Carrie Underwood turns to cleaning when her husband is away at hockey games.

The country music star tied the knot with ice hockey player Mike Fisher last July and although she loves married life with him in Ottowa, Canada, the 27-year-old beauty admitted she often gets bored when her spouse is playing in a different city.

She said: “It is hard being a hockey wife. They will go off for a few days at a time to play some road games, and I am just like sitting at home twiddling my thumbs thinking, ‘What do I do?’

“I cleaned, and we are moving into a new house, and so I was unpacking all of his stuff. And laundry and dishes.”

Carrie was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Song for her track ‘There’s A Place For Us’, eventually losing out to Diane Warren with ‘You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me’ at last night’s (17.01.11) ceremony and even though Mike couldn’t make it to Los Angeles with her, she revealed he was cheering her on from home.

She explained to People magazine: “Even though he’s not here with me tonight, I know he’s watching. And just to have somebody that I know is 1,000 per cent cheering me on, it’s really nice to have that kind of support.”

James Franco credits Kirsten Dunst with helping save his life.

The 32-year-old actor was advised by his ‘Spider-Man 3’ co-star to volunteer for charity Art of Elysium – with helps children serious medical conditions – at a time in his life when he wanted to assist others but was unsure what to do.

He recalled: “Kirsten said, ‘You know I volunteer with this group called Art of Elysium’ and said to come help out.

“It was funny because I was seeing a therapist at the time, and I told him I just wanted to find a place where I could give back. I didn’t know what I could give. All I did was act and I didn’t want to teach that.

“I went and started volunteering at the hospital. Anyways, the experience really saved my life.”

The ‘127’ hours actor picked up the Spirit of Elysium awards from the charity on Saturday (15.01.11) at the Art of Elysium Heaven Gala in Los Angeles and also told the star-studded crowd of charity helpers and supporters – including Gerard Butler, Jake Gyllenhaal, Nicole Richie, Rachel Bilson and Elijah Wood – of how Kirsten rejected a play he had written with one of the children the organisation helps.

He said: “I met my friend David and we wrote a play together for the holiday party, it was an amazing play. And my dear friend Kirsten Dunst turned it down and we ended up doing something about the Grinch.”

Rick Fox Busted — Traveling Violation

Rick Fox could end up paying the City of Los Angeles nearly $500 — because TMZ has learned, the ex-NBA star got popped for running a red light recently … and the cop didn’t let him off with a warning.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, Fox — who was driving a brand new BMW 7 Series — was cruising around west L.A. when he accidentally stopped too late at a red light … and had to proceed through the intersection.

We’re told a cop saw the whole thing and pulled Fox over, citing him for running the red.

The ticket itself costs $446 … but with traffic school, the final bill could be a lot more.

Colin Firth was named Best Actor at last night’s (16.01.11) Golden Globes

The 50-year-old actor was given the prestigious accolade for his portrayal of stammering British monarch King George VI in ‘The King’s Speech’ and had the audience at Los Angeles’ Beverly Hilton Hotel in fits of laughter as he accepted the award.

He quipped: “To get to this stage of your life with your dignity and judgment intact can be somewhat precarious.

“Sometimes all you need is a bit of gentle reassurance to keep you on track but right now this (the award) is all that stands between me and a Harley Davidson.”

While Colin was named Best Actor, Natalie Portman received the accolade for Best Actress for her portrayal of a tortured ballerina in ‘Black Swan’.

The 29-year-old beauty – who is expecting her first baby with fiance Benjamin Millepied – said: “Thank you to my parents for bringing me into this world and giving me this beautiful life. And thank you to Benjamin for helping me to bring more creation into the world.”

The ‘Social Network’ – about the creation of the Facebook website – was named Best Picture in the drama category and also won prizes for Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Original Score.

TV musical phenomenon ‘Glee’ was named Best TV Musical or Comedy while two of its stars, Chris Colfer and Jane Lynch, picked up awards for supporting actor and actress respectively.

Other winners at the star-studded ceremony – which was hosted by Ricky Gervais – included Melissa Leo, Christian Bale and Annette Bening.

Gemma Arterton wants to work with Darren Aronofsky

The ‘Tamara Drewe’ actress cites the director’s ballet thriller ‘Black Swan’ as her favourite movie of the last 12 months and has issued an open plea for her to find a part for him in his next movie.

She said: “I loved ‘Black Swan’ and I’ve always loved Darren Aronofsky. It reminded me of ‘Requiem for a Dream’. And Natalie Portman is incredible in it. I really loved it.”

However Gemma – who has starred in blockbusters ‘Clash of the Titans’ and ‘Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time’ revealed she finds it difficult to convince her favourite directors to work with her because she is too “mainstream”.

When asked if she would like to work with Darren, she said: “Yes, of course! It always makes me laugh because my favourite directors are quite obscure – Darren Aronofsky, Michael Haneke, Lars Von Trier. But I haven’t got to work with them, I suppose because I’m quite mainstream.”

Gemma also admitted she was surprised to be nominated for a BAFTA Rising Star Award because she considers herself an “old timer”.

She said: “Rising star? I’m a bit of an old-timer now! I only left drama school three years ago so I’m still quite new, but some people might be thinking, ‘Oh no, not her again…

The ‘Little Fockers’ star’s girlfriend Jade Duell gave birth to a healthy baby boy who they have named Ford Linton Wilson on Friday (14.01.11) in Hawaii.

The baby, who weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces, was reportedly born naturally via a water birth at their oceanfront home in Maui, with Jade’s labour lasting 18 hours.

A source told perezhilton.com: “Owen and Jade are thrilled! Owen has been doing a celebratory hula dance all afternoon! It’s a beautiful boy and everyone is incredibly happy!”

Jade’s pregnancy had been a secret until this week, with it only announced on Monday (10.01.11) that Jade was pregnant.

A source told at that time how first time dad Owen, 42, was “very excited and involved” in the pregnancy, adding: “He has been doing research and learning as much as he can.

“He’s super into it and asks a lot of questions to make sure he knows what’s going on every step of the way.”

Jade’s uncle, John Duell, has said her whole family is “thrilled” about the news, and it is thought her parents flew to Hawaii to be with her for the birth.

Jade and Owen have been dating for over a year, and it is not known if they plan to marry, but Owen has previously given some insight into how he realised Jade could be the one for him.

He said: “When you stop talking about yourself and you’re more open to listening to what they’re interested in and what they want to talk, that’s how you know.

The glamour model has branded her cage fighting spouse of 11 months a “fame hungry sponger” and reportedly banished him to a dressing room in her mansion in Surrey, Southern England.

Katie, 32, reportedly told friends: “I need him out of my house, and I need him out of my life for good. I convinced myself that I was in love with him, but looking back I probably wasn’t.”

Katie has made it clear her marriage is over and reportedly prepared a statement, but withheld it after Alex, 35, begged her for more time to discuss their relationship and come to terms with the split.

The 22-year-old British singer is such a big fan of the US musical drama series, she couldn’t bring herself to meet with Amber Riley and Chris Colfer – who play Mercedes and Kurt – when they came to the UK.

She admitted: “I f***ing love ‘Glee’, love, love, love ‘Glee’.

“I was meant to meet Amber and Chris the last time they were in London but I kept saying I was too busy because I was so nervous.

The ‘Clueless’ actress is to have her first child with husband, musician Christopher Jarecki, it was announced last night (14.01.11).

The 34-year-old actress has not said when her due date is, but was spotted trying to hide a “considerable” baby bump as she dined in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, on Thursday (13.01.11).

Alicia told how she has longed for a baby last year, saying: “I’ve been wanting to have a baby since I was two years old – I‘m destined to be a mother.”

She also explained how appearing in stage play ‘Time Stands Still‘ in New York last year – where she played a pregnant lady – only served to increase her broodiness.

She said: “Wearing a pregnancy suit was so much fun. I loved the feeling of pretending to be pregnant and having little arms and legs and this big belly.”

Alicia and Chris, 40, wed in June 2005 in California after eight years together.

As well as acting Alicia has also written a vegan cookbook ‘The Kind Diet‘, and is presently working on three films, ‘Vamps’ ,’Butter’ and ‘Homework’.

Colin Firth and Natalie Portman were named Best Actor and Actress at last nights (14.01.11) VH1 Critics Choice Awards

The British actor took away the trophy for his role as Britain’s stammering King Edward VI in ‘The King’s Speech’, while Natalie was awarded for her portrayal of ballet dancer Nina Sayers in ‘Black Swan’.

Accepting her award, Natalie thanked director Darren Aaronofsky not only for his work on the film, but for introducing her to fiance, choreographer Benjamin Millepied, with whom she is now expecting a baby.

Addressing Darren, she said: “You are responsible for getting me skinny and indirectly responsible for getting me very fat, as you introduced me to my love.”

The awards are one of the first of the season, and seen by many as an indicator as to who will triumph at the Golden Globes – held tomorrow (16.01.11) – and the Oscars.

Referring to the spate of awards shows ion coming weeks, Colin said: “I will be wearing this around my neck to give me magical powers as we all enter the fray again.”

Meanwhile the biggest winners of the night were ‘Inception’ and ‘The Social Network’, with the former – a psychological thriller starring Leonardo Di Caprio – taking home six awards, including Best Action Movie, and the latter taking home he prestigious Best Picture accolade.

‘The Social Network’ was directed by David Fincher and stars Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield and Justin Timerlake, and gives a fictional account of the establishment of social networking site, based around the story of internet site Facebook.

Other award winners included Christian Bale and Melissa Leo, who scooped Best Supporting Actor and Actress respectively for ‘The Fighter’, about boxer Dicky Ward, and Hailee Steinfeld, who was named Best Young Actor for her part in cowboy remake ‘True Grit’.

Camille Grammer: Schizo On ‘Housewives’ Decision

Camille Grammer is leaning toward “walking away” from “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” — so says a source closely connected with C.G. … and we’ve learned it’s not the first time she’s thrown in the towel.

Sources involved in the production of the show tell TMZ Camille walked off the show several times during the taping, saying she was “done with the show.” In at least one case, scenes had to be shot without her. But every time, Camille had a change of heart and returned.

As TMZ first reported, Camille’s lawyer, Larry Stein, got Bravo to give her an “out” for Season 2, at her option … and she has ’til the end of the month to exercise it. We’re told Camille will wait to see how she’s portrayed in the reunion show before making her decision. Bravo hasn’t officially announced Season 2 is a go, but it seems like a foregone conclusion.

As one person connected with the show tells TMZ, “She’s crazy. She changes her mind from one minute to the next. Whatever she says now means nothing because she thinks something different tomorrow. Who knows.”

Lindsay Lohan Case — Over and Out?

The lawyer for the woman who accused Lindsay Lohan of battering her says he’s been told … if his client submits a declaration to the D.A. stating she’s not pursuing the case, the investigation will be dropped … And she just submitted the declaration.

Dawn Holland, who has been fired from Betty Ford, says in the declaration — obtained by TMZ — “I do not desire Ms. Lohan prosecuted for the events of December 12, 2010,” adding, “I will not answer any questions to any policing or prosecutorial agencies regarding the events of December 12, 2010.”

Holland’s lawyer, Keith Davidson, tells TMZ, the D.A.’s Office informed him today … if such a declaration were filed, the case against Lindsay would be rejected.

The declaration follows an angry letter Davidson sent to the D.A., scolding prosecutors for trying to interview his client after she repeatedly told them she wanted nothing to do with the case.

The D.A.’s Office had no comment and says the matter is still under review.

Zsa Zsa Out of Surgery, Leg Successfully Amputated

Zsa Zsa Gabor’s leg has successfully been amputated by doctors at UCLA Medical Center … TMZ has learned.

According to one of Zsa Zsa’s doctors, three quarters of her leg was removed during the surgery today — starting from just above her knee.

We’re told there were no unexpected difficulties and she’s expected to heal just fine — but docs are monitoring her closely because of her age.

As we previously reported Zsa Zsa’s husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt green-lit the procedure to remove a life-threatening infection.

No word yet on when she’ll be released.

Dr. Murray — Hey Everyone, I’m SUSPENDED!

Dr. Conrad Murray was SUPER quick to follow court orders this week … taking just ONE DAY to inform Nevada and Texas that his medical license had been yanked in California.

As we previously reported, L.A. County Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor ordered the suspension of Murray’s California medical license Tuesday as a condition to the Doc’s bail in the Michael Jackson manslaughter case.

Murray was also ordered to inform the medical boards in Texas and Nevada — where he also practices — about his suspension.

According to docs obtained by TMZ, Murray completed his task the following day … and now TX and NV will decide if they will follow California’s lead and also prohibit Murray from practicing medicine.

A decision from each state is expected soon.

Brenda Strong Files For Divorce

Brenda Strong — the dead woman whose voice lives on from “Desperate Housewives” … has filed for divorce.

The final curtain on Strong’s marriage to Tom Henri came down today, when Brenda cited “irreconcilable differences” on her divorce petition, filed in L.A. County Superior Court.

Strong and Henri, a yoga instructor, have been married since 1989. They have a teenage son.

Strong plays Mary Alice Young on the show.

Gary Busey Allegedly Set Up in Bogus DUI Sting

Two people were arrested in Malibu yesterday after allegedly setting up Gary Busey for a DUI bust and then taking pictures of the police encounter.

Busey was driving on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu when cops pulled him over … because they were told he was driving drunk.

Turns out … cops got the tip from a couple who claimed they saw Busey driving his Mercedes erratically.

When cops went after Busey’s car the couple followed and parked behind the cop car when Busey was stopped.

Cops determined Busey “was perfectly sober” and then noticed the couple — Patrice Karst and Mark Abel — were taking pictures of the action.

According to deputies, the couple identified themselves as members of the press. Cops asked them to stop taking photos, but they refused.

The L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies arrested the couple for obstructing a peace officer in his duties.

“Dancing with the Stars” execs are currently locked in negotiations to bring a “Renegade” and a “Baywatch” babe to the ballroom next season … TMZ has learned.

Sources connected with the show tell us Lorenzo Lamas and Donna D’Errico have been contacted by the DWTS people … and are “in talks” about a possible deal.

“Jersey Shore” star Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVelcchio has inked a deal to produce a line of T-shirts, TooFab has exclusively learned.

The T-shirt collection, called “Dirty Beats,” will be produced by the company Dirty Couture. But DJ Pauly D isn’t just lending his name to the collection: Sources tell TooFab that he’s signed a deal for 50 percent ownership in the clothing company with his childhood friend and business partner, Pasquale Dippo.

Sources add that DJ Pauly D has turned down other clothing endorsement deals, since they wouldn’t have allowed him to be in direct control of the product.

DJ Pauly D is involved with the day-to-day operations of the business, including design. He’s even had the company’s signature star logo tattooed on his elbow!

Paris Hilton will show her “real” self in her new TV show

The 29-year-old heiress has promised ‘The World According to Paris‘ – which will air on US network Oxygen in the spring –will show her how she really is, unlike the “character” she created to appear with pal Nicole Richie on ‘The Simple Life’ between 2003 and 2007.

She said: “On ‘The Simple Life’, I was playing a character I kind of invented. I didn’t realise the show would last five seasons, so I had to keep doing it. I think people assume that’s really how I am in real life. But when I’m with my friends and my family is when I feel most comfortable and myself. In the show, it really shows the real Paris.”

Paris has been followed round-the-clock by cameras since October and the socialite believes the show will give a true account of her “crazy and fearless” life.

She told The Hollywood Reporter: “There are so many crazy things on the show, but one of the craziest is jumping out of a plane and skydiving,

“I’m fearless, and I live life to the fullest and feel like you only live once so you should make the most of it. Jumping out of a plane is the most incredible feeling in the world.

“We’ve been shooting since October-November, and it’s whole access into my life. I’m shooting from the moment I wake up until I go to bed at night.

“I kind of scream at them sometimes when they come in so early.”

Paris – who is dating Las Vegas nightclub boss Cy Waits – also revealed some conversations and arguments have been recorded that she “can’t believe the world is going to see” – and that some special guests will appear on the show.

She explained: “So far there’s two, and we’re not even halfway done shooting.”
