Courtney Love’s Daughter — Free At Last!

TMZ has learned … Frances Bean Cobain is officially and legally a free woman.

The guardianship she was under automatically ended by law Wednesday, on Frances Bean’s 18th birthday. Prior to that — and over the strong objection of her mom, Courtney Love — Frances Bean was under the guardianship of her paternal grandmother.

Courtney has been tweeting like crazy, trying to get Frances Bean back in her life, but some of the tweets have been curious … for example, “You’ve done a damned good job frances of destroying anything i could build that is positive, and i want to know why now that your of age.”

Sounds like a real bonding moment.

The “New Moon” romantic vampire might be playing  ‘Kurt Cobain’ in a movie titled ‘All Apologies’ and may be seen pairing up with Scarlett Johansson who could play Cobain’s widow Courtney Love according to latest reports.

To proceed with this Hollywood biopic Rob has regularly been in touch with Cobain’s widow, Courtney Love who has been handed a key role in the production by bosses at the Universal Pictures and wanted Pattinson as Cobain and Scarlett Johansson, to portray her under the direction of David Fincher.

According to The Sun, a source said: “This is a big money deal for Courtney. She has agreed to the film on condition that she gets to decide the main aspects of the project including director, casting, screenplay and music.”

“Robert has been calling and emailing her non-stop. She has been a bit wound up by his manners, but he is her number one choice to play Kurt. She is adamant Scarlett will play her. Scarlett is friendly with Frances Bean, her daughter with Kurt.”

Robert Pattinson, who shot to fame playing vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight movie franchise once admitted he would like to win an Oscar. May be this film can fulfill his dreams!

Frances Bean Cobain – whose father is late Nirvana rocker Kurt Cobain – has taken legal action against her mother just a week after guardianship of her was handed over to Kurt’s mother, Wendy O’Connor and sister Kimberly Dawn Cobain, at the teenager’s request.

A judge has issued a temporary restraining order forbidding Courtney to have contact with Frances, with another hearing is set for January 5 to consider making it permanent.

After guardianship of her daughter was taken from her last week, for undisclosed reasons, Courtney posted a rant on website Facebook branding her only child “deceptive and deluded”.

She wrote: “I hate to sound cold but any kid of mine who pulls this s**t has lost her position … she was deceptive, she lied and she’s lying to herself.”

While Frances is in her grandmother’s care, she still relies on her mother, who is in full control of Kurt’s estate, for money – which Courtney has also threatened to withhold from her.

Courtney added: “Frances is clearly deluded that can buy her grandmother a small house in LA (sic). I’d love to see how that works. She thinks she has all this money. The point is I have all the money she has.”

Kurt’s brother, Charles Fradenburg, said Wendy has been trying to get custody of 17-year-old Frances for a long time.

He said: “Courtney is not fit to take care of Frances, she can barely take care of herself. Courtney wasn’t doing any parenting at all, she was hiring nannies to do all of the work. This is a wonderful thing for the family.”

The singer posted an angry tirade on her Facebook page after losing custody of the teenager to late husband Kurt Cobain’s mother Wendy O’Connor and sister Kimberly Dawn Cobain.

She wrote: “I hate to sound cold but any kid of mine who pulls this s**t has lost her position … she was deceptive, she lied and she’s lying to herself.”

She also hinted that she would withhold Frances’ money from her as a result of her actions.

She added: “Frances is clearly deluded that can buy her grandmother a small house in LA (sic). I’d love to see how that works. She thinks she has all this money. The point is I have all the money she has.”

However, Courtney did add a positive note to her posting, admitting she doesn’t believe Frances made the decisions herself.

She wrote: “Don’t worry, Frances is a wonderful kid, she’s got bad people around her and wants it both ways.

“You could’ve asked for emancipation… you realise this will put you in juvenile family circus three times in your little life? I love you and always will unconditionally.”

Currently it is not known why Courtney has lost custody, although lawyers have said that it is not because she has had a drug relapse.

A lawyer for Wendy O’Connor and Kimberly Dawn Cobain, Kurt’s sister and mother, would only say the change was a “private family matter.”

Courtney, 45, previously lost custody of Frances to Wendy in 2003 after she took an overdose and was subsequently arrested on drug related charges. She won back custody of Frances in 2005 after a lengthy court battle.

A court hearing over the matter is scheduled to take place in February.

According to court documents, guardianship of Frances Bean Cobain, 17, has been awarded to Wendy O’Connor and Kimberly Dawn Cobain, the respective mother and sister of Frances’ late Nirvana frontman father Kurt Cobain.

The temporary guardianship of 17-year-old Frances was awarded on Friday (11.12.09), and although no reasons for the decision have been released, the change in custody arrangements follows a turbulent period in Courtney’s personal life.

In August, she was pictured looking gaunt and thin, sparking speculation she was using drugs again.

A lawyer for Wendy and Kimberly would only say the change was a “private family matter.”

Courtney’s lawyer Keith Fink – who was not present in court for the hearing – said: “All I can tell you as Courtney’s friend is she loves her daughter more than anything in the world.

“Courtney will no doubt do what is best for Frances and will surely take her teenage daughter’s desires and feelings into consideration with respect to the legal guardian issue.”

Although the guardianship is for both Frances’ personally and her financial well-being, her grandmother and aunt do not have power over the trust established after Kurt’s death.

The rocker – the widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain – went to New York’s famous Scores club earlier this week, but as the male musicians enjoyed the girls’ performances, Courtney reminisced about her own days as an erotic dancer.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: “Courtney brought in a group of guys who all looked like Keith Richards, some of whom were in her band. She was saying she used to be a stripper and appreciated what the girls do. Courtney left in a limousine with a female friend after 45 minutes, leaving the band to enjoy themselves.”

Courtney decided to reform Hole earlier this year.

The wild rocker ditched plans to release a solo album after deciding the tracks for the proposed record were more suited to her old band.

Courtney replaced founding Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson with British musician Micko Larkin – who previously was a member of Larrikin Love – while original bassist Melissa Auf Der Mar will provide backing vocals on the LP, titled ‘Nobody’s Daughter’.
