The music event’s organiser Michael Eavis has signed up the Irish rockers – Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. – to perform for the first time at the world famous festival which celebrates its 40th anniversary next year.

A source said: “Everyone is over the moon that the deal has been done. Michael really wanted a huge name for the 40th anniversary and the fact U2 have never played Glastonbury in their 32-year career only adds to the mystique.”

The ‘Get On Your Boots’ hitmakers – who will headline the festival on Friday June 25, in Somerset, England – have been in discussions with Michael, 74, for some time.

The source added to Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “Eavis has been asking them for a while now and really stepped up the effort this year. This could be an iconic moment.”

Glastonbury tickets sold out just hours after their release last month, even though no acts had been named.

At the time, Michael promised the festival would be full of the world’s best musicians.

He said: “There will be three or four superstars. The expectations are really high and we’re trying to get the best headliners in the world.”

‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You’ singer Andy Williams recently revealed he had also been booked to perform at the world-famous event.

Veteran rockers The Rolling Stones are favourites to headline the final night of the three-day event, while Radiohead and Beyonce Knowles have also been tipped to appear.

Seven animals ran through the streets of Cadiz, Southern Spain, where the Hollywood actor’s latest project ‘Knight and Day’ – which also stars Cameron Diaz – was being shot on Sunday (22.11.09).

Two women were injured during the incident, which ended when the bulls were captured on a beach, and all work on the movie has been suspended by the major’s office.

A spokesperson for the major’s office said: “Nothing will be filmed in Cadiz until we have a new plan that guarantees the safety of local residents.”

Rehearsals for scenes which re-enact the famous running of the bulls, which takes place annually in Pamplona, Northern Spain, had been taking place last week.

Neither Tom or Cameron were present on Sunday but both are scheduled to fly into the country this weekend.

The 83-year-old Playboy publisher – who is currently dating Crystal Harris and twins Karissa and Kristina Shannon – choked on a sex toy while in bed with a group of his girlfriends.

The Australian actor says he enjoyed undertaking daring stunts and physical challenges when making ‘Avatar’ and found his subsequent movie commitments less fulfilling.

He said: “To be honest I craved a gun and a sword while I was doing ‘Last Night’ opposite Keira Knightley. I didn’t get the same kind of rush from the kissing scenes.”

Despite the physical nature of his role as a paraplegic ex-marine in ‘Avatar’, Sam insists he didn’t do any training or preparation before filming began because he finds exercise “pointless.”

He said: “I did nothing. I am not one of these yoga ‘I only want wheatgrass and blueberry muffins’ guys, and I don’t go to the gym, I think it’s pointless. If I pick up something heavy it’s because I’m going to move it.”

Despite his lack of fitness preparation, Sam was happy to get involved with the physical challenges on the movie – even when director James Cameron insisted on hurling objects at him.

He explained: “I’m scared of nothing. Every scene is tough but it’s fun and liberating.

“Jim’s very clever at giving you something tactile to react to, so in one scene when a tree explodes, he had a group of people throwing foam and debris at me.

“Jim would hit me with a big rubber stick as I ran by and I would go flying across the room from the shock waves. When you watch it back you see the explosion and then my blue alien flies across the screen – it looks amazing, like I’ve been blown apart.

“Jim hired me because he said I am brave enough to take on any challenge. And I love it, it’s fun.”

The ‘She-Wolf’ singer insists that sexual desire has more of an impact on the world than religion and believes people need to give in to their natural urges for the good of humanity.

She said: “I do think libido is the engine of the world. Forward or backwards. For good or ill. Sometimes when we repress our libido we regress. When we were in the Dark Ages, it was a question of humanity somehow managing to forget about itself. We put God in the centre of society, and people forgot about their own nature and desires. There was a huge deal of repression.”

The 32-year-old singer says that as she gets older, she is becoming increasingly comfortable with herself and her desires.

She explained: “Every day now I discover something new. Go through phases in which I feel much more in touch with my feminine side, in ways I never thought possible. I’m letting the woman inside of me speak, the desires of this woman, speak as loud as they can.”

Shakira also believes society is changing to be more accepting but admits even she was surprised when she got positive feedback from an elderly nun over the raunchy video for her single ‘She-Wolf’.

She added to Britain’s Observer newspaper: “Not too long ago my mum ran into one nun at home, who’d known me, and the nun told her, ‘Oh my God, I watched the ‘She-Wolf’ video, and Shakira looks phenomenal in it! He said: “I’m a huge James Bond fan. I’d love to be a Bond baddie. I’ve seen pretty much every Bond film. Sean Connery is my favourite and I really like ‘Goldeneye’ with Pierce Brosnan.”

As well as playing a villain, 22-year-old Zac also wants to be seduced by an older woman on the big screen, revealing his ideal part would be to star in a remake of ‘The Graduate’.

Asked about his dream movie roles, he told Absolute Radio host Christian O’Connell: “I’m still waiting for that script and that director. I like a lot of movies from the 70s. A movie I just saw again and one of my favourites is ‘The Graduate’.”

The ‘Elf’ actor and comedian topped the annual list by Forbes magazine, which calculated how much moviemakers earn per dollar paid to their lead actor.

After the last couple of funnyman Will’s films – ‘Semi-Pro’ and ‘Land of the Lost’ – bombed at the box office, his rate of return has dropped to $3.29 for every dollar of Will’s fee.

This contrasts greatly with the other end of the scale, which saw Shia LaBeouf named as the Best Actor for the Buck in August, earning studios an average of $160 for every dollar he was paid.

Behind Will on the Most Overpaid list was British actor Ewan McGregor, while Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson all made the top ten.

However, Will could turn his box office figures around as he recently revealed he wants to make a sequel to ‘Anchorman’, one of his most successful films to date, about a 1970s newsreader.

The 42-year-old star said: “Yeah we’re trying to figure out when and how we should do that. We’re going to meet with all the guys and see if we can actually pull this off.

“With Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd, they’re in different places with their careers it’s a lot harder to get us all together.”

Although he did add: “And believe me, I’m not taking a pay cut, no way, absolutely not!”

Youngsters Rocco Ritchie, nine, and Cruz Beckham, four, are tipped to have the most earning power in a new report which assessed the estimated worth of today’s celebrity children in 20 years time.

Rocco, son of the ‘Celebration’ singer and film director Guy Ritchie, topped the four categories in the report – star quality, likely inheritance, talent and love of the camera – getting ratings of ten out of ten for each.

The report also estimated Rocco to be worth £376 million before he reaches 30.

Celebrity expert Mark Frith said: “Rocco will earn a fortune from his mother and a fair bit from dad. But it’s the other three rankings that power him to the number one place.”

Cruz – whose mother is former Spice Girl turned fashion designer Victoria Beckham – beat siblings Romeo, seven, and Brooklyn, ten, to second place in the list.

Both Rocco and Cruz scored highly because they have been spotted dancing at their mother’s concerts.

None of Rocco’s other siblings – sister Lourdes and adopted brother and sister David and Mercy – featured on the list.

British royals, Princes William and Harry, came ninth and tenth on the list – compiled by Cartoon Network – with estimated fortunes of just under £200 million each, but were both embarrassingly awarded zero out of ten for showbiz talent.

The girl hid herself in a holdall matching that of the group’s luggage at a hotel they were staying at in Dublin, Ireland, in the hope of being smuggled to the airport with the four boys.

However, the ‘Beat Again’ singers’ entourage noticed the bag containing the girl was “moving” and rescued her before she was packed into the back of the tour bus.

A source close to the group told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “It’s getting to the point where the fanaticism is dangerous.

“This girl was so meticulous. She had brought along her own bag to match the luggage the guys normally use. But it was moving slightly and didn’t have any tags so one of the security lads saw it.

“When the girl was pulled out she had been in there for at least half an hour and was close to fainting.”

Unfortunately for the fan, the group – Marvin Humes, Aston Merrygold, Jonathan “JB” Gill And Oritse Williams – had already left the hotel in separate cars, leaving the girl, who was wearing a T-shirt of the band, disappointed.

The source added: “She was looking for the boys but they had already left.

“She was distraught but managed to slip away, pretending she needed the toilet.”

Last weekend, JLS had to cut short a performance in Birmingham, England, after 20,000 fans turned up to see them and a host of other acts switch on the city’s Christmas lights and perform for free.

Around 60 people were injured as fans rushed to try and get into the show bustling past security.

The Police frontman claims to have seen the apparition of a woman, witnessed flying objects and heard strange voices at a home he once lived in with wife Trudie Styler.

One night, the terrified 58-year-old singer – who sang ‘Spirits in the Material World’ in the 80s – awoke to see a ghostly mother holding a baby in the corner of the room.

He said: “I would never have said I believe in ghosts, until I saw one – I’ve seen a ghost with my own eyes.

“I was in bed one night, in a very old house I used to live in, and I woke up at three in the morning, bolt upright, looked into the corner of the room and thought I saw Trudie standing there with a child – our child – in her arms, staring at me.

“And I thought, ‘Well, that’s strange – why is she standing in a corner, staring at me?

“And I then reached next to me and there was Trudie, and I suddenly got this terrible chill. And she woke up and said, ‘Gosh, who is that?’ And she saw this woman and a child in the corner of the room.”

That was not the only supernatural encounter Sting had in the house, and he admits he was plagued by otherworldly beings.

He added in an interview on UK station Radio 2: “A lot of things happened in that house, a lot of flying objects and voices and strange, strange things happened.

“When you live in old houses you get this energy there. Intellectually, no I don’t believe in them, but I’ve experienced them on an emotional level.”

She said: “And even though Robert Pattinson is getting some deserved attention, it’s the older generation of actors that still have sway in Hollywood.”

Gerard has previously spoken about how he walked away from his career as a solicitor when he was just weeks away from qualifying to pursue his acting dream.

He said: “You have to understand that I was completely out of control. If I hadn’t been so lost and insane, I’d still be a lawyer.”

The ‘Godfather’ star is citing “irreconcilable differences” for the split from spouse Linda Stokes after filing the papers in Los Angeles’ County Superior Court.

He said in a statement: “We have two beautiful kids together and will remain great friends. Everything will be fine.”

It is not the first time James – who is seeking joint custody of the couple’s two children – has filed for divorce from Linda.

In 2005, he was seeking a legal permanent split but called off proceedings just a month later.

The 69-year-old ‘Las Vegas’ star is no stranger to divorce, having been married four times.

The ‘Not Fair’ singer – who launched a scathing attack on illegal file-sharing on her MySpace blog and attacked indie group Radiohead for giving their latest album away on a pay-what-you-want basis – claims she doesn’t care if people copy her albums and sell them on for a profit.

Lily, 24, told UK radio station Key 103 Radio: “If someone comes up with a burnt copy of my CD and offers it to you for £4, I haven’t a problem with that as long as the person buying it places some kind do of value on my music.”

In Lily’s original blog post she said downloading was starving up-and-coming artists of money they need to keep producing music, and attacked the Featured Artists Coalition (FAC) – whose members include Travis singer Fran Healy, Blur drummer Dave Rowntree and Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien.

She wrote: “I’m going to be writing to British artists, saying just this: File sharing’s not OK for British music. We need to find new ways to help consumers access and buy music legally, but saying file sharing’s fine is not helping anyone – and definitely not helping British music.”

The FAC recently called for the British government to abandon proposals to cut off the internet connections of people who illegally download music.

The actress admits six-year-old Ryder – her son with ex-husband, Black Crowes rocker Chris Robinson – took a liking to Penelope when she and Kate were filming new movie ‘Nine’ together.

Talking about the shoot, Kate said: “Ryder would say to me, ‘I saw Penelope in the lobby today.’

“You could see that he recognised what a beautiful woman she is. He’s so cute!”

Asked if he still believes he will raise a family of his own, he added to Parade magazine: “Yes, yes, yes. I have not given up hope!

The ‘High School Musical’ actor was shooting new movie ‘Me and Orson Wells’ on the Isle of Man – a small island located in the Irish Sea between Britain and Ireland – and was stunned to discover his legion of female fans had even managed to hunt him down there.

He said: “I was looking forward to that seclusion. From what I heard it was a pretty quiet place and there weren’t a lot of people there. But they found it. But I felt pretty welcome.”

The movie is something of a departure for Zac – who is famous for playing clean-cut jock Troy Bolton in the hit ‘High School Musical’ films – admits he was looking for something a bit “riskier” when he accepted the part.

Zac – who plays a teenage student who, by luck, gets to work with a young Orson Welles, the acclaimed American writer and director, in the coming-of-age drama – said: “I was looking for that opportunity, something fresh.”

Zac wasn’t concerned his large, mostly teen fan base, wouldn’t have heard of Orson Welles.

He said: “Perhaps the fans that don’t know about Orson maybe have more of an opinion now when they study this stuff at school… some insight into the early life of this American icon.”

One guy Rihanna has her eye is ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ actor Jesse Williams – who plays her love interest in the video for ‘Russian Roulette’.

The actress had to wear a lot of tight-fitting corsets for her role as Irene Adler in Guy Ritchie’s new movie about the British fictional detective and admits it was a struggle to get them on.

She said: “I wasn’t allowed to take that corset off! I had to rely on yoga exercises! Don’t get me wrong, I’m such a girly girl, I was in heaven being dressed in these incredible costumes. But it was like something out of ’Gone With The Wind’. I’m holding onto the trailer door trying to eek out just a little bit of space so that I can speak properly. Each morning, they tried to make me laugh and on the laugh they’d yank – that’s how they managed to squeeze me in every day.”

Rachel also joked she was so desperate to be in the film, she had to beg Guy for her part.

She quipped to Total Film magazine: “I hunted Guy down and camped on his doorstep until he relented! OK, no, we had a chat in a garden and it went from there… Fortunately, it worked out for me.”
