Anne Hathaway learned about British music while shooting ‘One Day’.

The 28-year-old American actress spent time in the UK while filming the movie, and particularly enjoyed the film’s soundtrack and learning about cult hits in the country from her British co-star Jim Sturgess.

She told BANG Showbiz: ” I knew about S Club 7 before and I mainly know about Robbie Williams from his episode of ‘Cribs’. But when we were doing the scene when Jodie Whittaker sings his song ‘Angels’, I was actually the only person who didn’t know it. And then ‘Sex Bomb’ came on. I got quite an education from Jim! He turned me on to Stone
Roses.”

Anne has been spotted at underground events in Dalston, East London, since filming the movie, and she admits she loved getting the chance to experience a different side to the British capital.

She added: “The best thing was I got to make so many new friends and explore areas of London I’ve never seen before. There’s a really wonderful creative scene here that I found very nourishing.”

Beyonce Knowles is pregnant.

The ‘Run the World (Girls)’ singer arrived at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) last night (28.08.11) in a loose fitting orange dress, and clutched her visible baby bump as she posed on the red carpet.

She told the press: “I have a surprise!”

Beyonce’s publicist later confirmed the news, telling People.com: “I’m happy to say it’s true.”

The child will be the first for the 29-year-old and her husband, rapper Jay-Z, who married in 2008.

During the VMAs Beyonce first cheered on Jay from the side of the stage as he performed new single ‘Otis’ with Kanye West, then wowed the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles herself, singing ‘Love on Top’. She told the crowd: “I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside of me.” As she sung, Beyonce proudly rubbed her bump, and the cameras panned over to Jay-Z, who had a huge grin on his face. The performance was met with a standing ovation.

Beyonce has recently hinted she was thinking of settling down, saying earlier this month how she was hoping to “dedicate herself” to having children. She said: “When you’re young – 18 or 19 – you have the energy and drive. That’s the time to work as hard as you can. “Now I’m a woman, and because I gave it my all, I can focus on my marriage. I can decide I want to have kids. I can be the mother I want to be and dedicate myself to my children.”

The Boyzone singer has been devastated since his bandmate passed away last month and admits he is still struggling to come to terms with his grief and has been left emotionally exhausted by the tragedy.
He said: “I just feel worn out. I haven’t slept. My brain doesn’t work. My heart’s broken. You just feel crushed. I’ve had good days and bad days.
“The bad days are horrible, it’s like the walls are coming in on top of you. Anxiety I think is what they call it.
“I haven’t been sleeping at all lately. It’s been horrible. We’ve all been feeling the same way since Stephen passed. Mentally I’m absolutely exhausted.
“There’s times when you feel like you can’t breathe, you know, when you’re panicking and I’m not like that. I’ve always been on a level.”
Ronan – whose mother Marie died of cancer in 1998 – admits he is even considering having therapy to help him through his grief.
He added to Britain’s Observer newspaper: “I’ve never before thought about going to get help with counsellors. For the first time ever I think I should.
“When I lost my mum it was the hardest thing at the time I’d ever known in my life but because she was sick for two years and we were told three months before she died that she had three months left, subconsciously you build a wall, your defence mechanism goes up and you prepare yourself for that.
“Whereas with Steo, there was nothing, just this wall of devastation, shock. I don’t think it has hit any of us properly.”

The sexy ‘Jennifer’s Body’ actress has frequently been compared to the ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ star since her break-through role in 2007’s ‘Transformers’, but despite the brunettes’ similar looks and penchant for wild statements, the younger actress insists they are poles apart .

Megan, 23, said: “People compare me to Angelina Jolie, and she’s so serious and stoic. I’m the opposite.

“I’m not a tigress like Angelina. Of course, people want me to be. But I want to be the contradiction of that.”

Megan – who was caught in a furore after she compared ‘Transformers’ director Michael Bay to Nazi party leader Adolf Hitler – blamed the Angelina comparisons for people taking her too seriously.

She said: “When I do interviews, I say things that I think are hysterical. But because we live in a world of sound bites, you’re not allowed to have a sense of humour.

“Sarcasm doesn’t translate in print at all. And neither does self-deprecating humour.”

Megan also said she had doubts about her own acting skills, unlike Oscar-winner Angelina.

She told the New York Times newspaper: “I don’t know if I’m talented, I don’t know what I can do or can’t do. I had no skills at all. As a child, I had it in my head that I was supposed to be doing this, and then I did it. But I didn’t know what I was doing.”

She said: “Leonardo asked a lot of questions and seemed to be most concerned about wrinkle creams.”

The heartthrob is taking extra care of his appearance ahead of action movie ‘Inception’ – for which he has to shed 30lbs before filming starts.

A source told RadarOnline: “Leonardo has gained weight recently and looks almost a bit flabby, which isn’t good, especially as the camera adds pounds.

“There’s an action scene coming up at the end of the year in which he needs to appear emaciated, so the pressure is on.”

Although Leonardo – who plays Jacob Hastley in the film, which is about an officer worker who becomes involved in a blackmail scandal – is finding it hard to cut out calorific treats, he is determined to be in top shape for the scene.

The ‘Ugly Betty’ actress and husband Terence Beesley welcomed their first child, Francis Jonathan, into the world on October 20 and both mother and son are well and resting at home.

Before Francis’ arrival, Ashley – who also stars in TV show ‘Accidentally on Purpose’, about a woman who unexpectedly discovers she is expecting a baby – said she didn’t want to know the baby’s sex.

She revealed: “We thought there are so few surprises left in the world. We wanted to be surprised, so we don’t have the room painted pink or blue.”

Ashley and Terence married in California in 2007 after six years of dating.

They currently live in Los Angeles with their dog Barney, but also have homes in London and Italy.

The British comedian and his US pop star girlfriend were reportedly “messing around” in a Los Angeles studio where they recorded a version of Edward Lear’s 1871 poem ‘The Owl and the Pussycat’.

A source told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “Russell was just messing around in the studio with Katy.

“He was pretending to sing into the microphone and started reciting the poem, ‘The Owl And The Pussycat’, with the lines, ‘Oh lovely Pussy! Oh Pussy my love, what a beautiful Pussy you are’.”

The poem is said to be a private joke between the pair, after Russell, 34, recited it to ‘I Kissed A Girl’ singer Katy, 25, when they holidayed together in Thailand.

The source added: “They often use the nicknames Owl and Pussycat. Russell is ‘Owl’ because he’s wise and, well, it’s fairly obvious that Katy’s a sex kitten, isn’t it?

“He has an amazing delivery. Katy blushed at the line, ‘O let us be married, too long have we tarried’ then joined in, singing a refrain to Russell’s speech.

“That’s when it dawned on everyone. It was actually really good. With work, it could be a really interesting track, evocative of The Goons or Monty Python. They were very harmonious. Everyone was transfixed.”

Russell has previously sung in the film ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ in which he played rock star character Aldous Snow. A follow-up film in which he will reprise the role, ‘Get Him To The Greek’ – in which Katy makes a cameo appearance – is set for release in summer next year.

The soccer star, 34, has been based in Los Angeles since joining LA Galaxy in 2007, and wants to stay in America when he quits the sport because the couple and their sons Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, seven, and four-year-old Cruz are able to lead a relatively anonymous life in the US.

Singer-turned-fashion designer Victoria recently admitted she had found their previous home, Spain, “tricky”, and said living in America made her feel “equal” to David.

She said: “I found Spain a little tricky. But from the minute we landed at the airport, we were equal. America is equal, it doesn’t matter whether you are a man or a woman. In Spain it’s more difficult for women.”

The ‘Bangkok Dangerous’ actor joked about his ordeal at the hands of a “silent but maybe deadly” performer but admitted he found the white-faced stranger “unsettling”.

Nicolas, 45, said: “I guess it would fall into the stalker category more or less.

“I was being stalked by a mime—silent, but maybe deadly. Somehow, this mime would appear on the set of ‘Bringing Out the Dead’ and start doing strange things.

“I have no idea how it got past security. Finally, the producers took some action and I haven’t seen the mime since. But it was definitely unsettling.”

A mime artist performs wordlessly, expressing stories through bodily movement alone, and traditionally paints their face white.

Meanwhile the actor – who is presently facing financial difficulties after being handed an unpaid tax bill of $6 million – has also told of the challenge he faced in portraying a drug-addicted corrupt policeman in ‘Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans’.

He told Parade magazine: “I was trying to find a way to play a guy who was high on crack and other illegal substances and at the same time be responsible and not glamorize the drugs or drug-taking but show the hideous effects.

“I wasn’t exactly sure I could do it, especially being totally sober, which I was. Different kinds of drugs produce different kinds of behaviours – like coke makes you hyper and heroin kind of zombies you out.

“So you have to keep it all straight. I did speak with some people that were recovering drug addicts, but I was trying to make it more of an impressionistic kind of performance. And I was going back 25 years in my own life and trying to recall what it was like.”

The Oscar-winning beauty regularly witnessed her father attack her mother when she was growing up and says it affected her choice in partners.

She said: “My mother was a battered woman and that was my childhood for a good chunk of it.

However, she underwent therapy and learned what to do if and when a relationship became violent.

The 43-year-old actress has now found happiness with model Gabriel Aubry, the father of her 19-month-old daughter Nahla.

She is also using her experiences to help others who have suffered domestic abuse and works closely with the Jenesse Center, a Los Angeles-based shelter which provides support for victims.

The ‘Thriller’ star – who died of acute Propofol intoxication aged 50 in June – underwent several three dimensional scans in 1996 so a virtual reality ‘robotic’ twin could be produced.

It is thought the scans could now be used to bring the singer back in pop videos, computer games or even films.

The anonymous US businessman who owned the images and has reportedly been trying to sell them for $1 million told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “The data has been in our archives since he had the scans. The thing about this data is it immortalised him at the age of 37, before his nose was disfigured and when he was in the prime of his life.”

Meanwhile, it has been revealed Michael’s funeral was nearly cancelled at the last minute in a row over its cost.

Around $1 million was estimated to have been spent on the funeral, which took place on September 3.

Court papers have revealed just three days before the funeral was scheduled to take place, lawyers acting for the ‘Billie Jean’ star’s mother Katherine had filed a request to the administrators of his estate to pay for the funeral bills.

The lawyers stated that if the funeral home and local police department’s bills were not paid by the next day, the burial would not go ahead as planned. Administrators were luckily able to pay the bills in time, preventing any delays to the ceremony.

Katherine’s lawyers admitted the cost of the funeral was high, but added it was: “Entirely commensurate with the decedent’s worldwide status as an entertainer and the world’s grief over his death.”

Ayda loves dressing up so much, she has even bought ballet dancer outfits for their pet dogs and plans to show them off in the coming months.

Real estate mogul and ‘The Apprentice’ star Donald Trump came in second place after banking $50 million in the period June 1 2008 to June 1 2009, with ‘American Idol’ presenter Ryan Seacrest in third place with earnings of $38 million.

Ryan’s earnings were generated from his hosting duties, radio show and production on programmes including ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ but does not include the three-year $45 million deal Ryan signed this summer with 19 Entertainment as it will count towards his earnings next year.

Making up the rest of the top five were ‘Two And A Half Men’ actor Charlie Sheen, who made $21 million  and earns a reported $800,000 per episode of the sit-com, and ‘The Office’ actor Steve Carrell, who has also starred in a number of movies this year, including ‘Get Smart’ with Anne Hathaway.

Earlier this week, John revealed he and his family have been undergoing daily Scientology counselling to help cope with their grief.

He said: “We’ve been working very hard every day as a family to heal. We have our own way of doing it, and it has been helping.”

The 41-year-old singer and her husband Rene Angelil, 67, were told by doctors in August she was pregnant after undergoing a course of in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment, but days later were told it hadn’t worked.

Despite more subsequent attempts at the treatment, Celine and Rene are refusing to give up hope of having a sibling for eight-year-old son Rene-Charles.

Rene said: “Dr. Zev Rosenwaks believed that the procedure/pregnancy took, but that wasn’t the case. We found out some days later. We were shocked.

”We are living the reality of the majority of couples who have to use IVF. The process can be long and arduous.

“But today, we are full of confidence. Celine is more determined than ever. She doesn’t let go.”

The couple – who conceived Rene-Charles after fertility treatment – are now preparing for another course of treatment in New York this weekend.

Rene added to Canada’s Journal de Montreal newspaper: “I admire all the women who go through such a tough process. Since April, she has undergone numerous examinations, multiple hormone injections and blood tests.

“Celine and I didn’t get discouraged … we put our faith in life and in the stars.”

Dina Lohan told her ex-husband Michael Lohan how their 23-year-old daughter has been self-harming as the ‘Cutting Herself’ star’s life spirals more and more out of control.

She told him in a phone call posted by Radar Online: “Her cutting herself and hurting herself? Yeah, it’s bad Michael, it’s bad.”

Dina also told Michael – who is estranged from Lindsay – it would be his fault if anything tragic happened to her.

In the 2008, phone call, she said: “I know that it’s going to happen. I will feel it’s all your fault, that’s how I will feel, it’s not about me.”

Lindsay has previously been pictured with scars on her arm, prompting fears she is harming herself.

Dina is not the first of Lindsay friends and family to speak out about their worries for her health.

Her assistant Jenni Muro told Michael her fears she will take her own life if she doesn’t get the help she needs.

In a phone call to Michael, Jenni said: “I am trying to save your daughter’s life every day.

“She is another mess, she’s no better than she was two years ago and she knows that. If I wasn’t around she would be in grave danger.

“I gave up everything, my boyfriend and my dog and my parents and my new place in LA, everything just so your daughter doesn’t kill herself.”

Michael recently spoke of his fears for his daughter, saying she has an addiction to prescription drugs which he fears will kill her.

He said: “I want my daughter off prescription medication. She never needed it in her life… I’m not going to watch my daughter die. Hate me now, but you love me more later because I’m gonna turn her life around.”

Neither the Rolling Stones rocker nor his estranged spouse were present at London’s High Court this morning (11.11.09) when the first stage of their legal separation was granted on the grounds of the 62-year-old musician’s adultery.

The couple – who married in 1985 and have two children together – split up last year after Ronnie, 62, fled to Ireland with Russian cocktail waitress Ekaterina Ivanova, 20, for a drinking binge in July.

He was expected to return to Jo, 54, after completing a stint in rehab in September. Instead he continued to romance Ekaterina after being treated for drugs, alcohol and sex addiction.

Earlier this year, Jo said she was “relieved” not to be with the rocker anymore.

She said: “I miss him but now I have more time for me. And I don’t have to worry that I’m going to get home and he’ll be drunk.”

The couple’s decree absolute – the final stage of their divorce – will be granted in six weeks and one day.

The vampire movie franchise leads the nominations list for next year’s ceremony, while another blood-sucking drama, TV series ‘True Blood’ has also proved popular, landing three nominations, while ‘The Vampire Diaries’ received two nods.

‘Twilight’ is up for Favourite Movie, Favourite Franchise and On-Screen Team. The film’s stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are also individually nominated for favourite movie actress and actor, while co-star Taylor Lautner is up for Breakout Movie Actor.

‘True Blood’ was nominated for Favourite TV Obsession and Best Sci-fi/Fantasy TV show competing with ‘The Vampire Diaries’ in the latter category. ‘True Blood’s lead actress Anna Paquin is also nominated for Best TV Drama Actress, while ‘The Vampire Diaries’ is also up for Best New TV Drama.

Upon receiving the news, star of the show Ian Somerhalder posted on his twitter blog: “Uhh, anyone who voted for Vampire Diaries for a People’s choice award we thank very very much! Cheers. (sic)”

Country Singer Taylor Swift received the most solo nominations, making the shortlist in three categories, for Best Country Artist, Best Female Artist and Best Pop Artist, in which she competes against Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Britney Spears.

More than 18 million votes were cast online to choose the nominees, and public votes will also decide the winners.

The awards will be hosted by Queen Latifah in Los Angeles on January 6 next year.

The former glamour model – who also has sons Harvey, seven, and Junior, four – loves experimenting with two-year-old Princess’ blonde curly hair and blasted critics who say she is trying to make the toddler grow up too quickly.

She said: “Princess is a mini-me. She has naturally curly blonde hair which I straightened recently and it didn’t look good – she looked like a little troll. Princess is a really girly girl who loves sparkly things and having her nails done.

“People criticise me for putting nail varnish on her fingers and toes, saying she should remain a baby, but who cares? I want her to be as girly as possible and not grow up too quickly. If she came home from school aged 12 in fishnets and a cropped top then she’d get a massive telling-off and would be grounded. She can wait until she’s 18 before she starts wearing that kind of stuff.”

Meanwhile, Katie – who is currently dating cross-dressing cage fighter Alex Reid – has revealed her son Junior and his friends also have a penchant for dressing up in girlie frocks.

She explained to Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “Princess likes dressing up in my clothes, but so does Junior. He and his little friend George go into Princess’ room and come out with hair clips on, wearing her little princess clothes for fun.”

Princess and Junior are Katie’s children with ex-husband Peter Andre, while Harvey is her son with soccer player Dwight Yorke.

The ‘Bodies’ hitmaker – who left the group in 1995 following a rift with his bandmates – has reportedly agreed to perform with Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen for the first time in 15 years for British charity Children In Need.

Former Beatles star Sir Paul McCartney is also believed to be joining the band on stage at London’s Royal Albert Hall, though the supergroup are still discussing what to sing.

A source told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “The reunion is go. Robbie is utterly thrilled about it. He’s been dreaming of performing with Take That again for years and now it’s going to happen.

“Gary is looking forward to singing with Rob again, but landing Paul McCartney is without doubt his biggest coup. They haven’t decided what they are going to sing together, but something will take shape in rehearsals.”

Other performers at the charity event include Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole, ‘Bleeding Love’ hitmaker Leona Lewis and ‘Bonkers’ rapper Dizzee Rascal.

Robbie – who has previously battled alcohol and drug addictions – walked out on the band in 1995 and famously refused to speak to bandmate Gary for 10 years.

But in 2005 the pair made contact and have since been writing together.

Meanwhile, Take That bandmate Mark got his sister to sing at his wedding.

The pintsized star asked Tracy to perform with a choir when he tied the knot last weekend to Emma Ferguson, and she wowed the congregation with a rendition of Judy Collins’ version of Amazing Grace

A source at the service said of Tracy’s performance: “She was amazing. Singing definitely runs in the family.”

The 76-year-old star – who has previously received Best Supporting Actor Academy Awards for 1986 film ‘Hannah and Her Sisters’ and 1999’s ‘The Cider House Rules’ – thinks his only hope of being honoured again is in a year of low standards.

Speaking at the European premiere of his new movie ‘Harry Brown’ in London’s Leicester Square last night (10.11.09), he told BANG Showbiz: “I’ve got a couple of Oscars and I’ve been nominated nine times but I’ve lost seven. There are all sorts of different circumstances and you also want a duff year.

“My first nomination was ‘Alfie’ and the competition was Paul Schofield in ‘A Man For All Seasons’. I didn’t stand a chance. The second time was ‘Sleuth’ and the competition was Marlon Brando in ‘The Godfather’.

“All I’m waiting for is a c**p year so I can get in.”

‘Quantum of Solace’ star Gemma Arterton, socialite Tamara Ecclestone and artist Tracey Emin were among the famous faces who braved the rain to walk the red carpet at the premiere.

Michael and Jack Nicholson are the only male actors to have been Oscar-nominated in every decade of their career.
