How Jenny McCarthy Met Her New Boyfriend?
by cyan on Jan.12, 2011, under Actress, Dating
Jenny McCarthy met her new boyfriend on a blind date.
The 38-year-old beauty – who split from model Jason Toohey in December – decided to try a new method of dating in order to meet men from outside Los Angeles because she was sick of their obsession with appearances.
She said: “I decided to import this time because I wasn’t doing a very good job with LA guys. These LA dudes had more make up in their purse than me. They’d literally pull out their knapsack of concealers and I’m like, ‘It’s time to look outside of LA.’ I found a boy. I went on some blind dates. He was my fifth blind date.”
Although Jenny – who has previously dated Jim Carrey and has an eight-year-old son Evan with ex-husband John Asher – eventually struck lucky with sports agent Paul Krepelka, she did have to suffer through some terrible dates first.
She explained to US TV talk show host Ellen DeGeneres: “The first blind dates were these really bizarre dudes that were like, ‘Do you know Sharon Stone?’ And I’m sitting on a date going, ‘Well, I know of her. I’ve seen her in movies.’ ‘Well, you think you can get an autograph?’ I’m like, ‘Oh my god.’ ”
Thankfully for Jenny, her sister stepped in and introduced her to Paul, who she has been happily dating since December – though she admits they have some communication problems.
Jenny said: “My sister was the one who turned me on to Paul who’s a sports agent and lives in Boston. His accent is so strong – it’s like ‘Good Will Hunting’ strong – that I really can’t understand anything he says to me. He could’ve proposed to me and I could’ve said yes by now and I have no idea. And I’m really happy.”

Jennifer Lopez & Steven Tyler — ‘AI’
by Abbey on Jan.11, 2011, under Artist, Entertainment, Singer
Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are going to bring “heat” to the new series of ‘American Idol’
The two singers have joined Randy Jackson on the panel after previous judges Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres left the show but Randy thinks this year’s contestants are even more talented than in previous seasons and says the new series will be better than ever.
He said: “It’s gonna be hot. You’re gonna love it. I’m telling you, trust me. There’s lots of new talent.
“Heat, that’s what they’re going to bring. Watch, you’re going to love them. Steven is mad cool. I love him.”
Along with a new panel Randy joked he has some other changes planned for the show, including a live performance and album collaboration between him, TV host Mario Lopez and rapper Lil Wayne.
He added in an interview with RadarOnline.com: “Mario’s gonna sing. We’re gonna do a hip hop album with Mario. Me and Mario and Lil Wayne are doing this crazy album. The only problem, we just gotta call Lil Wayne first.”
Jennifer Lopez has previously revealed she is excited about the talent so far – even though the lengthy audition process did take its toll.
She said: “We’ve put a bunch of people through – probably more than they have in the past.
“We have about 15-20 real superstars, people who could be recording artists.
“I’ve cried. We get a lot of elation when we put them through and devastation, almost, when they’re not. But it’s been a ball.”

What Was Portia de Rossi Hiding…?
by Lisa on Dec.22, 2010, under Actress, Artist, Entertainment, Model, updates
Portia de Rossi admits hiding she was a lesbian contributed to her eating disorder
The model-turned-actress – who is married to Ellen DeGeneres – spoke of her long-term problems with body image, admitting she thinks she would still be suffering from anorexia nervosa if she hadn’t grown to accept herself.
Portia, who started dating Ellen in 2004, told the US TV talk show host: “I think I would have still suffered from an eating disorder if I wasn’t coming to terms with my sexuality.
“I really had the eating disorder because I started dieting when I was 12 and because of a lifetime of chronic dieting. But it sure didn’t help that I was hiding who I was because who I really was was completely unacceptable, I mean there were no lesbian actresses in the history of acting, I had no real gay role models, it was a very tough time.”
Later, when Ellen asked her how she could still finds thing wrong with her body when she weighed just 80 lbs, Portia – who speaks about her problems in her new autobiography ‘Unbearable Lightness’ – admitted she knew she was underweight but still focused on her perceived flaws.
She said: “I looked in the mirror and I saw that I had very emaciated arms, I saw bones and I knew I was underweight, but my eye went to the inch of fat that I still had on my stomach and I went to my thighs, and it still does, that’s kind of what I do when I look in the mirror.”
Portia clarified, however, that she is accepting of who she is and her figure today.

Village People Cop — ‘Idol’ Considering Me as Judge!!
The guy who played the original cop in the Village People claims he recently had a meeting with “American Idol” execs … who told him that he’s a “dark horse candidate” to be a judge on the show!
Victor Willis tells TMZ he’d be the “best choice” to replace Ellen DeGeneres and Simon Cowell because he was “the original idol judge for the selection of the Village People talent” back in 1977.
As we previously reported, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez are slated to take the judges table once their contracts are worked out — but just in case it doesn’t work out with them, Willis claims, “I reminded the [American Idol] representative that I was a judge for the selection of talent for the-most iconic group of characters of all time.”
He added, “The show’s response was that they’re very much aware of this and that I’m considered a serious dark horse candidate.”
So we gotta ask …

Randy Jackson — Nearly an ‘American Idol’ Casualty
Randy Jackson is the only judge returning to “American Idol” next season … but that almost wasn’t the case.
Randy Jackson – American Idol
Sources close to production tell TMZ there was “serious talk” of a clean sweep of the judge’s panel … but we’re told Idol brass wanted to keep a connection to the original judge’s table, so Randy was spared.
As we previously reported, Simon Cowell left for “The X Factor,” Ellen DeGeneres stepped down after one season and Kara DioGuardi was let go — leaving Randy as the only remaining judge.
Welcome back, dawg!

Kara DioGuardi — Out at ‘American Idol’
Sources connected with the “American Idol” negotiations tell TMZ Kara DioGuardi has judged her last contestant on “American Idol” — because she’s been fired.
We’re told the show will be going back to a three-judge format and assuming all deals are finalized, the judge’s panel will consist of Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.
We’re told the only way Kara could get a reprieve is if the J-Lo deal falls apart — but we’re told that deal is done.
Ellen DeGeneres announced earlier Thursday that she was leaving the show after just one season.

Why Miley Cyrus Fell For Liam Hemsworth ?
by Kavy on Mar.25, 2010, under Actress, Artist, Love, Music, Singer
Miley Cyrus fell for Liam Hemsworth when he opened the door for her.
The 17-year-old singer-and-actress admits she was instantly smitten with her ‘Last Song’ co-star when he displayed his impeccable manners on the set of the movie.
She said: “He opened the door for me. I was like, ‘I have been in Los Angeles for three years and I don’t think any guy has actually opened the door for me.’
“I was like, ‘Wow, that is super impressive’. I actually turned to the director and said, ‘He’s got the job, he’s hot and he opened the door. Excellent.’ ”
Despite being delighted at finding romance on the set of the movie, Miley admits she and Liam, 19, initially struggled with their feelings for one another.
She explained to US TV talk show host Ellen DeGeneres: “We started filming and at one point the chemistry was kind of awkward.
“I liked him a little bit, he liked me a little bit but it was awkward.”
However, once Miley felt more comfortable, she soon took charge in their relationship.
She told Liam: “OK, you’re going to be my boyfriend.”
Earlier this week, the ‘Hannah Montana’ star admitted she was to shy initially to discover if the Australian hunk liked her, so she paid her ‘Last Song’ co-star Bobby Coleman $10 to find out.
She admitted: “I paid him 10 bucks to go ask Liam if he liked me. I sent him back and forth. It was really funny.”

Is Cynthia Nixon …. Eater.?
by Alice on Mar.16, 2010, under Actor, Actress, Award, TV

Cynthia Nixon is a noisy eater.
‘Sex and the City’ creator Michael Patrick King banned the actress – who plays Miranda Hobbs in the TV series and subsequent films – from eating during shooting because she drowns out dialogue from the other members of the cast.
He said: “The fact is, there’s only one thing I avoided having Cynthia do on all the years of ‘Sex and the City’, and that was to eat on camera.
“I discovered early in the first season when I wrote that Miranda eats in a coffee shop, Cynthia would eat in the coffee shop. I mean, chew and bite with gusto.
“There were times you couldn’t even hear the other girls’ lines. And it totally creeped me out; it was like, ‘Why is she doing that? How do I get around it?’
“In editing, I’d be saying, ‘Is there a cut with her where you don’t see the steak in her mouth?’ Is there a different take?’ ”
The cast – including Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis – are allowed to choose their own food for restaurant scenes and Cynthia astonished producers with her less-than-healthy selections.
Speaking at the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards in New York at the weekend – where openly homosexual Cynthia was honoured with the Vito Russo Award – Michael added: “Seriously, all the girls would get to pick what they wanted in the coffee shop scenes, and Kristin and SJ would pick salads, and Kim would pick blueberries, and Cynthia, I’d look over and she’d be eating a cheeseburger.
“Like, eight cheeseburgers because you’d have to keep going and going and going again. And every time a new one arrived, she was even more delighted than the last.”

by Alice on Mar.09, 2010, under Fashion, Marriage, TV
Nicole Richie is ready to start finalising plans for her wedding
The TV star-and-fashion designer – who is engaged to Joel Madden – is free of work commitments and is focused on getting everything in place for her big day.
Nicole – who recently completed a tour of Europe to promote her new fashion range Winter Kate and her House of Harlow jewellery collection – told US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres: “I’ve been on the road. I just got home, and so it’s really going to be now that’s the time for me to sit down and think about what I want.”
Although the 28-year-old beauty is ready to start organising her nuptials she and Joel – who raise two children together, daughter Harlow, two, and six-month-old son Sparrow – are yet to pick a date.
When asked by Ellen if she had a day in mind, she replied: “Not yet, but soon.”
Earlier this week, Nicole claimed Joel has no say in their forthcoming nuptials.
The Good Charlotte rocker admitted Nicole is the one in charge of the plans, saying: “It’s the same thing as our engagement, we’re kind of doing it at our own pace. We have no idea right now.”
Nicole – who revealed their engagement last month – then quipped: “Like he has any say.”

Ellen DeGeneres – PETA Woman Of The Year
by Alice on Dec.31, 2009, under TV
The US TV host was awarded the title by People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) for her work in raising awareness of their campaigns promoting a lifestyle which is friendly to nature.
Tim Gunn, who appears on fashion programme ‘Project Runway’ in the US, was named Man Of The Year.
PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk said: “Tim Gunn and Ellen DeGeneres show us that one person really can make a difference in the world by rejecting cruel deeds in favour of compassionate acts.
“Their message that animals must be treated kindly and respectfully has reached scores of people, and many of them have changed their buying habits, all because Gunn and DeGeneres spoke up for the voiceless.”
Ellen, who fronts a self titled show, said she was delighted by the honour.
She tweeted: “I’m honoured PETA named me ‘Person of The Year’. I thank them for protecting animals every single day. Amazing.”
PETA said it gave its accolade to Ellen for being vegan and championing the meat and dairy-free lifestyle by inviting experts like Jonathan Safran Foer and Dr. Neal Barnard on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’.
Tim’s contributions include narrating the charity’s ‘Fashion Victims’ video, about extreme practices in the fur and reptile skin trade and for being creative director at fur-free fashion chain Liz Claiborne.
Both stars will be awarded plaques and a letter of appreciation.

Jennifer Lopez Has Bruised Her Butt At The American Music Awards
by Alice on Dec.04, 2009, under Actress, Artist, Music, Singer

The singer-and-actress fell during her performance at last month’s American Music Awards and injured her famous derriere in the process.
She said: “I have a bruised bone. What happened was one of the dancers’ backs was slippery from sweat and lights and everything. We never bargained for that because they always had T-shirts on in rehearsal.
“So they were bare-backed, didn’t have shirts on for the performance, and when I stepped on their backs my feet got wet. So when I landed, it just slipped from under me.”
Jennifer was performing her new song ‘Louboutins’ and credits adrenaline with helping back onto her feet so quickly.
She added to US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres: “That’s kind of what I felt the rest of the performance, ‘Did I fall?’ It happened so fast. I was up and all I could think was, ‘I have to get to the next beat. I have to do this dance solo right now.’ I had no time to think about it.”
“Then I get to the back, and one of the dancers was like, ‘Are you OK?’ ‘Oh my God that’s right, I fell.’ It was awful, but you know, it happened.”

Lady Gaga Revealed Why She Dresses In A Crazy Fashion
by cyan on Nov.26, 2009, under Artist, Music, Singer

The ‘Bad Romance’ singer claims she was taunted as a teenager because of the way she looked and says she now wears bizarre clothes so any of her fans who are also being ridiculed can look to her for inspiration.
She told US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres: “I want to create a space for my fans where they can feel free, and they can celebrate. I didn’t fit in at high school, I wanted to be like Boy George and I felt like a freak. So I like to create this atmosphere for my fans where they feel like they have a freak in me to hang out with, and they don’t feel alone.”
It took Lady Gaga, now 23, years to get over the bullying she suffered but she is now totally comfortable in her own skin and is proud of who she is.
She added: “It took a long time for me to be OK with myself. But I want my fans to know that it is OK. Sometimes in life you don’t always feel like a winner, but that doesn’t mean you’re not a winner.”

Portia de Rossi Was Very Nervous To Date Ellen DeGeneres
by cyan on Nov.10, 2009, under Actress

The ‘Arrested Development’ actress said she fell for the talk show host the first time she “laid eyes on her”, but couldn’t bring herself to ask her out.
Portia, 36, said: “I just walked over to say hello to her and I couldn’t believe it, but she turned around and it was like an arrow was shot through my heart.
“I was weak at the knees and I was overwhelmed with how I felt. But then it took me about 10 months to get the courage up to do something about it.”
Portia – who married Ellen in 2008 – says it took her a long time to open up to the 41-year-old comedienne about how she felt because she was worried about the public response to her sexuality.
She said: “It took me three years to actually tell her how I felt about her, because I was on ‘Ally McBeal’ at that time and I was not living as an openly gay person.
“I was closeted and very, very afraid that if I talked about being gay it would be the end of my career. So I wasn’t about to then date the most famous lesbian in the world.”
