Sophie Monk (born 14 December 1979) is an English born Australian pop singer, actress and model. She was once a member of female pop group Bardot and has since established a solo career with the release of an album, Calendar Girl. More recently, she turned her hand to acting, appearing in films such as Date Movie and Click.
Sophie starred in her debut feature role as the flirtatious and seductive ‘best man’ Andy in the spoof comedy Date Movie in 2006. In 2005 Sophie successfully auditioned for the role of Andy in Spoof Comedy Date Movie. Filming took place in Los Angeles, California in late 2005. The film stars Alyson Hannigan and Jennifer Coolidge. The film was released on February 17, 2006. Despite extremely negative reviews, the film was a box office success earning worldwide $84,795,656. This was Sophie’s first theatrical role.
Sophie also starred in the Adam Sandler comedy Click portraying Stacey, a flirtatious, bimbo secretary who she described in an interview as “… kind of a floozy that kind of just works there because she gets around a bit. Another serious character”. In 2007 She made her American television debut in the Golden Globe Award-Winning HBO Comedy series Entourage in the episode “The Day Fuckers”. Sophie also had a small role portraying Cynthia Rose in Sex and Death 101.
