Daniel Radcliffe thinks it is “lovely” Robert Pattinson has found fame

The 22-year-old actor – who starred alongside the Hollywood hunk in 2005 movie ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ – explained he hasn’t seen Robert since the 25-year-old star shot to fame starring in 2008’s ‘Twilight’, but he is pleased he has become popular.

Speaking on ‘Access Hollywood Live’ today (19.08.11), Daniel said: “We worked together on the fourth ['Harry Potter'] film, but I haven’t seen him since any of the ‘Twilight’ movies.

“It’s lovely to see anyone from the franchise doing other things and becoming successful, but we haven’t had any contact.”

Robert starred as wizard Cedric Diggory in the fourth ‘Harry Potter’ movie – and Daniel, who played the titular character in the 10-year film series, admits his co-star has turned into the “most famous guy in the world” in the last three years.

He added: “He’s had to deal with a lot. [As soon as the 'Twilight' movies came out] Robert was suddenly the most famous guy in the world.”

The ‘Harry Potter’ actor has been linked to a string of girls in the past, but he has quietly been romancing production assistant Rosanne Coker for the past year after meeting on the set of ‘Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’ in 2007.

Her father Malcolm – who runs his own painting business – said he was thrilled with the romance because Daniel is a “lovely” guy.

He told the Daily Mail newspaper: “I don’t want to say too much really as they would really prefer to keep things quiet.

“But Rosanne has worked on the last three ‘Harry Potter’ films, so she and Daniel have known each other quite a long time. But they have been going out for just over a year now. I have met Daniel and he is a lovely guy. I’m just really happy for Rosanne and as long as she is happy that is all that matters to me.”

Malcolm says Daniel treats his 22-year-old daughter with the upmost respect and he thinks he is great for her but he isn’t sure where their romance is going.

He said: “No other parent would ask any more. I know it’s not a normal life they live. But they have a lot of fun together and at their age, what more could you ask? Who knows where it is going to lead? She still lives over here in London and he is in New York a lot, but she wants to make sure that she continues her career and wants to achieve everything she set out to do.”

Daniel Radcliffe loves the ‘Harry Potter’ theme park – because he doesn’t have to pay

The 21-year-old actor – who has played the titular boy wizard in all eight of the movies in the franchise – was thrilled to be asked to open the attraction in Florida, which is based on the films and original books by J. K. Rowling, because he got to enjoy the rides afterwards.

He said: “It’s brilliant going round your own theme park. You don’t have to queue, you don’t have to pay.

“I went on the Dragon Challenge roller coaster five times.”

Despite having amassed an estimated £48 million fortune, Daniel admits he “doesn’t know” what to do with his cash, but is pleased he never has to worry about his finances.

He said: “I don’t know what to do with it. I’m very fortunate to have it, and it gives you room to manoeuvre.

“But the main thing about having money is it means you don’t have to worry about it. And that for me is a lovely thing. It’s not for fast cars and hookers.”

Daniel Radcliffe wants to study archaeology

The 21-year-old actor is sad that the ‘Harry Potter’ movie series – in which he has played the titular boy wizard in all eight films – is coming to a close, but happy he will now have more free time to pursue his interests.

He said: “I watch a huge amount of stuff on the Discovery Channel and have started considering doing an Open University course because I’m becoming more and more fascinated by archaeology.

“So yes, as sad as I am to say goodbye to Harry, I’m really excited to see what the future holds.”

While Daniel is looking forward to pursuing other interests, fans can expect not to see him getting involved in sport as he admits he is “hopeless”.

He told Britain’s Hello! magazine: “I’m fit. I can run and I’m very agile but in terms of sports, I’ve always been pretty rubbish.

“I love cricket but I’m abysmal at it. What I love about cricket is there’s a place for hopeless enthusiasts and that’s what I am.

Daniel Radcliffe admits acting doesn’t “come naturally” to him

The 21-year-old star was cast in the ‘Harry Potter’ movies when he was just 11 years old and he admits one of the main reasons why he and co-stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson were cast was because of their appearances, rather than their talent.

He said: “I think there’s a perception that we got the parts because we looked right. I think that’s probably quite fair.

“Also, acting is something that I don’t necessarily think comes naturally to me. Certainly not as natural as it does to, say, Haley Joel Osment or Dakota Fanning, who were just giving full-blown adult performances at the age of 10.”

Despite his insecurity about his talent, the ‘Harry Potter’ cast and crew are quick to praise Daniel’s work ethic, insisting he is more committed to the project than many other stars.

Producer David Heyman told Britain’s GQ magazine: “On the first day of shooting the very first film Dan had these coloured contact lenses in. And they were causing him so much pain but he never complained.

“There are people who have nowhere near his talent or celebrity who don’t show that commitment. I think he missed maybe two or three days through sickness in the entire eight films.”

Emma Watson was “genuinely terrified” by the war scenes in ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2′

The film series climaxes with a huge battle between titular wizard Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) and his Hogwarts co-horts against evil Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) and his followers the Death Eaters, and the actress says the special effects were so realistic, most of the cast were in shock.

Emma – who plays Harry’s friend Hermione Granger – said: “They put plugs in our ears to protect our eardrums, but you can still hear because you’re so close to the bangs. There’s this one scene where they detonated all of these bombs, like, right next to us. I was absolutely, genuinely terrified.”

Rupert Grint – who plays another of Harry’s sidekicks, Ron Weasley – agreed, comparing the set to a battle epic.

He told Empire magazine: “It turned into a bit of a war film. We all formed this army, the castle is on fire with rubble and bodies littered everywhere. It’s shocking really, and they’re all kids as well!”

Catherine Zeta-Jones is to be one of the presenters at next month’s Tony Awards

The 41-year-old star – who, at last year’s ceremony, was named Best Leading Actress for her role in Broadway musical ‘A Little Night Music’ – will hand out one of the prizes at the prestigious event at New York’s Beacon Theatre on June 12.

Other stars who will be presenting awards include Daniel Radcliffe, Whoopi Goldberg, Chris Rock, Alec Baldwin, Samuel L. Jackson and Kelsey Grammer.

The awards – which will be hosted by ‘How I Met Your Mother’ star Neil Patrick Harris – will be one of Catherine’s first official public appearances since she announced last month she had been to rehab to receive treatment Bipolar II disorder, which is also known as manic depression.

At last year’s awards, after she was named Best Leading Actress, Catherine took to the stage to give a gushing speech, which included an intimate tribute to her husband Michael Douglas.

She told the audience: “See that man there? He’s a movie star and I get to sleep with him every night.”

However, she later admitted her comments her “crass”, saying: “It wasn’t the most elegant thing to say, was it? I was so caught up in the moment I don’t think I knew what I was saying. I had no control what was coming out of my mouth.

“Standing up there I felt speechless but obviously I said something but it was such a surprise that my brain didn’t really connect to my mouth.

Daniel Radcliffe was “worried” when he heard a rumour that another ‘Harry Potter’ book was being written

The British actor – who has portrayed the bespectacled wizard in the films of J.K. Rowling’s hugely popular book series for the past decade – admitted he contacted the author in a panic when heard false reports that she was planning an eighth instalment.

He said: “I was worried! I texted her. I said, ‘Look, is this true? Are you writing another book?!’ ” Hours later the 45-year-old writer put Daniel’s mind at rest, reassuring him there would be no more books – and joked that she had decided not to write another as a “reward” to the actor for depicting her protagonist so well in the last film ‘Harry Potter And the Deathly Hallows: Part 1″.

Daniel said: “She wrote back that she was so pleased with my performance in Harry Potter 7: Part 1 that as a reward, she promised to never write another book about Harry.” The 21-year-old star is coming to the end of his days playing the magical hero but says he has barely had time to think about it because of his other work commitments.

Daniel Radcliffe accepts he will never again achieve the career success he has had with ‘Harry Potter’

The British actor is getting ready for the release of the final movie in the franchise ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2’ and while Daniel hopes to continue working as an actor, he is under no illusions that he can match the popularity of the boy wizard series.

During an appearance on TV show ‘Live! With Regis & Kelly’, he explained: “My aim is hopefully just continuing to work as much as I can. Obviously I’ll never be in anything with the commercially success that ‘Harry Potter’ has but then again neither will anyone else.

He initially had reservations about singing in the production but he has now come to adore his musical numbers.

“I love my singing teacher, he’s a fantastic guy so the singing was just something I’ve put a lot of work into.”

Although he loves to sing, Daniel is not so keen on dancing and admitted being surrounded by professionals is not helping his confidence.

He said: “I had no aptitude for dancing, there was a lot of hard work with my fantastic dance teacher. When you’re surrounded by the most talented seasoned Broadway dancers it makes it even more difficult.”

Daniel Radcliffe isn’t going to see his girlfriend for “a few months”

The 21-year-old actor – who is believed to have been dating Olive Uniacke for around nine months – will be starring in stage musical ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’ on New York’s Broadway from March 27 and admits he will see his UK-based partner less often because she recently landed a new job in England.

He said: “She’s here with me as much as she can be. She’s about to start a new job in not too long though, so I won’t see her for a few months.”

The ‘Harry Potter’ actor also revealed he doesn’t worry about intrusion into his personal life because he is “boring”, but he finds it easier to go out in New York.

He told the USA Today newspaper: “I’m very comfortable discussing my personal life, because it’s so boring.

“I love it, because it’s possible to be kind of anonymous. I’m 5ft 5ins, and I’ll wear a big parka and put the hood up, and nobody gives me a second glance.”

While Daniel is looking forward to appearing in the stage show, he admits he has found it difficult learning to dance.

He said: “The thought of dancing scared me. A lot. Because I have absolutely no aptitude for it.”

However, in addition to extensive rehearsals, Daniel has been taught a trick he hopes will fool the audience over his lack of dancing talent.

The ‘Harry Potter’ actor has made an estimated £45.6 million, £25 million of which comes from the final two films in the series ‘The Deathly Hallows’, alone, almost £15 million more than the second-placed star, 25-year-old Keira Knightley, who has made a fortune of £30.1 million so far.

Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint used to hide from their bodyguards

The trio – who played Hermione Granger, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise for almost ten years – hated having to be followed wherever they went and so would to try and make an escape as often as possible.

Emma said: “I hate having bodyguards and when we were younger, Dan, Rupert and I used to try to hide from the people trying to keep an eye on us.”

Now the stunning actress – who is juggling her acting and modelling careers with studying at Brown University in America – has learned to accept attention from fans and prefers to go out without any bodyguards as she is often able to go out without being disturbed.

She added: “Now it’s like ‘Really, I’m fine.’ I take the train and the bus and, if I don’t dress up too much, I’m usually fine. Occasionally people stop me but I’d rather deal with that than not go out at all. That’d be really tragic.”

Daniel Radcliffe doesn’t mind if people always think of him as Harry Potter

The 21-year-old actor has played the young wizard for almost 10 years across eight movies and said he knows some people will never be able to separate him from the magical character.

Daniel said: “I’m sure some people will see me forever as Harry Potter and I’m fine with that.”

Although Daniel knows he will always be regarded as Harry Potter, he is hoping to change people’s perceptions of him by choosing some diverse roles, such as the big screen adaptation of ‘The Woman in Black’ which he is currently filming.

Daniel said: “There will be others that are willing to see me in different roles. And hopefully, if I keep choosing diverse and challenging stuff, people will let that image go.”

Despite his 10 years in the movie business, Daniel insisted he doesn’t think he is a great actor and said he knows he still has a lot of work to do.

He said: “Certainly nobody in the cast thinks they are ‘there’ yet in terms of acting. We all know we’ve got a lot to learn and a long way to go.”

Emma Watson was allowed to drink alcohol when she was just seven

The ‘Harry Potter’ actress has revealed her parents Chris and Jacqueline – who are both lawyers who divorced when she was just five – always treated her like an adult and she was allowed to drink wine with meals as a child.

Emma, now 20, believes her parent’s attitude to alcohol stopped her from drinking to excess as a teenager like many of friends.

She said: “My dad wouldn’t have any of this kids stuff. We would never be allowed to order from the kids’ menu in restaurants. He’d always expect me to have adult conversations. I wasn’t babied I was expected to step up when I was told to. I was never not allowed alcohol – I was seven when I had my first glass of wine, mixed with water and with a meal. I found it really strange when I got to school and everyone was like, ‘Ooh, we’ve got alcohol!’ I wasn’t interested.”

Emma spent a lot of time from her parents shooting the eight ‘Harry Potter’ movies – in which she plays Hermione Granger - and although she wishes should could have seen more of them while growing up she is very grateful for the experience.

She added to The Sunday Times Magazine: “I would never have forgiven my parents if they’d stopped me from having this amazing opportunity. What has been hard is making eight blockbusters back-to-back throughout the whole of my teenage years. If it was my daughter I would prefer to be just one or two movies . I was a long time away from my mum. Dan (Daniel Radcliffe) and Rupert’s (Rupert Grint) parents gave up their jobs to be with them. Neither of my parents did. But both my parents love their work and it’s a big part of their identity.”

The 21-year-old actor – who shot to fame playing the lead role in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise when he was just 11 years old – is delighted filming has finished on the movies as he can now do what he wants, and though he and co-stars Emma Watson,20, and Rupert Grint,22, discussed matching inkings, they felt they don’t need any more reminders about the wizarding series.

Referring to the lighting bolt permanently scarring his character’s forehead, he said: “I don’t know what our tattoo would be, I assume it be a scar.

“I definitely do want to get some tattoos, but I don’t know if the first thing I would rush out to get would be something ‘Harry Potter’ related, because let’s face it, I’m going to have this for the rest of my life anyway as it is, I don’t need a tattoo that says the same.

“I want something I can grow into over the years.”

Daniel recently finished working on the last of the films in the franchise, the two part ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ and revealed there were two particular pieces of memorabilia he wanted to keep.

It has previously been claimed that the British star rarely showers and has upset cast and crew on the ‘Twilight Saga’ with his pungent body odour.

A source close to the star – who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the film franchise – previously said: “He stinks. I mean, it’s awful. He never showers, and it drives people on the set crazy. He completely reeks.”

Robert Pattinson has spent $1,000 on a bike

The British actor has splashed out on a 2010 Felt Breed Cyclo-X off-road cycle and has been spotted riding around Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he is currently filing ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’.

One onlooker said: “He was by himself on his bike for a good portion of yesterday.

“He looked to be having a good time and he was even trying to do tricks with it. He was riding pretty fast at some points too.”

According to the manager of Capitol Cyclery, the 24-year-old star told staff he “didn’t want a mountain bike” and “wanted something simple”.

Robert impressed workers with his down-to-earth attitude.

The store’s manager told HollywoodLife.com: “He didn’t strike me as a movie star when he walked in the door.”

As well as buying a new bike, it was recently claimed the ‘Remember Me’ star is planning to spend £30,000 on a Halloween party.

A source said: “Rob’s organising a huge soiree to celebrate Halloween, he thinks it is going to be hilarious for the cast and crew to dress up in scary costumes.

“The crew are huge fans of Rob and are really looking forward to it. Rob knows how much they all love Halloween so has really gone to town.

“He’s asked a couple of costume designers he knows to make special ghoul costumes for his guests.”

Robert Pattinson takes six months to write a song

The ‘Twilight Saga’ actor – who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the film series – was an aspiring musician before he found success as an actor, but admits he has a slow work rate.

He said: “I write a song every six months. I never write a diary. I think that’s why it takes me so long. You have to summarise your personality changing.”

The actor, who plays piano and guitar as well as singing, has previously had two tracks he has performed, ‘Never Think’ and ‘Let Me Sign’ – both of which were written by other people – included on the first ‘Twilight’ soundtrack.

They were reportedly included by the film’s director Catherine Hardwicke, initially without the British hunk’s knowledge.

Robert has previously said he sees music as his “back-up plan” if being a film star fails, and that he believes he will be famous when he’s dead.

He said: “I am sure I’ll be one of those artists that people don’t pay any attention to while I’m alive, and when I am dead people will go yeah, man, that was a work of art.”

The British actor has decided to treat the cast and crew of the latest instalment in the vampire series ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’ to a ghoulish bash during a break from filming this weekend, and has even paid for costume designers to create special spooky outfits for them all to wear.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: “Rob’s organising a huge soiree to celebrate Halloween, he thinks it is going to be hilarious for them all to dress up in scary costumes.

“The crew are huge fans of Rob and are really looking forward to it. Rob knows how much they all love Halloween so has really gone to town.

“He’s asked a couple of costume designers he knows to make special ghoul costumes for his guests.”

It is thought the 24-year-old heartthrob will be dressing as famous blood-sucker Dracula for the Los Angeles bash.

Robert is also believed to have splashed out on a Halloween-inspired gift for his girlfriend Kristen Stewart to celebrate the spooky day – which lands on Sunday October 31.

The source explained: “Rob brought a special vintage gold ring with a red heart for Kristen. He’s planning to give it to her just before the bash starts.”

The generous screen hunk is determined for his guests to have fun before they return to the set on Monday (01.11.10), and has ordered in “cauldrons” full of alcohol and soup to help kick the party off in style.

The source added: “Rob has also drafted in caterers to cook massive cauldrons full of soup and ale.

“The cast start shooting again on Monday so are free to spend the weekend having fun and getting into the spirit of things.

“There’s no way the cast of ‘Twilight’ would miss Halloween. It’s a massive event for them and something they’re always up for having a laugh with.”

Robert Pattinson “can’t do anything in America” because of his huge fame

The ‘Twilight’ heartthrob claims his success has presented him with more difficulties in the US than his native Britain because everywhere he goes he is hounded by paparazzi and fans.

He said: “It’s changed more in America. I always thought it would’ve by now in London, but it hasn’t really.

“I can’t do anything in America. I just don’t want to have any stories written about me.

“Anyone who likes going out and having their photo taken all the time, to me, seems an incredibly boring person or very delusional.”

Robert – who is dating his ‘Twilight’ co-star Kristen Stewart - also admits his fame frequently makes him “paranoid”.

He added to Britain’s OK! magazine: “You want to take control of it all the time and it’s impossible. It’s nice sometimes. You do get kind of paranoid, but it allows me to do the films I want to do.”

The couple host “game nights” on the set of their new movie ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’ challenging each other to games of family favourites including chess, Monopoly and Scrabble.

The competitive duo – who play lovers in the hit vampire series – have also invited co-stars Taylor Lautner and Ashley Greene to join them to beat the boredom during filming breaks.

But Robert, 24, and Kristen, 21, have become so obsessed with winning the games have sometimes ended in rows.

A source told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “Rob and Kristen have hours to burn on set and have got massively into board games.

“It gets competitive. There have been tantrums over snakes and ladders.”

Kristen’s enthusiasm for board games will come as no surprise to Robert who has admitted he fell for the star because she is so down-to-earth.

The heartthrob actor – who stars as vampire Edward Cullen opposite Kristen, who plays Bella Swan in the franchise – has praised her for being a “real woman”.

Robert, who has never confirmed they are dating, said: “What I especially like about her is that she’s like me, not dizzy from fans and press attention. She stays true to herself and very smart for her age.”
