Gene Simmons Hospitalized Briefly for Dehydration

Gene Simmons was spotted leaving Centinela Hospital in Inglewood, Calif. today after he fainted at LAX yesterday.

Sources close to Simmons tell TMZ he hit his head after fainting and was rushed to the hospital. He suffered a cut on his forehead and, after tests were run, sources tell us the doctors concluded it was just dehydration.

He was released today.

Gene Simmons feels like an “Olympian god”

The Kiss bass player and singer said the feeling he gets onstage is better than that felt by the most powerful people in the world, including religious figures and politicians.

He said: “The most important thing is getting up on stage. It’s electric church, there’s no experience like it. Popes, presidents, prime ministers, even kings – none of them get to feel like I do. Only maybe Olympian gods would.”

The ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll All Nite’ singer also told how the band’s fanbase is very broad and he is constantly surprises by the people who reveal themselves as fans.

He added: “The strangest people grew up on Kiss – Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe.

“We snuck into the Grammys one time, and Luther Vandross was like, ‘Oh my God, it’s Kiss!’ ”

The 60-year-old rocker also explained his life philosophy, which was influenced by his mother, who experienced life as a Jew under the Nazi regime.

He said: “My mother, at 14, was in the concentration camps of Nazi Germany. And saw her whole family incinerated in the ovens. Her philosophy has always been: every day above ground is a good day. Life is a gift, not a birthright. Don’t waste it.”

Dr. Ryan’s Cause of Death — Blunt Force Trauma

Dr. Frank Ryan died of “blunt force head injuries” … this according to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s office … which just completed an autopsy on the famous surgeon.

As for toxicology results … officials tell TMZ the process usually takes “about 8 weeks” before anything can be determined.

As TMZ first reported, Dr. Ryan — the surgeon who operated on a slew of famous Hollywood stars — died yesterday after his Jeep veered off Pacific Coast Highway and rolled down a cliff.

Dr. Frank Ryan — Autopsy Underway

TMZ has learned the Ventura County Medical Examiner is currently conducting an autopsy on Dr. Frank Ryan … to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role in his death.

As we first reported, Dr. Ryan — a famous surgeon to the stars — was pronounced dead yesterday after an apparent car accident on Pacific Coast Highway.

Ryan’s manager David Weintraub tells TMZ, “I’ve known Dr. Ryan for ten years … he’s never drank, never smoked, he’s never done drugs.”

TMZ has obtained a photo showing the area where the Doc was discovered by emergency medical responders yesterday. The photo was taken this morning — and it already appears that the wreckage has been cleared.

Dr. Frank Ryan — Famous Plastic Surgeon Dies

TMZ has learned … Dr. Frank Ryan — a prominent Beverly Hills plastic surgeon to the stars, famous for Heidi Montag’s extreme makeover, was killed in a car crash.

According to law enforcement, Dr. Ryan’s jeep went over the side of Pacific Coast Highway yesterday at 4:33 PM.  The Jeep landed on rocks and lifeguards initially tried to help Ryan, to no avail.

Ryan was trapped in the vehicle and had major head injuries.  The Ventura County Fire Department tried hoisting Ryan using a helicopter, but the attempt was called off. Ryan was pronounced dead at the scene.

Minutes before the crash, Ryan tweeted, “After 25 years of driving by, I finally hiked to the top of the giant sand dune on the pch west of Malibu.  Much harder than it looks!  Whew!”

Among Ryan’s patients – Gene Simmons, Shauna Sand and Vince Neil.

Gene Simmons — KISS the Criminal Charges G’bye

Gene Simmons is no terrorist — at least according to the L.A. County District Attorney, who just decided not to prosecute the rocker over an alleged violent altercation with two people.

The D.A. issued a report — obtained by TMZ — which explains there was not enough evidence to prove Gene choked and then threatened both Nathan Marlowe and his significant other Cynthia Manzo at The Grove shopping center last year.

However, Gene isn’t out of the woods yet — according to the docs, Marlowe has also filed a civil lawsuit against Simmons claiming “the stress of the incident has impaired his ability to work in a tattoo parlor and to have sex with Cynthia Manzo.”

Gene Simmons: I Can’t Grind a Girl in Suit of Armor

KISS frontman Gene Simmons is striking back at an ESPN makeup artist he claims threatened to sue him for an assault he says never took place.

Simmons says on January 29 he received a letter from lawyers for Victoria Jackson, claiming that Simmons “humped” and “grinded” Jackson during a visit to ESPN’s “SportsCenter.”

According to Simmons’ complaint, filed today in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Jackson claims she “suffered from humiliation, shame, embarrassment, anger, anxiety, loss of sleep and depression,” and demanded $185,000 or else.

Simmons has a simple response — he was in costume the entire time — which is like “a suit of armor, particularly around his groin area, making it impossible for Simmons to have done the kind of grinding that Jackson claims to have experienced.”

The legendary US rock band don’t adhere to the commonly used phrase because it glorifies drug use – one of the problems which tore their original line-up apart in 2000.

Bass player Gene Simmons said: “Even the phrase ‘sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll’ what a losers phrase that is! Why isn’t it just sex and rock ‘n’ roll? How did drugs become cool?

“You can’t win a marathon high, you just can’t. Don’t get me started.”

Gene – who claims to have slept with nearly 5,000 women – and singer/guitarist Paul Stanley are the only original members left in the band, who had their heyday in the 70s.

Drummer Peter Criss and guitarist Ace Frehley joined the group for a 1996 reunion but Gene and Paul realised they had still had the problems which originally caused the breakdown of Kiss in the 80s.

Paul said: “There’s magic in people seeing the original line-up, but from there it was really downhill.”

Gene, 60, added to The Sun newspaper: “If you listened to it objectively, it grew old pretty quickly. All of the bull-s**t we had to go through with the drugs and booze and lack of self esteem that Ace and Peter had just sucked the life out of us. It’s been a thorn in my side for a long time.”

The Kiss rocker insists the ‘Believe’ singer, who he previously dated, was happy to know about his huge number of conquests because it proved to her he was honest.

He said in an interview with German newspaper Bild am Sonntag: “She was shocked, but also happy because she knew that I would never lie to her.

“And that’s how it is. Liars are only men who swear eternal fidelity but they know that no man will ever be able to adhere to that.”

The bass guitarist admits many people don’t believe he has bedded so many ladies, but he can prove it because he takes a photograph of every one of his conquests.

He said: “Esquire magazine has just tried to prove empirically that this was physically impossible. But they had to admit that it works. And it’s true. I’m honest and show my girlfriends this photo album.”

Gene, 60, is famous for his ‘Demon’ black and white face paint and he admits he has applied his trademark make-up to many girls he has bedded.

He revealed: “I have painted it on women’s faces who wanted to wear it for the sex. Once I had a girl who had a tattoo of my face between her legs. I just felt sorry for her boyfriends.”
