Frank McCourt: I Won’t Sue Till Bud Makes His Move

Sources connected with Frank McCourt tell TMZ … Frank and his lawyers have decided to sit back and wait … to see who MLB Commissioner Bud Selig chooses to oversee the day-to-day operation of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Our sources say the person Selig picks will not run the operation, but rather will have a VETO over decisions Frank and the rest of the management team make.

As TMZ first reported … Frank’s lawyers are preparing legal documents that would challenge Selig’s move earlier this week — claiming it’s “arbitrary and capricious.”

Our sources say nothing will be filed before Selig names the monitor. We’re told if it’s someone who has been “sympathetic” to the team and Frank, they probably will not challenge the decision — at least not immediately.

If, however, the person Selig chooses is not friendly — or, as it was put to TMZ, “a saboteur” — Frank’s lawyers will go to court immediately.

We’re told Frank and his team have no idea who Selig will select, but some of the names bandied about include Tommy Lasorda, Peter O’Malley and Joe Torre.

Lindsay Lohan’s Friend — I’m No Accomplice!

Lindsay Lohan’s friend is adamant he wasn’t playing decoy when Lindsay allegedly stole a $2,500 necklace back in January — sources tell TMZ, he just wanted to chat fashion with the store owner.

As we previously reported, Sofia Kaman — the owner of the L.A. jewelry store Lindsay allegedly stole from — testified that Lindsay’s friend Patrick distracted her several times while Lindsay was in the store, hitting her with obscure questions about jewelry … while Lindsay made off with the goods.

But sources tell us, Patrick’s a fashion enthusiast who even owns his own clothing line — and was simply expressing genuine interest in Sofia’s company.

The hearing will continue at 1:30 PM PST.

‘Boardwalk’ Star Sued Over Alleged Rooftop Attack

“Boardwalk Empire” star Paz de la Huerta unleashed such a ferocious beatdown on a reality star last month … the alleged victim claims she’s suffered PERMANENT injuries — this according to a new lawsuit obtained by TMZ.

Samantha Swetra — who starred on the MTV show “The City” — filed a lawsuit against Paz in NY this morning … in which she claims the HBO actress punched her and then hit her in the leg with a glass cup during a party on the roof of The Standard Hotel back in March.

According to docs, drawn up by her lawyer Stephanie Ovadia, Swetra claims she was “assaulted, beaten and battered” so viciously … she sustained “severe” physical and emotional injuries … “some of which injuries are permanent in nature.”

Sources close to Samantha say she’s still suffering pain in her nose and is having trouble breathing.

Swetra is suing for unspecified damages.

Earlier this week Paz appeared in criminal court in Manhattan — where the D.A. charged her with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, attempted assault and harassment.

Kate Middleton won’t be promising to “obey” Britain’s Prince William when she marries him next week

The future princess – who is to tie the knot with the royal on April 29 at London’s Westminster Abbey – will be following in the footsteps of William’s mother, Princess Diana, and omitting the word “obey” from her wedding vows.

Instead of promising a lifetime of obedience towards her future husband, 29-year-old Kate will opt to “love and comfort” her spouse in the same way the late Diana did when she married Prince Charles in 1981.

According to friends of the pair, the revamped vows are a more modern and equal choice for Kate and William.

A pal told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “They have been together for 10 years, studied together, lived together and have the same friends. They are equals in every way, and have planned this wedding as equal partners, so for Kate to ‘obey’ doesn’t make sense.

“Most brides choose not to say it these days and both William and Kate are aware of the public’s perception of her as representing the modern woman and a fresh, modern face for the royals.”

Yesterday (21.04.11), Church of England head the Archbishop of Canterbury Dr. Rowan Williams, who will officiate the royal wedding, praised William and Kate for their realistic approach to the future.

He said: “I’ve been very struck by the way in which William and Catherine have approached this great event. They’ve thought through what they want for themselves, but also what they want to say.

“They’re responsible to the whole society, and responsible to God for their relationship. I think that they are deeply unpretentious people, and that message about taking that responsibility sensibly, realistically, courageously, comes over very strongly in conversation with them.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are splashing out £90,000 on a new nanny for their brood

The couple – who raise six children, Maddox, nine, Pax, seven, Zahara, six, Shiloh, four and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne – are looking for a new full-time carer for their kids who will travel between California, New Orleans and France, as well as other film locations around the world.

As well as a degree in education or child development being essential for the role, Brad and Angelina are demanding the nanny should speak at least two different languages, as well as the native tongues of their children.

An insider told The Sun newspaper: “It’s a coveted position. Brad and Angelina’s requirements are justified -they only want the best for their kids. The pay packet and lifestyle make it a pretty amazing deal.

“Not only have Brad and Angelina got to be able to trust the nanny completely with the kids but the new carer must also respect the family’s privacy.”

Brad’s parents, Bill and Jane, recently moved in to the family’s Chateau Miraval estate in France to help the couple raise their large brood.

A source explained: “The whole family is going to move there as soon as the renovations are done. At the moment they have six nannies – one for each of the kids – and the plan is to get rid of the helpers and rely on Bill and Jane.

“The annex they will live in is an old building which used to be used as a dovecote. It’s big enough to have a sitting room, kitchen and a couple of bedrooms. It will make a lovely little cottage for them.”

The ‘Judas’ singer has been sporting raised bumps which give an angular appearance to her face and shoulders in photos for her new album ‘Born This Way’, but her boyfriend wasn’t supportive of her idea of making the changes permanent.

She told NME magazine: “I did look into having them done permanently but decided against it. Mostly because of my boyfriend, if you want the truth.”

Gaga is currently dating bar manager and musician Carl Luc, whom she first got together with in 2005, but they split when she first found fame, though they reunited last year.

The ‘Bad Romance’ hitmaker’s modified look has been compared to French artist Orlan, who has modified her face as artwork a number of times through plastic surgery.

Upon hearing of Orlan and seeing pictures of her for the first time, Gaga said: “It’s quite beautiful. That’s weird. It’s very fabulous, I’m going to be inspired by her now.”

The Oscar-winning actress is concerned about what details her former spouse Jesse James could reveal about their relationship and his extra-marital affairs, and because of his decision to write the autobiography she has told him she no longer wants to remain friends.

A source told this week’s Closer magazine: “He didn’t warn her about the book at all – she had no idea he was even considering it until after he’d signed the contract. She’s devastated. Sandra’s told Jesse they can no longer be friends – even for the kids’ sake. She decided she has to herself first. She couldn’t deal with him anymore.”

The couple separated in March 2010 – just days after her Best Actress Oscar win for her performance in ‘The Blind Side’ – after it was revealed the ‘Monster Garage’ host had been cheating on her with tattoo model Michelle ‘Bombshell’ McGee as well as other women.

They subsequently divorced last June and Jesse is now engaged to tattoo artist Kat Von D.

Beyonce Knowles is “working nights” on her new album while in Paris

The ‘Run The World (Girls)’ singer is visiting the French capital with husband Jay-Z, and while staying in a two story suite at the Hotel Le Meurice the pair have been working hard to get her forthcoming album complete.

A source told People.com: “They’ve set up a studio in another suite and have been working nights on her album.”

The couple arrived in Paris by private jet on Monday (18.04.11), and enjoyed a trip with her six-year-old nephew Daniel – son of her sister Solange Knowles – to Disneyland today (21.04.11), where she was seen having fun wearing a cap with the image of Disney character Goofy.

However, she has spent most of her time working, with a source joking she hadn’t even been seen shopping in the city’s expensive stores.

The insider said: “She hasn’t gone out on one of her customary kamikaze boutique runs.”

Beyonce is thought to be working with ‘S&M’ hitmaker Rihanna on her new album after meeting at this year’s Grammy Awards.

An insider said: “Rihanna has wanted to work with Beyonce for some time now and, after talking about a duet at this year’s Grammys, they have finally managed to set aside some time to record together.

“The song will feature on Beyonce’s album and will be a number one smash hit for sure.”

Robert Pattinson used to pretend he knew the British royal family when he went to the US

The ‘Water for Elephants’ star – who was born and raised in London, England – has never met any of the monarchy, but continues to be surprised people believe that he has just because he comes from the UK.

Speaking on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’, Robert said: “I don’t think I’ve ever met them. I used to tell people when I came to the States that I did. They believed me!

“Five or six years ago when I first used to come to Los Angeles there weren’t many English people, now there are like a million and people still believe me.”

The 24-year-old actor continues to travel between Canada, the US and the UK for work, and manages to do so with restricted luggage – although he still loses things.

He joked: “I have three bags. Luckily I wear the same thing every single day. But I still manage to lose things.”

Robert stars alongside Reese Witherspoon in his new movie ‘Water for Elephants’ – about a man who works on a travelling circus in the US depression – but was not scared about working with any of the big animals on set because he has never been hurt by one.

He revealed: “I worked with everything, everything we could think of. I guess because I’ve never been hurt by an animal I just innately trust them. It’s completely idiotic.”

Demi Lovato was bullied for being fat

The 18-year-old singer – who was treated for an eating disorder at an unnamed Chicago-based facility between last November and January, and has been diagnosed as bipolar – has revealed she was cruelly teased by other children when she was at school, and she insists the traumatic experience played a part in her dramatic weight loss.

Speaking on TV show ‘Good Morning America’, Demi said: “I literally didn’t know why they were being so mean. I was bullied for being fat.”

She added that she had virtually “stopped eating” at the age of 12 – consuming only two meals a week and dropped 30lbs, to weigh 95lbs.

A life coach was brought in to help the star, who said: “I thought it was enough, so everyone else thought it was enough.

“In reality I was only eating a meal a day. When I was about 15, I was only eating two meals a week, but I wasn’t losing any more weight because my body adjusted to that. So I tried new things, laxatives, fasts – nothing was working.”

Demi also turned to bulimia, adding: “At my worst, I was doing it five times a day. I threw up so hard and so much, it was just blood in the toilet.”

The star quit her popular TV show ‘Sonny with a Chance’ earlier this month because she was nervous stepping in front of the cameras again, but she is adamant her Disney bosses never asked her to lose weight.

Demi also revealed her eating disorder led her to self-harm as “a way of relieving pressure” when she was “stressed and had anxiety”.

She is now taking her recovery “day by day” and concentrating on her musical career, saying: “It made sense to me to leave the show and focus on my music. In the studio you don’t see my body, and I feel all of my confidence is in my voice.

“I don’t know if I could handle being in front of the camera with my body right now.”

Robert Pattinson’s “ass” kept hanging out while he shot fight scenes for ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’

The British actor – who stars alongside girlfriend Kristen Stewart in the vampire movie series – was down to his last pair of underwear, given to him by talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, when he shot some big action scenes for the film, but found his behind was constantly on display because his back is “too long”.

He told Ellen: “I save your ones for special occasions. I was doing the last ‘Twilight’ movie and I only had one pair left and they were those ones.

“We were doing this big fight scene and for some reason, I think the shape of my body, my back is way too long or something, my ass is constantly hanging out.”

He joked producers on the movie were so concerned about the display they called up his agent.

Robert added: “I genuinely think I have a few too many vertebrae or something. We were doing this big fight and every shot has these Ellen underpants. It came to a point where producers are calling up by agent and going, ‘I don’t know what he is up to, but I don’t like it.’

However, the 24-year-old star has a reason for always being down to his last pair of underpants – he does not know how to wash them.

He confessed: “I don’t know how to use a washing machine.”

Robert has previously revealed he likes to wear the same clothes on a daily basis because he finds shopping a difficult experience.

He said: “I like kind of s***ty clothes most of the time. I like second hand. That’s another thing. I can’t really go into second hand stores to get new clothes any more so I end up wearing the same thing every day.

“I wish I could shop in vintage stores the whole time. But because a lot of paparazzi follow me around, it can be difficult.”

Robert Pattinson is terrified of circuses because he once saw a clown die

The ‘Twilight’ hunk was left traumatised after a stunt went wrong during his first ever visit to the big top with his parents when he was a young boy.

The 24-year-old star told US TV show ‘The Today Show’: “The first time I went to the circus somebody died. One of the clowns died. His little car exploded. The joke car exploded on him. Seriously.

“Everybody ran out. It was terrifying. It’s the only time I’ve ever been to the circus.”

Robert is not the only star who shuns the circus – P. Diddy and Johnny Depp both suffer from Coulrophobia, a fear of clowns. Diddy has a ‘no clowns’ clause written into his contracts, and was once deemed unsuitable to appear on US TV show ‘Fear Factor’ by a therapist because of his irrational phobia.

Speaking of his own fear, Johnny has said:

“There’s something about the painted face, the fake smile. There always seemed to be a darkness lurking just under the surface, a potential for real evil. Something must have happened when I was a kid.”

Witness: LeBron’s Mom Hurled XENOPHOBIC Slur

LeBron James’ mother told Haitian-born valet Rockfeller Sorel to “Go back to your country” moments BEFORE she slapped him in the face … this according to a witness statement.

TMZ has learned … a witness at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach told investigators Gloria James didn’t stop running her mouth after she called the Haitian-born Rockfeller Sorel a “f**king n**ger” … telling him, “take a boat and go back to your country.”

As we previously reported — Gloria was arrested for battery and public intoxication after the incident … and Sorel has since filed a civil lawsuit against her over the altercation … claiming emotional distress, humiliation, and mental anguish.

The witness adds, Gloria’s friend tried to pull her away from the fight before it got physical … but Gloria allegedly insisted, “I’m gonna be ghetto.”

Calls to Gloria’s attorneys were not immediately returned.

‘Starsky & Hutch’ Star — ‘I Fear For My Safety’

The guy who played Detective David Starsky on the ’70s classic “Starsky and Hutch” claims he’s living in fear of an “irrational” female superfan who’s been lurking around his apartment — and he needs protection STAT!

TMZ has obtained documents filed by Paul Michael Glaser — in which the actor begs a judge to slap a restraining order against the woman who used to run his official website.

In the docs, filed last week in L.A. County Superior Court, 68-year-old Paul claims the woman is so obsessed with him — she followed him to England three years ago to watch him perform in a play … a play she attended 23 TIMES!

Paul also claims she’s fired off more than 500 emails to him over the past two years in which she exhibits “both a rational and very irrational side.”

Glaser adds, “I am about to start a tour with my book, and given [the woman's] behavior, I fear for my safety.”

Glaser wants the judge to make sure the woman stays at least 200 yards away from himself and his family.

‘Jersey Shore’ — Buongiorno FLORENCE!

The cast of “Jersey Shore” will be fist-pumping their brains out in Florence, Italy for Season 4 … TMZ has confirmed … because the capital of Tuscany is the youngest, coolest city in the Boot.

Sources intimately familiar with production tell TMZ, Florence was chosen because “it’s young, walkable, fashionable, and beautiful in springtime” … and, BTW, riddled with alcohol-guzzling clubgoers.

But we’re told the cast ain’t doing the city like your average tourists — according to sources, they won’t be living at a normal house … or a normal hotel … but our sources are mum on exactly where they will be staying.

Mariah Carey likes to sit in the nursery built for her unborn twins and stare at the ceiling

The ‘Hero’ singer – who is expecting a boy and a girl with husband Nick Cannon – has created a room with her decorators which celebrates their individuality while also incorporating some of her own taste, and she loves it so much she often goes into it to think about the children’s’ future.

She said: “I wanted to create a beautiful, tranquil, cosy environment for the babies. Everything matches, but pieces are individualised to celebrate the twins as separate entities.

“The ceiling has orangey-pink clouds in a blue sky with golden stars twinkling. It’s based on two songs I wrote that are fan favourites, ‘Underneath the Stars’ and ‘Close My Eyes’

“Sometimes I just sit in the nursery and stare at the ceiling because I love it so much. To me, it symbolises wanting my children to dream as big as possible and to let their imaginations be unbridled.”

Mariah is expecting the twins to arrive within the next few weeks, and hopes she will be able to learn from them as they grow.

She told Life & Style magazine: “Being a mother is probably the hardest job in the world. I feel like, in a lot of ways, children come into the world to teach us.

“It’s going to be a delicate balance between raising them around glitz and glamour and keeping them grounded. One thing I’m sure of is that I’ll be grateful for the twins every day, no matter what.”

The 41-year-old singer recently revealed the twins had different personalities, with the boy taking after Nick while the girl was more like Mariah.

She said: “You can tell the personalities a bit. In viewing our ultrasounds, our boy is all ready like Nick, like, ‘Here I am, take my picture or don’t, and our girl is coyly facing the other way, like, ‘No pictures,’ waiting for a proper debut.”

Demi Lovato has quit her Disney show ‘Sonny with a Chance’

The 18-year-old singer-and-actress – who was released from rehab in January after three months of treatment for an eating disorder – has decided to leave the comedy show because she was nervous about going back in front of the camera.

She told People magazine: “It made sense for me to go ahead and leave the show to focus on my music.

“It’s kind of sad for me that a chapter of my life has ended but there couldn’t be a better time for me to move on.

“I don’t think going back to ‘Sonny’ would be healthy for my recovery. Being in front of a camera would make me nervous.”

Demi – who has also confessed to having a nervous breakdown prior to her entry into rehab – has the full backing of the Disney Channel, with a spokesperson saying they “respected” her decision to leave.

A representative said: “We respect Demi’s decision to focus full-time on her music and not immediately return to her acting career. She is a talented young woman and our hearts are with her as she continues to take action to improve her health and bounce back from adversity.”

Katie Price has thanked Sir Elton John for introducing her to her new boyfriend.

The British TV star met Argentinean polo player Leandro Penna at an Oscars party hosted by the singer and his husband David Furnish in Los Angeles in February and the mother-of-three will always be indebted to them because she’s so happy.

She wrote on twitter page: “we are so compatible we cant thank Elton John and David Furnish enough xx (sic)”

Katie – who is in the process of divorcing second husband Alex Reid, who she split from in January – is currently in Cordoba, Argentina, with Leandro, where she has been introduced to his parents Mercedes and Hector.

Tweeting about their meeting, she said: “great time great day great family leo is a true gent (sic)”

It seems Katie has become very taken with Argentina and has even started to learn Spanish.

She gushed in a tweet written in Spanish, which has been translated: “I love Cordoba … I’m fascinated with this province! The perfect Combrecita. (sic)”

She even wrote “Katie Io amo” meaning “I love him”.

Although she is now gushing about Leandro, 25, just a few weeks ago Katie, 32, was adamant she was taking things slowly with her new man.

The 22-year-old actress – who split from her ‘High School Musical’ co-star Zac Efron in December after dating him for five years and has most recently been linked to Josh Hutcherson – doesn’t “need a guy” to be happy and is enjoying discovering more about herself.

When asked if she is looking for a relationship, she said: “No, I’m really happy embracing this moment. Right now I feel so happy and I have so much going on, I don’t necessarily need a guy.

“Whether I’m single or not, this is an amazing time in my life. I’m a young woman and I’m exploring who I am.”

However, the ‘Beastly’ star would like to fall in love again – but thinks it is more likely to happen if she doesn’t try to find her ‘Mr. Right’.

In an interview with LOOK magazine, she said: “Love comes when you’re not looking, so I’ve decided I’m not going to look!”

When the pretty brunette does find another man, she hopes he’ll have a good sense of humour and will be happy to join her on the dancefloor.

Describing her dream boyfriend, she said: “Someone who doesn’t take himself too seriously, because I don’t! A guy who makes the best out of every situation, is positive and a good dancer, because I need someone who will dance with me.”

Michaele Salahi — You’re NO Playboy Cover Model

Alleged White House crasher Michaele Salahi has finally taken her NUDE pics for Playboy — but TMZ has learned she’s just been informed by the mag that she WILL NOT be featured on the cover.

Sources involved with the spread tell us … The “Real Housewives of D.C.” star received an email from Playboy honchos informing her, “There is no opportunity this calendar year to offer you a cover opportunity or place for your pictorial.”

Playboy informed Michaele the company would instead feature her on the website — explaining, “We had hoped an issue would be available to present you in the pages of the magazine first. However, that does not seem likely and we do not want to keep them from our readers any longer.”

If it’s any consolation — the Playboy rep told Salahi the pics were, “AMAZING!”
