The ‘Changeling’ actress treated her ten-year-old adopted child to a trip up in the air with her as she flew a small plane from Blackbushe Airport in Surrey, Southern England.

Dressed in a black jacket and aviator sunglasses Angelina certainly looked the part as she got into the cockpit with an instructor, while Maddox rode in the back seat.

The 36-year-old star has held her pilot’s licence since 2005 and regularly goes flying. Maddox looked happy as he got in the plane and took his iPad device with him, either as a distraction for if he got bored or to battle nerves. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have hired former SAS guards to protect their home in the South of France

The couple – who raise six kids, Maddox, 10, Pax, seven, Zahara, six, Shiloh, five, and three-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne together – have enlisted the services of the ex-members of Special Air Service unit and have also installed a £150 million state-of-the-art security system after learning organised crime gangs from Russia and Italy are targeting rich foreigners in the area.

An insider told The Sun newspaper: “Brad has hired a crack team of ex-SAS guys to protect them and they watch over the property like hawks around the clock.

“They can see what is happening as all the cameras hooked up to the TV screens have movement sensors. They work via wi-fi so can’t be disarmed.”

The property – which boasts his-and-hers gyms, a Jacuzzi, sauna, billiards room and a huge banqueting suite – now is said to look like “something out of a James Bond movie” after being kitted out with fingerprint recognition gadgets.

The source added to The Sun newspaper: “There’s even fingerprint recognition to go from certain parts of the house to the next. Every inch is covered. It’s like something out of a James Bond movie.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are selling their Californian mansion for $13.75 million

The Hollywood couple – who have six children, Maddox, 10, Pax, seven, Zahara, six, Shiloh, five, and three-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne – have decided to put the sprawling property, which has views of the Pacific Ocean, up for sale after making huge renovations to it.

The home is split in two, and despite the huge asking price it only has four bedrooms and four bathrooms.

It also features a swimming pool, a tennis court, expansive gardens and a walk in fridge and freezer.

The couple added an extra floor to the house designed by Christopher R. Sorenson and created a heated lap pool in recent years.

It is one of a number of homes owned by the pair – who are currently in Scotland while Brad shoots zombie movie ‘World War Z’ – with a town house in the French Quarter of New Orleans and an estate in the Valpolicella region of Northern Italy also in their portfolio.

Brad purchase the 1962-built property after his split from Jennifer Aniston in 2005, and briefly put it up for sale in 2009 for $18 million, but it failed to sell.

Angelina Jolie was inspired to adopt by her role in ‘Lara Croft: Tomb Raider’

The actress played a daredevil archaeologist – based on the character from the popular ‘Tomb Raider’ video game series – in the 2001 movie and she has revealed it was the scenes she shot in Cambodia which convinced her to adopt her first child, son Maddox, from the Asian country.

She said: “A turning point in my life came when I made ‘Lara Croft: Tomb Raider’, in England. It also involved filming, partly, in Cambodia. I learned that the world is bigger than I thought it was and there were more important things than a film. I did not know much about Cambodia. I did not appreciate how beautiful it was and I had never met such open-hearted people.”

Angelina – who went on to adopt two more children, son Pax from Vietnam and daughter Zahara from Ethiopia – also credits the film with helping her turn her back on her hard-partying behaviour and live a healthier lifestyle.

She explained: “That film also helped me get in to shape. I smoked a lot, drank far too much, had way too much coffee and suffered from insomnia. The fitness coaches on ‘Lara Croft’ adjusted me. I had a certain amount of water, protein checks, vitamins, my cigarettes were taken away and I was not allowed to drink alcohol. As for that role, I was loud and insane. I had too much fire for everyday life, so fitted into Lara Croft’s world perfectly.”

Although Angelina had to fight robots and dodge booby traps in the adventure movie, the 36-year-old actress insists being a parent to Maddox, now 10, and his five siblings, Pax, seven, Shiloh, five, Zahara, six, and three-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, is harder than being a Hollywood hero.

She said: “Once I became a mom, I realised it was far harder than being Lara Croft. I want my kids to appreciate how fortunate they are in life, compared with so many people who have nothing.

“If anybody ever tells me that I am a mother to them like my mom (Marcheline Bertrand) was to me, it will be a great compliment.”

Angelina Jolie treated her six children to afternoon of painting yesterday (09.08.11)

The Oscar-winning actress is currently staying in Richmond, south west London, as partner Brad Pitt films new movie ‘World War Z’, so she decided to take her brood – Maddox, 10, Pax, seven, Zahara, six, and Shiloh, five, and three-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne – to Pottery Cafe, where they all got to decorate their own crockery.

The cafe currently has a ‘Pirates and Princesses’ theme – to coincide with the British school summer holidays – and Knox and Vivienne really got into the swing of things by dressing up as a pirate and princess respectively.

A spokesperson at the Pottery Cafe’s Richmond branch told website MailOnline: “They all had a lovely afternoon of painting, and we hope to see them again soon!”

Meanwhile, as his family were enjoying a day out in Richmond, Brad stunned a local bakery shop in Cornwall, South West England, by ordering 700 Cornish pasties.

The handsome star is currently filming in the seaside resort of Falmouth and wanted to treat the actors and crew on the set of the movie so requested the massive order at Rowe’s Cornish Bakers.

Marketing boss Paul Pearce told the Daily Express newspaper: “I knew Brad Pitt was filming in the area but initially I thought, ‘This has got to be a wind up.’

“But as the conversation went on I realised the request was genuine and we set about it. It was a bit of a mad rush.”

Angelina was also accompanied by several other unidentified children and nannies for her brood to the alley. A source told Usmagazine.com: “They had a lots of fun and played for the entire two hours, laughing and giggling.” While Brad is filming ‘World War Z’ – a zombie movie – his family have been staying in a rented $11 million mansion in the town if Qrendi on the island, located off the coast of Italy.

Earlier in the week, the whole family visited the Mediterraneo Bio Park for a day out. The unnamed woman – who worked as a bilingual secretary at their Miraval chateau in the South of France – was dismissed by a manager at the estate while on sick leave on the grounds her absence impacted on the running of the property and is seeking 80,000 Euros in compensation for unfair dismissal.

Lawyer Emmanuel Ludot said: “It’s a drop in the ocean for these stars.

“She has nothing against them personally and says she was always treated well. But they did not step in to prevent her being dismissed.

“Mr. Brad Pitt, who is also famous for his charity work and adoption of children, should understand that my client needs compensation as soon as possible, and that she’s not asking for millions, just a fair amount for unfair dismissal.

“We hope they will both be faithful to their reputation for humanitarian causes.”

The woman has remained anonymous due to confidentiality clauses in the contract she signed before being employed.

Brad Pitt treated his children to some Easter treats at a film screening this weekend

On Sunday (03.04.11) the actor took Maddox, nine, Pax, seven, Zahara, six, and four-year-old Shiloh to see animated movie ‘Hop’ at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles, where they also indulged in some delicious treats and took part in an Easter egg hunt.

With their mother Angelina Jolie and two younger siblings Knox and Vivienne absent from the family occasion, the children made the most of their sweet tooths but also made sure to take home some treats for the two-year-old twins.

An eyewitness told E!: “Each child walked away with A.sweeT.Boutique’s chocolate-covered pretzel rods, gummy butterflies, gummy cherries and jelly beans.

“The kids were so cute, polite and shy. Brad had to help them do the ordering of what they wanted in their little goody bags. They also made sure to take home some candy sticks for their siblings who weren’t there.”

Another source told the Los Angeles Times newspaper: “The kids participated in the hunt and everyone looked like they were having a great time. They stayed for pretty much the whole event.”

The film’s stars James Marsden, Adam Sandler and Elizabeth Perkins were also at the event, which was put on to benefit EBMRF – an organization that Brad has supported for a long time and is dedicated to researching and curing skin diseases that affect children.

Other stars who have featured in the series include Sarah Palin, Oprah Winfrey and Hillary Clinton, and the new comic book focuses on Angelina as she experiences the ups and down of her acting career, motherhood and humanitarian work.

Brent Sprecher, who wrote the comic, revealed he wanted to draw attention away from the ‘Salt’ star’s celebrity persona so people would remember her good deeds.

He said:” I learned a great deal about her struggles and triumphs as an actress, mother and humanitarian.

“Often painted as an edgy, slightly dangerous movie star, what is often not revealed about Ms. Jolie is her tireless commitment to charity work and her dedication to the plight of refugees around the world as a Goodwill Ambassador with the United Nations.”

The writer added that it was his wish that young women across the world would take inspiration from Angelina’s story.

He said: “My hope is that this biography, in some small way, inspires others to follow Angelina Jolie’s example and make helping those in need a part of their daily lives.”

Robert told the Daily Mail newspaper: “I can’t tell you what it says, and you would need a microscope to read it. The technology is quite new. The hidden message is lasered on.”

Angelina, 35, has worked with Robert, a former chief executive of upmarket jeweller Aspreys, for 10 years and the pair are even planning to go into business, designing a range called ‘The Style Of Jolie’ together.

Speaking about how the line will look, Robert has said: “Angelina has very classic style. These are pieces she wears herself.”

Pieces from the collection will be sold privately through the designer’s network of clients, with all proceeds going to charity the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict

Last year, Angelina teamed up with Brad to create a gold and silver collection for Asprey, with all profits donated to the same charity, which was co-founded by Angelina.

The capsule collection, entitled The Protector, included baby gifts such as egg cups and silver spoons, and was inspired by snakes.

Speaking about the charity, Angelina said: “These are the children who most need a safe place to learn, a place to heal, a place to learn reconciliation, a place to build a better future and a place – to just be children. Yet the education for these children is often forgotten. Tens of millions of children and adolescents in conflict are not in school.”

Compiled by the Los Angeles Times Magazine, the Oscar-winning actress landed the number five spot thanks to her role as a Bond girl in ‘Die Another Day‘, closely followed by new mother Penelope Cruz – who gave birth to her first child with Javier Bardem last month – in 11th place.

With the likes of Jennifer Connelly, Kim Basinger and Anne Hathaway all making the top 20, the trio were joined by Hollywood legends Farrah Fawcett, Ava Gardner and Faye Dunaway, while Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe were voted in at number 22 and 32 respectively.

Angelina Jolie is reportedly set to adopt a fourth child

The ‘Tourist’ actress wants to open up her and partner Brad Pitt’s home to a four-year-old girl called Leah who lost her entire family in the earthquake that devastated Haiti in 2010.

Angelina – who already has three adopted children, Maddox, nine, Pax, seven, and Zahara, six, and naturally conceived Shiloh, four, and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne – first met the child in February 2010, a month after the natural disaster, and the child is expected to go visit her and Brad and their other children before the adoption is authorised in the latter stages of this year.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Angelina’s lawyers are in the process of getting an authorisation so Leah can spend some time with her in America. That’s standard procedure, basically they need to make sure Leah will adapt well.

“A lot of observers from groups such as the Red Cross are ensuring that Angelina is treated like anybody else and not fast tracked, which would be viewed insidiously.”

There are worries adoption authorities in the small Caribbean nation may not be able to cope with the massive interest in Angelina’s plans, but the 35-year-old screen star determined to get through the “final steps” to adopt Leah.

The source added: “There is also a concern about the Haitian authorities not being able to deal with such international pressure. But for now, Angelina is almost reaching the final steps of the gruelling adoption process.

“If Leah fits well within her family in the States, she will be able to adopt her.”

Johnny Depp has splashed out on an £8.5 million home in Venice after falling in love with the city during filming last year

The 47-year-old actor spent several months in the Italian city with his family while shooting ‘The Tourist’ with Angelina Jolie and he was reportedly so besotted with the stunning location, he has bought the 17th century Palazzo Dona Sangiantoffetti.

According to local newspaper La Nuova Venezia, the Hollywood star outbid an Arab prince for the empty building which is one of the only available homes overlooking the famous Grand Canal.

Johnny – who has two children Lily-Rose , 11, and eight-year-old Jack with his French partner Vanessa Paradis – has previously spoken of his love for the city and revealed he loved to explore late at night when the streets were quiet.

He said: “My experience of Venice really happened between 10pm and 2am when the streets closed and I was able to walk around and experience the poetry of Venice, the ghosts of Venice, all those wonderful dark alleys.

“For an actor being able to film within the confines of that magical city certainly helps… The city’s magic shone through completely.”

While the actor and his family spent most of their time at their estate in France, he also owns a home in Hollywood and a 45 acre island in the Bahamas.
