Beyonce Knowles is taking pregnancy advice from Gwyneth Paltrow

The 30-year-old singer is expecting her first baby with husband Jay-Z and Gwyneth – who has children Apple, seven, and five-year-old Moses with husband Chris Martin – has been giving her suggestions on the right food supplements to take and products to use to ensure a healthy pregnancy.

A source told Closer magazine: “Gwyneth has known about this pregnancy for over a month and has been telling Beyonce to drink a shot of wheatgrass each morning and to rub her belly with coconut oil to prevent stretch marks.

“She’s also advised her to meditate for an hour every day and soak her feet in ice water to prevent swelling.”

However, while Beyonce was thrilled with the parcel of energy crystals Gwyneth sent her to promote peace, love, and good health, she is said to not be impressed by some of the other tips she has received from the actress.

The insider added: “Beyonce knows Gwyneth is just trying to show how much she cares, but her advice can be a little overwhelming.

“She’s sending packages of herbs and vitamins – but Beyonce wants to do things her own way, what suits her best and not be told what to eat.”

Gwyneth Paltrow admits she is “a little bit borderline” obsessive about germs

The 38-year-old actress stars in new epidemic thriller ‘Contagion’ as a woman who contracts a deadly disease, and she admits the storyline had a worsening effect on her fear of nasty microbes.

When asked if starring in the film gave her Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) on UK TV show ‘Lorraine’, Gwyneth replied: “There was actually a New York Observer article – they sent a microbiologist out in New York City to swab surfaces, like a clean glass in a five star restaurant, the subway, handles, and it was so disturbing what they found, and since that article I’ve been a hand washer.

“So this movie didn’t make me any worse, but it was already a little bit borderline.”

The health conscious star – who runs the website Goop about healthy and ethical eating – has previously revealed she uses a handset which she plugs into her cell phone in order to minimise “radiation”.

Gwyneth – who raises two children, Apple, seven, and five-year-old Moses, with her husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin – said: “A handset cuts down on cell phone radiation. I use the YUBZ Retro Handset for my BlackBerry calls.”

Gwyneth Paltrow is willing to “bang” someone for a copy of the new Coldplay album

The ‘Country Strong’ actress – who is married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, with who she has children Apple, seven and Moses, five – is having trouble getting hold of the new LP, which is due to be released in the autumn, despite her close relationship with the band.

She wrote on twitter: “Who do I have to bang to get an advance copy of the new coldplayalbum? I mean, really.(sic)”

Despite her music-based issues Gwyneth – who lives in London with Chris, who she married after knowing him for a year in 2003 – has previously admitted she loves her family life and likes to take her children to school regularly even though she is an Oscar-winning star.

She said: “I enjoy being a mother and staying at home and looking after my kids.

“I like being able to take the children to school and to make their food and spend a lot of time with them. It’s a much more fulfilling kind of life for me. It’s a lot easier now.

“I’m happiest when I’m sitting down for dinner with my family.”

Gwyneth Paltrow would rather “smoke crack” than eat unhealthy food

The 38-year-old actress is well known for her unusual dietary habits, previously being on the extremely strict macrobiotic eating plan, and speaking at the Roundhouse Studios for the iTunes Festival on Tuesday (05.07.11), she revealed she was not a fan of tinned snacks.

She said: “I’d rather smoke crack than eat cheese from a can.”

The ‘Iron Man’ star – who recently unveiled her first cook book ‘My Father’s Daughter…’ – also revealed she wouldn’t take her kids to fast food restaurant McDonalds, but may find it difficult if they knew about the toys that come with some meals.

Gwyneth – who has two children, daughter Apple, seven, and son Moses, five, with her husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin – added: “I take them to Pizza Express because I think that’s much healthier. Don’t tell them there are toys!”

However, not all of her habits are so positive, and she admits drinking wine is a favourite past time of hers.

She added: “I drink wine constantly while I’m cooking. Wine, either colour.”

Despite not being a fan of calorific treats from a can, Gwyneth has previously revealed she loves “well-made” cheese, and prefers it to chocolate.

She said: “OK, it may not be the healthiest of indulgences, but cheese, really beautiful, well-made cheese, has to be one of the best things on the planet. Give me a slice of Camembert over chocolate cake any day.”

Gwyneth Paltrow has branded her grandmother a “real ****”

The 38-year-old actress criticised Katharine Danner, the German-born mother of her mum Blythe Danner, claiming she tried to spark a family feud with her “mean” ways.

Discussing grandmothers with TV talk show host Chelsea Handler, Gwyneth said: “Mine was a real ****.

“She just hated my guts, basically, and she tried to poison my mother against me. She must not have been very happy and she must have had a lot of pain because she was as mean as hell.”

Gwyneth also explained she took on her strict macrobiotic diet in order to encourage her father Bruce Paltrow, who died of cancer in 2002, to be more careful with his eating habits.

The ‘Country Strong’ star – who has daughter Apple, six, and son Moses, five, with her husband Chris Martin – said: “The reason why I started eating healthy was because I was trying to get my dad to eat healthy when he was diagnosed with cancer.

“He was disgusted by all my health food, he was like, ‘This is disgusting, this is like biting into cardboard, I hate this food.’ I was trying to get him to cure his cancer by eating and I got into eating healthy too.”

However, the actress abandoned the strict eating regime – which is mainly comprised of vegetables and fish and doesn’t allow the consumption of any dairy or processed foods – when she got pregnant and allowed herself to eat whatever she wanted.

She added: “When I got pregnant with Apple, I could not eat any healthy food. It was like Baskin Robbins (ice cream) and French fries and I never looked back.”

The 38-year-old actress – who dated the hunk for three years in the 90s and was engaged to him for six months – revealed that cooking for her loved ones instantly makes her feel more relaxed and it was Brad’s mother Jane who gave her the advice, which is the “best tip anyone’s given her”.

She explained: “My life can be surreal sometimes. I think, ‘What’s going on?’ It is so crazy. I’ve been doing way too much. But last week I was at home with my children in the kitchen, and I threw a tea towel over my shoulder – as soon as I do that I feel grounded.

She said: “One of my most negative qualities is the perfectionism that I have, and I think that I unconsciously project that because it comes from self-doubt and insecurity and that’s the ironic part.

“I’m so deeply flawed. I’m just a normal mother with the same struggles as any other mother who’s trying to do everything at once and trying to be a wife and maintain a relationship.

“There’s absolutely nothing perfect about my life, but I just try hard.”

The blonde beauty was once famous for her strict food regime, following a macrobiotic diet – focusing on grains and local vegetables while avoiding processed items – but she has now relaxed and admits her old eating habits now seem “alien” to her.

She added: “I haven’t been macrobiotic in seven years, so it seems sort of foreign at this point. Although, a lot of the principles, like trying to eat whole foods and homemade foods and local foods and seasonal foods, that’s still very much a part of the way I think about food.”

Gwyneth is releasing her own cookbook, entitled ‘My Father’s Daughter’, which is inspired by the meals she enjoyed with her late father Bruce Paltrow and she promises the recipes are ideal for family life.

She said in an interview with the USA Today newspaper: “It’s American family food; it’s very accessible and easy to make. It’s mostly on the healthier side, although there are definitely some guilty pleasures in there.”

“I would humbly say that if there’s ever an opportunity they see that I could work well on that show, I would be honoured. Plus I think that cast is really talented – it would be fun.”

Blythe added: “We could have paid for everything and had a spoiled kid. [But] I think it’s really important for people to work hard.”

Despite her seemingly perfect life, Gwyneth – whose acting career is going from strength to strength – admits she has gone through some difficult times, especially when she suffered from post-partum depression after the birth of her son Moses.

She explained: “You don’t want anybody to know that you’re depressed or crying all the time. There’s this shame that we bring to it and it’s incredibly debilitating and scary and you just don’t feel like yourself.”

Gwyneth Paltrow’s children have American accents.

The American actress – who has two children, daughter Apple, five and son Moses, four, with her British musician husband Chris Martin – has revealed the kids’ mixed upbringing in London and New York have led them to develop unusual voices.

She said: “Apple speaks with an English accent in England and an American accent in America. And my son has a weird hybrid of a Brooklyn and British accent. I don’t know what he speaks, but it’s cute.”

The 37-year-old star couldn’t say whether she prefers the UK or US because she loves both countries. She said: “It’s not about preference. I love both and I’m fortunate I’m able to go back and forth between England, which has great things, and New York, which also has its great things, and then go to Los Angeles for work and whatever.”

Gwyneth admits she loves California too as she gets to see her friends who live there, including her ‘Iron Man 2’ co-star  Robert Downey Jr.  She said: “I really enjoyed being back there. My children were so happy and we had a really nice time as a family. And I really love Robert. Him and his wife are two of my best friends.”

Gwyneth Paltrow thinks wearing shorts as a 37-year-old mother-of-two is “ridiculous”.

The actress – who has children Apple, five and Moses, four, with Coldplay singer Chris Martin – admits she has to work hard to maintain her trim physique, but her friend Tracy Anderson’s dance workout helps her get into shape.

She said: “This 26-minute long video was an amazing start for getting the butt and legs I had always hoped for.

“This regime got me into the shape of my life and I continue to return to it when I have a specific event so that I can do ridiculous things like be a 37-year-old mother-of-two and wear shorts!”

Writing in her GOOP newsletter, Gwyneth also claims she has to diet in short spurts to get good results.

“To really get in line, I follow her strict diet for five days to lose my extra winter weight. Now, I am not a good dieter and I cannot every do it for long – only when there is a goal in sight, which there was in this case.”

Previously the ‘Iron Man 2‘ star has revealed her distaste at the idea of dieting, and claims she puts on weight as soon as she thinks about cutting down on food.

She said: “I had to work hard to get it like this, but now I’m here it’s so great because I don’t have to think about it. I can just enjoy life. What a relief is that.

“I can eat what I want, as long as I exercise, which is just as well, because if I put the word ‘diet’ into my brain, I immediately gain a stone.”

Gwyneth Paltrow called Robert Downey Jr. a bad kisser.

The actress locks lips with the hunk in forthcoming superhero sequel ‘Iron Man 2’ but the actor – who plays the title character and his alter ego Tony Stark – claims he deliberately toned down the passion to stop their smooch being “weird”.

He said: “She said to me that I didn’t know what I was doing, like it didn’t feel good. I’m like, ‘You know what? First of all, we’re all friends, so what would be creepy would be if I was coming off all sexy to you—which by the way, I’ve done in movies and it creeps them out. So what am I going to creep you out for?’ “

However, despite Gwyneth’s criticism, the 45-year-old actor insists his co-star – who reprises her role as Pepper Potts in the sequel – really enjoyed their love scene.

He quipped: “I couldn’t get her off of me. It was embarrassing.

“Despite what she said on set, she still thinks about it.”

Speaking about their romantic moment, 37-year-old Gwyneth revealed both her husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin, and Robert’s wife, the movie’s executive producer Susan Downey, were on set for it.

She said: “It was great because both my husband and his were right there.”

The 25-year-old actress – who plays sexy Russian spy Black Widow in the superhero movie – admitted she actively campaigned for the role after actress Emily Blunt dropped out because of scheduling conflicts.

She said: “I was a huge fan of the first movie and was quite ‘geek-ed’ out at being part of the second one. I just wanted to be a part of ‘Iron Man’ so I really researched the comic books and came in with some ideas of my own about how to develop the character. I see her as being determined and ambitious.”

Scarlett was anxious to get the part because she was keen to “kick *ss” alongside her co-stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Downey Jr.

She said: “I love everything about this character. She’s a total bada*s. I love every detail from her fabulous outfit to the wonderful hair. I mean, there’s nothing not to like about the character. She’s very bad and I think it’s rare that we get to see these sort of super heroines bought to the screen, where they’re really kicking some major a*s, which she does.”
