DMX — Xcused From Jail

DMX has just been released from an L.A. jail … after serving 18 days of a 90-day sentence stemming from a reckless driving conviction in 2002.

Before X began his sentence, the rapper said he was dedicated to taking “steps toward regaining everything I’ve lost.”

FYI — Lindsay Lohan also had a 90-day sentence … but she got out in 14 days.

DMX Records Going-to-Jail Video … With a Beat

Hours before DMX turned himself in to police in L.A. yesterday, the rapper shot a 45-second goodbye video for his fans … and even included a beat-filled soundtrack for your listening pleasure.

Speaking at approximately 892 words-per-minute, X explains his plans to turn himself in for a probation violation stemming from a reckless driving conviction back in 2002 … and in a perfectly timed PR move, he does it all to the tune of his new unreleased song “Time to Get Paid.”

According to the rapper — who is currently serving his 90-day sentence — the mea culpa is “one of the first steps toward regaining everything I’ve lost.”

And in case you didn’t notice — X was in such a hurry after this interview, he didn’t even have time to change his shirt before taking his mug shot.

DMX — The Newest Mug Shot

TMZ has obtained DMX’s latest mug shot — taken moments after he turned himself in to authorities in Los Angeles today.

As we first reported, DMX was ordered to serve 90 days in jail in connection to a reckless driving conviction from way back in 2002.

If DMX looks relaxed in the mug shot … it’s because he’s taken about a million of them.

DMX Headed Back to Jail

TMZ has learned rapper DMX is planning to surrender to authorities in a Los Angeles courtroom and begin serving jail time in connection to a crime he committed “5 or 6 years ago” … this according to X’s manager.

X’s manager tells us she’s not sure about the nature of the crime — but insists that DMX is “focused” on taking care of all of his past legal issues so he can move on with his life.

Earlier this month, DMX completed a 4-month jail stint in Arizona … where he served time for a probation violation.

TMZ has learned X’s jail stint all stems from a 2002 reckless driving conviction. Turns out, DMX was placed on probation after he plead no contest to the crime … but has since violated his probation … and has been ordered to serve 90 days in a city jail facility.
