Gia Mantegna has been named Miss Golden Globe 2011

The 20-year-old actress – who is the daughter of former award nominee Joe Mantegna and his restaurateur wife Arlene – feels “honoured” to have been awarded the prestigious title by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

She said: “I have grown up watching the Golden Globes with my family and feel so fortunate to be part of such a magical evening, so early on in my career.”

Previous Miss Golden Globes include Melanie Griffith – daughter of Hitchcock’s leading lady Tippi Hedren - who gave out the awards in 1975.

Rumer Willis – whose parents are Bruce Willis and Demi Moore – was named Miss Golden Globe in 2008, but the subsequent ceremony was cancelled due to the Hollywood writer’s strike.

Kevin Costner’s daughter Lily was Miss Golden Globe in 2004 and in 1995 the title was given to a boy, Clark Gable’s son John.

Gia – who is dating ‘Hannah Montana’ actor Mitchel Musso – started her acting career at the age of 13 when she appeared in the film ‘Uncle Nero’ alongside her father.

She has since appeared on ‘Secret Life of the American Teenager,’ ‘Criminal Minds’ and NickTeen series ‘Gigantic’ alongside Meryl Streep’s daughter Grace Gummer.

The president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Philip Berk, commented: “We are thrilled to have Gia as this year’s Miss Golden Globe.

“She is just as talented as she is beautiful and will surely be a great addition to the show.”

The 68th Golden Globe Awards – which honour the best in film and television – will be presented on January 16 at the Beverly Hilton hotel in California.

Miley Cyrus kissed teen actor Avan Jogia during her 18th birthday party on Sunday night (21.11.10)

The singer-and-actress – whose actual birthday is today (23.11.10) – celebrated reaching the landmark age at Los Angeles nightclub Trousdale.

She headed straight to the nightspot after performing at the American Music Awards (AMAs) and was seen smooching the 18-year-old Canadian star – who appears in new Nickelodeon TV series ‘Victorious’, which follows the life of fictional aspiring singer Tori Vega and her days at performing arts high school Hollywood Arts.

Despite the embrace, it has been claimed that Miley and Avan are not dating.

A source told People: “They’re just hanging out. She’s still single. They have just hung out together a few times and are getting to know each other – that’s really it right now.”

The ‘Can’t Be Tamed’ hitmaker partied with her mother Tish, actress Demi Moore and her husband Ashton Kutcher, Demi’s daughter Rumer Willis, Kelly Osbourne, actor-and-rapper Kyle Massey and ‘Glee’ stars Mark Salling and Chord Overstreet as DJ Cobra played music.

As well as getting a birthday kiss from Avan, Miley was also treated to a giant red velvet cake, Key lime pies, chocolate mousse and raspberry shot glasses and a dessert table, all provided by the Sweet & Saucy Shop.

The teen star – whose father Billy Ray Cyrus is currently divorcing her mother – has revealed she likes to celebrate her birthday for an entire month.

She said: “I have a birthday month. I do the whole month of November. Thanksgiving, cake – it’s all about me on Thanksgiving!”

Courtney Love’s Daughter — Free At Last!

TMZ has learned … Frances Bean Cobain is officially and legally a free woman.

The guardianship she was under automatically ended by law Wednesday, on Frances Bean’s 18th birthday. Prior to that — and over the strong objection of her mom, Courtney Love — Frances Bean was under the guardianship of her paternal grandmother.

Courtney has been tweeting like crazy, trying to get Frances Bean back in her life, but some of the tweets have been curious … for example, “You’ve done a damned good job frances of destroying anything i could build that is positive, and i want to know why now that your of age.”

Sounds like a real bonding moment.

Laurence Fishburne’s Daughter — Porn Star

Laurence Fishburne’s 19-year-old daughter is making a serious push to break into Hollywood – and she’s doing it with a hardcore sex tape.

TMZ has learned Montana Fishburne is starring in a porno flick for Vivid Entertainment — explaining, “I’ve watched how successful Kim Kardashian became and I think a lot of it was due to the release of her sex tape.”

Unlike the celeb she admires — Montana is not arguing that her tape was stolen or obtained illegally.

We’re told the flick is set to be released in August.

Jesse James Wins Big Custody Victory

The judge in the Jesse James/Janine Lindemulder custody battle just ruled Jesse can take daughter Sunny to live in Texas.

When the judge ruled, Janine Lindemulder dropped her head on the table and began sobbing.  Janine was trying to block the move so she could visit her.

The judge ruled Jesse and Janine will have joint legal custody, but Jesse will have physical custody.

Shortly after the ruling, Janine screamed, “I’ll move, I’ll move!”

The former couple has been going toe-to-toe in Orange County because Jesse wanted to move their daughter Sunny from California to Texas — and Janine was trying to keep that from happening.

Jesse’s Sister: Janine is Cyber-Threatening Me

Jesse James’ sister claims she’s been receiving email threats from Jesse’s ex-wife Janine Lindemulder … and Janine’s mom.

Julie James England tells TMZ in the past few weeks, she’s been bombarded with angry emails from Janine and her mom Jonlyn.

In fact, England tells us she received an email from Jonlyn just a few weeks ago that read, “You and your sh*tbag brother need to back off my daughter and granddaughter if you both know what’s best for you.”

England says she received an email from Janine later that day that read, “All this sh*t you are causing with your brother julie [sic], isn’t going to turn out well.”

Janine and Julie used to be close friends — but Julie tells us the two drifted apart after Janine began her battle with substance abuse.

As for the alleged cyber threats, Julie tells us she will not be filing a police report, but all the emails have been given to Jesse’s attorney.

Jesse’s Ex to Sandra: You Don’t Care About My Kid

Another major shot fired in the Jesse James custody war — this time, his ex-wife claims she can prove Sandra Bullock doesn’t want to have a relationship with her daughter Sunny.

In court papers filed recently in Orange County, CA — Janine Lindemulder insists that Jesse’s “reasons” for wanting to move to Texas with Sunny are “wholly unjustified” … and attacks Bullock to make her point.

Janine claims Jesse had argued that he wants to move to Texas “so his children could continue their relationship with Sandra Bullock” … who now lives in Austin.

But in the docs, Janine points to the fact that Sandra had recently moved out of California … and states, “Certainly if that relationship were that important to Sandra, she would have stayed in California — where all of [Jesse's] children lived.”

Janine — who considers California her home — wants the judge to rule that “[Jesse] not be allowed to move to Texas with Sunny.”

Jesse and Janine are due back in court on Monday.

The supermodel and husband Rande Gerber’s former nanny is alleged to have taken a photo of then-seven-year-old Kaia tied to a chair and passed it on to suspect Edis Kayalar.

Court documents then claim Kayalar attempted to extort $100,000 from the couple and repeatedly threatened to sell or release the photograph to the media if they failed to pay.

In a statement, Cindy’s spokeswoman Annett Wolf said: “Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford intend to pursue any and all available legal action against anyone who aids the perpetrator in the distribution or sale of the photograph of their daughter.”

According to the documents, Kaia – who is now eight – told her parents the photo, which they had been unaware of, was taken during a “cops and robbers” game with the nanny.

Kayalar has now been deported to his native Germany and if convicted of extortion, he could face up to two years in prison.

Cindy and Rande married in 1998 and they also have a 10-year-old son Presley.
