‘Star Wars’ creator George Lucas believes the world will end in 2012

The 66-year-old filmmaker revealed his apocalypse theory to Seth Rogen during a meeting.

And the ‘Green Hornet’ actor insists Lucas has faith in his prediction.

Rogen is quoted by the Toronto Sun newspaper as saying: “George Lucas sits down and seriously proceeds to talk for around 25 minutes about how he thinks the world is gonna end in the year 2012. Like, for real. He thinks it.”

As well as Rogen and Lucas, Oscar-winning director Steven Spielberg – who created the ‘Indiana Jones’ films with Lucas – was also present at the meeting but is less convinced by his friend’s claims.

Rogen added: “George is going on about the tectonic plates and all the time Spielberg is, like, rolling his eyes, like, ‘My nerdy friend won’t shut up, I’m sorry.’

“I first thought George was joking … and then I totally realised he was serious and then I started thinking, ’If you’re George Lucas and you actually think the world is gonna end in a year, there’s no way you haven’t built a spaceship for yourself … So I asked him … ’Can I have a seat on it?’ He claimed he didn’t have a spaceship, but there’s no doubt there’s a Millennium Falcon in a garage somewhere with a pilot just waiting to go … It’s gonna be him and Steven Spielberg and I’ll be blown up like the rest of us.”

There is a possibility  for the “New Moon” star Vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson)  or Kristen Stewart to take away the best performer of the year on the British National Movie Awards.

According to the official website of the British National Movie Awards, this event will be held on 26th May 2010 and will be aired on ITV1.

The six different categories for the British National Movie Awards 2010  are as follows:

2. Family Movie
3. Fantasy Movie
4. Most Anticipated Summer Movie
5. Breakthrough Movie
6. Performance of the Year

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are nominated for the Performance of the Year Awards, but surprisingly Taylor Lautner is also nominated in the same category for the same film Twilight Saga: New Moon.

It seems a very tough competition for Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and co-star Taylor Lautner for the award of Best Performer of the Year. British National Movie Awards is based on votes from the public, who make their choices online and on the phone.

The ‘2012’ actress and her husband David Benioff already have a two-year-old daughter Frances Penn and will welcome the next addition to their family in the middle of next year.

Amanda – who married screenwriter David three years ago – has previously admitted motherhood was not what she expected.

She said: “One surprise of motherhood for me was how little control I have. I thought it would be an extended, blissful romance with me at the helm, cuddling this little creature to life. It’s been bittersweet and humbling to let her lead, and to try not to be perfect myself.”

Shortly after Frances’ birth, Amanda, 37, revealed David wanted two more children but she was happy to stick with just having just one more.

Amanda – who recently signed up to make a guest appearance on hit US comedy ‘How I Met Your Mother’ – said: “He wants three but I’m old, I’m an old lady. Two is enough.”

The ‘2012’ actress – who plays the US president’s daughter in the big-budget blockbuster – was mainly kept out of the action adventures in the disaster epic, but became overwhelmed during the frantic scenes she was involved in.

She said: “The only really big action scenes I was involved in were two water sequences – one where I’m in a corridor and this huge tidal wave comes bursting down towards us. It was amazing but I forgot to act because gallons of water were rushing down from floor to ceiling towards me.

“The director had to shout ‘cut’ and all the water went down. I don’t even know where it drained to. Then 10 minutes later we did it again and the water comes rushing round the corner, blasting down the set.”

Although she enjoyed working on the movie, the 37-year-old star admits it left her drained.

She added to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “On ‘2012’ when I’d finished a scene I’d go back to my trailer and just collapse. There were huge sets, lots of cameras and it was kind of exhausting.”

The ‘Crash’ actress – who has two daughters, eight-year-old Ripley and Nico, four, with her husband, writer Ol Parker – has strong friendships with her male pals because she never tries to manipulate them with her sexuality.

The 37-year-old star said: “I’ve never dated an actor, just had the odd fling. Isn’t that weird? I don’t flirt with people – a long time ago, I stopped using my sexuality to have a relationship with people.

“I don’t really think you get a sense of me, sexually, and that’s why I have really great relationships with straight men.”

Although she has never had a relationship with a co-star, Thandie admitted she has a crush on John Cusack, who also appears in her new movie ‘2012′.

She added: “He’s so sweet! Remember ‘Say Anything’ and the scene where he’s holding up the stereo? John is smart; he’s got great integrity and he’s got that look. Like he would know what to do with you. He’s a very sexy man. Even my mum was like, ‘Ooh yes!’ ”
