The ‘Russian Roulette’ singer – who had a difficult 2009 after being assaulted by then-boyfriend Chris Brown in February – plans to get rid of as many of her bad habits as possible next year.

She said:  “I want to stop shopping, being late, start waking up early, stuff like that.”

Although her career is going from strength-to-strength, the 21-year-old star has vowed not to let her work get in the way of spending time with her loved ones.

She added: “I’d like to see my mum and grandparents more. I don’t have a lot of girlfriends, but the one I do have is around me all the time.”

Career-wise, the ‘Umbrella’ hitmaker also has a number of achievements she would like to accomplish in the coming decade.

She explained: “I want to learn the drums and I want to work with Depeche Mode so bad.”

The US TV host was awarded the title by People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) for her work in raising awareness of their campaigns promoting a lifestyle which is friendly to nature.

Tim Gunn, who appears on fashion programme ‘Project Runway’ in the US, was named Man Of The Year.

PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk said: “Tim Gunn and Ellen DeGeneres show us that one person really can make a difference in the world by rejecting cruel deeds in favour of compassionate acts.

“Their message that animals must be treated kindly and respectfully has reached scores of people, and many of them have changed their buying habits, all because Gunn and DeGeneres spoke up for the voiceless.”

Ellen, who fronts a self titled show, said she was delighted by the honour.

She tweeted: “I’m honoured PETA named me ‘Person of The Year’. I thank them for protecting animals every single day. Amazing.”

PETA said it gave its accolade to Ellen for being vegan and championing the meat and dairy-free lifestyle by inviting experts like Jonathan Safran Foer and Dr. Neal Barnard on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’.

Tim’s contributions include narrating the charity’s ‘Fashion Victims’ video, about extreme practices in the fur and reptile skin trade and for being creative director at fur-free fashion chain Liz Claiborne.

Both stars will be awarded plaques and a letter of appreciation.

The ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ actor was dining at upmarket Italian eatery Lavo with his model girlfriend Miranda Kerr, actress Rosario Dawson and other friends when a fellow diner accidentally spilled a drink all over his expensive shirt.

An onlooker said: “Everybody on the table let out a gasp when the guy spilled his drink on Orlando. He was perfectly cool about it though – rather than flying into a rage he laughed it off.”

British hunk Orlando and his party then devised a plan so he could continue partying, and after making a phone call, within half an hour an employee appeared with three crisp new shirts for the actor to try on.

Rather than retiring to the restrooms to change however, he simply took his shirt off in front of the restaurant, bearing his famously rippled torso.

The source added: “Orlando pulled the wet shirt off, and was sitting there at his table half naked while his friend helped him into the new shirt. Mind you with his muscles, he could get away with it.”

She told Life and Style magazine: “It’s just so indescribable. You don’t get how good being a parent feels until it happens to you. We’re on Mason’s schedule, waking up every couple of hours to breast-feed. But it’s fun to get up and see him. I miss him by the time I see him again.”

Kourtney and Scott are so enamoured by their new arrival, they are already thinking of extending their family further.

The former Spice Girl splashed out £2,000 on the pet pooch for the soccer star and gave it to him during the family’s festive celebrations at their UK home Beckingham Palace, in Hertfordshire.

The as yet unnamed mutt will soon be flown out to Los Angeles to live with the couple and their three sons – Brooklyn, ten, Romeo, seven, and four-year-old Cruz.

Victoria, 35, chose that particular breed because it is synonymous with the fighting spirit of the England soccer team and the country.

A family friend told The Sun newspaper: “David absolutely loves the bulldog. Victoria said she chose the breed because it is a symbol of David’s spirit on the soccer field. He will be flown out to Los Angeles so the boys can look after it when their dad is away.”

The dog is the third canine addition to the Beckham household. David, 34, already has two Rottweilers named Snoopy and Puff after rap superstars Snoop Dog and P. Diddy, formerly known as Puff Daddy.

David and Victoria spent Christmas Day (25.12.09) with their children, British TV chef Gordon Ramsay, his wife Tana and their four children, David’s parents Sandra and Ted, his sister Joanne and Victoria’s parents Tony and Jackie.

The Bulldog is one of the UK’s four national animals and during World War II British Prime Minister Winston Churchill was commonly referred to as the ‘British Bulldog’ and characterised as the animal to represent his unbreakable spirit.

The Hollywood couple – who raise six children together – gave the American SOS Villages in Florida and Illinois the Christmas present after being impressed by the work they do.

Angelina said of the generous gift: “We have seen firsthand the remarkable job SOS does to raise orphaned and abandoned children and keep families together. No one ‘ages out’ of an SOS Village: vocational training, advanced education, living assistance and moral support are there forever.”

The SOS Villages house over 200 disadvantaged children and Brad said it was important to show gratitude for the work they do.

He said: “In this holiday season, many of us take for granted that we are surrounded by loving family members. The poor outcomes for foster children indicate that we must do a much better job of supporting them.”

It was recently revealed Brad and Angelina donated $6.8 million to charity last year after raising the money through their Jolie-Pitt Foundation.

According to The Hollywood Reporter – which received a copy of the 2008 tax return for the charity – the Jolie-Pitt Foundation banked $13 million in 2008 and over half was given back to good causes.

The actress – who died at the age of 32 on December 20 following a cardiac arrest – provided the vocals for DJ Paul Oakenfold’s 2006 dance track ‘Faster Kill Pussycat’ but wasn’t keen to be credited on the song.

Paul revealed: “I said to her, ‘Why hide behind something? You have a really great vocal. People are going to be shocked and pleasantly happy with what they’re going to hear. You are not one of these actresses who are trying to sing and not doing a good job of it.’

“I demoed three other girls on that song – and some of the girls were pretty big singers – and Brittany blew them away.”

The Grammy-nominated artist also revealed Brittany was in the process of recording her own album and says it’s the world’s loss they won’t ever be able to hear it.

He told People magazine: “She would have done well. She wanted to try this with me, this smoky blues sound with electronic rhythms. She wanted to sound more traditional originally but I told her we should go more edgy. She was really excited by that and it’s just a shame it never got as far as people thought it could. It’s just a shame that the world is not going to hear more songs of Brittany Murphy.”

Brittany was laid to rest on Christmas Eve (24.12.09) at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, in Hollywood.

Her husband Simon Monjack gave a eulogy in which he described her as his “soul mate” and the service was overseen by a Christian minister and a rabbi and included the hymn ‘Amazing Grace’.

After the private ceremony, her family released a statement which read: “Brittany was an incredibly loving and passionate person and an artist to her core – she loved acting, singing, dancing and performing.

“A bright light that lit the world is forever dimmed, but will live on in the hearts of those that Brittany touched.”

Marion Cotillard for ‘Nine’

She played Luisa Contini in the film adaptation of the Tony Award for Best Musical-winning musical ‘Nine’. The film has received moderate reviews from critics.

Gabby Sidibe For ‘Precious’

American actress who made her acting debut in the role of Claireece “Precious” Jones in the 2009 film ‘Precious’. The film portrays 16-year-old Claireece “Precious” Jones (Gabourey Sidibe) who lives in the New York City neighborhood of Harlem with her dysfunctional family.

The 1946 feel-good family movie – which stars James Stewart as a man who commits suicide on Christmas Eve and meets his guardian angel who shows him what life would have been like if he’d never existed – won 17 per cent of the vote in a poll of over 3,000 people.

Despite being nominated for five Oscars, ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ didn’t win any, but the film has since been recognised by the American Film Institute as one of the 100 best American films ever made.

Coming a close second with 16 per cent of the vote was ‘Home Alone’, the movie which catapulted Macaulay Culkin to stardom when he played eight-year-old Kevin, who is accidentally left behind when his family headed to France for Christmas.

Kathryn Jacob, chief executive of Pearl and Dean, who commissioned the poll, said: “Christmas is renowned as a time when families come together and enjoy watching films- old and new.

“‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ and ‘Home Alone’ ignite the feeling of nostalgia that we often enjoy around Christmas time.”

The Richard Curtis romantic comedy ‘Love Actually’ – which follows the lives of eight very different couples in dealing with their love lives during a frantic month before Christmas – came third, followed by ‘Miracle on 34th Street’ and ‘The Muppet Christmas Carol’ in fourth and fifth place respectively.

The ‘Back to Black’ singer voluntarily attended Milton Keynes police station  to answer questions about an incident at the city’s theatre on Saturday  and was formally arrested and charged with a Section 5 public order offence and common assault.

Amy is accused of kicking the theatre’s front-of-house manager Richard Pound after he tried to eject her from the audience during a performance of pantomime ‘Cinderella’.

The 26-year-old star – who is thought to have been drinking – reportedly spent more than half an hour of the first act of the performance yelling expletives.

Her outbursts were said to include “f**k Cinders, Prince Charming, marry me” and branding the Ugly Sisters “b***hes.”

Families in the audience got upset when Amy repeatedly stood up, blocking their view to jeer at the cast.

She is due to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 20 January 2010.

he 80s pop band – who are best known for their song ‘When Will I Be Famous?’ – are planning to do a one-off concert at London’s O2 Arena.

Luke Goss – who was joined in the group by twin brother Matt and third member Craig Logan – said: “We want to do a show, somewhere like the O2, and then say, ‘Thanks a lot, see ya!’

“If I can find a bunch of people – and Matt and I can see eye-to-eye with them on things we want to do – then, yes, we’re doing it.”

Luke, 41, is adamant the reunion will not be a permanent one.

He added: “We’d do a show that was amazing. I want it to stand up today. I don’t want it to be a nostalgia-only driven thing.”

Since the band split in 1992, Luke become an actor and has starred in several films including ‘Blade II’.

Matt continued to release music and also appeared on UK reality TV show ‘Hell’s Kitchen’, while Craig, who was once engaged to Dannii Minogue, is now the boss of a record label.

He left the band in 1989 and sued for unpaid royalties, later receiving £1 million.

The 24-year-old ‘Not Fair’ singer was seen enjoying a meal at London restaurant Quo Vadis with her boyfriend Sam Cooper, wearing a shining band.

An onlooker in the restaurant told the Daily Star newspaper: “It seemed like they were celebrating something but Lily’s smile vanished when she saw the cameras.

“She looked determined not to have her picture taken with the ring on.”

However, her spokesperson has denied she is betrothed to Sam, saying: “She often wears a ring on that finger.”

Lily has been dating the 44-year-old builder since the summer, and she recently revealed they keep the romance alive in their relationship by taking mini-breaks in Europe.

She said: “If I’m on tour in Europe, Sam will fly out on a Friday night when he’s finished work and stay with me for the weekend and then fly back on a Sunday. We talk to each other two or three times a day.”

He added: “Stephen’s death has put everything into perspective and taught me that life is short and fragile. You have to smile every day, laugh every day and tell your loved ones that you love them every day because you never know what’s round the corner.”
