David Beckham is learning to be more “delicate” with his newborn daughter

The soccer star and fashion designer wife Victoria – who already have three sons, Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, eight and six-year-old Cruz together – welcomed little Harper Seven into the world on Sunday (10.07.11) and he admits having a girl is different to having boys.

In a video on his Facebook page, he said: “To have another girl in the family is really incredible. We’ve got three beautiful, healthy boys already and we’re so lucky to have that and now to have a beautiful little girl, it’s amazing.

“Having a daughter is a whole new thing. Having pink in the house and lilac in the house. And you have to be a lot more delicate with girls than with boys and I’m not used to that so it’s a whole new experience but it’s an amazing experience. To have that little bundle of joy and your hands and her making her little noises and opening her eyes – it really is an incredible moment for us.”

The British athlete – who wore the number seven on the back of his shirt for many years – also spoke about the reasons behind Harper’s name.

He said: “A lot of thought goes into our children’s names and Harper was a name we’ve loved for a long time for a couple of reasons.

“One is them was because Harper is an old English name which we loved and one of the other reasons is because Victoria’s favourite book is ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ and the author was Harper Lee. And it’s a very strong passionate book so that’s where Harper came from.

“And Seven is partly because of the shirt number I wore for many years because I had so much luck around wearing that number and it was such an influential number throughout my career and a lucky number but that wasn’t the main reason. The reason behind Seven is that it symbolises spiritual perfection and is a lucky number around the world. We love the name. We love Harper Seven and we’re very proud of having her in our family.”

NFL Player Allegedly DESTROYS Ex’s Apartment

Atlanta Falcons cornerback Christopher Owens is under investigation in Georgia for allegedly smashing up his baby mama’s apartment and dousing her most valuable possessions in bleach … TMZ has learned.

Cops in Gwinnett County responded to the apartment Sunday night … after Owens’ ex-GF, LaTia Terry, claimed the NFL player entered the pad when she and their 9-month-old kid were out of the home … and trashed the place. Sources connected to the incident tell us the two had a heated argument over their custody arrangement the night before.

According to the police report, obtained by TMZ, LaTia says 24-year-old Owens — a 3rd round pick in the 2009 draft — smashed holes in the wall, destroyed expensive electronics and even broke the baby’s crib.

But worst of all, Owens allegedly grabbed handfuls of LaTia’s valuable jewelry, designer clothes and pictures of the the former couple … threw it all in a pile … and drenched it with bleach — ruining everything.

LaTia claims she lost several pairs of fancy $1,200 shoes in the bleaching … and estimates her total loss to be around $15,000.

LaTia has obtained a restraining order against Owens — but so far, he has not been charged with a crime.

Calls to Owens have not been returned.

UFC Hall of Famer — Cleared In Alleged Bar Fight

UFC legend Matt Hughes has dodged a major bullet — TMZ has learned the champ will not be charged with a crime for allegedly breaking a woman’s nose during an incident at an Illinois bar back in April.

TMZ spoke with the Illinois State’s Attorney … who told us there was not enough evidence to prove the fighter committed a battery when he allegedly shoved another man into a female bystander at the Trails End Bar and Grill in Taylor Springs, IL.

TMZ broke the story … the female bystander blamed Hughes for the injury she suffered during the alleged scuffle.

Kentucky Derby Champ — Horsing Around at Day Spa

The horse that won the Kentucky Derby last weekend is kicking back IN STYLE — in fact, we’re told, the thoroughbred will undergo a special daily spa treatment to help it gear up for the next big race.

The horse’s trainer Graham Motion tells TMZ, now that Animal Kingdom is a champion — he’ll start daily saltwater spa treatments to help aid muscle recovery after the race.

The 25-minute process includes submerging the horse up to its knees in cold saltwater — and Graham insists … it feels wonderful … for the horse anyway.

But that’s not all — Graham says AK’s bed is getting a makeover too … telling us, the entire stable will be packed with “a lot more straw for a very cushy bed” to maximize comfort before AK’s next big race.

Brandon Marshall 911 — ‘It’s An Emergency’

TMZ has obtained a copy of the 911 call made moments after NFL superstar Brandon Marshall had been stabbed at his Florida home Friday afternoon.

The female who called 911 never identifies herself … or reveals why she is calling … she merely tells the 911 operator, “Please come, it’s an emergency” … and then hangs up.

The 911 operator calls back … but no one answers the phone.

Cops eventually sent emergency vehicles to the home … and the Miami Dolphins receiver was treated for a stab wound to the stomach.

As we previously reported, Marshall’s wife — Michi Nogami-Marshall — was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon … and she later told police she acted in self-defense.

Frank McCourt: I Won’t Sue Till Bud Makes His Move

Sources connected with Frank McCourt tell TMZ … Frank and his lawyers have decided to sit back and wait … to see who MLB Commissioner Bud Selig chooses to oversee the day-to-day operation of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Our sources say the person Selig picks will not run the operation, but rather will have a VETO over decisions Frank and the rest of the management team make.

As TMZ first reported … Frank’s lawyers are preparing legal documents that would challenge Selig’s move earlier this week — claiming it’s “arbitrary and capricious.”

Our sources say nothing will be filed before Selig names the monitor. We’re told if it’s someone who has been “sympathetic” to the team and Frank, they probably will not challenge the decision — at least not immediately.

If, however, the person Selig chooses is not friendly — or, as it was put to TMZ, “a saboteur” — Frank’s lawyers will go to court immediately.

We’re told Frank and his team have no idea who Selig will select, but some of the names bandied about include Tommy Lasorda, Peter O’Malley and Joe Torre.

Witness: LeBron’s Mom Hurled XENOPHOBIC Slur

LeBron James’ mother told Haitian-born valet Rockfeller Sorel to “Go back to your country” moments BEFORE she slapped him in the face … this according to a witness statement.

TMZ has learned … a witness at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach told investigators Gloria James didn’t stop running her mouth after she called the Haitian-born Rockfeller Sorel a “f**king n**ger” … telling him, “take a boat and go back to your country.”

As we previously reported — Gloria was arrested for battery and public intoxication after the incident … and Sorel has since filed a civil lawsuit against her over the altercation … claiming emotional distress, humiliation, and mental anguish.

The witness adds, Gloria’s friend tried to pull her away from the fight before it got physical … but Gloria allegedly insisted, “I’m gonna be ghetto.”

Calls to Gloria’s attorneys were not immediately returned.

Nelson Mandela’s Daughter Sued Over Pacquiao Fight

A boxing promoter claims he was victimized by Nelson Mandela’s daughter over a botched effort to organize a Floyd Mayweather/Manny Pacquiao fight to celebrate her dad’s 93rd birthday.

Duane Moody claims Zindziswa Mandela approached him several months ago to broker the fight — which she estimated would pull in $100 million. Moody claims in return for organizing the event, he would get 15% of the proceeds.

According to the lawsuit filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Nelson’s daughter flaked out as he tried negotiating the deal. Things got so hinky, Moody claims he was kicked out of his Vegas hotel room because “Zindzi Mandela was not paying the bill as agreed.”

The fight was ultimately scrapped, but Moody claims he’s owed $7.5 million — yes, we’re confused by the math as well.

GLAAD — The NBA Must PUNISH Kobe Bryant

The NBA “must take action” against Kobe Bryant for dropping a homophobic slur during last night’s Lakers game … so says the head of the most influential gay rights group on the planet.

TMZ spoke with Jarrett Barrios — President of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation — who tells us, “[Kobe's] statement is a start, but the NBA must now take action.”

Barrios continues, “No matter the intent, slurs like this fuel intolerance. The NBA has a chance to show leadership by taking disciplinary measures and sending a message that words like this have no place in sports.”

The GLAAD honcho adds, “All sports leagues have a responsibility to create a safe environment for fans, employees and players.“

Kobe released a statement saying he didn’t mean to offend anyone when he used the words “f**king f**got” last night … but he never really apologized for using the slur.

Matt Lauer is not seriously interested in leaving NBC — unlike his co-host Meredith Vieira — but he is bucking for a massive raise to $25 million dollars per year.

Sources connected with NBC tell us all the talk about Matt leaving NBC’s “Today” is nothing more than a well-timed negotiating ploy. Remember, the Matt buzz started right after reports surfaced Meredith will leave in September.

“Today” has been the #1 morning news show for 15 years — a virtual cash register for the Peacock — and we’re told Matt wants his slice of the pie … in other words … $25 mil.

Lauer currently gets by on $17 million per year.

Gloria James — Photo Of Her Alleged Victim

TMZ has obtained a photo of the man allegedly SLAPPED by Gloria James at a hotel in Miami this morning … taken moments after police arrived on scene.

The valet parker — Rockfeller Sorel — told cops Gloria smacked him with an open hand on the right side of his face … and after the incident, he sought medical attention — though he doesn’t seem to have any visible injuries in the photo.

As we previously reported, the man has already met with a lawyer to discuss his legal options.

Duh.

Wilkins’ Alleged Attacker — ‘I’m Gonna Sue!’

The man accused of attacking NBA legend Dominique Wilkins says he’s the real victim and he’s planning to sue over the alleged beat down.

TMZ spoke with Rashan Michel — a former NBA referee — and he claims he was calmly trying to work out a deal over the money he says ‘Nique owes him for custom suits.

Michel claims Wilkins responded by yelling, “F**k You!” … then security wrestled him to the ground … and that’s when the Hall of Famer slugged him. Michel is adamant that he did NOT hit Wilkins first.

Michel tells us he plans on suing Wilkins and the Hawks organization — as well as subpoenaing the surveillance footage … which he claims proves his side of the story.

UFC Star Takes Down Robber Before Fight

John “Bones” Jones — who has a huge UFC fight tonight in New Jersey with Shogun Rua — just subdued a robber with an awesome fighting move — TMZ has learned.

Jones was doing what has become his ritual before a fight … he was meditating at a park in Patterson, NJ when he heard a woman scream, “I’ve been robbed!”

Jones began chasing the man for a good distance. hen the fighter caught up with the alleged robber, he knocked the guy’s legs out from under him, then placed him in a figure-four leg lock until Patterson cops arrived.

Jones’ fight tonight — UFC 128 — is in Newark.

So far today, he’s on a winning streak.

David and Victoria Beckham are moving back to England

The couple – who are currently expecting their fourth child, a girl, together – are said to be planning a return home when the soccer star’s contract with his current club Los Angeles Galaxy runs out at the end of the year.

A source said: “David and Victoria have made a real go of living in America and it’s become a second home to them.

“They love Los Angeles and will always have a base there. But David’s contract will run out soon and they’ve started thinking about the future. He’s keen to finish his career at an English club if possible, though he hasn’t ruled out other options.

“Victoria is torn because she’s made so many friends in California and loves the lifestyle, but she misses her family in the UK a lot.”

One reason behind their move back to the UK is the couple’s desire to have their sons Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, eight, and six-year-old Cruz educated in England, with Victoria, 36, reportedly making a visit to private day school Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys School earlier this week to discuss sending them there.

A source told the News of the World newspaper: “She hates the idea of them becoming stuck up and spoiled like a lot of American kids. And there’s a part of them both that would love to see their kids educated at a UK school while they are in their teens.”

Venus Williams — Booze Cruise Karaoke Jam

Venus Williams got her karaoke on in front of a cruise ship full of screaming fans of the band 311 … and we’ve got the whole thing on video — choreography included.

TMZ obtained footage of the awesome performance shot last week on a Carnival Cruise in the Caribbean, hosted by 311. In the clip, Venus and two friends are singing “You Wouldn’t Believe” — and they even threw in some dance moves.

Turns out Venus’ group was randomly chosen to be in the karaoke contest — which was judged by 311’s lead singer.

Checkout the video … the tennis ace definitely scored with the crowd.

JaMarcus Russell — Oakland Mansion in Foreclosure

JaMarcus Russell — widely regarded as the greatest bust in NFL history — is in danger of losing the $2.4 million mansion he purchased after signing with the Raiders back in 2007 … TMZ has learned.

According to documents obtained by TMZ — foreclosure proceedings have begun on the former #1 overall draft pick’s house … after he allegedly failed to pay $195,512.05 in mortgage payments.

Now, if the unemployed QB doesn’t cough up the cash in the next 3 months, the bank will put the home on the auction block.

FYI — Russell famously signed a RIDICULOUS contract worth around $60 mil in 2007 — and then proceeded to only win 7 games in three pathetic seasons while gaining about 400 pounds.

25-year-old Russell was eventually released from the team — and is currently out of professional football.

David Beckham has a new tattoo depicting himself as Jesus

The British soccer ace – who already has a number of body art pieces including a topless depiction of his wife Victoria and an inscription of her name in Hindi – underwent two sessions over 12 hours to get the image, which includes three cherubs representing his sons Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, eight and Cruz, six.

David said: “It is Jesus being carried by three cherubs and obviously the cherubs are my boys and so my thought of it is that at some point my boys are going to need to look after me and that’s what they’re doing in the picture. It means a lot.” Discussing the tattoo – done by Los Angeles-based Mark Mahoney – David revealed he never plans to get the artwork done but often wakes up inspired with an idea.

He said: “I had it done before I left Los Angeles. I don’t plan on having a tattoo, just sometimes I wake up and I have an idea of an image I’d like on me. “It’s just something that I’ve found kind of expresses how I feel or thoughts I have or memories. There’s not one tattoo I’ve got on me that doesn’t mean something.”

The new image – which is placed on the left side of his chest – was initially started by an eight-hour session, and David thinks Mark did an “amazing” job. He said: “It was an 8-hour session which lasted until about 3 o’clock in the morning. I then went back a few weeks later and we did another 4 hours. It really is amazing.”

Fashion designer Victoria – who is currently pregnant with the couple’s fourth child – also has a number of tattoos, including an inscription on her back and a Roman numeral on her wrist.

Keith Olbermann’s Exit — Secret Deal

Keith Olbermann saw the handwriting on the wall with the new owner of NBC and cut a deal for his exit that will give him money and options — sources tell TMZ.

Here’s how it went down. Sources familiar with the situation tell us that Olbermann’s agent recently went to NBC complaining that Keith — who has the most popular show on MSNBC — was underpaid at $7 million per year. NBC execs told Olbermann’s agent they would not cough up anymore money.

Network execs were well aware that Comcast wanted Keith gone because he was “a loose cannon that could not be controlled.” It became clear to both sides that Olbermann’s days were numbered and they began negotiating an exit.

We’re told the exit deal wasn’t completed until just before airtime Friday night.

Under the deal, sources say Olbermann will get money but cannot appear on television for a certain period time — we don’t know how long.

Our sources say Olbermann will, however, reappear soon with a presence on the Internet.

UFC Suspends Superstar Fighter Chael Sonnen

Ultimate Fighting superstar Chael Sonnen has been suspended by the UFC in the wake of a money laundering scandal … TMZ has learned.

Just yesterday, Sonnen pled guilty to money laundering in connection with mortgage fraud — and now UFC president Dana White tells us Sonnen’s contract has been temporarily “frozen.”

But White isn’t turning his back on one of his most famous fighters — Dana tells us, “Chael Sonnen has gone through a lot in the last few months and we think it’s important for him to focus on getting his personal life together before focusing on his career in the UFC.”

White adds, “I spoke with Chael earlier today and he agrees that setting priorities in his life is the best thing for him right now. I sincerely hope Chael is able to straighten out his personal life.”

Sonnen has reportedly struck a plea deal in his money laundering case — and is expected to receive two years probation and a $10,000 fine.

Security Video Shows Alleged Mayweather Aftermath

TMZ has obtained surveillance video taken the night Floyd Mayweather Jr. allegedly roughed up his baby mama, Josie Harris — showing Harris being wheeled off on a stretcher after seeking refuge in a security guard station.

As TMZ first reported, Mayweather allegedly blew up at Harris after he learned Harris was seeing an NBA player — CJ Watson of the Chicago Bulls. The police report from that night details how Mayweather’s kids escaped the house and ran to a nearby guard station — and in the video, you can see all three kids entering the station.

Police cars can be seen pulling up and, about 15 minutes later, Harris can be seen being taken out on a stretcher as she clutches her head.

Mayweather was hit with eight charges from the incident and ordered to stay away from Harris and the kids. He is due back in court January 24.

NY Giants Star Involved in SUV Accident

New York Giants football star Justin Tuck was involved in an SUV accident in Teaneck, NJ this evening … TMZ has learned.

We’re told the accident occurred around 8:30 PM ET on Route 4. Sources tell TMZ Tuck was driving a brand new Cadillac Escalade (the tags were still on it) and the other driver was in a Nissan Maxima.

According to a witness on scene, the other driver was walking afterward around muttering something like, “I can’t believe I hit Justin Tuck.”

We’re told Justin’s car wasn’t totaled, but it was towed away. Bergen County PD described the accident as minor and there were no injuries — except for a damaged street sign.

TMZ spoke with Tuck and his wife after they returned home. Justin’s wife told us, “We’re fine.”

Just this week, Tuck was selected to the Pro Bowl.

Cops Nail Barry Bonds in World Series Aftermath

While the San Francisco Giants were celebrating their first World Series victory in half a century — former Giants slugger Barry Bonds was striking out with Johnny Law … in West Hollywood.

TMZ has learned Bonds was pulled over in his Silver Lexus last night around 10:00 PM — and cited for talking on his cell phone while driving … a violation that will set him back roughly $125.

We’re told Bonds was totally cool with the cops — and went along his merry way without further incident.

Junior Seau Domestic Violence Police Report

Junior Seau’s girlfriend told cops the former NFL linebacker grabbed her by the arm and shoved her into a wall … this according to the police report just obtained by TMZ.

The girlfriend told police the force was so violent it caused her to knock over their fish bowl. The fish survived.

One of the cops said he saw a small red abrasion on her right forearm and felt a raised bump on the right side of her head. She also complained of back pain. Cops say the front of her shirt was ripped open.

The woman rejected the cops’ offer to get her an emergency protective order.

Seau — a former San Diego Charger — had left the scene but called the woman’s cell phone while cops were still at the home. Seau spoke with police and denied striking his GF.

Seau returned to the house and was arrested. Cops say they smelled alcohol and his eyes were bloodshot.
