Courteney Cox worries about getting older and not being a “hot young thing”

The 46-year-old actress – who recently announced a trial separation from her husband David Arquette after 11 years together – has days when she gets “down” on herself about her appearance.

She said: “Sometimes it’s a battle to accept you’re no longer the hot young thing. To realise you don’t attract people in the same way, it can be a bit sad.

“It’s nice to feel sexy, even if it’s only a matter of perception. There are days when I get out of bed and look in the mirror and think I look awful. I get down on myself. But other days I get up and I feel happy.”

Courteney has also played down suggestions she and David will definitely divorce, insisting they both need some time to assess their relationship.

But she is adamant they are both totally committed to raising their six-year-old daughter Coco.

She added in an interview with OK! magazine: “We are trying to get some perspective, we have to take time to work things out for ourselves. I want to be as calm and together as I can be.

“We want to be close and harmonious for Coco. She needs to know we still love her and we still love each other, but right now we can’t all be together the way we were before. We’ve still been having dinner together and making this as easy for her as we can.”

Despite worrying about getting older, Courtney has been given a confidence boost by her role in TV series ‘Cougar Town’ - in which she plays divorcee Jules Cobb who dates younger men.

She said: “The producers have been great putting me in relationships with very handsome younger men. It’s a nice boost to the ego.”

Nicole Scherzinger isn’t ready for marriage

The ‘Poison’ singer doesn’t think the time is yet right for her and British Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton to tie the knot because they are perfectly “happy” as they are.

Asked if she would like to wed Lewis, she said: “Erm. No, I don’t. I mean, right now we’re just really happy where we are.”

The Pussycat Dolls star also revealed she doesn’t worry about Lewis when she watches him drive at incredibly high speeds in grand prix races.

She added in an interview with heat magazine: “I guess it’s hard for me to comment, because I couldn’t possibly imagine what it’s like for him. I don’t have anything to compare it to. I have my, you know, Mercedes, which I don’t go very fast in.

“But I’m extremely supportive of him and his career and very proud of him. I’m always going to be his number one fan.”

Although they are both very talented in their respective fields, the 32-year-old pop star has revealed he is a much better cook than her.

She said: “I tried to grill a steak once for my sister and it was horrible. It was burnt on one side and frozen on the inside.

“I definitely don’t think I could do what my boyfriend does, that’s for sure.”

Jennifer Aniston hosted a Mexican-themed Thanksgiving bash for 15 friends

The 41-year-old actress is said to have flown a group of close pals out on two private jets to her lavish estate in the Mexican resort of Cabo San Lucas, where they spent the holiday (25.11.10) “eating, drinking and relaxing”.

While the ‘Bounty Hunter’ star indulged in plenty of food and drink during the break, she also made sure she worked out every day.

An onlooker told People magazine: “Jennifer spent the trip enjoying herself with her friends – relaxing, drinking and eating. But she also worked out every day, including yoga sessions with Mandy Ingber.

“She looked amazingly fit and seemed to have a great time just relaxing and hanging out with her friends.”

The star’s yoga coach Mandy – as well as her manager Aleen Keshishian and chat show host Chelsea Handler – were reportedly just some of the guests flown out to Mexico for the bash, where they enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal that included chips, salsas and margaritas.

Despite being known for her strict diet and exercise regime, Jennifer recently admitted she is a big fan of Mexican cuisine.

When quizzed on what she would have for her last meal, she said: “It’d be chips and guacamole, quesadillas, enchiladas and a big tostada salad – and nachos!”

Daniel Radcliffe is the richest British star under 30

The ‘Harry Potter’ actor has made an estimated £45.6 million, £25 million of which comes from the final two films in the series ‘The Deathly Hallows’, alone, almost £15 million more than the second-placed star, 25-year-old Keira Knightley, who has made a fortune of £30.1 million so far.

Four of the top five money-makers in the list compiled by heat magazine come from the wizard movie series made famous by Daniel, with Emma Watson and Rupert Grint making £20.6 million and £19 million respectively.

‘Twilight: Saga’ actor Robert Pattinson – who appeared in ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ – was placed fifth, having earned £18.5 million so far.

Britain’s highest earning music star is ‘Bleeding Love’ singer Leona Lewis, who has generated a £12.5 million fortune since winning ‘The X Factor’ in 2006, placing her in sixth place.

Heat editor Sam Delaney said the list proved not all rich people are “corrupt, cigar-chomping fat cats”.

He said: “In these tight financial times, there’s a great deal of animosity felt towards society’s richest. But who could possibly resent the millions earned by a charming young rascal like Daniel Radcliffe?

Oksana to Mel: I Just Can’t Quit You

TMZ has obtained emails sent from Oksana Grigorieva to Mel Gibson in the months following their nuclear argument on January 6 … and she sounds very much like a woman scorned.

In an email sent on March 30, Oksana writes Mel, “I don’t belive (sic) that u stopped loving me just in one phonecall. U either stopped loving me a long time ago or u still love me.”

Oksana accuses Mel’s estranged wife, Robyn, and daughter, Hanna, of turning Mel against her, writing, “…it’s easier to blame the outsider, ur love, completely unpretected (sic). So u betray me.”

Oksana adds, “Love like that doesn’t die so quickly.”

And in another email, dated May 2, Oksana writes, “Until this morning I was still missing you so much and secretly wanted and hoped for us to be together again,” adding, “I still believed that you loved me, but now I dont. I think you knew what was going on.”

In the May 2 email, Oksana goes on: “I see now, that you seemply (sic) growen (sic) tired of me a while ago, but you were too weak to tell me.”

The emails are significant, because they show a woman in hot pursuit more than someone who fears for her safety — the latter being the reason her lawyers say she secretly taped Mel.

Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga and Justin Timberlake are giving up twitter

The stars are signing off from all social media platforms, and will not return until an AIDS charity – Keep a Child Alive, which is spearheaded by Alicia – has raised $1 million.

For the campaign, the stars have filmed “last tweet and testament” videos and will appear in adverts showing them lying in coffins to represent their ‘digital deaths’.

Alicia will also be joined by her husband Swizz Beatz, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Ryan Seacrest, Elijah Wood, Serena Williams in the campaign, which will start on Wednesday (01.12.10), which is World AIDS Day.

Alicia said no one she has approached had turned her down, explaining: “Once I got people on the phone and I was able to paint the concept for them, everybody was in.”

Leigh Blake, who is president and co-founder of the charity, added: “We’re trying to sort of make the remark: Why do we care so much about the death of one celebrity as opposed to millions and millions of people dying in the place that we’re all from?”

Almost all the stars involved have over a million followers on micro-blogging site twitter, with Gaga alone having 7.2 million.

Leigh added: “I have a feeling that Gaga is going to raise it all by herself.”

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt celebrated son Pax’s seventh birthday with a river boat cruise in Paris

The couple took the youngster and three of his siblings – Maddox, nine, Zahara, five, and four-year-old Shiloh – on the French city’s River Seine yesterday evening (28.11.10) in a chartered boat named Josephine.

Birthday boy Pax was treated to a special cake while the boat was decorated with balloons.

Despite the cold weather Pax, Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh all seemed to have a great time although there was no sign of their two-year-old twin siblings Knox and Vivienne.

As well as celebrating Pax’s birthday, earlier in the day Brad and Angelina had taken Zahara and Shiloh Christmas shopping in the French capital.

The little girls were seen trying on clothes at the Bonpoint boutique, with Shiloh picking out trousers and a pair of zebra-patterned boots while Zahara chose black suede boots and a dress.

Shiloh – who is known for her tomboy style – also picked out two sets of medieval knight’s tunics for her and Pax, and also chose a large plastic alligator for Knox.

A fellow shopper at the store told People magazine: “Angelina was great. She’s patient, and a very hands-on mother, making certain everything fits.

“Brad was very agreeable, absolutely polite and excellent with the girls.”

Leslie Nielsen has died at the age of 84

The comedy actor – best known for his role in movies ‘Airplane!’ and the ‘Naked Gun’ series – died in his sleep yesterday as a result of complications from pneumonia yesterday (28.11.10) in Ford Lauderdale, Florida.

His agent John S. Kelly confirmed the star’s passing in a statement which also paid tribute to his lengthy career.

He said: “We are saddened by the passing of beloved actor Leslie Nielson, probably best remembered as Lt. Frank Drebin in ‘The Naked Gun’ series of pictures, but who enjoyed a more than 60-year career in motion pictures and television.”

His nephew Doug told radio station CJOB the actor was a “very caring” man who he would miss “greatly”

He said: “He just fell asleep and passed away. He was a truly nice man. A very caring, naturally funny guy in day-to-day life, not just because someone wrote something on paper for me.

“He was a very tender-hearted man. He was one of my best friends and I loved him dearly. I’ll miss him greatly.”

Canadian-born Leslie appeared in a number of big movies before his break into comedy, including sci-fi epic ‘Forbidden Planet’ and ‘The Poseidon Adventure’ in 1972.

He was married four times and is survived by his last wife Barbaree Earl and two children from his second marriage to Alisande Ullman, Maura and Thea.

Natalie Portman went through “extreme pain” to understand her character in ‘Black Swan’

The US actress had to live the “monastic” life of a ballet dancer to prepare for the film, and said putting herself through the physical hardships they have to endure helped her to into their right mindset for filming.

She explained: “The physical discipline of it really helped for the emotional side of the character because you get the sense of the monastic lifestyle of only working out, that is a ballet dancer’s life.

“You don’t drink, you don’t go out with your friends, you don’t have much food and you are constantly putting your body through extreme pain, so you get that understanding of the self-flagellation of a ballet dancer.”

The aspect of training for the role which Natalie – who stars as The Swan Queen opposite Mila Kunis as The Black Swan in the film – found hardest was the strict diet she had to adhere to.

The film’s director, Darren Aronofsky said: “There was really no money for the film and we had to push it back a lot of times. I actually don’t mind that, but I only found out recently that Natalie would just be screaming at her manager that she had to live on carrots and almonds for another three weeks. She was the one who suffered the most from not eating.”

Natalie added that as soon as the film had finished shooting she ate pasta “for breakfast, lunch and dinner” to celebrate.

‘Black Swan’ is released throughout Europe in January.

Justin Bieber has a vocal coach with him constantly to help him through his voice breaking

The 16-year-old ‘Baby’ Singer is currently struggling as puberty alters his vocal chords, but has a voice expert watching over him and ensure he can still perform his hits live.

A source told the News Of The World newspaper: “Justin is physically developing at a slower rate than most guys so his voice is only breaking now.

“He’s working with the best in the business, a specialist called Jan Smith, to make sure he gets s much vocal rest as humanly possible for a working pop star.

“It’s the same people who worked with Usher when his voice broke.”

Despite his voice breaking, Justin is still appearing on stage, and will perform on British TV show ‘The X Factor’ tonight (28.11.10). He also stayed on to sign copies of his autobiography ‘First Step 2 Forever’ for an extra 1,000 fans at a New York bookstore on Friday (26.11.10).

During the marathon signing – which saw him autograph 2,000 copies of the book – Justin tweeted: “Sorry we are late. My fans are the most loyal passionate people ever. Super grateful. thank u. We got a lot more people to see. I’m not leaving until I keep my promise. Thanks for everyone being so cool about this. (sic)”

He later added: “Finished the signing in the New York. Had to show love. We let 1,000 more people in. Love y’all. wish I could let the whole world in.”

Katy Perry’s children will take priority over her music career when she becomes a mother

The pop star wants to focus on her family when she and husband Russell Brand – who she wed in India in October – decide to have a baby and she insists she will fit her career around her responsibilities as a parent

She said: “My singing is really important to me, but when children come along they’ll be my main focus. I’d never put my career in front of my babies – it’d be a case of fitting jobs around them.”

Although the 26-year-old singer has been thinking about having a baby, she insists it could be years before she and her comedic spouse start a family, though she admits she would like more than one child.

She added: “Look, any couple in a serious relationship has that talk about babies, but we haven’t decided when. Russell wants lots of children and I think there’s something amazing about tons of kids running around. We probably won’t have the talk again for a few years – it’s important to enjoy each other before having babies.”

The ‘Prince Of Persia: The Sands of Time’ actor admits he is still left surprised that he is regarded as a star as big as older actors such as Tom Cruise or Nicholas Cage as he doesn’t view himself as a leading man.

He said: “I don’t see myself like a leading man at all. That’s very result-oriented. I’ve been like that at different times in my career, but at this point I’m not. I think people look at me like that bit, but I don’t.

“I’ve been the lead in lots of different movies but it’s never been about that.

“It’s funny, I as at some event for ‘Prince Of Persia’ and Tom Cruise and Nicolas Cage were there. And there I was standing with them thinking ‘What the hell am I doing here?’ ”

Jake also admitted he likes to tackle a wide variety of characters in his movies because of advice he was given by his father many years ago.

Freida Pinto admits her relationship with Dev Patel is a “challenge”

Emma Watson cut her hair cut short to mark entering a “new phase” in her life

The ‘Harry Potter’ star – who plays Hermione Granger in the series, which completed shooting on its final film earlier this year– has recently had a drastic new short crop and admitted it was a symbolic gesture, to mark her leaving her character behind.

She told the Daily Mail newspaper: “I’m 20 now, so I’m not a child any more. I’ve been on Harry Potter for ten years now, so I felt the need to mark the end of it in some way – I needed some way to say to myself, ‘Right, you’re entering a new phase of your life now’. I needed a change, and that’s what the haircut is about.”

Emma, who played Hermione from the age of nine, added her father was initially worried about her new look, but that her pixie-like hairdo has since grown on him.

She said: “When I first told him that I was thinking about doing it, he said, ‘Don’t get carried away. You’re not Audrey Hepburn yet.’ But he loves it now, and so he’s eating his words.”

Emma, who is also the face of fashion chain Burberry and attends Brown University in the US, admitted she finds it difficult to juggle her life as an A-list actress and a hardworking student, but she puts in as much effort to both as she can.

The actress added: “I’m not going to lie. I have to just work really hard when I’m at university and earn my professor’s respect and trust that I’m hardworking, take it seriously and that I will come up with the goods somehow.

“You have to be really organised with your time. I tell professors in advance that I have to leave for this period of time, and I hope they’ll understand.”

The auction package includes two nights at the Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver and VIP limousine service to and from the ‘Breaking Dawn’ set with all proceeds going to the GO Campaign which is dedicated to helping children all over the world.

Robert is not the only celebrity currently listed on the auction site.

Fans can meet the newly-engaged Prince William – who will marry his fiancee Kate Middleton in April next year – for upwards $8,000, while an audience with ‘Baby’ hitmaker Justin Bieber currently appears less popular at $3,000.

Peter Andre has been rushed to hospital with stomach pains

The ‘Behind Closed Doors’ singer awoke in the early hours of this morning (26.11.10) in agony and was taken to see medical staff.

He has had to cancel his scheduled concert at Plymouth Pavilions tonight and is currently being monitored.

A statement posted on his official website read: “Peter Andre was rushed to hospital in the early hours of this morning in excruciating pain. At present he is being monitored closely and being kept in for extensive tests and scans.”

The pop star’s manager Claire Powell also said: “We are very worried about Peter and at present we do not know what is causing him to be in so much pain. Peter is terribly disappointed that he is unable to perform at tonight’s sold out opening night. At this time we have no more information though we are hoping Peter will be able to perform at Minehead tomorrow as planned. We will keep his fans informed via his website www.peterandre.com for further information on the situation.”

One person who is concerned for Peter’s wellbeing is his ex-wife Katie Price.

She revealed he had been hospitalised on her twitter page and sent her former spouse her best wishes.

Referring to Peter’s management agency Can Associates – which is run by Claire – she wrote: “I’m told CAN are going to release a statement saying Pete been rushed to hospital with stomach pains! Why does press need to know! Hope Pete ok. (sic)”

In July, Peter collapsed while out jogging and earlier this month he revealed he was going for an MRI scan for a mystery illness.

The star – who has two children, Junior, five, and three-year-old Princess Tiaamii, with ex-wife Katie – said: “I’m sorry to say that I haven’t been feeling too great these last couple of weeks. I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I’ve got some ongoing health problems, and I’ve been having lots of tests at the hospital. I also had an MRI scan last week, so hopefully the doctors will get to the bottom of it soon. I just don’t feel right.”

An onlooker told gossip website JustJared.com: “They asked one of the coffee shop employees for help picking out beans. They both seemed super nice and wound up ordering lattes.”

She tweeted: “Why, at my family gatherings, do we always have to end up YouTubing funny cat videos.. (sic)”

Rumours about the new couple have been circulating since they were spotted holding hands and looking loved-up while on a romantic walk around the same area of New York last month.

A source said at the time: “Taylor and Jake were walking around Park Slope holding hands. They looked like a couple!”

Along with spending Thanksgiving together, Jake is reported to have recently spent £100,000 flying Taylor to London where he was promoting a movie.

The ‘Brokeback Mountain’ actor – who was in the British capital for a press conference for ‘Love And Other Drugs’ earlier this month- flew the country music star in by private jet and the pair were said to be holed up in London’s exclusive Dorchester hotel for two days.

Prince William has reportedly asked Earl Charles Spencer to make a speech at his wedding

The 28-year-old future British king – who is due to wed Kate Middleton on April 29 at Westminster Abbey – is said to have asked the brother of his late mother Princess Diana to make the speech in a bid to repair the rift between the royals and the Spencer family.

A friend of the earl’s eldest daughter, Lady Kitty Spencer, explained: “Kitty said Charles Spencer and William have a good, solid relationship and it’s very important for William that his mother is at his wedding, so to speak. He made the point by giving his mother’s ring to his future bride.”

While it is believed royal aides will be meeting with the Spencer family in London before Christmas to discuss their involvement in the impending nuptials, a palace insider said William and Kate are yet to make a decision on the details of the wedding.

A St. James’s Palace aide added to the Daily Mail newspaper: “The Spencers will inevitably have a prominent role at the wedding as guests – they are blood family after all. At the moment anything else is speculation, as Prince William and Miss Middleton have yet to make these sorts of decisions.”

Among the details to be decided are whether the speech will come during the wedding ceremony or at one of the two receptions.

This comes after Earl Spencer launched a thinly-veiled attack on the royal family during his eulogy at Diana’s funeral in 1997.

He said: “A very British girl … who proved in the last year that she needed no royal title to continue to generate her particular brand of magic.”

Freida Pinto used to think she was a “great” Michael Jackson

The ‘Miral’ actress had dreamed of growing up to be a performer for a young age and used to practise routines – including those of the late King of Pop – in front of her mirror.

She admitted: “I have dreamt since I was the age of five that I wanted to become an actress. I didn’t know that I would do it professionally. But I knew that this was my area of interest.

“I would stand in front of the mirror and for the longest time I really thought that I was a great Michael Jackson impersonator.”

As well as dreaming of a career in the spotlight, Freida spent much of her childhood travelling the world and was grateful for the opportunities she had.

She told Total Film magazine: “Both my grandfather and my uncle were in the army – which meant we travelled a lot.

Paris Hilton is countersuing the hair extension company which filed a lawsuit against her in August

The hotel heiress was reportedly paid $3.5 million by Hairtech International in 2007 to be the face of their Dream Catchers range of clip-in locks but is being sued for $35 million after allegedly failing to promote the product and wearing extensions made by a competitor.

Now Paris has filed her own suit and is asking for is asking for $2.1 million in damages, at least $400,000 in punitive damages and attorney fees, and $500,000 in declaratory relief.

In documents filed at Los Angeles Superior Court the socialite’s lawyer alleges Hairtech International “sought to capitalise on Ms. Hilton’s brand and fame by offering to pay substantial ‘guaranteed’ royalties in exchange for the right to associate Ms. Hilton’s brand with their line of hair products”.

Paris is also accusing the company of fraud claiming they failed to pay her “in excess of $1.7 million,” and accusing them of “secretly altering documents presented to Ms. Hilton’s company for signature”.

Along with countersuing the hair extension company, Paris denies she was unprofessional and claims the company’s CEO Chris Volek wrote her an email praising her performance after she filmed a commercial for the company.

According to gossip website TMZ, the email said “Hey Paris. I know it was a long day, but baby you ‘Rocked.’ Just from the takes I saw this is going to be one hellava commercial, you were genuinely amazing.”

Taylor Swift likes to have conversations with herself

The 20-year-old singer is enjoying living alone for the first time in her life because she can chat to herself whenever she likes.

The musician – who is rumoured to be dating actor Jake Gyllenhaal – confessed: “Living alone you can do so many fantastic things.

“You can walk around and have conversations with yourself and, like, sing your thoughts … I think I’m the only one who does that.”

But the country star, who has a fish pond in her sitting room and a conservatory in the shape of a birdcage at her apartment in Nashville, Tennessee, claims she doesn’t expect to have any wild parties at her swanky pad.

She said: “I have the deeply engrained fear of getting into trouble and being sent to the principal’s office of life.”

And the clean-living beauty says the best thing about turning 21 next month isn’t that she can legally drink alcohol – but that she will be allowed to go to more concerts.

She added to US talk show host Chelsea Handler: “I get to go to the concerts now that my friends used to leave me at home for.”

Simon Cowell revealed his life was “boring” before he appeared on television, during his acceptance speech at the 38th International Emmy Awards.

The music mogul – who first achieved TV stardom as a judge on 2001 UK TV talent show ‘Pop Idol’ – was handed the International Emmy Founders Award at the ceremony at The Hilton hotel in New York City last night (22.11.10) for his contributions to TV and entertainment, and he admitted he was delighted to receive the accolade.

Simon – who was handed his prize by News Corporation CEO Rupert Murdoch - joked: “Whoever said fame, money, success will destroy you, was completely wrong. Bring it on! My life was boring before I went on TV.”

Paying tribute to “amazingly talented and charismatic” Simon, Rupert praised him for his work on ‘The X Factor’, ‘American Idol’ and the ‘Got Talent’ franchise, which he said made the British star a “phenomenal media impresario” for his “enormous cultural contributions”.

He added: “Simon has helped make Fox Broadcasting number one season after season over the past decade.

“I’m confident his launch of ‘X Factor’ in the US next year will build on that success for years to come.

“No one has done more in the past decade to build the fortunes of Fox Broadcasting.”

Other winners at the ceremony – which was hosted by actor Jason Priestly – included actor Bob Hoskins for his role on ‘The Street’ and ‘Enid’ actress Helena Bonham Carter.

Prince William and Kate Middleton will invite 100 members of the public to their wedding via a random draw

The couple – who will tie the knot in a lavish ceremony at London’s Westminster Abbey on April 29 next year – want the British people to be deeply involved in the celebrations and are delighted their plan of inviting a selection of ordinary citizens has been approved.

A source involved with the St James’s Palace planning committee revealed: “William and Kate wanted the British people involved at a deeper level than simply holding street parties.

“They were crystal clear on this from the outset and were delighted when the idea of a random selection was mooted.

“Those lucky enough to land an invitation will only find out when it drops on their door mat. Can you imagine? It’s like winning a Willy Wonka Golden Ticket for your front-row seat in history.”

Along with receiving an invitation to the royal ceremony, the lucky 100 guests – who will mix with a host of international royals and heads of state expected to include US President Barack Obama – will also attend the reception which will reportedly be held at Buckingham Palace.

The source added to The Sun newspaper: “The fortunate few will become the envy of their neighbourhood.

“They will rub shoulders with royalty and world leaders – what a thing to tell your grandchildren.”

It has not yet been decided how the invited members of the public will be chosen.

Meanwhile William’s younger brother, Prince Harry will take on the role of Supporter for his brother.

A royal source said: “It will be an incredibly emotional day for Harry as well as William.

“They will both be thinking about how proud their mother Princess Diana would be if she had lived to see this wedding. People sometimes forget what those boys have been through. William couldn’t have chosen anyone else.”

Royals usually choose two Supporters or Best Men but it is unclear if William will follow this tradition.

The source explained: “William is very much his own man. He is undecided if he will go for another Supporter or who that will be.”

If William does choose it is likely his best friend Thomas van Straubenzee will share the duties with Harry, 26.

Gwyneth Paltrow found gaining weight for a recent movie role “a nightmare”

The Oscar-winning actress – who had to gain 20 pounds for new film ‘Country Strong’ – admitted she “panicked” when she became aware that she wouldn’t be able to stick to her strict diet and exercise regime.

She explained: “The nightmare thing about it is I had to stop working out. At first I panicked so I would work out a little bit and then I had to lie and be like, ‘No I didn’t work out’. I’d be on the treadmill and be like, ‘I really have to stop this’.

“My body didn’t really fall apart until right after we finished the movie and now I’m having problems.”

However, the 38-year-old star – who is married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin – confessed she enjoyed being able to drink more for the role, as she is “a lush”.

She told talk show host Chelsea Handler on ‘Chelsea’s Big Interview Special’: “I drink a lot. I like red wine, but I’ll drink white, rose. Guinness is my favourite beer, I like a dirty vodka martini. I’m just a lush, basically.”

The eccentric singer has reportedly instructed her assistants to throw away all of her old bras and pants as she believes the feel of the more expensive fabric on her skin helps boost her creativity.

A source said: “She’s so in love with the way it feels on her body, she’s demanded every piece of lingerie be made from 100 per cent pure silk.

“Polyester, cotton and Lycra are all banned. The finest silk, made to order, is all she’ll wear now.

“She really believes this will help her creativity because if she feels comfortable and her skin is able to breathe properly, she’ll be able to concentrate on her music.”

The ‘Paparazzi’ hitmaker has spent an estimated £7,000 in replacing all her old underwear with silk garments but doesn’t mind about the cost.

The source added to Now magazine: “She’s taking this latest fetish seriously and driving her assistant crazy.

“Some garments go for £70 a pair and because she’s kitted out the entire underwear section of her wardrobe, it’s cost her close to £7,000.

“She’s successful enough to demand anything she wants, even if it’s silky pants.”
