Laurence Fishburne is secretly funding his daughter Montana’s legal defense … sources tell TMZ.

TMZ broke the story … Montana Fishburne claimed daddy Laurence wanted nothing to do with her after she decided to enter the world of porn.

But now we’re told … It was Laurence who hired Montana’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, to represent her in an ongoing assault with a deadly weapon case … in an attempt to help her out and get her life back on track. We contacted Holley — she refused to comment.

Our sources say Laurence continues to foot the bill for Montana’s defense.

So, Montana, who loves ya?

L.A. Dodgers Owner: Jamie Never Wanted the Team

Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt claims his wife, Jamie McCourt, diabolically tried to strong-arm him into showing his love by giving her a piece of the team — at the same time she was secretly consulting divorce lawyers.

In Frank’s legal brief, obtained by TMZ, the Dodgers owner maintains his wife signed over her interest in the team, in return for getting sole ownership of more than $100 million in homes.

Frank claims in legal papers Jamie never wanted to buy the Dodgers in the first place.  According to Frank, Jamie felt buying the team in 2004 was a “risky business venture,” because the Dodgers had been losing millions and the deal was insanely leveraged.

Frank says Jamie — a lawyer who has drafted marital agreements herself — was more than happy to sign the marital property agreement that gave Frank the team and gave her all the homes.

But fast forward to 2008 … the Dodgers became profitable while the value of real estate began plummeting.  According to the docs, Jamie came to Frank with a proposal:  “If we’re going to be life partners, we’re going to be business partners.”  Frank says Jamie wanted him to give her half interest in the Dodgers but she would keep most of the homes herself.  Frank smelled a rat and said no.

Frank claims Jamie was stricken with celebrity-itus and wanted a piece of the team, calling it “her ticket to become the mayor of Los Angeles, the Governor of California, and maybe even the President of the United States.  To create the fairytale of ‘Brand Jamie,’ she recognized she had to rewrite history.”

Lindsay Lohan — One Day to Freedom

Lindsay Lohan may be a free woman in 24 hours … based on new developments in the case.

As TMZ first reported, all signs are pointing to Lindsay Lohan being released from UCLA this week — and we’re hearing it will happen tomorrow.  Judge Elden Fox has decided not to issue an order today, but rather he will make a decision tomorrow at 8:30 AM PT.

As we’ve told you, the doctors at UCLA think Judge Marsha Revel’s mandate that Lindsay spend 90 days in rehab is excessive, and they are recommending an early release.

Sources tell us going into last weekend, the plan was for a Wednesday release, and all signs now point to Judge Fox releasing Lindsay tomorrow morning and ordering outpatient care.

Drew Barrymore is glad she isn’t perfect

The ‘Going the Distance’ actress – who has been in rehab three times and has had two short-lived marriages – doesn’t worry about the “low points” in her life because they have made her the person she is today.

She said: “The low points I had all helped make up my character, so I probably wouldn’t want to do away with them because I like being flawed and I like having them help me grow and change and become better and stronger.”

Drew, 35, also refuses to blame her troubled parents, John and Jaid Barrymore – who both died as a result of their addiction problems and divorced when the actress was young – for anything that went wrong in her life, including her first stint in rehab when she was just 15.

The former child star added: “You can’t live your life blaming your failures on your parents and what they did or didn’t do for you.

“You’re dealt the cards that you’re dealt. I realised it was a waste of time to be angry at my parents and feel sorry for myself.”

Nowadays, Drew – who refuses to confirm she has reconciled with on/off boyfriend Justin Long – is happier than ever and feels proud of her accomplishments.

She added in an interview with the Daily Telegraph website: “I feel really excited about the last few years of my life.

“I pride myself on them and I didn’t know I had that much discipline. I’ve worked really hard and got to do things I’ve always wanted to do and now I feel things are going really well. I just want to make sure I have a sense of balance between work and life, because work is my life and the lines can get really blurry.”

Paris: Knife-Wielding Man Tried to Enter My Home

Cops arrived at Paris Hilton’s L.A. area home this morning after she claims a man packing “2 big knifes” tried to break into her house … this according to Paris’ Twitter page.

Moments ago, Hilton posted this photo of cops at her home — and included the following message: “So Scary, just got woken up to a guy trying to break into my house holding 2 big knifes. Cops are here arresting him.”

Dr. Conrad Murray — No Hard Feelings

Dr. Conrad Murray must have some pretty thick skin — because sources close to the doc tell TMZ he’s “not at all upset” with the people who were calling him a “murderer” on the way out of court yesterday.

We’re told Doc Murray believes that everyone has a right to express their feelings … even if he doesn’t agree.

As we previously reported, several Michael Jackson supporters hurled insults at the doc as he left an L.A. courtroom yesterday … right after Murray’s legal team was granted access to MJ’s fluid samples to aid in his defense in the involuntary manslaughter trial.

A rep for Murray’s defense team tells us, “We’re just happy there wasn’t a blimp this time.”

Sofia Vergara’s boyfriend is in intensive care at an L.A. area hospital this morning after a terrifying car crash in Bel Air yesterday … TMZ has learned.

Paramedics rushed to a street near Beverly Glen around 4:30 PM yesterday –and found 35-year-old Nick Loeb with a severely broken leg and a deep gash across his chest.

We’re told Loeb was rushed to a nearby hospital — and is currently being treated in the ICU.

Robert Pattinson has agreed to move to Los Angeles with Kristen Stewart

The secretive couple – who are believed to have been dating since meeting on the set of ‘Twilight’ in 2008 – are believed to be renting a $14,000-a-month five-bedroom house in the suburb of Bel Air in a bid to strengthen their relationship, despite the 24-year-old British actor’s original wish to move to New York.

A friend said: “I think when Robert really thought about it, he realised that as much as he’d like to live in New York, he doesn’t want to be anywhere without Kristen.”

The pair are hoping the move can cement their love for one another after their relationship became strained due to working commitments keeping them apart, with cracks showing when Kristen, 20, allegedly refused to attend the recent Teen Choice Awards in California with Robert.

A source told Look magazine: “Kristen is filming ‘On The Road’ in Montreal and could have gone to the awards, but didn’t want to have to face the media spotlight yet again, with questions about her relationship with Robert.

“As a couple in a long-distance relationship any moment they can spend together they should. Her refusal to go came as quite a shock to Robert, who feels they need to work on spending time together, regardless of the press spotlight.”

However, friends confirm they are getting stronger as a result of the ‘Remember Me’ star’s recent trip to the set of ‘On The Road’ in Canada.

A friend told more! magazine: “They know how much they love each other, it’s just that when they spend any time apart things can blur that. They’re happy again and so glad to be back together again.”

Heidi Montag is privately acknowledging the existence of her sex tape … TMZ has learned — and sources close to the former “Hills” star tell us she’s finally willing to talk business.

We’re told Heidi has agreed to listen to Vivid Entertainment honcho Steve Hirsch when he arrives in Costa Rica to make an offer on the footage … some of which is said to contain girl-on-girl action with Playboy Playmate Karissa Shannon.

We’re told Heidi wants Hirsch to provide her with the sales numbers on Kim Kardashian’s sex tape — which was also released through Vivid — because Heidi may be interested in working out a “back-end deal” if Steve can’t offer enough cash up front to satisfy Montag.

Hirsch told us he’s leaving for Costa Rica sometime next week.

Taylor Lautner is suing a trailer company for “emotional distress”

The ‘Twilight’ star planned to buy a customised 2006 Country Coach Recreational Vehicle (RV) for $300,000 to use while filming new movie ‘Abduction’ but has launched legal action over his “annoyance” that the vehicle wasn’t delivered on time.

The actor filed a lawsuit at Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday (23.08.10) against McMahon’s RV after the dealership failed to have the vehicle delivered by the agreed date of June 21.

Taylor, 18, has claimed breach of contract and fraud and is demanding unspecified damages from the company.

The hunky star recently admitted despite his role as werewolf Jacob Black in the ‘Twilight Saga’ propelling him to stardom, he is still down-to-earth enough to help out with domestic chores around the home.

He said: “I help out with the lawn, garbage, dishes. When I come back, I have extra mowing to do. It’s very important to me. I describe it as I live two different lives. I have this life and do what I love to do, but I also have the same exact life as before and nothing has changed.”

Randy Quaid — My Bank Stole My Fortune

Randy Quaid claims his most trusted financial advisors — along with his bank — conspired in a diabolical plot to steal his multi-million dollar fortune … this according to a new lawsuit.

Acting as his own attorney, Quaid filed a lawsuit in L.A. County Superior Court today, claiming he’s lost more than $10 million in “loans I did not need or want” after his advisors forged his signature on key financial documents.

Long story short — Quaid claims the advisors made fraudulent real estate loans with the help of City National Bank … which has led to huge financial losses and big trouble with the I.R.S.

Quaid also claims his financial people stole several paychecks from his work on high profile Hollywood projects — specifically an estimated $600,000 in royalty checks for his role in “Brokeback Mountain.”

In the suit, Quaid does not specify how much he wants from the advisors and the bank — but he implies that the number is astronomical.

Lindsay Lohan — Freedom May Be a Day Away

The judge in the Lindsay Lohan case will issue an order tomorrow, and it could be Lindsay’s ticket to freedom … TMZ has learned.

Judge Elden Fox will issue an order tomorrow in Lindsay’s case … somewhere between 1:30 and 3:30 PM PT.  This follows a surprise appearance today in court by Lindsay’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley … but no one is talking about specifically what went down in the judge’s chambers.

As TMZ first reported, the doctors at UCLA have recommended that Lindsay get out long before the 90 days imposed by the prior judge — Marsha Revel.

Sources have told us they expect Lindsay’s release will probably come this week, to be followed by outpatient care.

All signs point to Judge Fox executing this plan.

Taylor Lautner’s Emotional Distress Over Trailer

Taylor Lautner claims he’s suffering from “emotional distress” and “annoyance” … because his RV trailer wasn’t delivered on time.

In a new lawsuit obtained by TMZ, Lautner claims he made a deal with McMahon’s RV to purchase a personal trailer for around $300,000 … a trailer he could use while shooting his new movie, “Abduction.”

According to the suit, the deal was that the trailer would be tricked out and delivered by no later than June 21 … but it wasn’t.

Lautner claims breach of contract and fraud and wants unspecified damages.

Jennifer Aniston is to appear in ‘Cougar Town’

The ‘Switch’ actress will reunite with her former ‘Friends’ co-star Courteney Cox Arquette when she makes a guest appearance in the first episode of the second series of the hit drama, which is scheduled to air in the US next month.

Jennifer will portray a therapist named Bonnie who Courteney’s character Jules visits for treatment.

Explaining the character, ‘Cougar Town’ executive producer Bill Lawrence said: “She’s kind of a get-too-involved-in-her-life-type of therapist.

“Those guys are so close in real life they kind of do that for each other anyway. Bonnie has the life Jules wishes she has.”

According to the producer, a cameo for Jennifer had long been in the pipeline, but show bosses wanted to wait until the programme had established itself before approaching the star.

Bill explained: “It took us a while to find the show. And once we did and once it was clicking, I think that not only did Courteney feel comfortable talking to Jennifer about doing it, but comfortable in how funny she thinks the show is and that Jennifer would like it and fit into this world really well.”

Although Jennifer is slated to appear for just one episode, Bill admitted the ‘Bounty Hunter’ star may return in the future.

He added to Entertainment Weekly: “We’re very intentionally implying that it’s a therapist Courteney’s character has been using for a while, and we’re certainly not going to make it like they’ll never see each other again.

“So I’m crossing my fingers that if she has a good time it’ll happen again.”

This is not the first time the two actresses have appeared together since ‘Friends’ ended in 2004.

In 2007, Jennifer made a cameo appearance in Courteney’s short-lived drama ‘Dirt’, when their two characters famously shared a kiss.

Tiger and Elin — The Silent Treatment

TMZ has learned that although Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren came together to finalize their divorce this morning there wasn’t so much as a “hello” uttered between them.

Sources at the courthouse in Panama City, FL tell us Tiger and Elin were definitely in the same room at the same time, but they did not speak to each other at all.

We’re told they kept their distance, choosing instead to stand with their lawyers — meaning Elin was not lonely … she had 8 attorneys present.

Defendant in DiCaprio Case Claims Cover-Up

The woman accused of slashing Leo DiCaprio’s face with a drinking glass was in court this morning lashing out at the actor, claiming he started the physical altercation and the whole thing is a cover-up.

Aretha Wilson’s lawyer asked the judge for a toxicology report on the actor the night of the incident, as well as his medical records.

The lawyer claims the case is a cover-up — that Leo didn’t even report the incident for 3 days, and the 5 witnesses are telling inconsistent stories.

In addition to the toxicology report (Leo went to the hospital that night for stitches and doctors may have done a toxicology), the lawyer wants Leo’s rap sheet.

As for what started the fight at the home of Rick Salomon, Paris Hilton’s sex tape partner, Wilson’s lawyer says his client said to Leo, “You guys are a bunch of f*gs.  Why don’t you go butt f**k each other.”  The lawyer says that set Leo off and he approached Wilson in a threatening way.

Leo’s lawyer, Blair Berk, says, “These are outrageous lies and a classic case of trying to re-victimize a victim in a violent assault.”

Berk adds, “That this woman became a fugitive from justice for 5 years to avoid responsibility and that Mr. DiCaprio has fully cooperated with the prosecution from day 1 should say everything.  This woman has a long criminal history of violent criminal attacks on others and should be given no attention whatsoever.”

Berk’s bottom line — “Mr. DiCaprio simply wants justice.”

Levi Johnston — Now Accepting Donations

Levi Johnston has been granted the right to beg you for a campaign donation … because he’s filed his official “letter of intent” to run for “state or municipal office” in Alaska in the 2011 elections.

In the documents, filed on Friday with the Alaska Public Offices Commission, Johnston states that he intends to run for a position in the City of Wasilla.

Levi doesn’t specify which position he’s running for … but he’s previously stated that he wants to become the next mayor …a position once held by his baby mama’s mama Sarah Palin.

By filing the document — Levi is permitted to officially begin his campaign … which means dude can legally accept campaign contributions.

Dr. Murray Wants Michael Jackson Fluid Samples

Sources tell TMZ … Dr. Conrad Murray’s lawyers will ask the trial judge today for an order allowing them to get fluid samples from Michael Jackson – to help with their defense in the involuntary manslaughter case.

We’re told Dr. Murray’s lawyers want to re-test some of the fluids to determine the accuracy level of the Propofol found in Michael Jackson’s body.

According to the L.A. County Coroner’s report Jackson died of acute Propofol intoxication.

We’ve learned the Coroner has fluid samples and we’re told they’ve been preserved.

Also today in court … Judge Michael Pastor is expected to set a preliminary hearing date.  The spokesperson for Dr. Murray’s lawyer, Ed Chernoff, has said whatever date the judge wants is fine with them … “If he wants it next week, we’ll be there next week.”

Charlie Sheen Will Not Check In For Sentence

TMZ has learned … Charlie Sheen is not formally checking into his rehab facility today to fulfill his 30-day jail sentence … because, in effect, he’s been completing the terms of that sentence for weeks.

TMZ broke the story … Charlie plea bargained his domestic violence case in Aspen in August … and agreed to a 30-day jail sentence.  But under the terms, engineered by attorney Yale Galanter, Promises rehab facility in Malibu is responsible for administering the sentence — in other words, the time served is at Promises and not in jail.

We’ve learned … although the plan was for Charlie to formally check into Promises today for his sentence, that’s not going to happen.  We’re told the way Promises sees it … Charlie has been getting aftercare for months, sometimes even sleeping at the facility.

There will be no formal check-in.  As one source says, “It’s an ongoing process for Charlie.”  We’re told when the case is back in court in November, Charlie will be able to show he’s completed the 30-day sentence many times over.

Stephen Moyer celebrated his wedding to Anna Paquin by jumping into the sea.

The ‘True Blood’ co-stars tied the knot at sunset on Saturday (21.08.10) in Malibu, California, and Stephen was so excited he swapped his suit for shorts and dived into the Pacific Ocean with pals as his new bride cheered him on.

Speaking after the ceremony, a source told People: “It was a beautiful evening to get married and the sunset was gorgeous. Anna and Stephen seemed very excited to celebrate their wedding day.”

On her big day, bride Anna wore a Marilyn Monroe-esque white halter neck gown and Neil Lane jewellery with her hair in a simple bun, while groom Stephen wore a dark suit and tie as they exchanged vows beneath a tent at a private residence across the street from the beach in Malibu.

The bridal party then crossed the road to a beach house for the reception.

The couple – who have been dating since filming the pilot episode of the vampire drama in 2007 – were surrounded by family and friends, including actor Elijah Wood and ‘True Blood’ co-stars Ryan Kwanten and Carrie Preston, as they said their vows.

Anna’s brother-in-law Russel Norman – who is married to the actress’ sister Katya – revealed “there were constant helicopters” during the service, adding to the New Zealand Herald: “It was really, really beautiful, actually. It was great. Somehow they’ve managed to stay real in the middle of this unreal world. It was quite sweet.”

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are getting divorced and Spencer is threatening to release a flurry of sex tapes that feature his handiwork with Heidi, along with some girl-on-girl … so it’s more than telling that a paparazzi agency shot video of the two of them together Sunday at a resort in Costa Rica, frantically separating so they would not seem in cahoots.

Spencer told TMZ over the weekend he was in Costa Rica to turn over two dogs to Heidi but she wanted nothing to do with him. The video suggests otherwise.

Spencer says he’s given Heidi an ultimatum — either tear up the divorce papers and do a reality show with him, or he’ll release the sex tapes.

Lady Gaga has become the “queen of twitter” – with more followers than anyone else

The ‘Alejandro’ singer has overtaken Britney Spears by 34,000 followers after attracting a staggering 5,735,554 people to her page compared to 5,701,236.

Gaga has now posted a video link on her twitter account thanking fans for making her the most popular person on the micro-blogging site.

Addressing her fans as her “little monsters”, the pop star – who appears in a makeshift crown with a twitter logo on it and waves a magic wand in the video – says: “Hello world, this is Lady Gaga, queen of twitter. I wanted to thank all my beautiful little monsters for following me. Thank you for beginning my reign as twitter queen. I vow to always tweet and tweet again.”

The piece was shot backstage at a concert in Tacoma, Washington. The 24-year-old singer is currently on the North American leg of her ‘Monster Ball Tour’

Gaga currently picks up new followers on twitter at an average of around 171,000 a week, according to website famecount.com which analysed the data.

Although she is the most followed star on twitter, she is not the fastest growing; that title goes to teen pop sensation Justin Bieber, who is amassing an average 800,000 new followers each month.

Other popular tweeters include actor Ashton Kutcher and musician Taylor Swift, who both have over 3 million followers each.
