Plaxico Burress — Denied Temporary Release from Jail

Former NFL star Plaxico Burress won’t be returning to the football field any time soon — TMZ has learned the famous wide receiver’s latest attempt to participate in a work release program was just shot down by authorities in Albany.

Burress — who was locked up for illegal gun possession after accidentally shooting himself at a NY nightclub — had requested a  “temporary release” so he could play football again.

But officials denied his request stating, “The serious and negative impact illegal guns have on the community coupled with dangerous nature of the weapon discharging in a public place renders him unsuitable for work release participation.”

Plaxico is scheduled to be released in 2011.

Zsa Zsa Goes to Hospital — Not Life Threatening

Zsa Zsa Gabor has been taken to a hospital, but sources tell TMZ her condition is not life threatening.

We’ve learned the person who called 911 from Gabor’s house mentioned flu-like symptoms and body pain.

We’re told a private ambulance has taken Gabor to the hospital, without emergency lights flashing … an indication her life is not in immediate danger.

‘Iron Chef’ Star Sued by Wannabe Bartender

“Iron Chef” star Masaharu Morimoto is being sued by a barback who claims the chef stiffed him on wages and tips.

Jose Bueno says there’s nothing bueno about the money he brings home from Morimoto restaurant in New York City.

Bueno claims he earned less than the minimum wage and Morimoto retained portions of his tips and gave them to non-service employees, such as silver polishers.

Bueno also claims some of the tips were pocketed.

You’ll recall … TMZ broke the story “Iron Chef” Mario Batali was also sued recently by employees for allegedly pocketing tips.

Zsa Zsa Rushed Back to Hospital

TMZ has learned … Zsa Zsa Gabor has been rushed back to UCLA Medical Center.

Zsa Zsa’s husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, tells TMZ, “I just called an ambulance.  She has to go back to UCLA.”

The Prince says Zsa Zsa was unresponsive and clearly in distress.

An ambulance is on the scene after 911 was called.

No word yet on the nature of the emergency.

LeBron James Scoffs at Paternity Lawsuit

LeBron James wants a court to be as dismissive as he is over a lawsuit filed by a man who claims to be his father.

TMZ broke the story … Leicester Bryce Stovell filed a $4 million lawsuit against LeBron and Gloria James, the NBA star’s mom, claiming fraud and defamation.

Now attorneys for LeBron and Gloria have asked a judge to dismiss the suit, labeling it “rank speculation.”  According to the new legal docs obtained by TMZ, LeBron’s lawyers scoffed at “… a man who claims that as a twenty-nine year old lawyer he got a 15-year old girl pregnant during a one-night stand and who never contributed a penny in child support would earn millions in commercial endorsements by crawling out of the wood-work after the child he never gave a thought to became an NBA star.”

The new docs also note the results of a DNA test which show “0% probability of paternity.”

Maurice Clarett — Running Back in Action

Clutching the football like his life depended on it, former NFL prodigy Maurice Clarett smashed his way back to the gridiron yesterday for a workout with his new UFL squad … and TMZ obtained the pics!

Sporting his old lucky number 13, Clarett — now 26-years-old — looked pretty good during his first full practice with the Omaha Nighthawks.

As you may remember, Clarett was arguably the best player in college football back in 2002 … when he led Ohio State to an undefeated season and a BCS National Championship.

Soon after that season, things went south for Clarett … starting with some drama involving the NFL Draft … a few arrests … and a subsequent prison stint.

But now, Clarett is back and ready to make his comeback … and it looks like he’s taking his second chance pretty seriously.

Drew Barrymore thinks mystery is “sexy”

The actress – who has refused to confirm reports she has rekindled her romance with Justin Long – thinks the natural chemistry between the pair on new movie ‘Going The Distance’ has made the film even better.

She said: “We never talk about when we’re together and when we’re not. It never, ever will be addressed. Mystery is sexy. But I definitely think it was a real benefit that we knew each other so well so the laughter was genuine and the struggles, we understand.

“It’s very rare for me to walk into a movie and have such an honest amazing chemistry with someone; that was such a blessing and a gift and I really felt lucky.”

The ‘Wedding Singer’ star also admitted she has experienced the pain of long-distance love – as depicted in the new film – but believes it is possible to make a romance work even when spending so much time apart.

She added in an interview with Australian newspaper Nine to Five: “I’ve been in long-distance relationships my whole life so I totally related to this as a woman. I know what I would want to make a long-distance relationship work, such as letters, surprising each other or making plans to do things that make you feel great and alive, and feel really special and think that you’re a part of this unit and it’s not a phantom thing.

“I think probably one of the real pitfalls of long-distance relationships, is the not knowing all the time and the inconsistency.”

Kate Winslet’s new boyfriend says he is very “happy” with her

Model Louis Dowler – who began dating the Oscar-winning actress in June following her split from estranged husband Sam Mendes earlier this year – has spoken for the first time about their romance and couldn’t contain his excitement.

Speaking at the Virgin Media V Festival, in Chelmsford, Essex, earlier this month, Louis told Grazia magazine: “I feel really happy at the moment, although Kate’s not coming today, unfortunately. So I’m here with friends having a relaxing day out. Kate’s in Reading visiting family this weekend but I’m going to meet up with her on Sunday or Monday, which will be great.”

The ‘Reader’ star is thought to have invited Louis to meet her parents in her hometown but the hunk had already made plans with friends to go to the festival.

Sources close to Kate – who has nine-year-old daughter Mia with first husband Jim Threapleton and seven-year-old Joe with Sam -– say the pair are smitten with each other.

A friend said: “We all thought it was just going to be a fling, but it’s been going on a couple of months now and they seem to be getting closer and closer. Taylor Lautner has been challenged to a push-up contest to resolve to a lawsuit he has filed

The 18-year-old actor – who is suing McMahon’s RV, claiming “emotional distress”, breach of contract and fraud after his $300,000 Recreational Vehicle (RV) was not delivered on time – has been urged to show off his physical prowess by the company’s owner Brent McMahon, who denies any wrongdoing.

Brent says that he will pay the actor the $40,000 he is seeking in damages if he can beat him at push ups, and further said he will donate the money to the Children’s Hospital of Orange County, California if he triumphs in the test of strength.

The owner also said he will strongly defend his case in court if the actor doesn’t accept the challenge. Lawyers for Taylor declined to comment on the legal action, in which the ‘Twilight Saga’ star has claimed his customised vehicle did not arrive on the set of his new movie ‘Abduction’ by the specified date of June 21, and required further work after it was finally delivered..

Taylor, who plays werewolf Jacob Black in the ‘Twilight’ franchise, has previously told how he is happy living at home with his parents, and wants to retain a normal lifestyle for “as long as possible”.

He said: “I help out with the lawn, garbage, dishes. When I come back, I have extra mowing to do. It’s very important to me. I describe it as I live two different lives. I have this life and do what I love to do, but I also have the same exact life as before and nothing has changed.”

Sam Ronson’s Cadillac Hits the Road

Samantha Ronson’s bulldog Cadillac has beat a hasty retreat from L.A. after a fatal run-in with a neighbor dog … sources tell TMZ — and we found out Cadillac has a biting record.

We’ve learned Sam sent her beloved bulldog packing for the East Coast to live with family  … after the dog killed a 3-pound Maltese that was roaming the hallway without a leash Monday in Samantha’s West Hollywood apartment building.

Sam — who had worked the night before — was at home sleeping when the attack occurred.  Some of her friends were in her unit.  We’ve learned the friends told Animal Control they heard a human scream and then opened the door and found Cadillac in the hallway alone — there was no blood on the floor or on the bulldog.  None of Sam’s friends are copping to allowing Cadillac to get out of the unit.

We’ve learned Cadillac previously bit another dog in the building and Sam agreed to send the pooch to a 3-week doggie boot camp for socialization.  Cadillac returned home just 5 days ago.

Neighbors tell TMZ Cadillac had also bitten a person in the building but we could not confirm it.

Stallone Allegedly Crabby After California Roll

Sylvester Stallone allegedly ran a stop sign in L.A. yesterday — and according to law enforcement sources, the actor was “less than cordial” during the traffic stop … and ended up with a big, fat ticket.

We’re told a police officer watched as Sly failed to come to a complete standstill at a stop sign near the Bev Hills border … then pulled the actor over — and we’re told that’s when things got rocky.

According to sources, Sly vehemently “disagreed” with the officer’s version of the events — and was “less than cordial.”

We’re guessing all the talk didn’t serve Stallone well — according to our sources, the “Expendables” star got slapped with a citation.

Calls to Sly’s camp weren’t returned.

Alex Reid has broken his sex ban with Katie Price

The cage-fighter – who has a bout with Tom Kong Watson coming up next month – admits he had to break the rules after he and his wife were reunited following some time apart.

He said: “I said last week that I like to give up sex for four weeks before a fight but that would be since the weekend gone, and – as we were both away last week – we had to break the rules when we got back!

“I’m not that strict about it, to be honest. I just think it makes me more determined.”

Alex – who married Katie in a quickie ceremony in Las Vegas earlier this year – also rubbished reports the couple were having difficulties in their relationship.

Writing in his column for Star magazine, he said: “We know how tight we are. We want a baby and we wouldn’t do that if our relationship wasn’t really secure. Just think about it.”

Dita Von Teese — Alleged Victim of Anti-Semitism

Funny … she doesn’t look Jewish … but Dita Von Teese claims she was on the receiving end of a Mel Gibson-like anti-Semitic rant … courtesy of her former landlord.

In a lawsuit filed today in L.A. County Superior Court and obtained by TMZ … Von Teese claims she told her landlord she would be moving out and request the return of her $5,000 security deposit.

Von Teese says she wants getting any action in the security deposit department, so she had her managers contact the landlord.  According to the suit, that’s when the landlord “went on Mel Gibson-like Anti-Semitic tangents, personally attacking Plaintiff’s Jewish managers and business managers … and writing to Plaintiff (Von Teese) that she should ‘beware of Jews.  In your business no one can do anything without them.’”

In the lawsuit, Von Teese’s lawyer, Keith Fink, mentions other alleged correspondence: “Jews they have shucks (sic) the whole world dry and still more to come.”

The landlord could not be reached for comment.

Sam Ronson Dog Attack — The Alleged ‘Victim’

TMZ has obtained this photo of little Tiger — the two-year-old Maltese pooch that was allegedly mauled by Sam Ronson’s bulldog, Cadillac, earlier today.

As we first reported, authorities received a 911 call from a person who claims Tiger and Tiger’s owner were attacked by another dog near Sam’s L.A. apartment.

Tiger later died as a result of his injuries.

Edyta — ‘Dancing’ Stomped on My Career Plans

Hot-bodied professional dancer Edyta Sliwinska claims she’s officially done with “Dancing with the Stars” — telling TMZ she quit over a major disagreement with the show’s producers.

Edyta — who danced with the show since its first season in 2005 — tells TMZ, “The producers’ vision of what they wanted my career to be did not meet my expectations. They wanted my career to be the show. I can’t be a dancer my whole life.”

Edyta also claims she was bummed over the way producers dealt with her husband — Season 1 champ Alec Mazo — telling us, “I want to work more with my husband and [the producers] didn’t make him a big part of the show or very involved.”

As for Edyta’s post-DWTS plans — she tells us, “I am also going back to school to get my degree in Communications and Dance. I also have more projects that I want to work on.”

However, a source close to the show tells TMZ Edyta is still under contract … which means she just can’t waltz away.

A rep for the show had no comment.

Richie’s Line Files $230,000 Lawsuit

Too Fab has learned the company behind Nicole Richie’s designer line Winter Kate is suing a swanky L.A. boutique for $230,000.

According to legal docs filed recently in L.A. County Superior Court, Majestic Mills — the company that owns Richie’s label — claims L.A. boutique Kitson received $239,437 worth of Richie’s duds to sell in their stores, but still hasn’t paid for them.

Majestic claims Kitson promised to remit within 30 days of receiving an invoice when they inked the deal earlier this year — but according to the docs, months have already gone by and Majestic has nothing to show for it.

Majestic wants Kitson to hand over every last cent for the clothes — worth $60 to $600 apiece — on top of whatever interest the boutique owes.

Calls to Kitson haven’t been returned.

Sam Ronson Named in Deadly Dog-Eat-Dog Attack

TMZ has learned … Lindsay Lohan’s ex-girlfriend Sam Ronson has been named in a brutal dog attack that occurred near her L.A. apartment … an attack that left one animal dead.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ someone called 911 around 11:10 AM … claiming a “pit bull” attacked a smaller dog … and then attacked the smaller dog’s female owner.

We’re told when officials arrived at the scene, the smaller dog was dead … but its owner suffered only minor injuries.

We’re told law enforcement has reason to believe the aggressive dog belongs to Sam Ronson … because the dog’s home address corresponds to Sam’s apartment.

Paris Hilton to Be Charged With Drug Felony

Paris Hilton will be charged with possession of a controlled substance — .8 grams of cocaine — this according to documents obtained by TMZ … and it’s a felony.

According to the police report, obtained by TMZ, the cop who stopped the Escalade pulled along the passenger side of the vehicle and smelled “the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.”

The cop writes he noticed immediately the passenger was Paris.  He then observed her trying to roll up the window.

After the traffic stop and a crowd of 100 people gathered around, Hilton said she was “extremely embarrassed” and asked the cop if she could go to the bathroom at the Wynn Hotel.

At the hotel, Paris told the cop she needed lip balm so the cop handed Paris her purse: “As she began to open it, I saw a small bindle of what I believed to be cocaine in a clear baggie begin to fall from the purse and into my hand.”

The cop also says … inside the purse was a “broken tablet of Albuterol” — a prescription medication used to control wheezing.

Paris then admitted the Albuterol was hers but she said the cocaine was not and claimed the purse was not hers — that she had borrowed it from a friend.

Note:  Paris has changed her story with friends, saying the purse was hers but had been in the possession of a friend.

Danielle Staub — My Ex is a Total Scumbag

Danielle Staub is going after her ex-husband with a vengeance — claiming the guy is such a drug-abusing, violent, sexual deviant … that his $5 million defamation lawsuit against Danielle should be thrown out of court.

Danielle just filed legal papers in L.A. County Superior Court – in which she states that Kevin Maher has “no evidence” that Danielle ever made several controversial statements about him … including accusations that Kevin killed her dog, forced her to play Russian Roulette … and even raped her.

As we previously reported, Maher filed a lawsuit against the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star — claiming she did make the alleged statements … and in doing so, she damaged his reputation to the tune of $5 million.

But Staub claims Maher has admitted to being such a scumbag in the past — that even if she did make the statements, his reputation couldn’t suffer any worse than it already has.

In fact, Staub lists several examples of Maher’s alleged scumbaggery …

According to the docs, Staub claims it’s all spelled out in Maher’s infamous biography, “Cop Without a Badge” … in which Maher admits to using cocaine, has “overactive sexual proclivities,” and once shoved a gun into the genitals of a man he thought was sleeping with Danielle.

As TMZ previously reported, Maher and Staub are attempting to settle their issues through mediation … but in case that fails, the case is set to go to trial in February.

Ex-WWE Star Luna — Pills Found in Death Investigation

TMZ has learned … investigators claim they discovered crushed Oxycodone pills and a snorting straw inside the Florida home of former WWE star Gertrude “Luna” Vachon … where she was found dead Friday morning.

According to the police report filed by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office — and obtained by TMZ — investigators claim they found a box containing Oxycodone in Luna’s kitchen … near a pile of “blue, chalky debris next to a small straw.”

Officials also claim they discovered “multiple prescription bottles and miscellaneous unsecured pills” in the master bedroom … along with a small plate that contained more pill residue and another snorting straw.

According to the report, Luna’s mother — the person who discovered the body — told cops that Luna “often appeared ‘medicated’ as she suffered from several wrestling injuries.”

Officials tell TMZ an autopsy has been completed — and an official cause of death should be determined within the next couple of weeks.

Abdul-Jabbar Slams Basketball Card Company

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is outraged that a trading card company has traded on his image after he specifically shut them down … and now Kareem is gunning for more than a million.

In a lawsuit filed today in L.A. County Superior Court and obtained by TMZ … Kareem claims The Upper Deck Company plastered 6 Kareem pics from his days as a UCLA Bruin on its “Greats of the Game” series.

Kareem … who is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer with 38,387 points … claims Upper Deck had the audacity to market the cards after he turned them down flat.

The lawsuit, filed by legal pit bull Marty Singer, notes that when Kareem left the NBA, he blocked more shots, won more Most Valuable Player awards, played in more All-Star Games and logged more seasons than any other player.  Shockingly, Singer makes no mention of Kareem’s epic performance in the greatest movie of all time — “Airplane!”

The lawsuit seeks more than $1 million in damages.
