Beyonce Knowles is pregnant.

The ‘Run the World (Girls)’ singer arrived at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) last night (28.08.11) in a loose fitting orange dress, and clutched her visible baby bump as she posed on the red carpet.

She told the press: “I have a surprise!”

Beyonce’s publicist later confirmed the news, telling People.com: “I’m happy to say it’s true.”

The child will be the first for the 29-year-old and her husband, rapper Jay-Z, who married in 2008.

During the VMAs Beyonce first cheered on Jay from the side of the stage as he performed new single ‘Otis’ with Kanye West, then wowed the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles herself, singing ‘Love on Top’. She told the crowd: “I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside of me.” As she sung, Beyonce proudly rubbed her bump, and the cameras panned over to Jay-Z, who had a huge grin on his face. The performance was met with a standing ovation.

Beyonce has recently hinted she was thinking of settling down, saying earlier this month how she was hoping to “dedicate herself” to having children. She said: “When you’re young – 18 or 19 – you have the energy and drive. That’s the time to work as hard as you can. “Now I’m a woman, and because I gave it my all, I can focus on my marriage. I can decide I want to have kids. I can be the mother I want to be and dedicate myself to my children.”

Miranda Kerr won’t rush back to work after giving birth.

The 27-year-old model is expecting her first child with husband Orlando Bloom and insists her career is no longer her biggest priority.

She said: “For me, family is life. The decision to start one wasn’t complex at all.

“My career has been wonderful, but it’s not my life. I don’t feel pressure to get back to work.”

The Australian beauty also has a vision for a laid-back future life with her family.

She told W magazine: “My goal involves a hammock, a vegetable patch, and a solar-powered house. And I hope to eventually get there.”

Miranda had been shooting a fashion campaign in Paris when she found out she was pregnant, following weeks of nausea.

She explained: “I was wondering why I’d been so sick.”

The Victoria’s Secret model is due to give birth early next year but she and her actor spouse decided against finding out the sex of the child.

She said: “We’re keeping it a surprise.”

Miranda recently spoke about how she admired fellow models who juggled their careers and family life.

She said: “I’ve always been open about wanting to be a mother one day, and I’ve always thought Orlando would be a great dad.

“I think having children and pregnancy is a part of life. I look at how models like Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio have done it and made it a part of their lives.”

The ‘Halo’ singer – who is married to hip-hop superstar Jay-Z – was said to be shocked when she discovered she was expecting, but is now thrilled with the news.

A source told Us Weekly magazine: “B was shocked. She loves kids, but she wasn’t ready to be a mother just yet. She really wanted to get her album done and tour the world again.”

Another insider added: “She now knows this is a gift from God and she’s so happy.”

Friends of the couple – who married in 2008 – have expressed their delight at the news, saying they will make wonderful parents.

Record executive Kevin Liles – a close friend of Jay-Z – said: “Jay has been all about family since I met him, and he’s always going to be. I wish them the best.”

Beyonce’s sister Solange added:

“She’s got the most beautiful heart. She’ll be a great mom.”

In 2008, Beyonce said she “isn’t ready” to have children.

The 29-year-old beauty revealed: “I know I want kids but I have never been a girl who sees a baby and goes, ‘Oh! I want one!’ But when I do eventually have a child, I can only pray he is as amazing as my nephew Jules. He’s just the best. He is also a lot of work!

“I’ve seen the reality of having a kid and I know I’m not quite ready for it yet.”

The ‘We Belong Together’ singer – who is believed to be expecting her first child with husband Nick Cannon – has recorded her second festive LP, entitled ‘Merry Christmas II You’, and will release it on November 2.

Produced by ‘American Idol’ judge Randy Jackson, James Poyser, Jermaine Dupri and award-winning composer Marc Shaiman the LP will feature Yule-tide classics such as ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’, ‘The First Noel’ and ‘Little Drummer Boy’, as well as four original songs composed by the pop beauty.

A new version of Mariah’s most famous seasonal track ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ – which featured on the album ‘Merry Christmas’ – will also appear on the album.

Despite having been first released in 1994, ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ continues to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 Recurrent Singles chart each Christmas, hitting the number one spot every year from 2005 to 2008.

It is still not clear whether Mariah and Nick will be preparing for the patter of tiny feet by Christmas time.

Although she is widely rumoured to be pregnant, the singer refuses to publically confirm or deny the news.

Last month, she posted on her website: “I appreciate everyone’s well wishes. But I am very superstitious. When the time is right, everyone will know.”

Lily Allen “lived in fear” for the first three months of her pregnancy

The ‘Not Fair’ hitmaker – who is due to give birth to her first child with boyfriend Sam Cooper in February 2011 – admits she was terrified of something going wrong after previously suffering a miscarriage two years ago, when she was dating Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons.

She said: “I came off the pill, and weirdly, a week later it happened. But then it was really difficult – I had complications.

“I had about a week and a half of really heavy bleeding and had to have lots of scans, that’s when I had to cancel my gig in Spain. I’ve been living in fear for the past three months.”

The 25-year-old star also admitted she regularly skipped meals, replacing food with alcohol, until she fell in love with 32-year-old Sam last year and transformed her life.

Asked if she had suffered an eating disorder as a teenager, she told the Sunday Telegraph magazine: “Not then, but last year I wasn’t eating. I would drink a pint of Guinness as a meal.

“It was only when I got together with Sam in June that that stopped – and that’s also when I stopped using twitter because he said, ‘This is weird, why are there millions of people in the room with us?’ So I cut myself off from everything – and I was so much happier.”

The 34-year-old actress – who announced last week she and her husband Hayes MacArthur are expecting their first child together – is enjoying having the culinary “freedom” of not sticking to a strict diet and is giving in to all her cravings.

She said: “I eat everything. I bake myself strawberry shortcakes and then I wake up at three in the morning and I eat them.

“I love it because so much of the time, I have to be careful.

“I work out. I play certain roles where it’s important for me to look a certain way. But now it’s just freedom. It’s like, ‘Bring on the Sprinkles cupcakes, pizza, pasta.’ I’m loving it!”

The ‘Resident Evil: Afterlife’ actress has also vowed not to ditch her favourite high-heeled shoes in favour of something more practical in the lead up to the birth.

She told People.com: “I love my high heels. I’ll kick a*s in four inches, pregnant any day of the week!”

The former ‘Heroes’ star also revealed she deliberately went on holiday at the beginning of her pregnancy because she wanted to initially keep the news private.

She explained: “It was a very private time for me and my husband and something that I just wasn’t ready to share, so we actually left the country for a while.

“This was something that I wasn’t ready to share yet. So we came back from Europe, and I said to my husband, ‘I just want to go to lunch with my girlfriends. I just want to live my life.’ I was four months pregnant and it was just time to start living my life.”

The X Factor judge – who is currently in Australia preparing for the birth of her first child with British boyfriend Kris Smith – claims she never saw a baby in her future until she became pregnant.

She said: “I just never thought it was something I would do. I had never been broody. No clock was ticking. And I would never have wanted to do it unless I was in the right relationship. He felt like the one.

“Kris loves me pregnant and that’s a big, big help. You do have hormonal days and I think if anything was said that left me thinking, ‘What did he mean by that?’ it might have got to me. But he is loving every minute of it.”

The 38-year-old singer also admits her older sister Kylie Minogue is not jealous of her having a baby and is simply glad to be alive following her recovery from breast cancer.

Discussing her place on the judging panel on British TV talent show The X Factor, Dannii admits she finds comparisons with Cheryl Cole tough, but is hardened to it.

Jessica Taylor and Kevin Pietersen have become parents for the first time.

The former Liberty X singer gave birth to a baby boy today (10.05.10) after the England cricketer had flown back from the Caribbean where he was playing for his country.

A statement said: “They are both thrilled to announce the birth of their baby boy today. The baby was born this morning without complication and both baby and Jessica are doing brilliantly.”

As soon as Kevin heard the news his wife had gone into labour, he jetted back from the Barbados where he was taking part in the World Twenty 20 competition.

He later described the birth of his son, who has yet to be named, as “the most amazing experience of my life.”

Jessica and Kevin married in a winter wonderland-themed wedding in 2008, but shunned the magazine deals on offer in order for it to remain private.

She added in an interview with British TV show ‘GMTV’: “It wasn’t tacky, it was gorgeous. Vegas was the only place we could get married because other places like the Caribbean want you to be divorced for a certain amount of time before they let you marry.

“But I’m so happy and I’ve moved on and I just hope Pete can as well.”

The German supermodel – who has two children, Caspar, six, and five-year-old Clementine, with her film producer husband Michael Vaughn – announced today (15.01.10) she is five-and-a-half months into her pregnancy and is due to deliver the tot in May.

A thrilled Claudia told Grazia magazine: “We are delighted with the news and can’t wait to add to our family.”

The 39-year-old catwalk star – who is one of the world’s most successful models – has previously spoken about how motherhood changed her entire attitude to her career.

Claudia – who married Michael, 38, in May 2002 – said: “I used to work every single day and travel round the world. I worked weekends, I never took one second off. When I met my husband I said, ‘You know what, this is important. I’m not going to work weekends any more.’ And when I had kids, I became even more careful. Modelling work is fine because you can do one day here, two days there, you’re never long gone.”

Shortly after Frances’ birth, Amanda, 37, revealed David wanted two more children but she was happy to stick with just having just one more.

Amanda – who recently signed up to make a guest appearance on hit US comedy ‘How I Met Your Mother’ – said: “He wants three but I’m old, I’m an old lady. Two is enough.”
