Lindsay Lohan isn’t taking any chances with the tsunami warning issued for Southern California — TMZ has learned she’s evacuated her Venice apartment and is heading for higher ground at The Peninsula Hotel.

We’re told Lindsay isn’t particularly concerned about her beach area pad — but her sister Ali is pretty worried — so Lindsay decided to heed her sister’s advice and temporarily stay at the Peninsula in Bev Hills.

Pregnant Jewel Involved in NASTY Two-Car Crash

Jewel — who announced she was pregnant two months ago — was involved in a two-car collision this morning in Texas … but thankfully, we’re told the singer — and her baby — are doing fine.

Sources at the scene tell TMZ … the accident occurred at around 11 AM CT in Stephenville, Texas. We’re told a volunteer fire truck SMASHED into the passenger side of Jewel’s car.

According to Jewel’s rep, “The singer was taken to the hospital and current medical tests conducted indicate that she and the baby are doing fine.”

Mel Gibson Charged with Crime, Oksana Not Charged

The L.A. County District Attorney has just filed a misdemeanor battery charge against Mel Gibson … while announcing Oksana Grigorieva will not be charged with extortion.

The misdemeanor specifically targets someone who either cohabits or has a child with the alleged victim.

TMZ broke the story, Mel will plead no contest today to the charge and will not receive jail time … but will undergo continued counseling.

The no contest plea is not an admission of guilt.

As for Oksana, her rep tells TMZ, “Ms. Grigorieva will now concentrate on co-parenting Lucia, resuming her charitable work for the children of Chernobyl and moving forward with her life.”

Mel must appear in court today for the arraignment and the plea, which will take place at 1:30 PM PT … which TMZ will livestream.

Katy Perry has stocked up her tour bus with “waffles, chocolate and beer” from Belgium

The ‘Firework’ singer performed at the Forest National arena in Brussels on Thursday night (10.03.11) and while she was in the Belgian capital she decided to buy a host of local delicacies.

She revealed on her twitter page: “Brussels … That was so fun! I have stocked my bus with lots of your cheese, waffles, chocolate & beer … Unfortunately my thighs hate you.”

But it’s not just the city’s calorific treats that Katy likes.

She admits Brussels has a special place in her heart because its name reminds her of her husband – Russell Brand.

She added in other tweets: “I especially like BRUSSELS because it has most of my hubby’s name hidden it @rustyrockets! bonus!

“Oh yeah & I LOVE Brussels sprouts too! doublebonus (sic)”

The 26-year-old pop star is currently on the European leg of her ‘California Dreams’ world tour, which heads to Germany this weekend.

Katy has never made a secret of her love of junk food.

Jessica Alba has had a “DIY” baby shower

The ‘Little Fockers’ star – who is expecting her second child with husband Cash Warren – enjoyed the celebration with several girlfriends and family and everyone had to make a decoration themselves.

Among the handmade creations were butterfly paper lanterns, paper water lilies and paper flower baskets, complete with paper flowers and dragonflies.

Jessica – who already has a two-year-old daughter Honor with Cash – revealed the private party by posting a selection of photographs of it on her Facebook page.

The 29-year-old actress revealed she and her friends decided to go down the “DIY route” because it was “more personal and fun” and they also “used a bunch of recycled materials” for the arts and crafts session.

Jessica announced she was pregnant again in a Facebook post in February.

The ‘Fantastic Four’ star said: “It’s been a while since I’ve been on FB & I thought I’d drop by to let you all in on some exciting news. Honor is going to be a Big Sister!

Jack Black Sends School Band To Disneyland!

Jack Black just dropped more than $10,000 so a group of music students could travel to Disneyland to perform in a parade tomorrow … TMZ has learned.

The whole thing came to fruition thanks to Jack’s mom — who lives in Tonasket, Washington and is a HUGE supporter of the local music programs.

We’re told the band — made up of local high school and middle school students — entered a Disneyland contest and were selected to perform at the Magic Kingdom … but there was a catch — they had to pay for their own travel expenses.

We’re told the community was rallying to raise the cash — when Jack caught wind and came through with a MONSTER donation.

The band arrived in L.A. yesterday after a two-day bus trip and will perform in the Town Square parade this afternoon. After that, we’re told the kids will all have dinner with their famous benefactor.

“And we shall teach rock ‘n’ roll to the world.”

Gallagher’s Stage Collapse — Caught on Tape

Comedian Gallagher collapsed on stage during a performance in Minnesota Thursday night … and the scary moment was all captured on video.

The footage — shot in Rochester, Minnesota at Whiskey Bones Road House — shows Gallagher slam something with his sledgehammer … then hunch over and fall backwards onto the stage.

Moments after Gallagher hits the ground, people from the audience ran on stage to help. He was transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital shortly after the incident.

A rep for Gallagher tells TMZ he is awake this morning, feeling weak, but his spirits are good. Doctors have not yet determined what happened.

Justin Bieber — Police Clearance to Wave at Fans

Liverpool police finally allowed Justin Bieber to go on his balcony and wave at the hundreds of screaming girls surrounding his hotel in England — but not everything went according to plan.

Sources close to Justin tell us … once police in Liverpool believed they could finally manage the crazy situation at the hotel … they encouraged Bieber to step out on his balcony and wave to his fans in the hopes that the screaming girls would finally go home.

But the plan did not work … and the crowd remains.

As TMZ first reported, cops initially threatened to arrest Bieber if he went on his balcony, because they were afraid he might inadvertently incite a riot.

Kate Winslet thinks the public believe she is a “fat Viking”

The 35-year-old actress – who is well known for defending her curvy figure – is often complimented on how good she looks, leading to her presuming people think of her as bigger than she is.

She said: “It seems to me I look very different from how people expect me to be.

“Clearly they think I’m a great big fat Viking. My body is different through nothing other than my being older. My clothes fit me the same way they’ve fitted me for the last five, six years. And of course I was a lot more voluptuous then.”

However, she admits she is less keen to talk about her body now because its “hypocritical”.

Kate added to Britain’s Vogue magazine: “I felt I had to defend my body and took a very public stand, which I still absolutely believe in. But I’ve stopped talking about it now. And, at a certain point, it does become hypocritical.”

Despite not wanting to talk about her figure, Kate’s face is becoming more important to her and she often notices how she is gaining wrinkles.

The ‘Revolutionary Road’ star explained: “I’m more aware of things like wrinkles on my face. They’re becoming much more pronounced, because that’s the muscle I use the most when acting. But it’s my face. So, whatever.”

The ‘Hello Good Morning’ rapper beat Jay-Z – who has an estimated wealth of $450 million – to claim the top spot in a list compiled by Forbes magazine.

The rapper and producer’s wealth is fuelled by his Sean John clothing brand, Bad Boy Worldwide record label and his vodka brand Ciroc – a joint venture with drinks brand Diageo – which generates his largest profit. Diddy – who has humble roots – recently splashed out on his son, Justin, buying him a £250,000 limousine for becoming an Honours student, but insists none of his seven children are spoiled by wealth.

He said: “Justin has turned himself around so I wanted to treat him. Maybe he will use the car for special occasions like on a first date, but like all my kids, he prefers the simpler things than the expensive things. Christina Aguilera got drunk just three days after being arrested for public intoxication – at the same venue

The 30-year-old singer and her boyfriend Matt Rutler, 25, reportedly returned to Los Angeles’ Osteria Mozza eatery – where they had been drinking prior to being arrested by police on March 1 – on March 4 where they downed wine and left seeming “tipsy”.

An onlooker told Usmagazine.com: “She acted as if the arrest never happened. When their server offered them dessert, they asked for more wine. She seemed tipsy.

“She should see the arrest as a wake-up call, but she doesn’t. She doesn’t think things are that bad. She’s nearly fall-down wasted nearly every night.”

Meanwhile, the father of Christina’s new boyfriend Matt – who was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) following the couple’s arrest – admitted he is “concerned” for his son, but insisted he does not have a serious drinking problem.

David Rutler told gossip website RadarOnline.com: “I just feel bad he got into trouble like this, but it could have happened to anyone. He really didn’t have that much to drink, he just got caught. Matt was only like .01 over the legal limit … it’s not like he was that drunk.

“There are drugs and gangs running rampant in Los Angeles, and they have a press conference about Matt. I’m concerned for both of them. I hope everything turns out OK.”

However, David went on to suggest that Matt only got behind the wheel of the couple’s vehicle because he was looking after Christina, who was described by police as being “severely intoxicated”.

Miley Cyrus has lashed out at a photographer for the second day in a row

The 18-year-old singer-and-actress was leaving a gym in West Hollywood, California, yesterday afternoon (09.03.11) when she became enraged after a paparazzo got too close her, so tried unsuccessfully to grab his camera, X17Online reports.

It comes after Miley lost her temper with a photographer on Tuesday (08.03.11) after he bumped into her mother Tish at the California Chicken Cafe.

She screamed at him: “You just rammed my mom with your camera. Don’t you ever do that again. You just almost hurt my mom. Don’t you ever even think about it.”

In 2009, Miley claimed her life was being ruined by the paparazzi and blasted photographers who follow her everywhere, as well as branding the profession “disgusting”.

The former ‘Hannah Montana’ star tweeted at the time: “Being a paparazzi is the most DISGUISTING job imaginable.

“Being followed around by creepy photographers is NOT in the job description! YOU try being stuck inside cuz creepers are waiting for u. [sic]“

Miley also revealed she has bad dreams about being photographed.

Mel Gibson will not go to jail over his January 2010 altercation with Oksana Grigorieva

The 55-year-old actor has struck a deal and will plead no contest to simple battery in a Los Angeles court on Friday (12.03.11), a lesser charge than corporal injury on a spouse, which he was originally facing.

The case relates to an incident between Mel and his former lover, Russian singer Oksana – with whom he has a 17-month old daughter, Lucia – on January 6 2010. Mel had previously said in a written declaration he slapped her during an argument because she was hysterical, but denies hitting her.

The ‘Braveheart’ actor’s sentence will see him undergo counselling and possibly probation. While Mel – who has seven other children with his ex-wife Robyn – felt he was in a strong position to win the case, his lawyer, Blair Berk, said he accepted the plea deal to escape the pressure of a long court fight. Blair said in a statement: “I know from almost 20 years as a criminal defense lawyer that sometimes justice can come for a client at too high a personal price.

“That is particularly so for Mel, whose right to due process can only be exercised in this case with an enormous media circus attached. “Mel’s priority through all of this has been that the best interests of his young daughter Lucia and the rest of his children be put first in any decisions made. It is with only that in mind that he asked me to approach the District Attorney with a proposal that would bring all of this to an immediate end.”

ABC Star — Cops Pulled a GUN On Me!!!

Romany Malco — from ABC’s “No Ordinary Family” — tells TMZ he had a gun drawn on him by a police officer last night … for no apparent reason, he claims … and he even videotaped the aftermath of the incident.

The video shows a verbal confrontation between Romany and a police officer in Hawthorne, CA — just outside L.A. — moments after she pulled him over … and approached his car with her gun drawn. Here’s what Romany says went down right before he started recording the incident.

The officer pulled him over shortly after 7PM, and Romany claims she immediately began yelling, “Roll all the windows down and put your hands out the window … everyone!!”

Romany says he grabbed his wallet and put his hands out the window — which is when he noticed the officer had her gun drawn.

Romany says he shouted, “Since you’ve made the assumption that I’m a criminal … you’ve got your gun drawn .. are you gonna shoot me? I dare you, please.”

Mike Starr — Mixing Drugs Hours Before Death

Alice in Chains bass player Mike Starr was “mixing” methadone and anxiety medication hours before he died … this according to Mike’s roommate.

The roommate tells TMZ … Mike had been using methadone recently in an effort to get sober — but he had also been taking medication to battle anxiety issues he had been suffering from since his arrest last month.

We’re told Mike was doing a pretty good job managing his medication — but according to Mike’s roommate, Starr was “mixing” the meds Monday night .. just hours before he died.

Law enforcement sources tell us Mike’s official cause of death has yet to be determined.

Starr’s roommate added, “Mike was a beautiful person who was fighting to stay sober … I am going to miss him greatly.”

Alleged White House crasher Tareq Salahi is hinting that he may SUE “Celebrity Rehab” … claiming the show illegally fired his wife because of her “health condition.”

It’s unclear what “condition” Tareq is referring to — but Michaele has said in the past that she suffers from multiple sclerosis.

Tareq and his lawyers have issued a statement saying, “[Michaele] was fired due to her health condition which is a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.”

We got Lindsay Tuesday night going to her agent’s office and asked if she’d accept a plea deal — which the judge has already said would involve jail time. Lindsay appears to nod in the negative.

It’s an interesting situation … we’ve learned Lindsay’s lawyer, Shawn Holley and prosecutor Danette Meyers are meeting with Judge Keith Schwartz Wednesday to discuss a plea bargain. Judge Schwartz has made it clear — any plea deal will put Lindsay behind bars … the only question is for how long.

Lindsay must appear in court on Thursday. If she doesn’t accept a plea deal, the case will assigned to Judge Stephanie Sautner for trial, and the stakes for Lindsay then go up dramatically.

A $35 million lawsuit against Paris Hilton which alleged she failed to promote a range of hair extensions has been dropped

The 30-year-old socialite was accused of missing a launch party for HairTech International products in 2007, and was also seen wearing a competitor’s extensions.

The company had paid her $3.5 million to be the face of their Dream Catchers range of clip-in locks.

However, the company’s founder and CEO Chris Volek has now admitted the allegations were wrong and has dropped the case against her.

The blonde star – who had countersued for $2.1 million in damages and had missed the launch party because she was in jail for violating the terms of her probation as a result of a reckless driving charge – admits she is pleased with the decision.

She said: “It is certainly not unusual for businesspeople to have their disagreements, but I am glad that Chris has acknowledged the hard work and dedication I put into promoting his products.”

Discussing why he had dropped the case, Chris – who had claimed her failure to turn up to the party had lost the company $6.6 million in lost revenue on its own – confessed the information he had received about her actions had been incorrect.

He said in a statement: “The information I received from others and on which I based the lawsuit was not accurate.”

Venus Williams — Booze Cruise Karaoke Jam

Venus Williams got her karaoke on in front of a cruise ship full of screaming fans of the band 311 … and we’ve got the whole thing on video — choreography included.

TMZ obtained footage of the awesome performance shot last week on a Carnival Cruise in the Caribbean, hosted by 311. In the clip, Venus and two friends are singing “You Wouldn’t Believe” — and they even threw in some dance moves.

Turns out Venus’ group was randomly chosen to be in the karaoke contest — which was judged by 311’s lead singer.
