Alexander Skarsgård (born August 25, 1976) is a Swedish actor and director. He is best known for his roles as Eric Northman on HBO’s hit TV show True Blood and Brad Colbert in Generation Kill. Alexander was born in Stockholm, Sweden. He is the son of the famous Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård and his first wife My Skarsgård.

He has acted in several Swedish TV series and movies and served in the Swedish coastal artillery. In 2003 he was nominated for a Guldbagge for male supporting role in the movie Hundtricket – The Movie (English title: The Dog Trick). Alexander revealed to the New York Daily News he used to be an anti-terrorist marine in Sweden.

Since 2005, with his performances in Revelations and The Last Drop, he has taken part in international productions. In 2007 Alexander played one of the main characters, Sgt. Brad Colbert, in the American miniseries Generation Kill. He is an original member of the ensemble cast of HBO’s television drama series True Blood. Skarsgård plays the role of Eric Northman, a 1,000 year old former Viking king, vampire sheriff of Area 5 and local bar owner in Shreveport, LA.

He appeared in the music video for pop singer Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” in 2009. As of 2010, Alexander has three upcoming films in post-production, Metropia, Beyond the Pole, and Straw Dogs, co-starring Kate Bosworth and James Marsden. Straw Dogs is a remake of the 1971 movie of the same name. Filming began in August 2009 and has since wrapped. The film is set to be released in February 2011.

Oksana Gets Clutch Assist from L.A. Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are now part of the fabric of the Mel Gibson/Oksana Grigorieva saga, by delivering a huge solid for Oksana’s son.

Several FOOs — Friends of Oksana — were bummed after hearing Oksana complain she couldn’t afford to buy Alexander a nice gift for his 13th birthday.  Oksana has been saying she’s deep in debt because of her custody war with Mel.

We’re told the FOOs contacted a couple of execs they knew at the Lakers organization and called in a favor … and the Lakers responded.

Days later an enormous gift basket arrived at Oksana’s doorstep — filled with all sorts of Lakers swag for Alexander, including basketballs, jerseys, t-shirts, towels, a picture of the team, a pennant and lots of other stuff.

We’re told Oksana is “grateful.”  We’re guessing the kid is pretty happy, too.

TMZ has learned Oksana Grigorieva claims Mel Gibson grabbed her son and threw him onto a table in a fit of rage, all over a cigarette.  But this may be the only incident where there are other witnesses who can either support Oksana’s claim of abuse or prove she’s lying.

It happened at a party last year.  Sources connected to the case say Oksana’s 12-year-old son, Alexander was playfully jumping up and down, trying to knock a cigarette out of Mel’s mouth.  Oksana claims Mel exploded by grabbing the boy and throwing him violently onto a table.

The issue came up during the mediation in May, when Mel and Oksana were trying to work out a custody arrangement and a financial package.

Sources say Oksana’s people informed Mel’s lawyers of the incident. Mel’s lawyers investigated and came right back, claiming there were “numerous adults and children” who saw the incident and saw it very differently.

Mel’s people claim the witnesses will say it was all just clowning around and Mel did not get physical with Alexander but rather the boy just accidentally fell as he was jumping for Mel’s cigarette.

The reason this incident is so significant in the criminal investigation — it’s not just a “he said, she said.”  That translates into credibility, which is at the core of the case.

Mel Gibson allegedly cheated on ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva while she was pregnant with their daughter.

Porn producer Violet Kowal claims to have had a three-month fling with the ‘Mad Max’ star last year, with the reported romps happening at his Malibu home and office in Santa Monica.

The 26-year-old Polish filmmaker told National Enquirer magazine: “Mel’s break-up with Oksana doesn’t surprise me at all. Clearly, Mel can’t commit to just one woman.”

Violet was also very impressed with 54-year-old Mel’s skills in the bedroom department, saying: “Mel’s great in bed! It was the best sex I’ve ever had!”

Although Mel’s lawyer has branded the story “an absurd fabrication”, Violet is said to have passed a lie detector test.

Oksana gave birth to Lucia last November but she and Mel announced their split just five months later.

While she has refused to give the real reasons behind the break-up, the Russian musician has previously hinted there would be some shocking revelations.

She said: “I can tell you that we have split up, suddenly and recently. Unfortunately, I cannot give you the reason. But you will find out everything quite soon.

“Here is the official version – we split up by mutual consent and we will raise our daughter together. She is currently with my mother in my Los Angeles home.”

Despite initial reports insisting they are still on good terms, it was recently claimed Mel ended their relationship following a huge row after Oksana accused him of cheating.

Mel has seven children with estranged wife Robyn, who filed for divorce last May.

Following the legal proceedings, it emerged the couple had been separated for some time and the actor was in a relationship with Oksana, who has 12-year-old son Alexander with ex-boyfriend Timothy Dalton.

Melanie Griffith’s marriage to Antonio Banderas was “strengthened” by her stay in rehab.

The actress – who spent three months in Utah’s Cirque Lodge rehabilitation centre last summer for preventative treatment – got through the programme with the support of her actor spouse and their family, including their 13-year-old daughter Stella.

Discussing Melanie’s treatment, Antonio said: “The whole family took part, Stella included. I was there three times a week at a stretch, and we participated in group therapy with our daughter. It strengthened our relationship in many ways. We participated very directly, all of us. Melanie’s son and daughter Alexander and Dakota were there, as was her ex-husband Don Johnson’s son Jessie and Melanie’s mother, actress Tippi Hedren, too.

“I just wanted the mother of my children, my wife, to get better. We had no reason to hide anything. At the same time, being open helps people in the same circumstances not to be ashamed.”

Last summer’s visit was the 52-year-old actress’ third stint in rehab, with Melanie previously being treated for addictions to alcohol, cocaine and painkillers.

The visit was a preventative measure taken after she became nervous of using prescription medication to treat a knee injury she sustained in a skiing accident.

Antonio – who wed Melanie in May 1996 – explained to Britain’s Hello! magazine: “That has a very simple explanation. She hasn’t touched alcohol for years. As far as prescription pills go, she had a skiing accident in Aspen – I was there, we were skiing together – and she tore all the ligaments in her knee. She had an operation two hours after the accident, and had two operations over the next year. They had to give her painkillers. For someone who has been an addict, it was like falling into the same hole again, and Melanie was the one who decided to get treatment.

“Melanie said, ‘This isn’t good. When I finish with the rehabilitation for me knee, I’m going straight to Cirque Lodge for 90 days so I can reinforce my determination to stay clean.’ And that’s what she did. But it wasn’t because she was running around popping pills.”

Mel Gibson has split from girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.

The ‘Braveheart’ actor and the Russian singer reportedly “drifted apart” but have pledged to remain friends for the sake of their five-month-old daughter Lucia.

A source told People magazine: “They just drifted apart. They’re both working hard on their careers and trying to raise a sweet baby together. They’re still friends and they’ll both raise Lucia together.”

Despite reports insisting they are still on good terms, it has also been claimed 54-year-old Mel ended their relationship following a huge row.

According to National Enquirer magazine, 40-year-old Oksana accused her partner of “cheating” and “lashed out” over his reluctance to marry.

A source said: “After the row Mel told Oksana it was over.”

Mel has previously admitted he didn’t intend to marry the brunette beauty.

He said recently: “She’d make anyone a wonderful wife, but for the moment, she’s a mother.

The ‘Taking Woodstock’ actor has joked he is envious of his partner of four years, Naomi Watts – who he two children with  – because she dresses up in glamorous outfits when she appears on the big screen.

The 42-year-old star is currently rehearsing for ‘A View from the Bridge’ Broadway show, where he will star alongside Scarlett Johansson – who is married to Ryan Reynolds.

When asked if it is awkward to be busier than their partners, Scarlett quipped: “I don’t think Naomi is going for the same roles as Liev!”

When Liev confessed to wanting “a couple of roles she’s played,” Scarlett jokingly suggested it was so he could “wear the heels and the jewellery.”

Liev confirmed: “Yeah!”

While he longs for a more feminine role, the actor-and-director feels there is no time for jealousy now he is a father to two-year-old Alexander and Samuel, one.

He told America’s Time Out magazine: “Kids make a big difference. You want to be there all the time, and when you’re both working, it’s hard. You gotta negotiate with each other and support each other in that regard.

“I think it’s harder when both of you are really busy. Like in any profession, it’s difficult. You want to make sure you have time to invest in your family. It’s a challenge but it’s worth it.”

The actor – whose girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva gave birth to Lucia Anne on October 30 – has been praised for his excellent parenting skills despite only spending three days with his newborn because of work commitments.

Oksana revealed: “Mel’s very hands-on. He was amazing while he was here for a short visit. He has been very doting and nurturing. He is incredible with children, very kind.

“He’s an amazing person and he treats everybody equally. That’s what I know. I know him as a very kind and generous person, embracing his friends and family. He’s tremendous as a dad, unbelievable.

“He’s ecstatic. He is very much in love with her already. She just wins people’s hearts, she’s so beautiful and tiny.”

The 53-year-old actor was forced to take a break from his upcoming film ‘The Beaver’ as he rushed to Los Angeles to be at Oksana’s hospital side when she went into labour a month early.

Although he missed the birth, he arrived a few hours later and spent three days with his new family before returning to the film set last Monday (02.11.09).

Oksana explained to Britain’s Hello! magazine: “I was at home then I got rushed into hospital and, eight hours later, I could look at her beautiful face. Mel came just a few hours later because he had to fly from New York.”

Russian singer Oksana also admitted their new arrival hadn’t affected their romantic relationship.

She added: “We’ve always been very spiritually connected and emotionally, too. We’ve always been very close.

“Having children is an overwhelming feeling, beautiful.”

The ‘Braveheart’ star already has six sons and a daughter with former wife Robyn – who filed for divorce in April this year after 28 years of marriage – while Oskana has a 12-year-old son Alexander with actor Timothy Dalton.
