, Dan, Rupert and I used to try to hide from the people trying to keep an eye on us.”

Now the stunning actress – who is juggling her acting and modelling careers with studying at Brown University in America – has learned to accept attention from fans and prefers to go out without any bodyguards as she is often able to go out without being disturbed.

She added: “Now it’s like ‘Really, I’m fine.’ I take the train and the bus and, if I don’t dress up too much, I’m usually fine. Occasionally people stop me but I’d rather deal with that than not go out at all. That’d be really tragic.”

Daniel Radcliffe doesn’t mind if people always think of him as Harry Potter

The 21-year-old actor has played the young wizard for almost 10 years across eight movies and said he knows some people will never be able to separate him from the magical character.

Daniel said: “I’m sure some people will see me forever as Harry Potter and I’m fine with that.”

Although Daniel knows he will always be regarded as Harry Potter, he is hoping to change people’s perceptions of him by choosing some diverse roles, such as the big screen adaptation of ‘The Woman in Black’ which he is currently filming.

Daniel said: “There will be others that are willing to see me in different roles. And hopefully, if I keep choosing diverse and challenging stuff, people will let that image go.”

Despite his 10 years in the movie business, Daniel insisted he doesn’t think he is a great actor and said he knows he still has a lot of work to do.

He said: “Certainly nobody in the cast thinks they are ‘there’ yet in terms of acting. We all know we’ve got a lot to learn and a long way to go.”

Emma Watson gets excited by lie-ins at university

The ‘Harry Potter’ actress – who is currently studying at Brown University in New England – admitted she found the first few months of academia “liberating” in comparison to the gruelling schedules she had to adhere to while filming the wizard franchise.

She said: “It was so liberating. I’d be smiling to myself and friends would say, ‘Emma, what’s wrong?’ and I’d say, ‘I’m just happy’. I take pleasure in the smallest thinks. Like, I’m going to wake up at 10 o’clock if I want to. Or, I’m going to eat a sandwich now.

“I have such a structure when I’m working on ‘Potter’. I get told what time I get picked up. I get told what time I can eat, when I have time to go to the bathroom. Every single second of my day is not in my power.”

The 20-year-old star also revealed there were times when filming arduous outdoor scenes for the latest movie in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise was a “horrible” experience.

Emma added to Entertainment Weekly magazine: “I hate to sound whiny, but it’s horrible. This has definitely been the most intense, gruelling period of film-making I have ever done.”

Rupert Grint is looking forward to finding love

The 22-year-old actor – who has played schoolboy wizard Ron Weasley in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise since 2001 – admitted being a star from such a young age has hindered his progress on the relationship front, as being so busy made it “difficult” to find romance.

He explained: “It was quite difficult to sustain a relationship, because I was so busy. I went out with people, but never anything too serious. It wasn’t that easy.

“Now it’s something I’m really looking forward to.”

The British star also revealed kissing co-star Emma Watson – who played Hermione Granger – in the final film was “a bit strange”.

He added to The Times magazine: “It was quite a tricky kiss, a bit strange, but quite sweet really.

“It was just one shot, but we had about six takes. It was all right, yeah. Easy after the first take.”

Rupert recently admitted he had found it hard to adjust to life post ‘Harry Potter’, despite the hit movie franchise having taken over his life for many years.

He said: “I haven’t quite adjusted to life without ‘Harry Potter’. I’m really sad actually, I’ve missed it. But I think it’s a good time really to kind of move on. It has been a long time. The 21-year-old actor – who shot to fame playing the lead role in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise when he was just 11 years old – is delighted filming has finished on the movies as he can now do what he wants, and though he and co-stars Emma Watson,20, and Rupert Grint,22, discussed matching inkings, they felt they don’t need any more reminders about the wizarding series.

Referring to the lighting bolt permanently scarring his character’s forehead, he said: “I don’t know what our tattoo would be, I assume it be a scar.

“I definitely do want to get some tattoos, but I don’t know if the first thing I would rush out to get would be something ‘Harry Potter’ related, because let’s face it, I’m going to have this for the rest of my life anyway as it is, I don’t need a tattoo that says the same.

“I want something I can grow into over the years.”

Daniel recently finished working on the last of the films in the franchise, the two part ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ and revealed there were two particular pieces of memorabilia he wanted to keep.

He told US TV show ‘Access Hollywood’: “The glasses would be a good thing to have, and obviously the wand.”

Daniel recently admitted he was an emotional wreck when he was saying his goodbyes to his cast mates and the crew.

The actor – who has played the boy wizard in every film in the series since he was just 11 – finished shooting the final scenes for ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II’ in June and was an emotional wreck when he was saying his goodbyes to his cast mates and the crew.

He said: “We were all in bits. I’ve never seen Rupert Grint cry in my life but it was really emotional. When I saw him cry, it made me cry more. It’s come to stand for my childhood, which I’ve said goodbye to. That innocent small boy has gone.”

Although he and his two main co-stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson have grown up together, Daniel doesn’t believe the trio have changed that much as people.

The 21-year-old star added to Britain’s OK! magazine: “Rupert has obviously got a much bigger car collection than when we started! Obviously, Rupert and myself have both changed through the series, because at the beginning, Rupert was really, really chatty, you couldn’t shut him up. He’s got quieter as the series has gone on, and while he’s got quieter I’ve got louder!

“Physically, me and Rupert look totally different, whereas Emma, I think, kind of almost looks exactly the same as when she started, in terms of her face. Other than that it’s kind of hard to say how we’ve changed, other than just the fact we’ve grown up.”

The ‘Twilight Saga’ hunk loves shopping in thrift stores but admits his fame makes it difficult to make many trips to expand his wardrobe.

He said: “I like kind of s***ty clothes most of the time. I like second hand. That’s another thing. I can’t really go into second hand stores to get new clothes any more so I end up wearing the same thing every day.

“I wish I could shop in vintage stores the whole time. But because a lot of paparazzi follow me around, it can be difficult.”

Though he prefers second hand clothing, the 24-year-old actor – who is dating his ‘Twilight Saga’ co-star Kristen Stewart – turns to designer Marc Jacobs when he is in need of red carpet wear.

He added: “At almost every single premiere I wear Marc Jacobs. It seems to be the only stuff that fits me.”
It has previously been claimed that the British star rarely showers and has upset cast and crew on the ‘Twilight Saga’ with his pungent body odour.

Robert Pattinson has spent $1,000 on a bike

The British actor has splashed out on a 2010 Felt Breed Cyclo-X off-road cycle and has been spotted riding around Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he is currently filing ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’.

One onlooker said: “He was by himself on his bike for a good portion of yesterday.

“He looked to be having a good time and he was even trying to do tricks with it. He was riding pretty fast at some points too.”

According to the manager of Capitol Cyclery, the 24-year-old star told staff he “didn’t want a mountain bike” and “wanted something simple”.

Robert impressed workers with his down-to-earth attitude.

The store’s manager told HollywoodLife.com: “He didn’t strike me as a movie star when he walked in the door.”

As well as buying a new bike, it was recently claimed the ‘Remember Me’ star is planning to spend £30,000 on a Halloween party.

A source said: “Rob’s organising a huge soiree to celebrate Halloween, he thinks it is going to be hilarious for the cast and crew to dress up in scary costumes.

“The crew are huge fans of Rob and are really looking forward to it. Rob knows how much they all love Halloween so has really gone to town.

Robert Pattinson takes six months to write a song

The ‘Twilight Saga’ actor – who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the film series – was an aspiring musician before he found success as an actor, but admits he has a slow work rate.

He said: “I write a song every six months. I never write a diary. I think that’s why it takes me so long. You have to summarise your personality changing.”

The actor, who plays piano and guitar as well as singing, has previously had two tracks he has performed, ‘Never Think’ and ‘Let Me Sign’ – both of which were written by other people – included on the first ‘Twilight’ soundtrack.

They were reportedly included by the film’s director Catherine Hardwicke, initially without the British hunk’s knowledge.

Robert has previously said he sees music as his “back-up plan” if being a film star fails, and that he believes he will be famous when he’s dead.

He said: “I am sure I’ll be one of those artists that people don’t pay any attention to while I’m alive, and when I am dead people will go yeah, man, that was a work of art.”

The British actor has decided to treat the cast and crew of the latest instalment in the vampire series ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’ to a ghoulish bash during a break from filming this weekend, and has even paid for costume designers to create special spooky outfits for them all to wear.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: “Rob’s organising a huge soiree to celebrate Halloween, he thinks it is going to be hilarious for them all to dress up in scary costumes.

“The crew are huge fans of Rob and are really looking forward to it. Rob knows how much they all love Halloween so has really gone to town.

“He’s asked a couple of costume designers he knows to make special ghoul costumes for his guests.”

It is thought the 24-year-old heartthrob will be dressing as famous blood-sucker Dracula for the Los Angeles bash.

Robert is also believed to have splashed out on a Halloween-inspired gift for his girlfriend Kristen Stewart to celebrate the spooky day – which lands on Sunday October 31.

The source explained: “Rob brought a special vintage gold ring with a red heart for Kristen. He’s planning to give it to her just before the bash starts.”

The generous screen hunk is determined for his guests to have fun before they return to the set on Monday (01.11.10), and has ordered in “cauldrons” full of alcohol and soup to help kick the party off in style.

The source added: “Rob has also drafted in caterers to cook massive cauldrons full of soup and ale.

“The cast start shooting again on Monday so are free to spend the weekend having fun and getting into the spirit of things.

The ‘Twilight Saga’ dominated the Teen Choice Awards in August picking up an incredible haul of 11 prizes. Robert and Kristen won the Choice Summer Movie Star: Male and Choice Summer Movie Star: Female accolades respectively.

In 2009, he was also named the “Sexiest Man Alive” by Glamour. Ask Men named Rob as one of the top 49 most influential men of 2009. Pattinson was named one of the “Sexiest Men Alive” in 2008 and 2009 by People magazine. In 2009, Vanity Fair named Pattinson “the most handsome man in the world”.

The 20-year-old actress visited several lap dancing bars in New Orleans to research her role in new movie ‘Welcome to the Rileys’ and was astonished by the amount of sexy work she could have accepted.

She said: “Well, I mean, like, doing this movie … one shocking thing was to find how easy it is to flaunt your sexuality.

“Like, I went to a strip club with the director and the costume designer and it being an odd grouping of people going into a strip club in the middle of the afternoon, I was straight-up offered a job.”

Kristen – who plays a teenage runaway who becomes a stripper in the film – was also surprised by the amount of male attention she received when walking through the city in her skimpy costumes.

The screen beauty – who is in a relationship with her ‘Twilight Saga’ co-star Robert Pattinson – explained to MTV News: “Walking around New Orleans wearing the kind of stuff I was wearing literally could be like boom, boom, boom, done. But I would never do that.”

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are reportedly planning a voodoo ‘wedding’

The couple – who have refused to confirm they are dating since meeting on the set of the ‘Twilight Saga’ – allegedly want to show their commitment to each other at the unusual ceremony in December.

A source said: “Kristen is quite dark so she wants a ceremony performed by a New Orleans voodoo priestess.

“They’ve both had the crazy highs and lows you get when you’re intensely in love and thousands of miles apart, plus they’ve been coping with the immense pressure of conducting a relationship in the public eye.

“But they’ve now agreed they are serious and want to make a love pledge to show it.”

Kristen, 21, and 24-year-old Robert are keen to keep the details of the service secret and will not wear wedding rings after the service, instead opting to get each other special love tokens and matching tattoos.

The source explained to LOOK magazine: “Instead, Kristen and Robert want to buy each other tokens of devotion.

“They want to keep speculation to a minimum, so won’t get rings, but each is going to choose a present that reminds them of just how much they love each other.

“And they’re going to both get matching tattoos on their hips. They want tiny anchors to symbolise that they ground each other and keep each other calm when things get stormy.”

Daniel Radcliffe is “not sure” he can stop himself sleeping with dancers when he performs on Broadway

The 21-year-old actor – who is to appear in New York-based musical ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’ from March 2011 – doesn’t want to get romantically involved with anyone in the foreseeable future, but admits he is unlikely to stick to his plan.

He told Dazed and Confused magazine: “I’ve been in relationships from the age of 14 and now I’m single.

“I said to a friend the other day, ‘Dude, I’m doing a show with dancers. I’ve got to be single.’

“He was like, ‘Don’t sleep with anyone in your show. That’s a mistake.’ It’s good advice. But I’m not sure I’ll stick to it.”

Daniel – who previously dated actress Laura O’Toole – recently revealed he struggles to find dates with women he hasn’t worked with.

He said: “I was in a relationship for about three years. At the moment, I’m just being single and running around chasing girls. I’m not getting too many responses, but, yes, I’m having a go.

“I’m also starting to go on dates for the first time. I’ve never really done it because all my girlfriends I’ve met through work. So we got to know each other really well at work then kind of ended up going out.”

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart went unrecognised at a recent gig

The ‘Twilight’ stars – who have long been rumoured to be a real life couple – attended a concert by the band Jenny and Johnny at Troubadour in Los Angeles earlier this week, and managed to enjoy a night of almost complete anonymity despite their global fame.

A source said: “It’s very easy for people to blend in which they did amazingly well.

“Almost nobody recognised the two while they were there. The staff was aware, as they get famous people watching shows there all the time and are willing to accommodate their needs if needed.”

Despite managing to go unseen by the majority of concert-goers, some did notice they were behaving as if they were a couple and spent the night “extremely close” to each other.

The onlooker added: “They were close to each other with Kristen in front of Rob almost all night. They never hid the fact they were obviously a couple, they were extremely close the entire time they both were there.

“It looked like they were both enjoying the music but it was Kristen who enjoyed it the most as she was seen singing the songs and there were times she sang songs to Rob, while Rob just smiled and laughed that Kristen was loving it.”

It is the second time this week the couple have ventured out and made it clear they were romantically involved – last Saturday (02.10.10) the pair enjoyed a meal out at top Hollywood restaurant Soho House.

A source said: “They were staring at each other throughout dinner and kept stealing quick kisses from one another during the night. Rob’s arm was around her for most of dinner and they kept looking at each other and giggling throughout the evening. They are definitely into each other.”

He recently panicked fellow pop star Akon by pretending to be his illegitimate son in a phone call.

The ‘Twilight Saga’ co-stars – who are believed to have been dating since meeting on the set of first movie in the vampire franchise in 2008 – surprised diners with their affectionate display at Soho House restaurant.

An onlooker said: “They were staring at each other throughout dinner and kept stealing quick kisses from one another during the night. Rob’s arm was around her for most of dinner and they kept looking at each other and giggling throughout the evening. They are definitely into each other.”

The source added that despite being joined by a large group of friends, the pair didn’t leave each other’s sides all night, while a smitten Robert – who plays vampire Edward Cullen opposite Kristen’s Bella Swan – only had eyes for his girlfriend.

The onlooker added to E! News: “They were by each other’s sides the entire night. After dinner, Rob, Kristen and their friends moved to the patio where the group was smoking and the guys were drinking. Everyone was laughing and having a good time together, but you could tell Rob was doting on Kristen and making sure she was comfortable. They were next to each other everywhere the group went.”

The pair will begin filming ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’ – the final part of the vampire series – in November.
