Rihanna is the new face of Emporio Armani

The ‘California King Bed’ singer has been signed up by the Italian fashion house to appear campaigns for Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans.

Rihanna – who will appear in ads for the fall-winter 2011-2012 collections, which were shot in New York City and debut in September – follows in the footsteps David and Victoria Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Megan Fox in representing the brand.

Earlier this year, Rihanna was named as spokesmodel for Nivea.

The cosmetics brand teamed up with the ‘What’s My Name’ hitmaker to celebrate their 100th anniversary and released a photo of her posing seductively and apparently naked.

A representative for the brand, Markus Pinger, said: “We are excited to have Rihanna supporting us in our celebration and building a new generation of fans.”

The 23-year-old star has previously revealed she likes to shock people with her fashion choices.

Talking about her future look, the 22-year-old star said: “I probably see a lot of menswear, or something extremely, extremely feminine. But I like to play with both. It would have to be so extreme that it’s a look, because I don’t usually like typical ladylike, girly-girly stuff. It would be a look if I were to do it. I always like something that’s a little off, so it’s just not typical or expected.”

Russell Crowe is on a mission to lose weight

The Oscar-winning actor – whose weight has fluctuated over the years – has started a tough exercise regime in a bid to get him into shape.

Writing on his twitter page, he said: “First ride in quite some time. Sore legs, sore ass, be worse tomorrow and the next day. (sic)”

The father-of-two then told one fan: “If i stop exercising my body tries 2 return 2 its heaviest weight. (sic)”

The ‘Gladiator’ star is on a 105-day training period, which he admits is taking its toll.

He said his diet plan includes, includes “taking in roughly 2400 cal/ 2600 cal incl all beverages (sic)”, as well as tough workouts, one which left him declaring: “i’m toast (sic)”

In 2009, it was revealed Russell, 47, was using a state-of-the-art gym on the set of ‘Robin Hood’ to avoid gaining weight.

A source said: “Russell is a professional. He knew he was cast to play Robin Hood, not Friar Tuck. He knows he has to stay fit.”

The Jonas Brothers singer and the stunning model were spotted getting cosy at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club on Saturday (09.07.11) – where Britain’s Prince William played in a charity match – and they seemed to be enjoying every moment of each other’s company.

Before the game, the 22-year-old heartthrob and the 18-year-old beauty posed for black-and-white pictures in a photo booth and in the last one they were gazing into each other’s eyes.

It seems Joe is now over his heartbreak following his split from actress Ashley Green earlier this year.

The couple, who were together for around nine months, called time on their relationship after their busy work schedules kept them apart, although insisted they were still friends.

A source said: “It was mutual and amicable.”

Joe – who previously dated Taylor Swift, Camilla Belle and Demi Lovato – had praised Ashley for putting his “feelings first” and claimed he was very happy in their relationship.

Victoria Beckham has given birth to a baby girl

The fashion designer and her soccer star husband David – who already have three sons, Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, eight, and six-year-old Cruz, together – welcomed their daughter into the world this morning (10.07.11) at Los Angeles’ Cedars Sinai hospital.

The tot weighed 7lbs 10oz although her name is yet to be revealed.

A spokesman for the couple – who have been married for 12 years – said: “David and Victoria Beckham are delighted to announce the birth of their daughter.

“Happy and healthy she arrived at 7.55 am this morning at Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles.

“Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz are excited to welcome their new baby sister to the family.”

Victoria – who has made no secret of her desire to have a daughter – recently said she felt “blessed” to be pregnant again even though it’s tough being a working mother.

The 37-year-old star said: “As any working mother out there knows, it really is like juggling glass balls when you’ve got the kids and a husband to look after, and you’re passionate about your career.

“But I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m blessed.”

George Clooney feels “unclean” after awards season

The 50-year-old actor began humanitarian work in Sudan in 2005 after feeling the need to do something more beneficial to the world after tiring of “campaigning” to be recognised for his movie achievements.

He explained: “I had just come out of Oscar season and you really do campaign, like kissing babies.

“By the time it’s over, you sort of feel unclean.

“You want to do something that makes you feel better.”

Following his first trip to the war-torn country with his father, George donated money to build a well and huts, but soon learned to use other ways than his wealth to help the African territory because of what happened to his gifts.

He explained: “A year later, the next-door villagers – who wanted water and needed shelter – killed some people to get to that well and shelter.

“It’s devastating. We have to be very careful – sometimes helping is not throwing money at a problem.”

George believes other celebrities should follow his lead and use their positions to help the world.

He added to Marie Claire magazine: “There is ever more attention on celebrity than ever – and there is a use for that besides selling products.

“We can’t make policy but we can ‘encourage’ politicians more than ever before.”

Jennifer Aniston admits yoga is an “important” part of her life

The ‘Horrible Bosses’ star believes in looking after her diet and following a regular exercise regime and says her spirit “goes” if she is unable to find the time to do so.

She said: “I do yoga, yoga is very important. I love it.

“If I’m not doing it, then my spirit sort of goes.

“I try to do some form of exercise, even if it’s just for 20 minute a day, so that I get my body sweating and blood pumping.”

Britain’s Prince William has wished David and Victoria Beckham “luck” with their new baby

The soccer star was without his fashion designer wife– who is due to give birth to the couple’s fourth child this week – at an intimate reception held for the prince and wife Duchess Catherine at British Consul-General Barbara Hay’s Los Angeles residence on Friday (08.07.11), but the royal couple told him not to worry about her absence.

David – who along with Victoria was a guest at William and Catherine’s wedding in April – told them: “Victoria really wanted to come but she is just so tired at the moment. She sent you both lots of love.”

William replied: “Don’t be silly. Please send her all out love and tell her good luck with it all.”

The royal couple have already met with several celebrities since arriving in Los Angeles on Friday for their brief tour.

Yesterday (09.07.11), Billy Zane, Rob Lowe, Joe Jonas, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Zoe Saldana were in attendance when William and Catherine arrived by helicopter to the

Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club, where the prince admitted he is “not a good loser” ahead of showcasing his skills on the polo field.

He said in a brief speech: “Catherine and I have had a busy few days so the prospect of being able to let loose this afternoon is wonderful for me.

“That depends on the result out there today – I’m not a good loser.”

Guests at the $4,000-a-ticket event watched the prince score four goals as his team won 5-2, before tucking into lunch cooked by celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis.

Last night, the pair walked the red carpet at the BAFTA Brits to Watch event, to which Catherine wore a lilac Alexander McQueen gown and earrings borrowed from William’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

On arrival at the Belasco theatre, the couple met a small group of well-wishers before being introduced to the 14 table hosts at the event.

Meanwhile, in the ballroom, Duncan Kenworthy, vice chairman of British Academy of Film and Television Arts, reassured the star-studded crowd – which included Jennifer Lopez, Barbra Streisand, Jack Black, and Tom Hanks – on their interactions with the royals.

Daniel Radcliffe wants to study archaeology

The 21-year-old actor is sad that the ‘Harry Potter’ movie series – in which he has played the titular boy wizard in all eight films – is coming to a close, but happy he will now have more free time to pursue his interests.

He said: “I watch a huge amount of stuff on the Discovery Channel and have started considering doing an Open University course because I’m becoming more and more fascinated by archaeology.

“So yes, as sad as I am to say goodbye to Harry, I’m really excited to see what the future holds.”

While Daniel is looking forward to pursuing other interests, fans can expect not to see him getting involved in sport as he admits he is “hopeless”.

He told Britain’s Hello! magazine: “I’m fit. I can run and I’m very agile but in terms of sports, I’ve always been pretty rubbish.

Zac Efron was drinking with good friend Ryan Rottman literally minutes before Rottman was arrested for DUI. The question, should Zac have said anything to his pal to prevent him from taking the wheel?

Sources inside the Dillon’s Irish Pub in Hollywood tell TMZ … Zac, Ryan, Rumer Willis and a few other friends ordered a total of 7 Kamikaze shots, 8 or 9 mixed drinks and 3 – 4 beers.

Zac and Rottman both left the bar at around 9:30 and went their separate ways. We shot video of Zac running from the bar to his car, though it appears Rumer drove him away. By 9:45, Rottman was in police custody.

Rottman apparently was hammered. Cops spotted him after he drove up a curb near Dillion’s. He blew a .19, more than twice the legal limit.

We asked Zac’s rep if the actor urged his friend to take a taxi or find some other way home that would not have put him behind the wheel. We did not get a response.

Justin Timberlake spends “14 hours” at a time in the recording studio

The singer-and-actor penned some tracks with British star Jessie J and the ‘Do It Like a Dude’ hitmaker was astonished by his work ethic.

She said: “When he’s in the studio, he is in the studio. We would literally spend 14 hours in there and not leave.

“I would be like, ‘Where is the toilet please?’ I’m going to wet myself.”

Justin discovered Jessie after witnessing some of her teenage performances on YouTube and she was overwhelmed by the praise he heaped on her.

She recalled to Glamour magazine: “Justin sat me down and said, ‘You have the most incredible voice I’ve ever heard.’

“When someone likes that says it to you, you want to do one of those dance moves and sing, ‘Love and sex and magic.’ “

Jessie originally got signed to Sony in the US as a songwriter, and accepted the deal unsure if she had a future as a performer in her own right following a series of knockbacks.

She said: “I went round the UK and tried to get signed, and at the time it was like the bombardment of women – VV Brown, Gabriella Cilmi, Cheryl Cole, Adele, Duffy. Everyone was going, ‘We’re not going to buy into another girl now.’

“I got signed as a writer by Sony, so I flew to the US and went, ‘Maybe I’m not an artist.’ I knew at the back of my mind that I was, but sometimes you need someone to go, ‘Come on!’ “

Emma Watson is ready to “figure out” who she really is

The 21-year-old actress – who was cast as brainbox Hermione Granger in the ‘Harry Potter’ film series when she was just 11 years old – admits working on the franchise has ruled her life over the last decade and she is now looking forward to making her own decisions.

She said: “Not a single second of the day was in my power. I was told what time I’d get picked up, what time I could eat and when I could go to the bathroom.

“I have spent more of my life being someone else than I have being myself.

Among the ways the movies have affected her life was Emma’s decision to put her studies on hold last year.

Emma – who will return to her degree at Oxford University in October – explained in an interview with the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I was commuting back and forth between the US and the UK trying to fulfil my commitment to this enormous ‘Harry Potter’ franchise and it just wasn’t feasible. I’m only human.

“I wasn’t getting the best out of either my studies or the filming, so I decided to give a proper goodbye to 10 years of work and resume my studies later.”

Daniel Radcliffe admits acting doesn’t “come naturally” to him

The 21-year-old star was cast in the ‘Harry Potter’ movies when he was just 11 years old and he admits one of the main reasons why he and co-stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson were cast was because of their appearances, rather than their talent.

He said: “I think there’s a perception that we got the parts because we looked right. I think that’s probably quite fair.

“Also, acting is something that I don’t necessarily think comes naturally to me. Certainly not as natural as it does to, say, Haley Joel Osment or Dakota Fanning, who were just giving full-blown adult performances at the age of 10.”

Despite his insecurity about his talent, the ‘Harry Potter’ cast and crew are quick to praise Daniel’s work ethic, insisting he is more committed to the project than many other stars.

Producer David Heyman told Britain’s GQ magazine: “On the first day of shooting the very first film Dan had these coloured contact lenses in. And they were causing him so much pain but he never complained.

“There are people who have nowhere near his talent or celebrity who don’t show that commitment. I think he missed maybe two or three days through sickness in the entire eight films.”

Emma Watson feels like a “different person” to the girl in the early ‘Harry Potter’ films

The 21-year-old actress – who was just nine years old when she appeared as Hermione Granger in the first movie in the franchise, ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ – finds it “embarrassing” to look back on her early performances because she has changed so much.

Speaking ahead of the release on the eighth and final film in the series, ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2′ she told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: “I look back at the early films and see that little girl, and I know it’s me, but it seems like a different person.

“It’s somewhat embarrassing to see myself go through all the awkward stages of growing up. So much time has passed and so much has happened that it seems that I don’t know her, but it’s interesting to see how the character has evolved and how much I have changed.”

Since completing filming on the series wrapped last year, Emma, now 21, has moved on, studying at university and signing up to appear in ‘My Week with Marilyn’ and ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’, but her cast mate Rupert Grint has admitted he’s found it harder to move on.

He said: “I loved every minute of it, and I’m really going to miss it. I felt empty and a bit lost, and it’s taken me a while to accept it’s over.

“When Harry Potter started, I wanted to be an ice-cream man, but the films showed me that I wanted to be an actor, although for the first three I didn’t take it very seriously. I just stood where I was told and read my lines. Then with the fourth film I started caring more about my performance.”

She added: “It can definitely be intimidating to guys to date someone in this industry. And it’s really hard to find a guy who doesn’t care about that stuff.

Heidi Klum has hinted she and husband Seal won’t be having any more children

The German supermodel – who raises four kids, Leni, seven, Henry, five, Johan, four, and 20-month-old Lou, with the singer – explained she is happy with her current brood for now.

She said: “I love my family life now the way it is.”

The 38-year-old beauty also admitted she has had to learn to be a “morning person” since having children, and has given up on late nights altogether.

She added to People magazine: “You have to be a morning person when you have children. Before you can go out late at night and sleep in a little bit, but when you have kids that get up at 5.30 or 6 o’clock you go to bed earlier!”

Heidi recently revealed she loves performing raunchy pole dances for husband Seal, as she thinks it’s important for married couples to have a healthy sex life.

The ‘Project Runway’ host explained: “There’s nothing wrong with a nice garter belt. I’m not saying you have to put up a pole in your bedroom and start swinging off the rafters. But I love that sometimes!”

The ‘Charlie St. Cloud’ actor – who split from his ‘High School Musical’ co-star in December after dating for five years – is reportedly desperate to get the brunette beauty back, as seeing her with new love Josh Hutcherson is “driving him crazy”.

A friend of the star said: “Zac is still not over Vanessa. His heart is broken and he can’t get over her. He may seem happy on the outside, but inside he is hurting.

“He regrets ever ending his relationship with Vanessa. And seeing Vanessa with Josh Hutcherson just drives him crazy. He wants Vanessa back!”

Despite Zac being pictured frolicking on a beach with ‘High School Musical’ co-star Ashley Tisdale – who is also Vanessa’s best friend – over the weekend, it was said to be a desperate attempt to get his ex-girlfriend’s attention.

The source added to HollywoodLife.com: “Maybe his public flirting with Ashley Tisdale is his way of trying to get Vanessa’s attention. It’s odd because Zac and Ashley are really good friends. They certainly look like they are more than just friends in the photos of them on the beach.”

However, Ashley was quick to confirm she sees Zac as more of a brother than a potential love interest.

Victoria Beckham still has a “little while to go” until she gives birth

The 37-year-old fashion designer – who is believed to be booked in for a caesarean section at a hospital in California to deliver her and husband David Beckham’s fourth child later today (04.07.11) – is still awaiting the arrival of the couple’s first daughter.

Her spokesperson told gossip website RadarOnline.com: “She still has a little while to go.”

The couple – who already raise sons Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, eight, and six-year-old Cruz – recently admitted July 4 will always be a special day for them, not just because it is when their first daughter could be born.

Speaking at the launch of his soccer club Los Angeles Galaxy’s new strip, David explained: “Obviously we got married on July 4, 12 years ago, Monday, so it’s a special day for us, it always has been and always will be.”

Meanwhile, the sports superstar explained he is overwhelmed by all the pink items now in their male-dominated home.

He added: “It’s a whole new, different thing for us. To have so much pink in the house, lilac in the house and dresses. All the clothes are ready, the room’s ready. We’re really excited.”
