The Oscar-winning actress doesn’t want to disrupt 17-month-old Sunday Rose’s schedule too much so has turned down roles so they can remain in their Nashville home.

Nicole – who is married to country singer Keith Urban – said: “I just can never be away from her, so she comes wherever I go, as you see. Have baby, will travel. She’s OK on planes, but honestly, we stay in Nashville a lot. That’s why I don’t work that much. It’s harder now to pack to her up. At 17 months, it’s a different type of travelling. When they’re six weeks, they’re easier to travel with. And you’re breast-feeding, so it’s easy to feed.”

However, Nicole did sign up to star in new musical movie ‘Nine’ shortly after Sunday’s birth and says she has her daughter to thank for the curves she shows off in the film.

She told the USA Today newspaper: “I was wrapped into that dress. I was! That’s when I had big boobs from the milk! That’s the benefit of the breast-feeding.”

He said: “We hit it off immediately. I think we knew emotionally that we would become good friends. We just started talking about books – I was reading David Mitchells ‘Cloud Atlas’ at the time – and certain other stuff that we were into.”

Jamie – who met Sophie at a charity event for the Lavender Trust two-and-a-half years ago – said he never thought the former model would be interested in him.

He told the Observer newspaper: “Someone like me never entertains the idea of going after someone like her, so I didn’t go for it. I couldn’t assume that she would be interested in me… but it worked!

“Lucky old me – it turned out to be much more. I think it was to do with the fact that I always carry a good boy around with me. In my case I was actually reading it, although it’s a good chat-up tip, I think, to always carry a good, thick book.”

The 41-year-old British director – whose 2002 movie ‘Swept Away’ starring his ex-wife Madonna, 51, flopped at the cinema and went straight to DVD in the UK – said he wasn’t upset by the critics, because you have to do some things wrong in order to know what works.

He said: “’Swept Away’ was always going to have a limited audience. The idea was that it was going to be a small film…  but you can’t do small films with the ex.”

The romantic comedy was a disaster at the box office, just like his 2005 film ‘Revolver’ which starred Jason Stratham, but Guy said he doesn’t take too much criticism on board, and in fact, ‘Revolver’ was still his favourite movie.

He said:  “I think on reflection it always will be. Celebrity culture can only be capricious and ephemeral, sometimes you are in synch with what everybody wants, sometimes you are not.”

Speaking to The Sunday Times newspaper, Guy said one of the best things about making his newest film, ‘Sherlock Holmes’ – starring Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. – was the huge £80 million budget he was given.

He said: “It was good having deep pockets, I never had deep pockets before.”

The 30-year-old Babyshambles singer was escorted from Gloucester Crown Court to a local police station by officers on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.

A spokeswoman for Gloucestershire Constabulary confirmed: “A 30-year-old Wiltshire man has been arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a controlled substance. He is currently assisting police with their inquiries.”

It has not been revealed what substance he was believed to have been in possession of when he was arrested.

Earlier, Pete had pleaded guilty to careless and drink driving charges and received a £2,050 fine and an 18-month driving ban, despite having already been banned from driving in 2007 and never renewing his license.

The charges related to an arrest in June, when he was caught driving away from a concert after consuming more than half a bottle of rum on stage.

The court heard the rocker had 21 previous drug offences and six previous motoring offences. He had no convictions for driving.

Singer Emma is quoted by the Daily Express newspaper as saying: “We all go over to David and Victoria’s for lovely food and good wine. It’s the only time we all get to see each other, we get a bit tipsy and listen to Spice Girls songs. I can’t believe I’ve admitted that!”

In addition to preparing for their annual get together, the former bandmates have been spending a lot more time together recently as they work on their upcoming musical.

Earlier this year, the group revealed they are working on a stage production called ‘Viva Forever’ – which will depict the girls’ rags-to-riches rise to fame.

The musical will include 14 of the band’s biggest tracks and is due to open on November 5 next year.

A source said: “People are still questioning many things about the private life of this secretive pop star. Michael was an enigma and lived in riches and a lifestyle unlike anyone since Elvis Presley.

“This dossier is an incredibly important key to understanding what happened behind closed doors, and may help the world better understand Michael.”

Also included in the pages of the report are details of death threats made to the singer and efforts by a private jet company to profit from the alleged child abuse charges against him by installing hidden cameras in a plane used by the star.

Two cameras were placed on the plane, which was taking Michael to hand himself over for police questioning.

However, some parts of the document will remain hidden – including information relating to his death earlier this year – as it is part of an ongoing inquiry.

Michael died suddenly in June of acute poisoning from the powerful anaesthetic Propofol.

A telephone call was reportedly made from the ‘Everyday’ singer’s home to emergency services in the early hours of Sunday morning because of a medical problem with one of his four children.

Because of a severe snowstorm, a sports utility vehicle (SUV) was rushed to the house in New Jersey instead of an ambulance and the youngster was taken to the nearby Riverview Medical Center in Redbank.

Gossip website TMZ reported: “A call was placed from Bon Jovi’s home at around 2:20 AM.”

The son – either Jesse, 14, Jacob, seven or five-year-old Romeo – was released a few hours later.

The incident was reportedly not serious, but the reasons behind the emergency dash remain unclear.

Police have refused to confirm which of Jon’s sons had been taken ill.

Earlier this year, the rocker celebrated his 20th wedding anniversary to his childhood sweetheart, Dorothea Hurley.

He said: “Best investment I ever made. Trust me she is the best. I am very happy.”

The couple also have a daughter Stephanie, 16.

The Pussycat Dolls singer has been dating the British Formula One ace for nearly three years, but they have reportedly not seen each other in three weeks and shelved plans to spend Christmas together.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Lewis and Nicole have had a few problems for a while now. They love each other dearly but have incredibly busy schedules.

“Nicole was in London last week and was desperate to hook up with Lewis but she was busy in the studio while he is on a European training camp and couldn’t come back.

“Hopefully after a month apart, they will come to their senses and give things another go.”

“I loved working with Brittany. She was so talented, so warm and so sweet.”

Another one of Brittany’s co-stars, Mena Suvari, paid tribute to her after getting to know her when they worked on 2002 film ‘Spun’.

She tweeted: “I’m just sooo devastated now. Found out Brittany Murphy died earlier this morning + I’m shocked. We worked together + I knew her for yrs.

The ‘8 Mile’ actress passed away at the age of 32 yesterday morning (20.12.09) but authorities have already ruled out foul play, despite persistent rumours she was addicted to prescription drugs.

Coroner’s Captain John Kades said: “Foul play is not suspected at this time because there were no outward signs of trauma or other injuries.

“We don’t have an autopsy scheduled yet, but we will do it as soon as possible. Given all the worldwide attention, if we can get it done today (21.12.09), we will.”

However, sources say several prescriptions were found in the house, written for various members of the household including Brittany – who reportedly suffered from diabetes – husband Simon Monjack and the actress’ mother.

One source said: “There were a lot of prescriptions in the house.”

Insiders say the actress had been suffering from flu-like symptoms for days – which she was taking medication for – and had begun vomiting shortly before her death, telling her family she felt “very unwell”.

According to reports, when her mother found her body in the bathroom of her Hollywood home, there was “a significant amount of vomit” in the room.

One of the ‘Clueless’ star’s neighbours said paramedics were in the house for almost an hour before taking her body to an ambulance on a stretcher.

The onlooker said “One paramedic was still working on her. First, I couldn’t even tell that it was Brittany that was on the stretcher. I looked like an older woman. Brittany was completely white and her face was covered with a mask. You could tell that something horrible had happened.”

Police later attended the house for what they have described as a “routine” death investigation.

In addition to the autopsy, toxicology tests to look for traces of drugs and alcohol in Brittany’s system will also be carried out, but the results will not be known for six weeks.

The actress’ family have released a statement about the “terrible tragedy”.

It read: “The sudden loss of our beloved Brittany is a terrible tragedy. She was our daughter, our wife, our love and a shining star. We ask you to respect our privacy at this time.”

Brittany’s estranged father, Angelo Bertolotti – who hadn’t seen the actress in several years – also paid tribute to her.

He said: “She was just an absolute doll since she was born… Her personality was always outward. Everybody loved her.

“She was just so talented. I loved her very much.”

The actor initially had doubts about starring in ‘Sherlock Holmes’, but because of his new mantra, he was desperate not to miss out on working with such a highly-regarded actor.

He said: “That was in my mind when I met Robert for the first time. I wanted to work with him, so I said I’d do ‘Sherlock Holmes’. Then, of course, two days later I thought, ‘What am I doing? I’m going to play Dr. Watson and this is insane because is it really what I want to do?

“Luckily it evolved into a wonderful experience.”

Jude also used the role to dispel previous beliefs his character was “bumbling and stupid”.

He explained to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “One of the dynamics missing from the earlier film interpretations was a more accurate representation of Watson.

“There’s no mention in Conan Doyle’s stories of him being bumbling and stupid. That came about in the earlier movies because actor Basil Rathbone wanted a comic actor to play opposite him so that he looked more important and more serious in comparison. I rather liked the opportunity of bringing back some of the more accurate and edgy qualities.”

The Australian actor – who stars as a blue alien called Jake Sully in ‘Avatar’, the 3-D animated film by director James Cameron – insists he didn’t solely rely on technology for the role.

He said: “I had nothing on. I had a loincloth on and they painted me blue, basically”.

“I would do that most times, doesn’t matter if James Cameron wants me to do it. I do it most times. He had to struggle to put clothes on me today!”

The ‘Viva la Vida’ hitmakers are hoping to raise thousands of pounds for the Kids Company charity by selling off a series of items including the footwear they donned at the 2000 Glastonbury festival, frontman Chris Martin’s first ever guitar and the four iconic jackets which the band made themselves and wore throughout their ‘Viva La Vida’ world tour.

Among other clothing, artwork and memorabilia being sold on auction website eBay is guitarist Jonny Buckland’s battered cap which he was seen wearing every day on their world tour.

Chris’ guitar, which has ‘Christopher AJ Martin’ inscribed on it in tippex and was used to write many of Coldplay’s early songs, is expected to raise the most money,

Coldplay are also auctioning a collection of signed lithographs, available on a first-come, first-served basis, which cost only £10 each and will appear on the ‘Kids Company’ eBay page at random times during the duration of the sale.

Coldplay’s ‘End of the Decade Clearout Sale’ opens today (18.12.09) and runs until December 31.

The American football star’s supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen gave birth to a baby boy last week and Tom admits it’s been quite tough.

Talking about life in their household, he told People magazine: “It’s all good but I’m glad the first week is over. I’m trying to get back to my normal sleep schedule, which I’m sure, for all of us parents, is a little tough, but it’s coming.”

Earlier this week, Tom – who has a two-year-old son John with ex-partner Bridget Moynahan – revealed the couple are yet to pick a name for their son.

He said in a radio interview: “We thought we had a name picked for about six months and then, about two days before he was born, Gisele said, ‘I don’t like that name any more.’ So, it was kind of back to the drawing board. I tell you, we’ve got about seven or eight choices. But I’ve been practicing I’ve got to be home for more than two hours to sit down so we can talk about it.”

Although Tom knew the sex of the child, Gisele chose not to find out before the birth.

A friend said: “He has really bonded with her since losing his mother and needs another strong woman in his life.”

The pair are heading to an eight-bedroom, £2,000-a-night villa in the Dominican Republic for the romantic occasion.
