Stephen Moyer — “It’s funny”

by Abbey on Dec.06, 2010, under Actor

Stephen MoyerStephen Moyer would like to model himself on actors who are “grizzly old f***ers”

The ‘True Blood’ hunk was recently left star struck when he met ‘Crazy Heart’ actor Jeff Bridges because he aspires to have a career like the veteran actor and other legendary stars including Clint Eastwood and musician Tom Waits.

When asked who he admires, British actor Stephen replied: “Jeff Bridges, Clint Eastwood and Tom Waits – grizzly old f***ers. I met Jeff Bridges at a movie convention. I said, ‘Oh my God, I love you so much!’ and he said, ‘And I love you.’ He can’t have had a clue who I was.”

Despite becoming an A-list star through appearing in ‘True Blood’, Stephen – who is married to his co-star Anna Paquin – still has to deal with the same sort of problems as anyone else, in particular people mistakenly dialling his phone number.

He added: “My mobile phone number is almost identical to that of a party supplies company in Venice, Los Angeles, so I get phone calls asking me for things like balloon helium.”

However, the actor is hopeful the company will eventually go out of business and he will have no need to change his number.

He told Britain’s Marie Claire magazine: “I’ve lived here for five years, it’s my number! It’s funny because I also know when the company’s not doing very well – occasionally I get calls from the bank.”

Ryan Reynolds — Sexiest Man Alive

by Lisa on Nov.17, 2010, under Actor, Entertainment

Ryan Reynolds has been named the Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine

The ‘Proposal’ actor – who is married to actress Scarlett Johansson, who was named Babe of the Year by GQ magazine this week – was awarded the title by the publication in their annual list and, although he expects to be teased by his family about the accolade, he is hoping to boast about the title to strangers.

He said: “You just have to go with the flow. This gives my family entre into teasing me for the rest of my life.

“Now it’s going to be, ‘Sexiest man, take out the garbage.’ That does sound better. The most difficult part is going to be organically working this title into a conversation with random strangers.”

While Ryan has been named Sexiest Man Alive, he admits he has to work hard to maintain his toned physique.

He joked to People: “My body naturally wants to look like Dick Van Dyke. When I stop training, I turn into a skin-coloured whisper.”

Other stars to feature in the list include ‘Mad Men’ actor John Hamm, ‘Twilight Saga’ hunk Kellan Lutz, actor-turned-rapper Drake and ‘Glee’ star Matthew Morrison, who made up the top five.

Making up the rest of the top 10 were Jon Bon Jovi, ‘True Blood’ star Joe Manganiello, Robert Downey Jr. and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Jesse Williams.

Meanwhile, the publication also ran a poll on social networking website Facebook, where fans voted Vin Diesel – who placed eleventh in the magazine’s own list – as their Sexiest Man Alive.

The 43-year-old actor took the title over Jersey Shore’s Paul ‘Pauly D’ DelVecchio and Enrique Iglesias, who polled second and third place respectively.

People will publish its full list of the Sexiest Men Alive in their next issue which hits newsstands on Friday (19.11.10).

What Alexander Skarsgard Says On His ‘True Blood’ Character?

by Alice on Aug.14, 2010, under Actor

Alexander Skarsgard bases his ‘True Blood’ character on a lion

The Swedish actor – who plays vampire Eric Northman in the hit US drama – studied the jungle creature intently in order to figure out how best to portray someone with hidden menace behind their charm.

He said: “I wanted to underplay it a bit and make it real. At the same time, I try to find that animalistic quality, and the element of danger.

“I was fascinated by the male lion on a documentary, the way he moved, the confidence. When he just sat down and looked straight at the cameraman, he did absolutely nothing, but for a second you didn’t know whether he was going to yawn and fall asleep or pounce.

“I thought it would be interesting to try to find that. You don’t show your teeth, you don’t say anything, you don’t show it. It’s the not knowing that’s interesting. Anything could happen.”

Alexander loves working on the show, but admits he is unsure how long he can continue with the role – unless he has cosmetic surgery to appear younger.

He said: “Well I don’t know how many years. I’m not supposed to age, so we might have a bit of a problem when I’m 55 and still playing Eric, it might get kind of pathetic.

“We still have a couple of years. I do live in Los Angeles, so I can cheat with Botox and plastic surgery. That was a joke, by the way.”
