The ‘Nothing But The Truth’ actress says she had never felt so unsexy as when she was given the honour by the US edition of Esquire magazine last October and claims the title has piled pressure on her to look good.

She said:  “I felt the least sexy I have ever felt when I was told that. I was told and I thought ‘Marvellous’. The next day the pressure was huge.

“A comedian friend of mine told me that if he was named the funniest person alive he would probably never crack a joke ever again. I woke up the next day and felt like a hunchback with blackheads. Vile. It was a real compliment at the time though.”

After she was given the award, 36-year-old Kate – who is married to director Len Wiseman and has a 10-year-old daughter Lily from her relationship with actor Michael Sheen – said she felt the need to go and “earn” the title.

She admitted: “I’m feeling that I must earn this – I need to go out and become much better at pole dancing or something.”

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie has bought her eight-year-old son an iPod.

The ‘Tomb Raider’ star – who raises six children with partner Brad Pitt – took their oldest child Maddox and his siblings Pax, six, Zahara, five, and three-year-old Shiloh on a shopping spree, where she splashed out on gifts and toys for the youngsters, including youngest children Knox and Vivienne, 18 months.

An onlooker said: “One of the store’s employees helped Angelina pick out an iPod Touch for Maddox.

“The other children played on one of the kiddie computers while their bodyguard watched them.”

After picking up some gadgets, the family moved on to the Disney Store, where she bought more toys, and department store Bloomingdale’s, where the actress treated herself to a few items.

Earlier this week, Brad and Angelina donated $1 million to help earthquake victims on the Caribbean island of Haiti.

In a statement the couple, who also run charity The Jolie-Pitt Foundation, said: “We will work closely with our good friend Wyclef Jean to support the humanitarian efforts on the island and help those who have been injured and left without homes and shelter.”

Angelina is well known for her passion for good causes, having adopted three of her children from poverty around the world – Maddox from Cambodia, Zahara from Ethiopia and Pax from Vietnam.

The ‘Poker Face’ singer, who is currently on the US leg of her international Monster Ball tour, cancelled a show in Indiana yesterday (14.01.10) at the last minute after needing medical treatment for exhaustion and dehydration.

The 23-year-old star wrote on twitter: “I’ve been crying for hours, I feel like I let my fans down 2nite. An hour before the show, I was feeling dizzy and having trouble breathing.(sic)

“Paramedics came to take care of me, and told me my heart-rate was irregular – a result of exhaustion and dehydration.

“can’t apologize enough for how sorry I am. I could hear my fans cheering from my dressing room, I begged everyone to let me go on stage. My stage has complicated mechanical elements, everyone was concerned I’d be in danger during the 2hr show, since I had passed out earlier. (sic)

“I am so devastated. I have performed with the flu, a cold, strep throat: I would never cancel a show just based on discomfort.”

She then went on to confirm that the show would be re-scheduled for January 26 and appealed for her fans’ understanding.

She added: “I hope you can forgive me. I love my little monsters more than anything.”

Commenting on the events, gossip blogger Perez Hilton, who is a friend of the star’s said on twitter: “People don’t realise how hard you work and how it’s pretty much non-stop and has been for two years!”

Claudia Schiffer is pregnant with her third child.

The German supermodel – who has two children, Caspar, six, and five-year-old Clementine, with her film producer husband Michael Vaughn – announced today (15.01.10) she is five-and-a-half months into her pregnancy and is due to deliver the tot in May.

A thrilled Claudia told Grazia magazine: “We are delighted with the news and can’t wait to add to our family.”

The 39-year-old catwalk star – who is one of the world’s most successful models – has previously spoken about how motherhood changed her entire attitude to her career.

Claudia – who married Michael, 38, in May 2002 – said: “I used to work every single day and travel round the world. I worked weekends, I never took one second off. When I met my husband I said, ‘You know what, this is important. I’m not going to work weekends any more.’ And when I had kids, I became even more careful. Modelling work is fine because you can do one day here, two days there, you’re never long gone.”

The 24-year-old actress was hotly tipped to be taking on the role of Eliza Doolittle, made famous by Audrey Hepburn in the original musical movie, in the adaptation of the classic rags-to-riches tale.

Keira met with producers Cameron Mackintosh and Duncan Kenworthy to discuss the part and even took singing lessons in preparation, but eventually decided it wasn’t for her.

Daily Mail columnist Baz Bamigboye reports: “Keira was never officially offered the part and she is believed to have felt the project was taking too long to get off the ground.”

Now Keira has ruled herself out for the role, British starlet Carey Mulligan – who is up for the Best Actress award at this weekend’s Golden Globes for her performance in the film ‘An Education’ – is rumoured to be in the running.

Several other actresses have been linked to the project, including Scarlett Johansson and Anne Hathaway, but it is believed bosses want a British star to play the London flower girl who becomes a lady after meeting and falling in love with Professor Henry Higgins.

Although Keira will not appear in ‘My Fair Lady’, she has signed up for a new big screen project.

The brunette beauty will star alongside Michael Fassbender and Christoph Waltz in David Cronenberg’s ‘The Talking Cure’.

In the movie, Christoph and Michael play psychologists Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung respectively who both try and help Keira’s character deal with the physical violence she suffered at the hands of her dad.

The reality TV star – who gave birth to Mason, her first child last month – believe she is the most intelligent one in her family, which includes her famous sisters Khloe and Kim.

She said: “Book smarts would be me first. And then Kim, Khloe, Kylie, and Kendall. Or Kendall and then Kylie. That’s the oldest order.”

Although she claims to be intelligent, Kourtney admits she isn’t that clever when it comes to sports and is particularly clueless when it comes to watching her brother-in-law Lamar Odom play basketball for the LA Lakers.

She told America’s OK! magazine: “I had no idea that he even played like, the whole game. After the game, I was like, ‘Woah, you actually play like, the whole game? Who knew? Good job, Lamar!’ ”

Kourtney recently revealed how she and boyfriend Scott Disick are keen to have another baby soon, to give four-week-old Mason a sibling.

She said: “Right now I’m obsessed with Mason and want to give him all my time. But being with him has definitely made me think about having another one! Kim and I are 18 months apart. Growing up, we did everything together. It would be nice for Mason to have a little brother or sister that many months apart too.”

The 29-year-old singer-and-actress – who has been dating Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan since late last year – has taken their relationship into her professional life after pictures appeared  on twitter of the blonde beauty in the recording studio with the rocker and producer Kerry Brown.

After Kerry posted the picture – believed to be taken as Jessica works on her new album – the star wrote of Billy, “He braids my prayers.”

‘The Dukes of Hazzard’ star seemed to be enjoying herself in the studio too as she wrote back: “Fun to be lost in laughter,” and then later adding: “I am blessed.”

Jessica – who was previously married to Nick Lachey and has dated singer John Mayer and American footballer Tony Romo – and Billy, 42, were first romantically linked in November after they both attended a Los Angeles party, though they have been friends for some time.

A source said: “She has completely fallen for Billy and his easygoing, smart attitude. She says she wants to take things a lot further.

“She had secretly been crushing on him for months and felt there was a connection at the party.

“As the night went on things got more intense and they talked with their faces just inches apart.”

The 22-year-old actress admits she still feels uneasy that fans of the ‘Twilight Saga’ – in which she plays Alice Cullen – view her as a role model but refuses to put on an act to please other people.

She said: “There was a moment in time where I was kind of having this mini-breakdown because it was all very new, and it was all being thrown at me really quickly, and I was going, ‘Why are people reporting on this? Why do people care what I’m wearing or what I’m eating, and why are people looking down on me because I’m not wearing high heels?’ That’s the downside to being in the public eye.

“When girls come up and say, You’re my role model,’ it’s really flattering, but it’s also really scary because I’m not perfect and I’m going to make mistakes. I’ve just decided that I have to continue to live my life and do what I do. Hopefully, people love me because of who I am, not who I pretend to be.”

The actress was working as a waitress when she landed the role and is still amazed at how quickly her life changed because she hasn’t yet had time to reflect on her success.

She explained to Interview magazine: “It’s a really hard thing to wrap your head around. was working at a restaurant, I booked the role in ‘Twilight’, put in my two weeks’ notice, got fitted, flew to Portland, filmed, and then it started getting hype. That helped me get my foot into certain doors before the movie even came out.

“I did four independent films during the break between ‘Twilight’ and ‘New Moon’. I haven’t even really had time to sit back and process it all. But when you do finally sit back and think about it, it’s incredible.”

The supermodel had a passionate affair with the heir to Italy’s now abolished throne – Prince Emmanuele Filiberto Umberto Reza Maria Di Savoia – in 2002.

The royal – who lives in exile in Switzerland – was introduced to the supermodel by singer Marianne Faithful when they visited him in Corsica.

Prince Emmanuelle, 37, said: “We were together about eight months and she was a fascinating woman, not weird at all.

“She came on a yacht to my house in Corsica. She was meant to stay three days but stayed three weeks.”

Emmanuele has fond memories of his time with 35-year-old Kate – who is currently dating The Kills rocker Jamie Hince and has a seven-year-old daughter Lila Grace from a previous relationship – and even penned a song to commemorate their affair.

He added: “I even wrote a song for her with Marianne called ‘The Pleasure Song’, about ways to love. Then our relationship ended because that’s how things go, but I remember her as a very passionate lady. We were young, our roads drifted and we split up.” The prince later went on to marry French actress Clotilde Courau, 40.

Rebecca Romijn is amazed at how different her twin daughters are.

The 37-year-old actress – who is married to Jerry O’Connell – understands why 13-month-old Charlie and Dolly bear little resemblance to one another physically but is particularly bemused by “easy going” Charlie’s nature.

She said: “Dolly looks exactly how I looked as a baby and Charlie looks exactly how Jerry looked as a baby.

“Charlie personality-wise doesn’t take after anyone. She’s really easy going and always smiling, doesn’t cry very much. I don’t think either of us are that easygoing.. I mean we’re fun but we’re not that easy going!”

The twins’ personality differences became apparent during the shooting of a ‘Got Milk?’ advertisement with their mother in September, with Dolly hating the experience and Charlie enjoying the attention.

Rebecca – who previously starred in an ad for the campaign in 1998 – explained to People magazine: “I think this is one of maybe three frames where Dolly wasn’t screaming her head off and that was way more chaotic than the one that I did in 1998. I think Jerry was probably doing cartwheels behind the photographer trying to get them to calm down.

“Charlie was loving it — loving the lights, loving everyone standing around looking at her.”

Jake Gyllenhaal “can’t wait” to become an action figure.

The 29-year-old actor plans to head straight to the shops as soon as his character from forthcoming movie ‘Prince of Persia: Sands of Time’ is immortalised in plastic.

He said: “A lot of people find it weird to have little action figures of themselves, but I think it’s great. In fact it’s awesome! I can’t wait. I’m going to buy loads.”

In the film – which is based on the popular video game series – Jake plays hero Dastan who teams up with Princess Tamina, played by Gemma Arterton, to find ancient artefact the Sands of Time in the adventure which is set in 6th Century Persia.

Jake isn’t the only star happy to have been turned into an action figure.

Sienna Miller was delighted when her character in ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra’, The Baroness, was made into a doll.

She said: “I’ll have happy nieces and nephews. My Baroness doll is so flexible too. Her foot can even flex 360 degrees. Kids will be killing me though because I’m the baddie!”

However, her joy soon turned to horror when she realised the figurine showed off parts of her body she would rather keep private.

Sienna said: “I got measured in this pod so the doll is exactly to scale – every nook and cranny. They showed me my bald head before it was painted on and it was me! That was weird.”

Ronnie Wood has split from his second Russian girlfriend.

The Rolling Stones guitarist’s brief romance with Hannah Kamelmacher came to an end after she dumped him by telephone – saying she didn’t like the attention going out with him attracted.

She told The Sun newspaper: “We last saw each other on Sunday (10.01.10) but it has been a very challenging couple of days and I would not want to see him again.

“I’d never dated anyone much older than me or anyone famous.

“We watched movies, went for a meal and went to the snooker. He was very kind and gave me a scarf from his collection.”

Hannah, 26, had met Ronnie, 62, in a bar last Wednesday (06.01.10) – a month after he split from Katia Ivanova – and they went on two dates last week, to a Chinese restaurant in Surrey and the Masters Snooker tournament in London.

According to friends, Hannah also stayed over at his Surrey mansion.

One pal revealed: “She said Ronnie was really keen on her. They spent time together on Friday (08.01.10) at his house and she stayed the night. I know the first night they met he wanted her to go back to his place but she said no.

“She gave him her number, but wasn’t sure if he’d actually call.”

The 38-year-old actor’s wife Rhea Durham – with who he already has children Ella, six, Michael, four and Brendan, 16 months – gave birth to daughter Margaret Grace at 6.35pm last night (11.01.10) at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

A source said: “Mark was in the delivery room with Rhea. And he cheered her on all the way. Rhea was a real trouper, and now they can’t wait to get home and be a big happy family with their four kids.”

The ‘Lovely Bones’ star revealed last October that he and his model spouse –who he married last August after eight years together – were expecting their second baby girl.

He said: “I’m having another girl. So I’ll have two girls and two boys.”

While the family were thrilled to be having a fourth child, Mark was adamant that they will have no more.

He said: “I’m the youngest of nine, and my dad has a few others. No, four is enough. We were all raised with a lot of love. But we didn’t get the kind of attention I think that we all needed.

“My parents had to provide to put food on the table. My mission in life is to raise my kids right. With all the success I’ve had in the world, if I fail at that, my life means nothing.”

She said: “My New Year’s resolution is to not get papped while I’m p***ed, like I did on my birthday. Everybody does it, but we just have to be a bit careful now.

The ‘Gossip Girl’ star has to get intimate in her new movie ‘The Town’ – in which she plays the ex-girlfriend of a gang leader who is trying to turn his back on a life of crime – and admits she was out of her comfort zone when filming it.

She said: “I have a sex scene in this film and that’s never comfortable. You think, ‘Oh, this is going to be so awkward.’ But this scene isn’t supposed to be a steamy one – it’s sort of tragic. I’m pretty much crying in it.”

The music mogul was concerned viewers would react badly to his ‘Mr. Nasty’ persona if he agreed to be on the judging panel of ‘American Idol’ after appearing on the UK version ‘Pop Idol’, but was eventually persuaded.

‘American Idol’ went on to be one of the biggest successes on US TV but Nigel says they were careful not to let viewers get bored with the star-search talent show.

The pop star is working alongside ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ actor Justin Chambers in asking potential bone marrow donors to come forward and help save the life of the Yale Law School graduate.

Seun is astonished both Rihanna and Justin have taken the time to help him.

He said: “I am deeply touched by their plea for donors, not just for me, but for others as well. Their voices are so powerful and it encourages me how they used their influence to raise awareness about this important issue. That was incredible.”

Rihanna previously made successful public pleas both last year and in 2008 to help six-year-old Jasmina Anema and 43-year-old Lisa Flynn find bone marrow transplants.

The unnamed paparazzo was hurt as the vehicle carrying Lindsay accelerated away from Hollywood bar the Hotel Cafe. The 23-year-old actress was not driving.

Although the man did not go to hospital, he claimed he was “lucky to be alive” after the incident.

The photographer also claimed the driver of the car – who now faces a criminal probe – was wearing sunglasses while driving down the dark alley.

He reportedly added: “I’m going to sue them, but I don’t care about the money. I want to press charges so badly – she’s going to jail.”

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department, Sergeant Vasquez, said: “I was informed by an officer that a vehicle had sped away at a high rate of speed and hit a paparazzi photographer causing an injury to his hand, his wrist.”

Authorities are investigating the incident, but are not treating it as a hit-and-run.

‘Mean Girls’ actress Lindsay is currently on three years’ probation, after pleading guilty to drink driving and drug charges, part of a plea bargain made by the star in August 2007.

The 54-year-old actor sparked protests over his plans to shoot scenes – believed to be for ‘How I Spent My Summer Vacation’, a movie he has written and stars in – at the Ignacio Allende prison in the eastern state of Veracruz, after 214 inmates had to be sent to at least four other detention centres in the country to accommodate the set.

The prisoners were escorted from the jail – which usually houses 1,000 convicts – by police and soldiers between midnight on Friday (08.01.10) until roughly 3am on Saturday morning (09.01.10).

Despite the early hours, the move resulted in furious scenes of protest from friends and relatives, who claimed they would have to travel further to make their regular visitations to their loved ones.

Those transported during the operation have been held on murder, robbery, drug trafficking, kidnapping and other serious charges.

In ‘How I Spent My Summer Vacation’, Mel portrays a career criminal caught in Mexico and placed in a tough prison, learning to survive after a nine-year-old boy offers him help.

The film is due for release in 2011.

The ‘Rocky’ actor, who has had his paintings displayed at Art Basel Miami Beach, claimed films rarely live up to the hype because of the scale of production.
He said: “Movies are a vision dependent upon three or four hundred people to accomplish it. So there’s great compromising.
“And so much is lost in the translation. So when you get up there, it’s maybe 40 per cent of the way you envisaged it. Because of the finance thing, and the actor doesn’t interpret it properly. Or the director isn’t on form that day and he missed the whole point.

He also suggested many of his art pieces come out being in a bad mood.
Sylvester told The Sunday Times: “I find that the more unhappy you are, the more confused you are, the better your art is. Happy art, it just doesn’t seem to work for me”

The 46-year-old singer, who made his name in the pop band alongside Andrew Ridgeley in the 80s, claimed it would be impossible to re-capture the feel of the group 20 years later.

He said: “Wham! was about being young and exuberant and you can’t recreate that feeling at a certain age.

“Andrew Ridgeley and I are still good friends but I’m afraid we’ll never get back together. We both agree on that.”

Although George is proud of the duo’s legacy, there is one song he isn’t keen on – their 1984 hit ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go’.

The ‘Fastlove’ singer said: “I’m not keen on that song. I haven’t sung it for a long time.”

As well as being unsure about some of the band’s songs, George has previously confessed he made some fashion faux-pas while in Wham!.

He said: “When I see myself. I cringe mostly! Take the blonde hair. I wanted to have long, blond, straight hair because I didn’t really want to be me.

“Looking back, I suppose I could have done without those curtain rings in my ears as well.”

The former ‘Baywatch’ star has decided to call time on her romance with surfer-and-electrician Jamie Padgett – who she has been dating since she met him at Malibu’s Cove Trailer Park, the place she was living at while her house was being renovated – but is still friends with the hunk.

Pamela – who spent most of December in the UK starring in pantomime ‘Aladdin’ – told a friend it was over between her and Jamie.

A source told RadarOnline: “Pam made it pretty clear she is no longer dating Jamie and that she was looking for a new love interest.

“She didn’t have anything bad to say about him and described him as a ‘sweet guy’ and that she hoped they would remain friends.”

It seems Pamela’s ex-husband Tommy Lee – who she famously starred in a homemade sex tape with – may also have had a hand in the break-up.

The source added: “Tommy was jealous of Jamie and Pam’s relationship and he had given their two sons Brandon and Dylan some surfing lessons.”

When Jamie was asked about his relationship with Pamela he didn’t seem to know what was going on.

He said: “Pam is a fine mother and she does some great work for animal rights through PETA. I did not go to London with her over the holidays as I was doing my own thing – it’s up to her to say if we are dating or not. I will see her when I see her.”
