Ryan Reynolds has been named the Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine

The ‘Proposal’ actor – who is married to actress Scarlett Johansson, who was named Babe of the Year by GQ magazine this week – was awarded the title by the publication in their annual list and, although he expects to be teased by his family about the accolade, he is hoping to boast about the title to strangers.

He said: “You just have to go with the flow. This gives my family entre into teasing me for the rest of my life.

“Now it’s going to be, ‘Sexiest man, take out the garbage.’ That does sound better. The most difficult part is going to be organically working this title into a conversation with random strangers.”

While Ryan has been named Sexiest Man Alive, he admits he has to work hard to maintain his toned physique.

He joked to People: “My body naturally wants to look like Dick Van Dyke. When I stop training, I turn into a skin-coloured whisper.”

Other stars to feature in the list include ‘Mad Men’ actor John Hamm, ‘Twilight Saga’ hunk Kellan Lutz, actor-turned-rapper Drake and ‘Glee’ star Matthew Morrison, who made up the top five.

Making up the rest of the top 10 were Jon Bon Jovi, ‘True Blood’ star Joe Manganiello, Robert Downey Jr. and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Jesse Williams.

Meanwhile, the publication also ran a poll on social networking website Facebook, where fans voted Vin Diesel – who placed eleventh in the magazine’s own list – as their Sexiest Man Alive.

The 43-year-old actor took the title over Jersey Shore’s Paul ‘Pauly D’ DelVecchio and Enrique Iglesias, who polled second and third place respectively.

People will publish its full list of the Sexiest Men Alive in their next issue which hits newsstands on Friday (19.11.10).

Demi Lovato wants to leave rehab next week.

The 18-year-old star – who is currently being treated for “emotional and physical issues” in an unnamed facility – reportedly wants to be with her family for Thanksgiving (25.11.10) and has asked to go home for the holiday.

A source told E! News: “She is getting better. She doesn’t want to be in the centre for Thanksgiving and wants to go home.”

Though Demi – who entered rehab voluntarily at the beginning of November – wants to leave the facility before the end of this month, she doesn’t plan to return to work immediately.

Disney are hoping she recommences filming her TV show ‘Sonny With a Chance’ early next year, but will not pressure her to come back until she is ready, and have also shelved plans for her to record an album until she is completely well.

The source added: “They’re still committed to her. No one is abandoning her. But she is holding off on her music for a bit.

“There are a lot of people who never heard of Demi Lovato before this and if she can get through this, she will come back stronger and bigger than ever.”

He said: “The reality is, she was 18 when I met her and she went through an enormous change in her life… just her career in general and going from being a girl who – when I met her, she was living in New York doing ‘Hope & Faith’ and we’d go to restaurants and I was the person everybody would recognise and point and laugh at or whatever.

“And all of a sudden that turned around and she couldn’t go anywhere and her name and her face were everywhere. So, she went through the natural period of, ‘I’m not sure if I’m ready to be in such a settled relationship.’

“I didn’t want her to feel like she was stuck because she said she wanted to be in a relationship to begin with and we just never really went in different directions. We’d say, ‘Oh, let’s kind of take a break and see what’s going on.’ It always came back together.”

Another reason Brian briefly split with Megan was because he was concerned she was taking on too much as he had a son from a previous relationship.

He said: “I have an eight-year-old, he was two at the time, when Megan and I met. She helped me raise him and it’s a huge responsibility. There was a lot to it.”

Despite their short break-up, the couple – who married in Hawaii in June – are now happier than ever with Brian gushing to US TV show ‘Access Hollywood’: “She’s amazing.”

The 29-year-old pop star – who filed for divorce from her spouse in October – is determined not to be weighed down by regrets and is now focused on ensuring that she and her two-year-old son Max are happy.

She said: “I’m looking forward to the next chapter. I’m a smart girl. There are decisions that I make for reasons, and the most important thing is that my son is happy and he always will be. He’s surrounded by love.”

The singer-and-actress is planning on using the heartache she has felt because of her marriage breakdown to inspire a new collection of songs.

Rachel Stevens has given birth to a baby girl

The former-S Club 7 singer and husband Alex Bourne welcomed their first child, who they have named Amelie, into the world this morning (16.11.10) and mother and baby are “doing really well”.

A statement released to BANG Showbiz read: “Rachel Stevens and Alex Bourne are delighted to announce the birth of their daughter Amelie. She arrived this morning at 2.05am; mother and baby are both doing really well.”

Rachel, 32, announced her pregnancy in May and said she was delighted at the prospect of becoming a mother.

She said: “We are thrilled and so excited about becoming parents.”

She has previously revealed she was very keen to start a family with Alex, although she was unsure what kind of mother she would be.

She said: “We’d absolutely love to have children. I think having children is the most amazing thing.

‘I don’t think I can tell what kind of mum I’d be until I go through it. It’s such a life-changing thing. But I do have a little niece and nephew so I can just about change a nappy. Alex would be a great dad – he’s very hands-on.”

The ‘Harry Potter’ actor admits he has “not much idea” of how much money he has from starring in the film series – one of the most successful movie franchises of all time – but has used his riches to collect a number of unorthodox vehicles, which also includes an ice-cream van, and a pink BMX.

The red-haired star said: “I don’t really like to blend in. I like standing out. I can’t really deal with the money thing. But it’s nice knowing that I don’t ever have to really worry about anything.

“I’ve got a hovercraft. It’s quite strange to drive, but I have fun with it. The orange Range Rover just seemed like a good idea at the time. I don’t even think about the connection with being ginger.”

Although Rupert enjoys splashing out on unusual vehicles, the 22-year-old star admits he hasn’t used his ice cream van as often as he expected to because it is quite difficult to manoeuvre.

He explained to Radio Times magazine: “It’s just something I’ve always wanted when I was a kid. I don’t really use it as much as I thought I would. I used to have stock in it, but not so much now. It’s not the most practical vehicle. It’s only got one seat. It’s basically a kitchen.”

Britain’s Prince William is to marry Kate Middleton

The 28-year-old royal – who is second in line to throne behind his father the Prince of Wales – will marry 28-year-old Kate next year following a secret engagement during a holiday to Kenya last month, Clarence House have confirmed.

A statement read: “The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton.

“The wedding will take place in either spring or summer next year in London. Further details about the date and venue will be released in due course.”

The pair began dating eight years ago while they both studied at St. Andrews University in Fife, Scotland.

William – the eldest son of Charles and the late Princess Diana – has previously revealed he planned to get married at the age of 28 or 29, although later said he regretted the statement.

He said: “I was young, I’d had a few drinks… what can I say? I wish I had kept my big mouth shut!”

Freida Pinto is happy she had so many rejections before becoming famous

The Mumbai-born actress auditioned for hundreds of roles before achieving fame in the 2008 Oscar-winning movie `Slumdog Millionaire’ but insists her bad experiences made her the person she is today.

She said: “I’m glad things happened the way they happened. I needed to be rejected, and I needed to learn that it’s part of the game. I said, `It’s okay. I can have 100 rejections, but I’m sure there’s going to be one particular thing that is almost destined for me to have, and I am going to have it.’

As well as thinking her rejections led her down her current career path, Freida, 26, is relieved about some of the roles she missed out on because they would have left her filled with regret.

She told Interview magazine: “Some of those things I got rejected for, I look back and say, `Oh, my god, I’m so happy that happened. There would be a lot of things I would have regretted.

“I used to go for these crazy auditions and they’d have the most stupid, silly scripts. My heart was never in it. I would go and try to do what I could, and then a short list would come out. Every day I was on the short list I would have a bad day-I’d be very moody and on edge. At the same time, I thought, `What would happen if I made it to the final list? Maybe that would be my ticket.’ But deep down in my heart I always had doubts, and I think when you have doubts, you just say no.

The ‘Cheaper by the Dozen’ star also revealed her favourite part of the day was saying her vows, but admits she was trembling when she said them.

The 20-year-old British star has worked alongside Daniel Radcliffe as boy wizard Harry and Rupert Grint who played his sidekick Ron Weasley for ten years and six previous films; and added she enjoyed a glimpse of youthful abandon when filming a dancing scene with Daniel for the latest movie.

She added: ‘It was nice to be able to do that again and be light hearted and feel like a kid again.’

‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ is the final chapter in the Harry Potter’s adventures and is split into two films, which completed filming earlier this year, and Daniel said earlier yesterday he’s ready to move on.

He told BBC Radio 2: ‘We’ve been through a lot but it’s been mainly positive, we all know how lucky we are to have been through so much and at such a young age to have been given this opportunity, I think we all count our blessings in that respect.

‘We were all very sad to finish but, the way I coped with it was to dive into another film.’

He also joked the fame he has gained through the films has made him ‘gently eccentric’.

He added: ‘I am crazy, but in subtle ways. I like to think of myself as gently eccentric, rather than full-blown insane.

‘In terms of the not being crazy thing, I think it comes down to having very good parents and good people around you.’

Emma Watson feels as though she has “retired”.

The 20-year-old actress – who is currently studying at Brown University in America – was left feeling bereft following the end of filming ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts I and II’, the seventh and eighth movies in the wizarding franchise.

She said: “I’m going to say something really sad. Knowing that there’s still more to come from me – it feels very strange to feel like you’re retiring when you’re 20 years old. But it does feel that way. I’ve spent 10 years making these movies and I just hope that the second part of my life is as incredible as the first half.”

Though she is sad about the end of filming, Emma – who plays brain box witch Hermione Granger in the popular series – will have a permanent reminder of her stint after revealing she has a “serious collection” of bibles which she is often sent by well-meaning fans.

She explained on UK TV show ‘Daybreak’: “I think people just think we need guidance, you know? It is slightly strange, I do have quite a serious collection of them now.”

The brunette beauty also spoke about how much she is enjoying student life.

She said: “I work hard, I work really hard. I do really enjoy it so that helps.”

Gwyneth Paltrow made her live singing debut last night (10.11.10).

The actress – who is married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin – sang the title song from her upcoming movie ‘Country Strong’ at the 44th Annual Country Music Awards (CMAs) in Nashville, Tennessee, receiving a standing ovation for her efforts.

Wearing an Atelier Versace gown, Gwyneth – who played the guitar alongside country singer Vince Gill – earlier admitted she had to calm her nerves with alcohol.

She said: “I went to a great bar and I had a pint of Guinness. That’s my new ritual. I’m feeling good!”

During her live performance she smiled at the crowd and closed her eyes, before dissolving into laughter at the end.

Gwyneth was not the only star to perform at the awards last night – Taylor Swift sang ‘Back to December’ while Carrie Underwood played twice.

The former ‘American Idol’ winner – who hosted the event – opened the show with ‘Songs Like This’, backed by her co-host Bob Paisley on guitar and Keith Urban on banjo, and later sang ballad ‘Mama’s Song’.

Both Bob and Keith later returned for their own solo performances.

Miranda Lambert was the big winner of the night, pickling up Best Female Vocalist, Song of the Year and Music Video of the Year for ‘The House that Built Me’, and Best Album for ‘Revolution’, while vocal group Lady Antebellum and singer Blake Shelton picked up two awards.

Taylor, 20, also broke a record to become the youngest person ever to pick up the Country Songwriter of the Year.

Demi Lovato has been accused of being a heavy drinker and cocaine user.

The 18-year-old Disney singer and actress was recently admitted to rehab with “emotional and psychological issues”, and a source claims her wild partying ways may have contributed to her present state.

US college student Brian Payne said he witnessed Demi snorting cocaine at a party, after they had both been to see band Neon Indian in her hometown, Dallas, just after Christmas last year.

He told Lifeandstylemag.com: “She was doing line after line like a pro – and she was 17 at the time.

“I just remember her doing it as if she had been doing it for a long time. It didn’t seem like something new to her.”

Another source close to the ‘La La Land’ singer said she has dealt badly with her recent split from pop singer Joe Jonas – whom she was performing on tour alongside at the time she was admitted to rehab.

The source said: “Demi’s been on a tear lately. She’ll chug booze straight from the bottle (sic).”

Demi’s family have yet to respond to allegations she is a heavy drinker or cocaine user, but her estranged father, Patrick Lovato, previously said he blames the pressures of fame were “one of the things I worried about when she signed with Disney.”

Other members of Demi’s family have, however, blasted Patrick; saying he “knows nothing” about his daughter, and she herself said last year she hadn’t spoken to him for two years.
