Paris Hilton and Cy Waits went shopping for an engagement ring in New York City on Friday (18.02.11)

The loved-up couple were spotted in jewellers Jacob & Co. looking at several different sparklers, including a rare 30-carat blue diamond.

Despite inspecting the betrothal bands, the pair don’t have any happy news to announce just yet, but Paris did leave the store with a $25,000 black diamond-encrusted ring for her 30th birthday – which was on Thursday (17.02.11).

However, the hotel heiress insists it won’t be long until she and Las Vegas club owner Cy do commit to one another.

She told the New York Post newspaper: “We’ve talked about it (getting engaged). This is once in a lifetime. I want to be with him forever. And Cy has great taste. He just bought me a beautiful sports car.”

Paris was referring to the white Lexus LFA convertible supercar her boyfriend bought her for her birthday.

The blonde beauty topped off a week of partying by meeting her friend Denise Richards at Asellina restaurant on Thursday, before joining her family for a celebratory meal at top eatery Lavo.

Paris had one of her birthday cakes stolen by a musician known as ‘Paz’ from her Hollywood party on Tuesday (15.02.11).

Oksana Grigorieva — Dissatisfied, Lawyer Shopping

Oksana Grigorieva clearly wants more than she’s been getting from the courts — because she’s seriously on the hunt for another family law lawyer in her legal war with Mel Gibson. We’ve learned she’s made an appointment to meet with yet another high-powered family law attorney today.

Oksana has a sit-down this AM at the law offices of Hersh, Mannis & Bogen in Bev Hills. We’re told members of Oksana’s posse want her to hire Neal Hersh. The firm has repped, among others, Pamela Anderson, Denise Richards and Melissa Etheridge.

This will be the second interview with a family law lawyer in two days. Oksana met with family veteran Sorrell Trope on Saturday, but we’re told she wants to visit Hersh’s firm before deciding.

As for why Oksana is antsy — so far she has not been able to score more than the $5,000 a month in the child support she agreed to in the settlement with Mel in May — a settlement she has since disavowed. Her current lawyers are asking for more than 40k a month, but the judge hasn’t decided whether any or all of that will fly.

We’re told there’s strife in Oksana’s posse over which lawyer she should hire. But it sounds like she’s determined to make a change.

Gloria Allred Dogs Charlie Sheen in Aspen

Charlie Sheen may have dodged a bullet, but he didn’t dodge Gloria Allred — because she’s in Aspen, armed with a woman who we’re told would have been a witness in Charlie’s case had it gone to trial.

We’re told Allred flew in over the weekend and will hold a news conference after Charlie’s court hearing today.  The woman — we do not know her identity — will be by Gloria’s side and will speak as well.

Gloria has a history with Charlie … she repped Brittany Ashland, who sued Charlie in 1997 for allegedly physically abusing her.  We’re told Ashland reached a settlement with Charlie but the terms are confidential.  Charlie pled no contest in ‘97 to misdemeanor battery in the criminal case.

We’re told the woman who will be by Allred’s side is neither Brittany Ashland nor Denise Richards.  It’s almost certainly not Kelly Preston.

Charlie Sheen Surrenders Custody of Sam & Lola

TMZ has learned Charlie Sheen has surrendered legal custody of the two kids he had with Denise Richards.

Sources intimately familiar with the situation tell TMZ … Charlie and Denise signed a written agreement in which Denise now has full legal custody of 6-year-old Sam and 4-year-old Lola.  Up to now Charlie and Denise had joint legal custody.

Sources say Denise wanted full legal custody given Charlie’s current marital turmoil, sobriety issues and criminal problems … and Charlie didn’t put up a fight.

We’re told the agreement was signed two weeks ago but the parties didn’t want to file it with the court just yet.

Now that Denise has full legal custody … she can make medical, schooling and other important decisions without getting Charlie’s sign-off.  She can also leave the country with the kids without Charlie’s permission.

Under their divorce agreement, Denise has primary physical custody and Charlie has visitation rights.

We’ve learned Charlie has been paying Denise $50,000 a month in child support since their divorce. As we first reported yesterday, according to Brooke Mueller’s prenup with Charlie, she’ll get $55,000 a month in child support plus add-ons — like medical and schooling expenses — and that could drive the monthly support upwards of $125,000.

Calls to attorneys for Charlie and Denise were not returned.

Brittany Ashland – who filed a suit in 1997 alleging the ‘Two and a Half Men’ star attacked her – has reportedly approached Arnold Mordkin, the Pitkin County Deputy District Attorney in charge of the case against Charlie, who is accused of assaulting his wife Brooke Mueller on Christmas Day (25.12.09) and offered to give evidence against him, Radar Online have reported.

Charlie, 44, is expected to plead not guilty to a felony and two misdemeanour charges when he appears in court on March 15.

It was previously reported that the district attorney in charge of the case was keen to interview the actor’s other ex-girlfriend Kelly Preston, as well as former wife Denise Richards.

In 1990, he accidentally shot Kelly – who is now married to John Travolta – in the arm, which led to the end of their engagement, while Denise filed a restraining order in 2006 claiming he’d threatened to kill her.

Charlie – who has 10-month-old twin sons Bob and Max with Brooke and daughters Sam, five, and Lola, four, with Denise – is currently in rehab.

Following Brittany’s 1997 allegations that he grabbed her by the hair and slammed her into a marble floor, knocking her unconscious, Charlie pleaded no contest to misdemeanour battery with serious injury charges and was given a suspended jail sentence.
