The ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing’ singer announced the shock split from her musician husband of seven years last Friday (15.07.11), but friends admit they had fought with each other for some time.

A source told usmagazine.com: “They had a very up and down marriage, they would get into heated, horrible fights. “Then, they would also go through times where they were extremely loving and romantic. It was a roller coaster with them from the beginning.”

Another source said the last few months had put real strain on the couple, who have three-year-old twins Max and Emme together. A friend told People.com: “Marc and Jennifer decided it’s best to go their separate ways for the sake of their two kids, after months of nonstop arguing.”

The couple had reportedly “tried everything she could to make it work,” but not even therapy sessions helped. Another source said: “They went to marriage counselling. She was patient and loving and did everything he wanted her to. She exhausted all the possibilities.”

“She is devastated. Absolutely beside herself. This is someone she dedicated a long time to, and that she truly loved.” Jennifer, 41, is thought most likely to keep primary custody of the twins and is said to be trying to remain positive and keep herself busy with work – which includes her re-launched pop career and acting in new film ‘What To Expect When You’re Expecting’.

Another friend said: “She is looking forward to the future. She is jumping back into work and being a mom with all her energy and she is really excited. “She feels like she has grown leaps and bounds and is a new person now, better than ever.”

Demi Lovato has reportedly been dating Ryan Phillippe

The 18-year-old singer and actress is said to have been seeing ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ actor in the last few months, but things cooled since he became a father with his ex-girlfriend, Alexis Knapp, two weeks ago.

A source told the E! news service: “It was really hot and heavy for a while,” but added Demi wasn’t aware Ryan, 36, was to become a father for the third time “until it basically happened. It kind of threw her for a loop.”

Ryan – who also has two children, Ava Elizabeth, 11, and Deacon Reese, seven, with ex-wife Reece Witherspoon – was with Alexis when she gave birth to a daughter, who she has named Kai.

A spokesperson for the 21-year-old actress said, however: “She has never asked Ryan for any help, nor does she expect it.” Ryan, who dated Alexis in 2010, has been supporting her in the later stages of her pregnancy, although he is said to be waiting for the results of a paternity test to prove if he is the father.

A source said: “He is a good father, and whether this is his baby or not, he wants to do the right thing and be supportive.” Ryan also had an on/off relationship with actress Amanda Seyfried earlier this year.

Russell Crowe was more “certain” of having children than his wife

The actor – who has two sons, Charles, seven, and five-year-old Tennyson with spouse Danielle Spencer – wanted to start a family straight away whereas the singer-and-actress was happy to delay having kids but fell pregnant when they were on their honeymoon in April 2003.

She said: “Once Russell has an idea in his head, that’s it. He was certain he wanted children, but I could have kept procrastinating about it. Then I fell pregnant on our honeymoon and the decision was made for me.”

Danielle also revealed she was friends with Russell for two years before they got involved romantically as she was already dating someone else.

She told Australia’s Daily Telegraph newspaper: “When I met Russell, I was in another relationship. We were friends for two years before we got together. Then he went overseas. We had a strong connection, but it was on and off for a while.

“I wasn’t in a rush to settle down. We stayed friends and it was amazing to watch him progress in his career. Breaking America is hard work and he deserved his success when it came. I was very happy for him.

“Just after my first album, ‘White Monkey’, came out, he invited me to go on tour in the US with his band. We were both single and spending a lot of time together. Timing wise, things just aligned.”

The 21-year-old actor – who has played the titular boy wizard in all eight of the movies in the franchise – was thrilled to be asked to open the attraction in Florida, which is based on the films and original books by J. K. Rowling, because he got to enjoy the rides afterwards.

He said: “It’s brilliant going round your own theme park. You don’t have to queue, you don’t have to pay.

“I went on the Dragon Challenge roller coaster five times.”

Despite having amassed an estimated £48 million fortune, Daniel admits he “doesn’t know” what to do with his cash, but is pleased he never has to worry about his finances.

He said: “I don’t know what to do with it. I’m very fortunate to have it, and it gives you room to manoeuvre.

The gay singer – who became a dad to twins Matteo and Valentino through a surrogate mother in August 2008 – is much more content staying at home with his sons and partner Carlos Gonzalez than going out partying these days.

He said: “Everything used to be about me and now everything is about my boys.

“I used to be a night owl but now I hardly go out. I have to force myself to go out because it is too easy to stay at home as a family on the couch.

“I love reading them stories and being there to put them to bed.”

Ricky has previously used his time in London to go out socialising, but this time he wants to use his visit to educate the boys.

He explained: “This time on tour, it isn’t about me going out clubbing, it’s about the boys.

“I want to take them to London Zoo and to the Natural History Museum, but I think they will be scared of the dinosaurs.”

Ricky wants his sons to have as many diverse experiences as possible so they can pursue their own interests, and says they are already fascinated by different things.

He told Hello! magazine: “I just want them to be happy. I am going to expose them to as many things as possible – sports. Arts, music – and let them find their own way.

The ‘X Factor’ judge and the Formula One driver – who have been dating on and off for the past four years – are set to marry after Lewis popped the question, according to Nicole’s father.

Alfonso Valiente – who split from Nicole’s mother Rosemary when she was six but remains close to his daughter – told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: “You know about the proposal? Yes they are engaged.

“My future son-in-law is a really nice guy, really down-to-earth.

My family all like him. The good spirit is there.”

Alfonso, 52, says he first met Lewis last year after the couple spent a week with him and his family on the Hawaiian island of Oahu and the sportsman left a good impression.

He said: “When he walked into the house for the first time he picked up one of the babies. That went down very well.

“He is sincere and he and my daughter seem genuinely happy together. Lewis is a really good guy. When they came to visit, we hired them a Jeep because he had never driven one before.”

While a spokesman for 25-year-old Lewis refused to confirm their engagement, Nicole recently revealed how she wants to settle down and have children.

According to our sources, Khloe and and Lamar were being driven by a car service yesterday in Queens when they struck a motorcyclist and a 15-year-old boy. Khloe and Lamaer were not injured — but we’re told Lamar was particularly upset by the accident since he was already in town for his cousin’s funeral.

A man arrested outside Paris Hilton’s Malibu home has been charged with felony stalking

James Rainford – who already had a restraining order, in which he had to stay at least 200 yards away from the hotel heiress and her properties – appeared in a Californian court today (15.07.11) after he was found by police standing on the beach looking into Paris’ home on July 4.

Prosecutor Wendy Segall said Rainford, 36, is facing two felony stalking counts and three misdemeanour counts of disobeying a court order.

Rainford is currently in jail with bail set at $150,000.

In April, Rainford attacked Paris’ then-boyfriend Cy Waits outside a Los Angeles courthouse and was arrested last April after sneaking into her Hollywood property, but pleaded no contest to both charges.

The news of Rainford’s arrest came days after an intruder who tried to break into Paris’ home was sentenced to two years in prison.

Nathan Lee Parada – who was wielding a knife when he attempted to get into her Los Angeles house – was found guilty of first degree residential burglary in April, and at the hearing Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Kellogg also recommended he undergo mental health counselling.

David Beckham is learning to be more “delicate” with his newborn daughter

The soccer star and fashion designer wife Victoria – who already have three sons, Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, eight and six-year-old Cruz together – welcomed little Harper Seven into the world on Sunday (10.07.11) and he admits having a girl is different to having boys.

In a video on his Facebook page, he said: “To have another girl in the family is really incredible. We’ve got three beautiful, healthy boys already and we’re so lucky to have that and now to have a beautiful little girl, it’s amazing.

“Having a daughter is a whole new thing. Having pink in the house and lilac in the house. And you have to be a lot more delicate with girls than with boys and I’m not used to that so it’s a whole new experience but it’s an amazing experience. To have that little bundle of joy and your hands and her making her little noises and opening her eyes – it really is an incredible moment for us.”

The British athlete – who wore the number seven on the back of his shirt for many years – also spoke about the reasons behind Harper’s name.

He said: “A lot of thought goes into our children’s names and Harper was a name we’ve loved for a long time for a couple of reasons.

“One is them was because Harper is an old English name which we loved and one of the other reasons is because Victoria’s favourite book is ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ and the author was Harper Lee. And it’s a very strong passionate book so that’s where Harper came from.

“And Seven is partly because of the shirt number I wore for many years because I had so much luck around wearing that number and it was such an influential number throughout my career and a lucky number but that wasn’t the main reason. The reason behind Seven is that it symbolises spiritual perfection and is a lucky number around the world. We love the name. We love Harper Seven and we’re very proud of having her in our family.”

A source said: “The couple like sleeping with their pooches. Rob couldn’t stand having them sleep in another room – or, worse, outside.

“But some of the dogs are quite small – the bichon frise pup, particularly – and Robbie’s king-size bed is huge.

“It was too high up for them all to clamber up. So Rob bought a special, bespoke set of fake fur-lined doggy steps so they can make it up there safely. Now the whole family sleeps together.”

Although Robbie and Ayda live in Los Angeles, the singer brought his dogs over to the UK for his band’s recent tour because he couldn’t bear to be parted from them for too long.

However, the dogs may soon have to share Robbie and Ayda as the ‘Angels’ hitmaker recently revealed the couple hope to have kids in the near future.

Explaining why he returned to touring and became more sociable, he said: “I’m going to be a dad… maybe next year or the year after and I don’t want their dad to be emotionally inept, for my own well-being as well as theirs.

“At the start of the year, I got a feeling that ‘things’ can be different. It started as an ember and now because of the tour it’s a furnace.

“In fact it started when we – as a couple – were kindly invited on holiday that was a once in a lifetime thing but it involved going with people we didn’t know. My automatic reaction normally would have been, ‘No, be safe, don’t step out of your comfort zone’ but then I thought of the kids we’re yet to have and said, ‘No f**k it, I want their dad to be able to do this sort of thing.’ So I did. The source said: “Victoria has told David she has never felt happier and that they now have the perfect family.

“She wants Harper to grow up in a place where she can have the amazing childhood the boys have had.

“Where they live now, they can play on the beach at the weekend, swim outdoors every day and have a great lifestyle growing up in the sunshine.”

The couple moved to Los Angles in 2007 when David signed for US soccer team LA Galaxy, but his contract at the club is set to run out at the end of next year and the 36-year-old hunk “hasn’t ruled out” playing abroad.

The source added to The Sun newspaper: “David hasn’t ruled out playing for a European or English team.

“He sees where Victoria is coming from though, with the boys so happy and doing well at school he knows it will be hard for them to move.”

Lea Michele will leave ‘Glee’ at the end of the next season

The actress will see her character Rachel Berry graduate from McKinley High at the end of the third series, along with Chris Colfer, Cory Monteith and other, as yet, unnamed cast members.

Creator Ryan Murphy – who insists more characters will leave than stay – told The Hollywood Reporter: “We made that decision and I involved Chris and Lea and they thought that was a good idea. They both trust the writing and trust me and felt that it would be great to have an open and closed experience for them to go out while they were on top.”

Cory wasn’t consulted about the decision, but Ryan explained: “He knows he was a sophomore when the show started.”

The scriptwriter insists several characters had to leave because they are supposed to be school students, and therefore they would graduate and go on to college or continue their lives.

Ryan explained: “You can keep them on the show for six years and people will criticise you for not being realistic or you can be really true to life and say when they started the show they were very clearly sophomores and they should graduate at the end of their senior year.”

While season three will be Lea’s final, Ryan promised she will still take centre stage.

He said: “I’m much more interested in Lea’s character – not so much on her relationship with Finn, but more on what her dreams are beyond high school and how she plans on getting them. That’s what my senior year was about.”

“Victoria is a massive fan of Kate Middleton and now, finally, baby Harper is going to be her very own little princess.”

The 37-year-old star – who also has three sons, Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, eight, and six-year-old Cruz, with David – has now cleared her diary for the next two months to devote her time to Harper.

The source added to the Daily Star newspaper: “Victoria has always dreamed of having a daughter. Now her dream has come true. Like any proud mum she’s planning ahead and being Victoria she will want the very, very best for her daughter.

“Victoria has cleared her diary for the next two months. She wants to spend the summer at home relaxing and being a proper hands-on mum.”

Meanwhile, the Beckhams – who attended the royal wedding on April 29 – have invited Prince William and Duchess Catherine to come and meet the tot next time they are in the UK.

A friend explained: “David and Victoria are so proud of their little daughter. As soon as they are next in Hertfordshire at Beckingham Palace they want the duke and duchess to come and see Harper.

“It’ll be a special moment for David and Victoria.”

David and William struck up a close friendship after they worked together on England’s failed bid for the 2018 soccer World Cup.

The naming of Harper Seven, who was born in Los Angeles on Sunday (10.07.11), is thought to have been largely influenced by her three brothers – Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, eight, and six-year-old Cruz – who wanted to call their sister Harper Finkle, a character played by Jennifer Stone in TV show ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’.

A friend of the couple told The Sun newspaper: “The boys love ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ – and have been very vocal in helping to name their new sister.

“David and Victoria think it is a lovely name. The whole family is pleased with the choice – the boys are very happy.

“Seven is something they had talked about. They were still not certain when the baby was born but it all seemed to fall into place.

“She was born in the seventh month in the hour of seven and weighed seven pounds. It just seemed right. David is keen on the meanings and power of numbers. We all hope it will bring her luck.”

The soccer superstar also wore the number seven shirt when he played for Manchester United and captained the England team.

Following the arrival of Harper Victoria has told husband David they are not having anymore children, insisting their family is now “complete” after going through a pregnancy that left her with back pain and bunions.

A source said: “With three great boys and now a beautiful girl Victoria is insisting their family is complete.

And a friend added: “Victoria is determined not to have to go through that again.”

Emma Watson wants to be a “warrior princess”

The 21-year-old actress – who plays Hermione Granger in the ‘Harry Potter’ films – wants there to be more strong role models for young girls, rather than them just being taught to be pretty and polite.

She said: “I feel like young girls are told they have to be this kind of princess and be all this sweet stuff.

“It’s all bull***t. I identify with more of being a warrior princess, so if I had to be a princess, I’d have to kick some ass first. That would have a lot of people terrified.”

Emma admits her attitude has developed through playing the strong character of Hermione over 10 years and eight films, and both of them have grown together.

Speaking at the New York press conference for ‘Harry Potter and he Deathly Hallows: Part 2′, Emma added: “I’m terrified of getting into trouble. I’m very heady in the same way that she is, kind of constantly thinking three or four moves ahead.

“I try to intellectualise a lot, which she does well. She’s very determined. I am as well. I feel so much of me went into her and so much of her went into me that I can’t really differentiate too much anymore.”

Emma also clarified that she has not quit n Brown University in Rhode Island, America, to study at Oxford University in England, but is continuing her studies there for a year before returning to the US for her final year.

She added: “I mean, it’s obviously scary, change is always scary. But I feel very excited and I feel like I’m entering a new chapter and getting a fresh start. I’m going back to school in the autumn. I’ve got two years left in university.”
