Ashton Kutcher is not “replacing” Charlie Sheen on ‘Two and a Half Men’

The ‘No Strings Attached’ star took over the leading role in the comedy series following Charlie’s public meltdown and spat with the show’s creator Chuck Lorre, and he admits he has been “lucky” to get the job and hopes he can do as “incredible” a job as the troubled actor.

He said: “I feel like the luckiest guy in the world. It’s always sort of nice to jump on something that’s already moving and successful and people have an appetite for it. It just seemed like the best job in the world.

“Here’s the thing. Charlie was incredible on that show and I can’t, there’s no way I’m going to replace Charlie Sheen. I’m not playing his character. But it’s the same people that have been making people laugh the last eight years are going to keep making people laugh.”

However, the 33-year-old hunk – who is married to actress Demi Moore – admits he was nervous about taking on the role as it meant leaving his film career behind for some time.

Speaking on CBS’ ‘The Early Show’, Ashton said: “I had apprehensions for several reasons. I have a relatively successful film career and I
knew it would shut down that for a minute. “I had a little apprehension about that because, when you have a good thing going, you don’t want to put the pause button in it.”

Ashton Kutcher views his marriage as an “active and evolving bond”

The ‘Two and a Half Men’ actor says his relationship with Demi Moore has grown “deeper” since they tied the knot in 2005 and he and his spouse embrace the changes and challenges that they encounter.

He said: “Our relationship has just grown deeper and more interesting. We love each other and we love the journey we’re taking together and that’s not a cliche.

“We are both actively engaged in each other’s lives and we both find that it’s so beautiful to be able to appreciate each other in new and different ways. We both see marriage as an active and evolving bond between us.”

Ashton – who, at 33, is 15 years younger than Demi – credits his successful marriage to communicating honestly and surprising his wife whenever he can.

He added in an interview with Britain’s OK! magazine: “You have to be very serious about communicating your feelings and just expressing yourself and being open to your partner.

“Demi and I both believe in that kind of philosophy. We also like being romantic and doing special little things for each other, whether it’s coming up with a wild new meal for dinner or suggesting a trip somewhere.

“You don’t want to just sit around and get into some routine where you don’t even realise that you’ve fallen into that kind of thing.”

The 48-year-old actress admits she is a sucker for loving gestures and is always thrilled when her 33-year-old spouse leaves her a note professing his feelings for her at their house or tells her how much she means to him.

In a joint interview with Jennifer Aniston and Alicia Keys for Glamour magazine, she said: “I get giddy when Ashton shows me another way of saying ‘I love you’ – any little thought or gesture that’s playful or sweet. We leave Post-it notes for each other; some have been sticking up for five or six years! For me, it’s the small things.”

‘You Don’t Know My Name’ singer Alicia insists the most important thing for her and her husband Swizz Beatz’s relationship is that they continue to “grow together” as a couple.

The 30-year-old musician – who has a nine-month-old son, Egypt, with the rapper-and-producer – said: “We’re such a bonded happy family, and I hope that we’ll always be able to be that. For me, the most important thing is that we always take the time to understand each other and grow together.”

Jennifer – who is dating Justin Theroux – insisted she couldn’t be in a relationship which didn’t have “equality, generosity, integrity, spirit, kindness and humour. And awesomeness.”

Demi, Jennifer and Alicia were interviewed by the magazine to talk about the short films they each directed for new project ‘Five’ which deal with women who have battled breast cancer.

Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore have thrown a party for the cast and crew of ‘Two and a Half Men’

The 33-year-old actor – who has replaced Charlie Sheen in the sitcom following him being fired from his role as Charlie Harper earlier this year – and his 48-year-old wife pleased everyone by holding the bash in the back room of West Hollywood club Troubadour after Ashton’s first day of shooting wrapped on Friday (05.08.11).

The ‘Punk’d star is also said to have won over his workmates with his positive attitude.

A source told UsMagazine.com: “Ashton and Demi were both cute together and friendly with everyone. Everybody is loving Ashton on the set. He’s really coming off like a cool low maintenance guy, and with everything that went down with Charlie everyone is breathing a sigh of relief.

“He jokes with the crew, has no tantrums, he comes in well studied in his lines – it’s such a nice change. So far there have been no issues and everyone is really happy with how it’s working out. Nobody is missing Charlie right now.”

Ashton will play a broken hearted internet billionaire named Walden Schmidt who will buy Charlie Harper’s luxurious beachfront condominium after a number of buyers – including a selection of celebrity guest stars – view the property.

The first episode will open with Charlie’s funeral.

Ashton Kutcher will play broken hearted internet billionaire Walden Schmidt on ‘Two and a Half Men’

The actor – who replaced Charlie Sheen earlier this year after the star had a spectacular falling out with creator Chuck Lorre – will make his debut in the sitcom’s season nine two-part premiere on September 19.

After revealing the details about Ashton’s character, CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler told TVline.com: “The great news is the show will be as irreverent as it’s always been. There is great value in hiring an actor like Ashton Kutcher. He is extraordinarily professional, talented, gifted actor who comes with a tremendous amount of commitment and enthusiasm.”

However, Nina appeared to rule out an appearance by Charlie in future episodes, adding: “Charlie has moved on to greener pastures. He’s obviously got a lot of opportunity on his plate.”

While there has been no confirmation on how Charlie’s character, Charlie Harper, will leave the show, it is believed the season premiere will feature his funeral.

The lothario is set to be killed off and his funeral attended by a host of former girlfriends, his brother Alan (Jon Cryer) and nephew Jake (Angus T. Jones).

Ashton’s character will then buy Charlie’s luxurious beachfront condominium after a number of buyers – including a selection of celebrity guest stars – view the property but Alan and Jake will remain living there despite Charlie’s death.

‘The Last Airbender’ swept the board at last night’s (26.02.11) Golden Raspberry Awards

After picking up the main unwanted accolade – dubbed the Razzie – of Worst Picture, the 3D movie was also awarded Worst Screenplay, Worst Supporting Actor for Jackson Rathbone’s appearance and Worst Eye-Gouging Misuse of 3D, while director M.Night Shyamalan took home Worst Director.

However, the fantasy film wasn’t the only movie to pick up multiple awards at the 31st Annual Golden Raspberry Awards, which were held at Los Angeles’ Barnsdal Gallery Theatre.

‘Sex and the City 2′ – which was critically panned when it hit cinemas last summer – took home the Razzie for Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel, while its leading ladies Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davies were given the collective nod for Worst Actress and Worst Screen Ensemble.

John Wilson, founder of the awards, said: “It was released in the middle of a period of American history when everyone’s scrounging not to lose their homes.

“And these women are riding around in Rolls-Royces, buying expensive shoes and just throwing money around like they’re drunk.”

Elsewhere, Ashton Kutcher picked up the award for Worst Actor in recognition of his roles in ‘Killers’ and romantic comedy ‘Valentine’s Day’, while Jessica Alba took home Worst Supporting Actress for quadruple blunders in ‘Little Fockers’, ‘Machete’, ‘Valentine’s Day’ and ‘The Killer Inside Me‘.

Despite the embrace, it has been claimed that Miley and Avan are not dating.

A source told People: “They’re just hanging out. She’s still single. They have just hung out together a few times and are getting to know each other – that’s really it right now.”

The Hollywood stars were voted into the top spot after UK couples were asked which celebrities their partners would let them sleep with without classing it as cheating, known as a ‘list’.

Joining Brad on the ‘allowed’ list for women were ‘Alice in Wonderland’ actor Johnny Depp, ‘300’ star Gerard Butler, soccer ace David Beckham and ‘Twilight Saga’ hunk Robert Pattinson.

Male respondents opted for Brad’s ex-wife Jennifer Aniston and his current partner Angelina Jolie, who were named second and fifth respectively, with Beyonce Knowles and Jessica Alba taking third and fourth place respectively.

Mark Pearson, Managing Director of Groupola.com, which conducted the survey of 1,198 couples, said: “I think that having a ‘list’ in a relationship is fine, as long as they are taken in jest and feelings aren’t hurt.

Lady Gaga has become the “queen of twitter” – with more followers than anyone else

The ‘Alejandro’ singer has overtaken Britney Spears by 34,000 followers after attracting a staggering 5,735,554 people to her page compared to 5,701,236.

Gaga has now posted a video link on her twitter account thanking fans for making her the most popular person on the micro-blogging site.

Addressing her fans as her “little monsters”, the pop star – who appears in a makeshift crown with a twitter logo on it and waves a magic wand in the video – says: “Hello world, this is Lady Gaga, queen of twitter. I wanted to thank all my beautiful little monsters for following me. Thank you for beginning my reign as twitter queen. I vow to always tweet and tweet again.”

The piece was shot backstage at a concert in Tacoma, Washington. The 24-year-old singer is currently on the North American leg of her ‘Monster Ball Tour’

Gaga currently picks up new followers on twitter at an average of around 171,000 a week, according to website famecount.com which analysed the data.

Although she is the most followed star on twitter, she is not the fastest growing; that title goes to teen pop sensation Justin Bieber, who is amassing an average 800,000 new followers each month.

Robert Pattinson has been named the world’s sexiest man

The ‘Twilight‘ hunk has topped Glamour’s 50 Sexiest Men poll for the second year running, after fighting off stiff competition from other actors starring in vampire-based productions.

The top five was dominated by ‘Twilight’ actors, with 18-year-old Taylor Lautner – who plays Jacob Black, the werewolf love rival to Robert’s character Edward Cullen in the hit film franchise –in second place, and Xavier Samuel and Kellan Lutz placed fourth and fifth respectively.

The hunky trio were rivalled by ‘The Vampire Diaries’ star Ian Somerhalder, who was voted third in the survey, proving that women can’t get enough of men with fangs.

Glamour’s acting editor Charlotte Duck said: “Women are attracted to vampires because of the element of danger that comes with them. They are the ultimate bad boys – and women want to tame the beasts.”

The list – which was compiled from over 50,000 votes by readers of Glamour.com – also included many shocks, with many attractive stars being placed further down the list than in previous years.

Johnny Depp dropped from second place to sixth, while soccer star David Beckham slipped from fourth down to 21st.

Hollywood legend George Clooney only reached position 35 on the list, while Leonardo DiCaprio, Keanu Reeves and Jude Law- who have scored highly in the survey in recent years – did not even feature.

The ‘Twilight Saga’ dominated the Teen Choice Awards last night (08.08.10) picking up an incredible haul of 11 prizes.

The vampire romance franchise won a total of 11 prizes at the ceremony, which was held at Los Angeles’ Gibson Amphitheater, including Choice Movie: Liplock for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s kiss in ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ and Choice Movie: Chemistry.

Taylor Lautner – who plays werewolf Jacob Black in the films – picked up the Choice Fantasy: Movie Actor and Choice Male: Hottie gongs, while co-stars Robert and Kristen won the Choice Summer Movie Star: Male and Choice Summer Movie Star: Female accolades respectively.

‘Twilight’ was not the only vampire drama to dominate the event, which was hosted by ‘California Gurls’ singer Katy Perry – who underwent several costume changes throughout the night appearing at one point as a prom queen.

Hit series ‘The Vampire Diaries’ scooped seven awards in the television category, including Choice TV Show: Fantasy/Sci-Fi, while the show’s leading couple Paul Wesley and Nina Dobrev won the Choice Actor and Choice Actress statuettes in the TV Fantasy/Sci-Fi category.

Sandra Bullock won the Choice Movie Actress: Drama award for her performance in ‘The Blind Side’, the role which also won her the Best Actress Oscar.

Kourtney, Khloe and Kim Kardashian were also on hand to accept the Choice TV: Reality Show accolade for their series ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’.

Kim tweeted after the event: “So much fun at the Teen Choice Awards tonight! I told Megan Fox she is the most gorgeous woman alive. (sic)”

Ashton Kutcher snubbed Demi Moore when they first met.

The ‘Ghost’ actress admits she took a shine to her future husband as soon as she saw him at a party in 2003 but claims the actor had his sights set on someone else.

She said: “The first night I met him he didn’t have two words to say to me – he had a singular focus and it was on somebody else.”

However, Demi – who, at 47, is 15 years Ashton’s senior – says her fortunes changed two weeks later after she ended up at a party in Ashton’s hotel room.

Demi – who has three daughters, Rumer, Scout and Tallulah, with ex-husband Bruce Willis – says she left the suite to phone her children, which won Ashton over.

She added on US TV show ‘Live with Regis and Kelly’: “All of a sudden the door to the hotel opened and he said, ‘That is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard,’ and closed the door. And I said, ‘OK, this is somebody different.’ ”

The pair then got to know each other through a series of text messages and Demi believes it provided them with the foundations for a great marriage.

She added: “And now we’ve been together seven years.”

Demi recently revealed how she never thought she could love anyone as much as she loves Ashton.

She said: “My husband is an amazing human being and I’m really almost speechless when I try to describe him. There aren’t words to wrap up the amazing gift we’ve found in each other. I have experienced a love that I truly only imagined. We just fit. The 32-year-old actor, who plays a florist in the movie ‘Valentine’s Day’, admitted he and wife Demi would not be marking the romantic occasion as they are so busy with their charity work.

Speaking at the European premiere of the movie in London’s Leicester Square last night (11.02.10), Ashton told BANG Showbiz: “We don’t really do Valentine’s Day. Demi and I decided the best way we could share our love was to share it with other people. We set up a foundation called the DNA Foundation to help trafficking victims.

“There’s a group in New York that helps these girls off the streets, and get their life going again. So we’re meeting them on Valentine’s Day this year. We’re gonna do something special for them.”

Despite not celebrating the day with his 47-year-old wife, Ashton does think it is a “great opportunity” for others to show affection.

He said: “I don’t think it’s easy for anyone to show emotions. Valentine’s Day is this great opportunity because we go all year long feeling these feelings and having these thoughts in our head and sometimes we feel like we’re sharing them but we really aren’t.

“On Valentines Day we really get to manifest some of those unspoken things.”

The couple – who raise six children together – fought back against rumours they are on the verge of splitting and couldn’t keep their hands off each other at the annual American football championship game at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Ashton Kutcher Knew Demi Moore was ‘The One’ when he realised he could hate her.

The ‘Valentines Day’ star – who married the actress four years ago – believes the key to a lasting relationship is being able to put up with another person’s bad habits and still loving them for their flaws.

He said: “I think one thing sort of defines it which is, it’s not how much you love someone when you love them, but it’s how much you love them when you hate them. It’s when you’re in that moment where you cannot stand what the person you’re with is doing, but you still love them. When things get tough it’s not what you say, it’s about what you do.”

Ashton, 31, also claimed good manners are the key to being a good partner, and says he learned how to treat women properly from a young age.

He explained to Parade.com: “My brother had a heart transplant when he was 13, and my parents were at the hospital a lot so I went and I stayed at a friend’s house. And his mother was this really wonderful, wonderful woman that sort of taught me a bunch of things like table manners and how to treat a woman – pulling out her chair, opening the door for her.

“So while my brother was in the hospital, I basically learned etiquette and how to use it when you’re dating a woman.”

The 47-year-old actress has a vast collection of primate dolls and was thrilled on Sunday (10.01.10) when she found a second-hand Curious George cuddly toy while shopping at a flea market in Pasadena, Los Angeles.

Demi discovered the doll as she looked for bargains at the monthly event with her 15-year-old daughter Tallulah.

Accompanied by a photo of her new acquisition, she wrote on her twitter page: “Just had a flea market adventure w/my baby girl Lulah at the Rose Bowl found another vintage monkey 4my collection! (sic)”

The ‘Ghost’ star’s fascination with monkeys started when she was just a child, and she now has a vast collection.

Monkeys aren’t the only toy Demi collects.

Her husband Ashton Kutcher previously took to his own twitter page to reveal his wife’s obsession with dolls.

The 31-year-old actor told the world Demi has a hoard of 3,000 life-like figurines which disturb him.

Ashton said: “Spent the day going through wifey’s insane doll collection – 3,000 contemporary art dolls all staring at you. I’m gonna to have nightmares. I’m trying to convince the wife to open a doll museum. She also has thousands of Barbies and GI Joes. (sic)”

British screenwriter Simon Monjack will be one of several people questioned as authorities try to determine how the actress died from cardiac arrest on Sunday (20.12.09), aged just 32.

Simon – who reportedly tried to stop the Los Angeles Coroner’s Office from performing an autopsy on Brittany’s body yesterday (21.12.09) – previously said he has been “destroyed” by her passing.

Meanwhile, friends of the couple – who wed in 2007 after a whirlwind romance – have spoken out about their concerns surrounding their relationship and their belief he is riddled with huge debts.

It has been reported a 2006 court judgment for £293,000 was made against him by the prestigious Coutts and Company bank, and it is claimed he was evicted from his New York flat in 2005 after failing to pay £5,000 in rent.

US website Gawker has reported there are two outstanding warrants for his arrest in Virginia for alleged fraud and credit card theft and other media outlets claim he was arrested by customs agents in April 2007 for overstaying his work visa.

Simon said: “Like all businessmen, I have faced many lawsuits. It is a real tragedy that success, greed, envy and celebrity are the motivation for attacking my family and character.”

Meanwhile, ‘Clueless’ director Amy Heckerline has added to speculation Brittany suffered from anorexia – after revealing she felt under pressure to be a “skinny, pretty girl”.

Amy told Scott Feinberg’s AndTheWinnerIs.blog.com: “You know, everybody’s shaking their heads and going ‘drugs,’ of course… She seemed to go through a change, you know, on ‘Clueless.’ Maybe she felt like she was not the, like, skinny, pretty girl, you know?

“And then the next few movies she was thinner, blonde, at MTV Awards and all sorts of things like that, and going out with Eminem and Ashton Kutcher.

“I think she felt the pressure to become a different sort of commodity to survive in show business, and I think it was awful.”

The autopsy on her body was completed yesterday (21.12.09) but results will not be announced until toxicology and neurological tests come back during the next six weeks.

Since her passing, a number of prescription drugs have been confiscated from Brittany’s home.

The late ‘Clueless’ actress’ spouse, British screenwriter Simon Monjack, has spoken out about his beloved wife – who died of a cardiac arrest at her Los Angeles home aged just 32 on Sunday (20.12.09) – and his devastation at her passing.

He said: “My world was destroyed yesterday.”

Simon also revealed life had been normal for the pair until she was found collapsed in the shower surrounded by her own vomit, although Brittany had been suffering from a sore throat recently.

Recalling how her lifeless body was discovered, he explained to ‘Access Hollywood’: “Her mother Sharon went into the bathroom because she had been in there a long time. Her mom screamed for me and I ran. Then I called 911.

“She had laryngitis. She had been tired at the end of the year. She had made a couple of movies.”

Simon has also denied rumours Brittany had been mixing with “controlling” people.

He explained: “I don’t know why anyone would think that. She found love. We found love. Brittany didn’t get to where Brittany was with anyone controlling her… Brittany was Brittany.”

Simon also praised his wife’s ex-boyfriend Ashton Kutcher’s moving tribute to the actress.

He added: “I loved what Ashton Kutcher wrote on twitter. It was comforting to me. I couldn’t have said it better.”

Ashton had previously written: “2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine. My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany’s family, her husband, and her amazing mother Sharon. see you on the other side kid.”

Following the actress’ death, it was reported Simon didn’t want Brittany to have an autopsy – which was completed yesterday (21.12.09).

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office is waiting for the results of toxicology tests before they release the autopsy report.

Yesterday (21.12.09), Los Angeles chief coroner Ed Winter – who investigated into the death of pop star Michael Jackson – insisted the autopsy concluded her passing was not caused by drugs.

The toxicology and neurological results are expected to take up to six weeks to come back.

In notes written by the Investigator Blacklock from the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office, Brittany’s bedroom was filled with “large amounts” of tablets and empty pill packets.

The document stated: “A check of the nightstands revealed large amounts of prescription medication in the decedent’s name. Also noted were numerous empty prescription medication bottles in the decedent’s husband’s name, the decedent’s mother’s name and unidentified third party names.”

The ‘Valentine’s Day’ star and his wife were at the after-party for Broadway’s ‘24 Hour Plays’ – where Ashton had been performing alongside Eva Mendes – but the mood turned sour when a fellow guest started to mock the couple’s relationship.

A source told gossip blogger Perez Hilton: “Demi and Jennifer Aniston were happily sitting together in the VIP area when this guy starting really obviously making fun of Demi and things like her relationship with a younger man.
